Robert D. Thomaston
Robert Dwayne Thomaston, a Mobile resident and Theodore native, died Sunday at a local hospital. He was 31.
He is survived by his wife, Paula Harvill Thomaston; two children, Taylor P. Thomaston and Madelyn E. Thomaston, all of Theodore; his parents, Virgil and Maryann Younce; two brothers, William Thomaston Jr. of Las Vegas and Paul G. Younce of Theodore; six sisters, Beverly A. Younce of Theodore, Judy Wilson of Pensacola, Jean Wilson of Montgomery, Connie Courtney of Memphis, Tenn., and Diane Foster and Janice Foster, both of Wilmer.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, with services at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the Paula Thomaston Trust Fund at AmSouth Bank in Tillman's Corner.

BALDWIN COUNTY

Artie Lee Blackard
FOLEY — Artie Lee Blackard, a Foley resident, died Sunday. She was 70.
The Carrizo Springs, Texas, native is survived by her husband, Vernon M. Blackard of Foley; two sons, Glenn Blackard of Phoenix, Ariz., and Vernon M. Blackard Jr. of Orange Beach; one daughter, Verna Cobern of Orange Beach; two sisters, Jean Love of Carrizo Springs and Anna Claire Moorman of Houston; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at Leonard Funeral Home in Carrizo Springs. Burial will be in Carrizo Springs Cemetery. Cremation arrangements were by Mack Funeral Home and Crematory in Robertsdale.

WASHINGTON COUNTY

Jerry McDonald
CALVERT, Ala. — Jerry McDonald, a native of Calvert, died Saturday. He was 40.
McDonald was employed by Celanese in Bucks, Ala.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta McDonald; his son, Jeremy McDonald; two daughters, Jada McDonald and Jasmine McDonald; his mother, Alberta McDonald; six brothers, Theo McDonald Sr., Leo McDonald Jr., Eugene McDonald, LeBaron McDonald, Rafield Rodgers and Chester Lewis; and three sisters, Ruby Seals, Inez Jenkins and Gloria McDonald.
Viewing be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the Church of God Pentecostal in McIntosh. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Vaughn Cemetery.

Delores L. Ware
STATELINE, Miss. — Delores Lankford Ware died Sunday at an area hospital. She was 74.
The Stateline resident and native was a retired bank teller and homemaker. She was a member of Johnson Creek Baptist Church, where she was pianist and a Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by a son, Danny Ware of Jackson, Miss.; a daughter, Suzanne Powe of Hattiesburg, Miss.; one brother; two sisters; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, Miss. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Johnson Creek Baptist Church in Stateline, with burial in the church cemetery.

Ellie Nora Vinson
WHITE HOUSE FORK— Ellie Nora Vinson, a resident of White House Fork and a native of Carney, Ala., died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999, at a local nursing home. The homemaker was 94.
She is survived by four daughters, Nora Walker of Elberta; Louise Crenshaw and Thelma Blevins, both of Bay Minette, and Cornelia Taylor of White House Fork; a son, Norman Vinson of White House Fork; a sister, Grace Stewart of Rabun, 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday at White House Fork Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Freeman Mashburn officiating. Burial was at Johnson Cemetery.

Nell Ree Jeffus
Nell Ree Wilson Jeffus, a resident of Eight Mile, died Tuesday at a local nursing facility. She was 80.
Survivors include her husband, George Jeffus of Eight Mile; a daughter, Annie Pearl Smith, and a son, Kennith G. Jeffus, both of Mobile; a brother, John Wilson of Atmore, Ala.; a sister, Wilner Johnston of Evergreen, Ala.; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at Cope Funeral Home in Evergreen, with burial at Long Branch Cemetery.

Mary L. Nolfe
Mary L. Nolfe, a Mobile homemaker and a longtime resident of the Port City, died Monday at her home. She was 78.
Mrs. Nolfe was a native of Fort Benning, Ga.
She is survived by two brothers-in-law, Eugene Nolfe and Vincent Nolfe, both of Mobile.
Graveside services are set for 3 p.m. today at Pine Crest Cemetery, with Radney-Belmany Funeral Home directing.
Memorials may be made to the Airport Boulevard Baptist Church Building Fund or to the Alabama Baptist Children's Home.

Michael A. Pettis
Michael Andrew Pettis, a lifelong resident of Irvington, died Sunday after a lengthy illness. He was 29.
Survivors include his father, Cecil E. Pettis of Grand Bay; his mother and his stepfather, Glenda and Billy Barnes of Theodore; two brothers, William Otis Bostick Sr. of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lance Cpl. Cecil E. "C.J." Pettis Jr. of Iwakuni, Japan; a sister, Heather Renee Pettis of Theodore; maternal grandmother Pearl Dunn of Irvington; and paternal grandfather Claude M. Pettis of Waynesboro, Miss.
Services took place Tuesday at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Mobile Memorial Gardens.

BALDWIN COUNTY

Lawrence Alexander
POINT CLEAR - Lawrence "Red" Alexander, a native of Jay, Fla., and a resident of Point Clear, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, at a local health care facility. He was 86.
He is survived by four daughters, Irma Richmond of Pensacola, Lavonia Deer of Point Clear, Kathy Richmond of Irvine, Calif., Janice Smith of Bon Secour; four sons, Lawrence Franklin Alexander and John Alexander, both of Longview, Texas, Alonzo Alexander of Helenwood, Tenn., and Greg Alexander of Quantico, Va.; 34 grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 9 p.m. today at Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Brook Cedron Cemetery,
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to a favorite charity. Funeral arrangements are by Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope.

Elizabeth Aliene Brock
STAPLETON - Elizabeth Aliene Brock, 74, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, at a local hospital. The Birmingham native was a resident of Stapleton.
Mrs. Brock was a member of the Worldwide Church of God.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Spaller of Fairhope and Suzette Taylor of Stapleton; four brothers, Daniel Voiles of Rabun, Levi Voiles of Parris, Calif., Ronald Voiles of Spanish Fort and Everett Voiles of Bay Minette; a sister, Sharon Phillips of Hurricane Landing and four grandchildren.
A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Belforest Community Cemetery. Pastor Frederick Moore will officiate.
Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne is handling the arrangements.

Georgia Jenkins Glisson
FAIRHOPE - Georgia Jenkins Glisson, a native of Bay Springs in Jasper County, Miss., and a resident of Fairhope, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, at a local hospital. She was 84.
Mrs. Glisson graduated in 1938 from State Teachers College, which is now the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Miss. She retired from the Mobile Public School System and was a member of First Baptist Church of Fairhope.
She is survived by a son, William J. Glisson of Mobile; two sisters, Mary C. Jenkins and Velma R. Jenkins, both of Hattiesburg, Miss.; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 tonight in the chapel of Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Bayview Funeral Home, with the Rev. A.B. Sawyer officiating. Burial will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are by Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope.

Albert Kirk Haley
LILLIAN - A graveside service for Albert Kirk Haley will be held Monday at Nashville National Cemetery in Tennessee. The service will begin at 11 a.m.
Haley, 62, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, at his residence in Lillian. He was a native of Madison, Tenn.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Haley of Lillian; his mother, Lillian E. Swadley of Tell City, Ind.; a son, Larry Haley of Nashville; a daughter, Terri Orchard of Vashon, Wash.; and seven grandchildren.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
Pine Rest Funeral Home in Foley is handling the arrangements.

Cindy Jernigan
FAIRHOPE - Cindy Jernigan, a native and resident of Fairhope, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999. She was 41 years old.
She is survived by a daughter, Cera Eizabeth Jernigan, a son, Robert Elliott Jernigan, and her parents, Bill and Peggy Jernigan, all of Fairhope; one sister, Doris Lee Mayo of Indian Harbour Beach, Fla.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 tonight at Mack Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial following in Montrose Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are by Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale.

ESCAMBIA COUNTY

Jessie L. Caraway
Jessie L. "David" Caraway, a retiree from the city of Atmore's utility board after 45 years, died Monday in Atmore. He was 68.
Caraway, who resided in Atmore, was a native of Escambia County. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Ruth Caraway of Atmore; two stepdaughters, Joan Coker and Bobbie Busher, both of Pace, Fla.; four brothers, Dewey Caraway and Harold Caraway, both of Mobile, Edward Earl Caraway of Atmore and Pete Caraway of McCullough, Ala.; two sisters, Doris McGraw of Crestview, Fla., and Dorothy Morrow of Mobile; and several grandchildren.
Services are set for 2 p.m. today at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.

WASHINGTON COUNTY

Hattie S. Suggs
ST. STEPHENS - Hattie Sullivan Suggs, who had worked as a seamstress with Vanity Fair Mills, died Monday at her St. Stephens home. She was 59.
Mrs. Suggs, a native of St. Stephens, was a member of Clearwater Assembly of God in Wagarville, Ala.
Survivors include three sons, Christopher Douglas Suggs, Brian Edward Suggs and Michael Dewain Suggs, all of St. Stephens, and five sisters, Fannie Wheat and Lucille Wade, both of Jackson, Ala., Irene Buckley of Satsuma, Patricia Atchison of Salitpa, Ala., and Emmogene Perkins of St. Stephens.
Services are set for 2 p.m. today at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson.
