DELTONA - Herminia Alvarado, 85, of Planter Drive, died Jan. 15, 2000, at Florida Hospital-Fish Memorial.
A homemaker, Mrs. Alvarado was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico, and moved to this area in 1994 from Chicago.
She was a member of the Iglesia de Dios Pentecostal M.I. in Deltona.
Mrs. Alvarado is survived by her husband of 15 years, Jose; two sons, Pedro Louis Cruz of Puerto Rico and Ramon Cruz of Chicago; two daughters, Carmen Moran of Puerto Rico and Nora Colon of Chicago; three brothers, David, Tite and Alberto Suarez, all of Puerto Rico; three sisters, Trinidad and Julia Suarez, both of Puerto Rico, and Isabel Suarez of Philadelphia; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Deltona Memorial was in charge.

Charles E. Arthur
DELTONA - Charles E. Arthur, 78, of Stratton Street, died Jan. 16, 2000, at Florida Hospital-Fish Memorial.
Mr. Arthur retired as a chemical plant operator for Monsanto Corp. in Nitro, W.Va., after 25 years. Born in Heizer Creek, W.Va., he moved to this area in 1989 from Nitro.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Naomi; three sons, Larry of Dallas, Roger of Nitro and David of Hurricane, W.Va.; a daughter, Judie Arthur of Jacksonville; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 218-A E. New York Ave., DeLand, FL 32724-5554. Baldauff was in charge.

Raul Ayala
ORANGE CITY - Raul Ayala, 81, of Highland Drive, died Jan. 11, 2000, at Florida Hospital-Fish Memorial.
Mr. Ayala was the owner and operator of and a jeweler for Nunez Credit Jewelers in the Bronx, N.Y., for 20 years. Born in Savanna Grande, Puerto Rico, he moved to this area from New York City in 1989.
He was a member of Iglesia Cristiana de Deltona.
Mr. Ayala served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife of 51 1/2 years, Blanca; a son, Raul Jr. of Sunset, La.; three daughters, Lourdes Codro-mac of San Jose, Calif., Ivette Perez of New York City and Kattress Marie Carranza of Orange City; a brother, Ramon of Lajas, Puerto Rico; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Baldauff was in charge.

Thelma Jane Bolvin
DELTONA - Thelma Jane Bolvin, 85, of East Normandy Boulevard, died Jan. 14, 2000, at Regents Park of Winter Park, a nursing home.
Mrs. Bolvin retired as secretary and proofreader for First Research Corp. in Miami. Born in Ontario, Canada, she moved to this area in 1980 from Miami.
She attended Deltona Presbyterian Church. An amateur radio operator with the call letters WB4AUR, she was a member of the Floridora YL's, the American Radio Relay League and the Young Ladies Radio League.
Mrs. Bolvin is survived by three daughters, Patricia Key of Orlando, Janet Bolvin of Anchorage, Alaska, and Beverly Blackwell of Winter Park; a brother, Ralph Dionne of Apopka; five sisters, Lillian Row of Ashtabula, Ohio, Frances Cornelius of Ontario, Betty Coburn of Deadwood, S.D., Joyce Baker of Rose Bud, Ark., and Joanne Hudson of Cypress, Texas; and four grandchildren.
Baldauff was in charge.

Jane Campbell
DELTONA - Jane Campbell, 77, of Mitnik Drive, died Jan. 11, 2000, at Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford.
A homemaker, Mrs. Campbell was born in Atlanta and moved to Deltona from Sanford in 1974. She had previously lived in Seville.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Deltona and the Methodist Women's Club. A volunteer for the Florida United Methodist Children's Home in Enterprise, she had been a Girl Scout leader in Maryland for 13 years and president of the Parent-Teacher Association of Taylor High School in Pierson. She enjoyed crafts and knitting.
Mrs. Campbell is survived by her husband of 57 years, Wallace L.; two sons, Edward L. of Mount Holly, N.J., and Scott R. of Sanford; a daughter, Christine D. Beall of Clarksburg, Md.; two sisters, Pauline Gottwals of Punta Gorda and Elizabeth Grim of Brownsville, Md.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorial donations may be made to the Florida United Methodist Children's Home, P.O. Box 6299, Deltona, FL 32728-6299. Baldauff was in charge.

Martin J. 'Marty' Donohue
ORANGE CITY - Martin J. "Marty" Donohue, 59, of Grand Plaza Drive, died Jan. 9, 2000, in Germany.
A first sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserve, Mr. Donohue was a logistics specialist. Born in Oyster Bay, N.Y., he moved to this area in 1979 from Brooklyn, N.Y.
He attended St. Ann's Catholic Church in DeBary and enjoyed working on his computer, reading, history, woodworking and fishing.
A veteran of the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm, Mr. Donohue received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star Medal.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Carmen D.; three sons, Christopher T. of Titusville, Kevin B. of Deltona and Martin J. Jr. of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a daughter, Linda M. Berner of Deltona; two brothers, Bernard J. of Belle Harbor, N.Y., and John T. of Altamonte Springs; two sisters, Mary T. Alati of Londonderry, N.H., and Margaret W. Collins of Brooklyn; and six grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the Florida United Methodist Children's Home, P.O. Box 6299, Deltona, FL 32728-6299. Baldauff was in charge.

Phyllis Dreggors
SEYMOUR, Tenn. - Phyllis Dreggors, 89, a former resident of West Volusia, died Jan. 12, 2000, at Baptist Hospital in Knoxville, Tenn.
Mrs. Dreggors was the owner of Phil's and Al's Tavern in DeLand. She was born in Senecaville, Ohio.
She is survived by a daughter, Kay Wilson of Seymour, a sister, Mary Ellen Gollan of Hubbard, Ohio, a brother, Roy Kays Jr. of Ohio, five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Carpenter Curry was in charge.

Raymond Henry Emery Sr.
DEBARY - Raymond Henry Emery Sr., 60, of Linda Vista Street, died Jan. 16, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Emery retired as a hoist operator for coal mines. Born in Philipsburg, Pa., he moved to this area in 1999 from Kuhntown, Pa.
He enjoyed drag-racing, and he held a national speed record for I Gas Class in Pittsburgh. He also enjoyed hunting, metal-detecting and collecting clocks.
Mr. Emery served in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Ann; two sons, Raymond Jr. of Manassas, Va., and Dave of Orange City; three daughters, Cathy Isenhart of Morgantown, W.Va., Debbie Ketchem of DeBary and Sherry Huber of Atlanta; two sisters, Alice Ewing of Tyrone, Pa., and Beverly Stock of Martinsburg, Pa.; a brother, Dusty of Nanty-Glo, Pa.; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Altman-Long was in charge.

Dr. Frederick E. Farrer
DELAND - Frederick E. Farrer, 90, of Lancaster Road, died Jan. 15, 2000, at an area care center.
Dr. Farrer retired as a physician in 1982. Born in New Philadelphia, Ohio, he moved to this area in 1982 from Coral Gables.
He graduated from high school in St. Petersburg in 1927, graduated from St. Petersburg Junior College in 1931, attended Emory University in Atlanta for two years, and graduated from the Emory University School of Medicine with a medical degree in 1936. During the summer of 1935, he studied in the department of pathology at the University of Chicago. During his senior year at Emory, he worked in the department of pathology at Grady Hospital in Atlanta.
Dr. Farrer had a medical practice in Miami for several years, until he entered the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War II. He served with the Chinese army and left the military as a major in the Medical Corps. He then attended the Graduate School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania for one year. After World War II, he practiced medicine in Miami and Coral Gables until his retirement.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in DeLand, the Riviera Country Club in Miami and the DeLand Country Club.
Dr. Farrer is survived by his wife, Frances, a daughter, Lois Reeves of Kennesaw, Ga., three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Lankford was in charge.

Rogelio Gonzalez
DELTONA - Rogelio Gonzalez, 68, of Brewster Drive, died Jan. 11, 2000, at Beverly Healthcare Deltona.
Mr. Gonzalez retired as a truck driver. Born in Isabela, Puerto Rico, he moved to this area in 1997 from Toa Baja, Puerto Rico.
He was a member of St. Clare Catholic Community in Deltona and enjoyed playing the guitar, reading, cars, gardening, house painting, shopping and entertaining his family and friends.
Mr. Gonzalez served in the U.S. Army Air National Guard during the Korean War and also was stationed in Germany.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Myrna; a son, Roy of Queens, N.Y.; two daughters, Lisette Roman of Mountain Home, Ind., and Myrna Ortiz of Ormond Beach; three sisters, Mary Gonzalez of Toa Baja, Alicia Alicea of Deltona and Gladys Reyes of Ormond Beach; and 10 grandchildren.
Baldauff was in charge.

Pearl Katherine Hammond
MELBOURNE - Pearl Katherine Hammond, 83, a former resident of Deltona, died Jan. 13, 2000, at Mariner Health Care of Melbourne.
Mrs. Hammond retired as a saleswoman for Sears in Allen Park, Mich. Born in Walsh, N.D., she moved to Deltona from Allen Park in 1971 and to Palm Bay from Deltona in 1997.
She was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church in Orange City.
Mrs. Hammond is survived by a son, Myron Norman Hammond of Orlando; two daughters, Joan Katherine Donohoo of Jennings and Janet L. Glenn of Palm Bay; a sister, Florence Grill of Portland, Ore.; 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Deltona Memorial was in charge.

Iris R. Hatcher
DELTONA - Iris R. Hatcher, 75, of South Elston Drive, died Jan. 16, 2000, at her home.
A homemaker, Mrs. Hatcher was born in Tallahassee and moved to this area in 1993 from Longwood.
She was Presbyterian and enjoyed being with her children and her grandchildren.
Mrs. Hatcher is survived by a son, Ronald James of Fort Myers; two daughters, Sherri Lea Braun of Orlando and Cynthia J. Mitchell of Deltona; two sisters, Alice Miller of Pensacola and Sarah Ellis of California; and six grandchildren.
Baldauff was in charge.

Jose A. Ifarraguerri
DELTONA - Jose A. Ifarraguerri, 79, of Dumas Drive, died Jan. 17, 2000, at Mariner Health of Orange City.
Mr. Ifarraguerri retired as a major in the U.S. Army. Born in Puerto Rico, he moved to this area from Miami in 1986.
He was Catholic.
Mr. Ifarraguerri received the World War II Victory Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the American Theater Service Medal.
He is survived by his wife, Nery; a son, Jose M. of Deltona; a daughter, Carmen Feijoo of Miami; a sister, Hilda Ifarraguerri of Puerto Rico; and two grandchildren.
Baldauff was in charge.

Frank Klossen
DEBARY - Frank Klossen, 66, of Valencia Road, died Jan. 14, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Klossen was a carpenter. Born in Reminderville, Ohio, he moved to this area in 1979 from Aurora, Ohio.
He was Catholic and was a member of the West Volusia Bass Anglers Association and the Paralyzed Veterans Association. He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 24 years and enjoyed fishing and boating.
Mr. Klossen served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; a daughter, Linda Gasparro of Dublin, Ohio; three sons, Scott and David Brugmann, both of Mantua, Ohio, and David Brugmann of Hohenwald, Tenn.; and 10 grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the Mantua-Shalersville Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 449, Mantua, OH 44255. Altman-Long was in charge.

Loretta Lombardi
DELAND - Loretta Lombardi, 58, of East Howry Avenue, died Jan. 12, 2000, at her home.
Ms. Lombardi retired as a registered nurse. Born in New York City, she moved to this area five years ago from Tamarac.
She served in the U.S. Army.
Ms. Lombardi is survived by a son, Michael of Tamarac; a daughter, Sheryl Jones of Deltona; her stepmother, Gussie Kister of Lindenhurst, N.Y.; four brothers, Albert Kister of Selden, N.Y., Bobby Kister of Shirley, N.Y., Richard Kister of North Babylon, N.Y., and Daniel Kister of Darmstadt, Germany; and six grandchildren.
