FRANK MOSLEY
BAY MINETTE - Frank Mosley, a native and resident of Bay Minette, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999. He was 91.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Mosley of Bay Minette; two daughters, Louise Snowden of Blountstown, Fla., and Gennevieve Mosley of Youngstown, Ohio; two sons, Frank Mosley Jr. and John Earl Mosley, both of Bridgeport, Conn.; and one brother, Robert Mosley of Compton, Calif.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. today until the 1 p.m. funeral hour at the Trinity Chapel AME Church in Bay Minette. The Rev. James Crook will officiate and the Rev. Cleveland Smoke is pastor. Burial will take place in Mutual Aid Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are by Baldwin Community Chapel Funeral Home in Bay Minette.

HELEN PRATT DAVY
SPANISH FORT - Helen Pratt Davy, a native of Salt Lake City, Utah, and a resident of Spanish Fort, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999. She was 92.
She was a graduate of the University of Utah with a major in French and a minor in English and taught those languages in a Salt Lake City high school prior to her marriage to Dr. Lee G. Davy in 1931.
She was a past member of Waverly Road Presbyterian Church where she was active for many years. Mrs. Davy also was a past member of Church Women United, served on the Kingsport, Tenn., school board, was active in the Holston Valley Community Hospital Auxiliary, was a member of the Junior Women's Club, Girl Scouts of America and the American Association of University Women.
She was an amateur radio oper ator and was active in several traffic nets and in the American Radio Relay League. More recently, she was on the organizational board of Fellowship of Joy Church in Spanish Fort.
She is survived by two sons, L. Nevil Davy of Rochester, N.Y., and George Davy of Kingsport, Tenn.; one daughter, Susan D. Trosclair of Spanish Fort; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Fellowship of Joy Church in Spanish Fort. Burial will be in the Pine Crest Cemetery West in Mobile.
The family suggests memorials be made to Waverly Road Church in Kingsport, Tenn., or the Fellowship of Joy Church in Spanish Fort. Funeral arrangements are by Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne.

ROBERT D. SHOBE
ROBERTSDALE - Robert D. "Bob" Shobe Sr. of Robertsdale, a native of Delphos, Ohio, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999. He was 65.
Shobe was a veteran of the Korean and the Vietnam wars and served in the U.S. Air Force for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Robertsdale Church of the Nazarene, where he served as a trustee.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Shobe of Robertsdale; one daughter, Lesa Brill of Robertsdale, and two sons, Robert D. Shobe Jr. of Robertsdale and Wayne A. Shobe Sr. of Spanish Fort; three sisters, Mary Louise Binkley and Ruth Turner, both of Lima, Ohio, and Bette J. Secrist of Robertsdale; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Robertsdale Church of the Nazarene, with the Revs. Leon Patrick and T.J. Farlow officiating. Burial will take place at 10:15 a.m. Monday in the Fort Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. tonight at Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale.

HELEN McMATH
ORANGE BEACH - Helen McMath, 70, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999. She was a resident of Orange Beach and a native of Ohio.
Survivors include her husband, Dale McMath of Orange Beach; a daughter, Linda Steele of Mobile; stepmother, Helen McVay of Pensacola; two brothers, Russell McVay of Gulf Shores and Gerald McVay of Pensacola; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be at 12:45 p.m. today at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola.
Arrangements are by Baldwin Funeral Home in Gulf Shores.

SALLIE PERKINS RIDER
FAIRHOPE - Sallie Gertrude Perkins Rider, a native of Stapleton and a resident of Fairhope, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999. She was a homemaker and was 87 years old.
She is survived by two sons, Arnold Rider of Fairhope and Kenneth O. Rider Sr. of Bay Minette; one brother, Litchman Wilson of White House Fork; one sister, Ida Vines of Mobile; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Norris Funeral Home in Bay Minette. Burial will be in Rosinton Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 until 9 tonight at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Norris Funeral Home.

Melvin Davis
Melvin Davis, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, died Friday at a local hospital. He was 59.
He was a retired U.S. Air Force technical sergeant and a graduate of Mattie T. Blount High School, class of 1959.
He is survived by three children, Crystal V. Davis of Dayton, Ohio, Melvin A. Davis of Los Angeles and Jeremy M. Davis of Mobile; one sister, Rosie Jones of San Francisco; one brother, Charles Roberts of Mobile; former wife, Gloria Davis of Dayton, Ohio; and two grandchildren.
Viewing will be from noon to 5 p.m. Monday at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home.
A procession will leave the funeral home Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. for graveside services at 12:30 p.m. in the Biloxi National Cemetery in Mississippi.

Alfred L. Lavender
Alfred Leroy Lavender, a native and resident of Mobile, died Thursday at a local hospital. He was 64.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Lavender of Mobile; a son, Clarence Lavender; four daughters, Diane Roberson, Deborah Bell, Donna Lavender and April Richardson; five brothers, James Edward Collins, Curtis Wilkerson, Joseph Ayala, Donald Broadus and Tommy Wheeler; a sister, Rhenda Richie; and 12 grandchildren.
Services will be at noon today at Serenity Funeral Home in Mobile, with visitation two hours before. Burial will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens.

Harrison Moore
Harrison Moore, a native and resident of Plateau, died Sunday at the age of 40.
Survivors include two sons, Harrison Moore Jr. and Mario Moore; and a daughter, Ashley Moore, all of Mobile; and a brother, Robert Moore Jr.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. today at Lovett's Funeral Chapel, followed by services at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Rising Sons Cemetery.

John Morgan Jr.
John Morgan Jr., a former merchant seaman, died Wednesday at a local hospital. He was 69.
Morgan, a native and resident of Mobile, was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Sanders Morgan of Mobile; six sons, Johnnie Morgan, Tony Morgan and Gregory Morgan, all of Detroit, Ralph Sanders and Christopher Sanders, both of Mobile, and Marcus Sanders of Valdosta, Ga.; five daughters, Linda Gibbs, Gloria Dowdlan, Brenda Morgan, and Portia Payne, all of Mobile, and Debra Morgan of Detroit; two brothers, Richard Ball and James Morgan, both of Los Angeles; and a sister, Jonnie Lewis of Los Angles.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home in Mobile, with visitation one hour before. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Helen M. Ewing
GRAND BAY - Helen Marie Ewing, a native of Mobile and resident of Grand Bay, died Friday at a local hospital. She was 41.
Mrs. Ewing, a homemaker, was a member of Calvary Assembly of God in Tillman's Corner.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Ewing Sr. of Grand Bay; one son, Jerry Ewing Jr. of Grand Bay; three daughters, Vickey Ewing, Lisa Ewing and Denise Ewing of Grand Bay; her mother, Helen Goodwin of Mobile; two brothers, Ray Goodwin of Theodore and Gary Goodwin of Satsuma; two sisters, Theresa Hall of Jacksonville, Fla., and Sharon Hester of Tillman's Corner; and one grandson.
Visitation will from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Serenity Funeral Home. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Serenity Funeral Home. Burial will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens.

BALDWIN COUNTY

Janie L. Pennington
SUMMERDALE - Janie L. Pennington, a native and resident of Summerdale, died Thursday. She was 53.
Survivors include her mother, Sadie Mae Lindberg of Summerdale; two brothers, Coleman Bradford of Houston and Earl Bradford of Summerdale; and three sisters, Lillie Garrison, Alice Johnson and Betty Williams, all of Summerdale.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Pine Rest Funeral Home in Foley. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Mercy Medical Hospice in Daphne.

Auburn C. Rowland
STAPLETON - Auburn Calloway Rowland, 88, died Thursday at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope.
He was a retired quality control inspector at Brookley Field and had served in the U.S. Army. The Stapleton resident was also a retired Church of God minister and had pastored several area churches.
Rowland is survived by his wife of 62 years, Willie Mae Frazier Rowland of Stapleton; three sons, Otis Rowland of Robertsdale, Bill Rowland of Daphne and Alan Rowland of Stapleton; two daughters, Elizabeth Rowland and Dorothy Byrd, both of Stapleton; a brother, Arnold "Jack" Rowland of San Jose, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Stapleton Church of God. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. at the church.
Arrangements are by Norris Funeral Home in Bay Minette.

CLARKE COUNTY

Grace K. Price
JACKSON - Grace Kitrell Price, a native of Barlow Bend and resident of Jackson, died Thursday at a local medical center. She was 72.
Mrs. Price was a member of the Methodist church in Gainestown and had worked as a seamstress for Vanity Fair.
She is survived by one daughter, Lynda Barkley of Huntsville.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. Sunday in Trinity Memorial Gardens.

Leroy C. Daffin
PITTSBURGH - Leroy Cleveland Daffin, a native of Jackson, Ala., and resident of Pittsburgh, died Sunday . He was 61.
He is survived by two sons, Steven Daffin of Birmingham and Charles Steele of Jackson; two daughters, Annie Marie Hill of Detroit and Vangie Anise of Mobile; two brothers, Walter Lee Daffin Jr. of Pittsburgh and Edward Lee Daffin of St. Louis; three sisters, Mary Lee Tucker of Pittsburgh, and Margleen Berry and Bettie G. Moore, both of Walker Springs; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Jackson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Arrangements are by Jackson Memorial Funeral Home.

Opal E. Pitts
LUCEDALE, Miss. - Opal Ellen Pitts, 67, a native of Jones County, Miss., and resident of Lucedale, died Tuesday after a brief illness.
Mrs. Pitts, a homemaker, was a member of Union Baptist Church's Ladies Auxiliary. She was co-owner of Pitts Florist in Lucedale.
She is survived by one daughter, Bridgette Ousman of Kingswood, Texas; one son, Michael Pitts of Lucedale; four sisters, Gusta Mae Blackwell of Bay Springs, Miss., Blanche Graham of Moss, Miss., Freda Campbell of Falls Church, Va., and Hazel McCormick of Lucedale; and six grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday at Union Baptist Church. Burial wsa in Union Cemetery. Sigler Funeral Home in Lucedale handled arrangements.

Cassie Helveston
Cassie Helveston, a Pensacola, Fla., native and Mobile resident, died Saturday at a local nursing facility. She was 86.
Mrs. Helveston was a member of Lafitte Baptist Church.
She is survived by four sons, William G. Helveston of San Antonio, Raymond E. Helveston of Mobile, Royal F. Helveston of New Orleans and Wilton L. Helveston of New Iberia, La.; three daughters, Virginia H. Beck of New Iberia, La., Helen H. Deese of Houston and Patricia H. Simmons of Mobile; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Indian Springs Cemetery.

SEMMES - Helen Clark Jennings, a Semmes resident, died Friday at her home. She was 68.
Mrs. Jennings, a homemaker, is survived by her husband, James L. Jennings of Semmes; one son, Michael Taylor of Harrelston, Miss.; three stepsons, Michael Jennings of Howell, Miss., Ricky Jennings of Semmes and Dennis Jennings of Roundrock, Texas; two daughters, Carolyn Clark of Ovett, Miss., and Linda Taylor of Harrelston, Miss.; two brothers, Alfred Clark of Richton, Miss., and William Clark of Citronelle; three sisters, Lillie Skinner of Laruel, Miss., Elmer Shoemaker of Picayune, Miss., and Frances Millard of Houston; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Jones Funeral Home chapel in Richton, Miss. Burial will be in Clark Cemetery.

Jessie Leona Lambeth, a Flomaton native and Mobile resident, died Saturday in a local hospital.
She is survived by three sons, Isaac "Buck" Lambeth, Hilton Lambeth and Bobby Lambeth; two daughters, Frances Barlow and Bonnie Lambeth Miller; two sisters, Grace Ashbee and Mary Hammac; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 38 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Serenity Funeral Home. Visitation will also be at noon Monday at Lambeth Holiness Church in Flomaton, followed by services at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Lambeth Holiness Church Cemetery.

Mildred A. Lucas, an Evening Shade, Ark., native and Mobile resident, died Friday at a local hospital. She was 86.
Mrs. Lucas was a member of University Boulevard Church of Christ.
She is survived by three daughters, Georgia Creason of Pine Bluff, Ark., Frankie McKinley of Mobile and Betty DeWitt of Mobile; two brothers, Dillard Norris of Sacramento, Calif., and George Norris of Ash Flat, Ark.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, with visitation one hour before. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Daniel C. Goodman
CALVERT - Daniel Curtis Goodman, a brick mason for Searcy Hospital, died Friday at a local hospital. He was 61.
Goodman, a Forestdale native and Calvert resident, was a member of Faith Temple Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Goodman of Calvert; two sons, Delano Goodman of Dixons Mills and James Ernest Goodman of Fulton; five daughters, Donna Jo Gyin of Calvert, Debbie Burge of St. Stephens, Elaine Saboge of Raleigh, N.C., Diana Luheh of Sweet Water and Vanessa Phillips of Thomasville; his mother, Bessie Lee Goodman of Thomasville; two brothers, Kenneth Goodman of Dickinson and Dewey Goodman of Thomasville; two sisters, Rachel Dolbear of Richton, Miss., and Marie Ramos of Petal, Miss.; and 15 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson. Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Barrytown Cemetery in Choctaw County.

Francis E. Busby
DOTHAN - Francis Elmer Busby, a Mobile native and Dothan resident, died Thursday. He was 86.
Busby, a grate of Spring Hill College, served as general manager of WTVY television station in Dothan and was involved with other stations in Georgia and Florida. He was a former member of the board of directors for the CBS Affiliates Board. He also served on the advisory committee for the Battleship Alabama.
Busby was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Dothan, where he served as deacon.
He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Eve of Asheville, N.C.; one sister, Lucile Coggin of Mobile; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church of Dothan.
Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels or Wiregrass Hospice, P.O. Box 2127 Dothan, 36302.
Byrd Funeral Home in Dothan is in charge of arrangements.
