Lillie C. Anderson
ORANGE CITY - Lillie C. Anderson, 83, of Gleason Street, died Aug. 9, 2000, at an area care center.
Mrs. Anderson retired as a secretary for Union Carbide Corp. in West Virginia after 20 years. Born in Skelton, W.Va., she moved to this area in 1971 from Fallsview, W.Va.
A graduate of the National Business College in Roanoke, Va., she was a member of First Baptist Church of Orange City and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by a son, Rex B. Jr. of New London, N.C.; a daughter, Alice Burdett of Melbourne; a brother, A.J. Carman of Asheville, N.C.; two sisters, Mildred Dotson of Alloy, W.Va., and Norma Torrie of Colorado Springs, Colo.; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Willie Anderson Binkley
DELTONA - Willie Anderson Binkley, 64, of St. James Avenue, died Aug. 11, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Binkley retired as a sergeant first class in the U.S. Marine Corps after 22 1/2 years of service. Born in Nashville, Tenn., he moved to this area in 1990 from Oklahoma City.
He was a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart and Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 04-01. He enjoyed boating.
Mr. Binkley enlisted in the Marine Corps at age 17, served in the Korean War and served four tours of duty in the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Purple Heart four times and 52 citations and commendations.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Cheryl; a son, Melvin C.L. of Pennsylvania; a stepson, Joseph W. Duncan of Orange City; a daughter, Lydia Lorraine Binkley of Alaska; and four grandchildren.

Wilma 'Patsy' Brown
ORANGE CITY - Wilma "Patsy" Brown, 68, of Sparkman Avenue, died Aug. 4, 2000, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada.
In 1978, Mrs. Brown began a successful business in DeLand, Pat Baum Real Estate. Born in Minneapolis, she moved to this area in 1972 from Wilmington, N.C.
She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in DeLand and the DeLand Bridge Club. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening and traveling to Canada with her husband.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband of 11 years, Jim; three stepsons, Clarke Baum of Port Orange, and Mike Brown and Pat Brown, both of Sault Ste. Marie; two daughters, Margie Schmid and Elizabeth Schmid, both of DeLand; two brothers, Mike Marcum of Elk Horn, Iowa, and Dan Marcum of Pequot, Minn.; and two sisters, Betty Jett and Margie Bussman.

W.L. Hancock
DELTONA - W.L. Hancock, 92, of Elkcam Boulevard, died Aug. 10, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Hancock retired as a self-employed business executive, which he had been all his adult life. He invented and developed the first riding garden tractors. Born in, Newfoundland, Canada, he moved to this area in 1973 from Canton, Conn.
He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in DeBary and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Milford, Conn. He enjoyed boating and was a past commodore of Poontatuck Yacht Club in Stratford, Conn.
Mr. Hancock served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Florine M.; four sons, Donald Sr. of Myrtle Beach, S.C., David L. Sr. of Milford, John R. Sr. of Essex, Conn., and Robert B. of St. Petersburg; a stepson, Ralph Bossert of DeBary; a daughter, Juanita Reid of Whitby, Ontario, Canada; three stepdaughters, Barbara Dorfner and Grace Crane, both of Pittsburgh, and Florine Walters of Mount Plymouth; a brother in Canada, four sisters in Canada, 27 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Frances Lee Hazelton
ORANGE CITY - Frances Lee Hazelton, 92, of Grand Plaza Drive, died Aug. 10, 2000, at Mariner Health of Orange City.
A homemaker, Mrs. Hazelton was born in Shullsburg, Wis., and moved to this area in 1982 from Chicago.
She is survived by a sister, Winifred Edmonds of Galena, Ill., and two nieces, Audrey Bell of DeBary and Mary Jo Bancroft of Holiday.

Lyvirgia Kitchen Mee
DELAND - Lyvirgia Kitchen Mee, 102, of East New York Avenue, died Aug. 9, 2000, at University Center East.
A homemaker, Mrs. Mee moved to this area in 1956 from her hometown of Dayton, Ohio.
She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Lake Helen.
Mrs. Mee is survived by a son, William of Lake Helen, a brother, Robert Kitchen of California, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Salvatore R. Ministeri
DELTONA - Salvatore R. Ministeri, 73, of Tulip Court, died Aug. 9, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Ministeri retired as a chauffeur for the City of Boston. He moved to this area in 1975 from his hometown of Boston.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, the Sons of Italy and Knights of Columbus Council 6584, all in Deltona, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Ministeri served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by a son, Robert L. of Deltona; two brothers, Louis of Deltona and Guy of Tewksbury, Mass.; two sisters, Mary Tringale of Hyde Park, Mass., and Phylis Wohlgemuth of Braintree, Mass.; and two grandchildren.

Mary E. Morrissey
CORONA, Calif. - Mary E. Morrissey, 93, a former resident of DeBary, died Aug. 8, 2000, at Kaiser Hospital in Riverside Calif.
A homemaker, Mrs. Morrissey was born in New York City. She moved to DeBary in 1966 from Saugerties, N.Y., and recently moved to California from DeBary.
She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in DeBary and was very active with the DeBary Volunteer Fire Department. She enjoyed arts and crafts and sewing.
Mrs. Morrissey is survived by a son, Thomas F. of Corona, a daughter, Mary Jane Fennell of Bedminster, N.J., and one grandchild.

Mary Louise Needer
DELTONA - Mary Louise Needer, 73, of West Canal Road, died Aug. 5, 2000, at her home.
Miss Needer retired as a line supervisor for Bendix Corp. in her hometown of Baltimore after 25 years. She moved to this area from Baltimore in 1993.
She was a member of the General Church of the New Jerusalem in Lake Helen.
Miss Needer is survived by a brother, John Needer of Mitchellville, Md.; and three sisters, Constance Aubrey of House Springs, Mo., Vera List of DeLand and Patricia Bolek of Baltimore.

Evelyn Mae Russell
ORANGE CITY - Evelyn Mae Russell, 64, of Greenhedge Drive, died Aug. 8, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. Russell retired as an assembly-line worker for Ben-Mont Papers in her hometown of Bennington, Vt., after 10 years. She moved to this area in 1995 from Bennington.
She was Methodist and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Bennington. She enjoyed gardening and knitting.
Mrs. Russell is survived by her husband of two years, Harold E.; two sons, Michael D. Smith of Attleboro, Mass., and Darryl F. Smith of Bennington; a daughter, Tammy Smith-Tabor of White Creek, N.Y.; and seven grandchilden.

Raymond R. Strunk
DELTONA - Raymond R. Strunk, 53, of Whitewood Drive, died Aug. 4, 2000, at Mariner Health of DeLand.
Mr. Strunk was a corrections officer for the Department of Corrections in Daytona Beach for 20 years. Born in Lancaster, Pa., he moved to this area in 1997 from Edgewater.
An avid reader, he enjoyed studying history.
Mr. Strunk served in the U.S. Air Force 1964-68.
He is survived by his father, Russell M. of Lancaster; his stepmother, Pearl A. Strunk of Lancaster; a brother, Russell M. Jr. of Lancaster; and four stepbrothers, David Pierce, Curtis Pierce, Douglas Strunk and Carey Strunk, all of Lancaster.
