Debra J. Bryan
WILMER — Debra Jordan Bryan, a native Mobilian and resident of Wilmer, died Monday at the age of 20.
Survivors include her husband, Shane Bryan of Wilmer; two daughters, Lorena Renee Bryan and Hillary Anette Bryan, both of Wilmer; her parents, Allison Jones of Kushla and Robert J. Jordan of Mobile; two brothers, Robert Ryan Jordan of Mobile and Christopher Lee Jones of Kushla; a sister, Natasha Jordan of Oklahoma; paternal grandmother, Ruby Merritt of Mobile; and her maternal grandparents, Richard and Billye Hanke of Mobile.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 this evening at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home in Semmes. Graveside services are set for 10 a.m. Friday in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.

Don Eckman
GRAND BAY — Don Eckman, a Vietnam Veteran and prisoner of war for three years, died Sunday at his residence. He was 61.
Eckman, a native of Spring Hill, La., and resident of Grand Bay, was a member of various veterans organizations.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Eckman of Grand Bay, one daughter and one brother.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Serenity Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at noon Thursday in Serenity Memorial Gardens.

Mary L. Hicks
Mary Louise "Molly" Hicks, a member of Phillips Temple AOH Church, died Saturday. She was 80.
Mrs. Hicks was a native of Camden, Ala., and a resident of Mobile.
Survivors include three children, Jesse Lee Hicks of Lake Charles, La., Rhovilus "Shane" Hicks of Minneapolis and Aurelia H. Williams of Mobile; a sister, Betty Dailey of Pensacola; three brothers Thomas McNeil of Mobile, Woodrow McNeil of Minneapolis and William Scott McNeil of Omaha, Neb.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from noon to 5 p.m. Friday at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home. Viewing will also be after 9 a.m. Saturday at Christ Temple Apostolic Church, 801 Virginia St., with visitation from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. services. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.

Hiep T. Le
CODEN — Hiep Thanh Le, an employee of Nails Now, died Wednesday at a local nursing facility after a battle with cancer. He was 43.
Le, a native of Vietnam, was a resident of Coden for the past eight years. He was a member of Zirlott Road United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Oanh Thi Nguyen of Coden; and a daughter, Ngoc Anh Le of Coden.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. today at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, followed by graveside services at noon in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Carole E. Miller
CHUNCHULA — Carole Elaine Miller, who retired from Rosa A. Lott Elementary School in Citronelle as a Title I aide, died Wednesday at a local hospital. She was 62.
Mrs. Miller was a Mobile native and resident of Chunchula. She attended Gulfcrest Baptist Church in Gulfcrest, Ala.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby G. Miller of Chunchila; three sons, Corbin Miller, Royce Miller and Boyce Miller, all of Chunchula; a daughter, Rhonda Bedgood of Georgetown; two brothers, Perry Malone and Norman Malone, both of Chunchula; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Freeman Funeral Home in Citronelle, where services are set for 1 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Gulfcrest Cemetery.

Tharon Williams Sr.
WILMER — Tharon Durel Williams Sr., a retired civil servant, died Wednesday at his home of cancer after an extended illness. He was 77.
Williams, a Neely, Miss., native who was reared Leakesville, Miss., was a resident of Wilmer.
He had worked as a civil servant at Brookley Field and later went to Warner Robins, Ga. He retired in 1976 and later moved back to the Mobile area.
As member of Crawford Baptist Church, Williams devoted much of his time to church activities and projects. He had been instrumental in the building of the church's Christian Life Center.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served in Fleet Airwing 3. He was a 1951 graduate of Louisiana State University.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille C. Williams; a daughter, Terry Kay Hill; a son, Thoran Durel Williams Jr.; two brothers, Arlie Ray Williams and Bernie Lavell Williams; a sister, Inez Mae Ball; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Crawford Baptist Church. Another visitation is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, followed by services at noon. Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. Arrangements are by Serenity Funeral Home directing.
Memorials may be made to the Christian Life Center at Crawford Baptist Church.

BALDWIN COUNTY

Vira Underwood
FOLEY — Vira Faye Long Underwood, a member of Summerdale Church of Christ, died Wednesday at a medical facility in Daphne at the age of 78.
Mrs. Underwood was a resident of Foley.
Survivors include four daughters, Linda Cravey of Millbrook, Ala., Mildred Nelson of Mobile, Iris Thompson of Lakeway, Texas, and Gloria Meredith of Baton Rouge, La.; four sons, Roger Davis of Butler, Tenn., Larry Davis of Spanish Fort, Ronald Underwood of Summer Shade, Ky., and the Rev. Marshall Underwood of Mobile; two sisters, Neva Norrell of Bromley, and Alva Hayes of Bon Secour; four brothers, Thomas Long and Varon Long, both of Mobile, Valton Long of Foley and Arvin Long of Elberta; 20 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Bayview Funeral Home in Foley, where services are set for 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Pine Rest Memorial Park in Foley.

MONROE COUNTY

Hybert J. Reed
DOTTELLE — Hybert Jefferson Reed, a retiree of International Paper Co., died Tuesday at his home. He was 78.
Reed, a mill employee with the paper manufacturer, was a Monroe County native and resident of the Dottelle community. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Brooks Reed of Dottelle; two sons, Thomas Hybert Reed of Mobile and David Jefferson Reed of Monroeville, Ala.; a daughter, Pauline Asberry of Monroeville; a brother, Carl W. Reed of Monroeville; a sister, Voncille Reagan of Repton, Ala.; and six grandchildren.
Services are set for 2 p.m. today at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home in Monroeville, with burial in New Home Cemetery in Monroeville.

OTHER

Wayne McNeil
FOLEY — Wayne McNeil, a native of Foley and a resident of Casey, Ill., died Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999, at his home. He was 65.
McNeil was a 1953 graduate of Foley High School and an employee of the Rural Electrification Administration before moving to Illinois in 1955. He was a retired power line worker for the city of Casey, Ill., and frequently returned to Baldwin County to fish and visit friends and family.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann McNeil of Casey, Ill.; a daughter, Christine Neal of Flagstaff, Ariz.; three sons, Michael McNeil of Casey, Ill., Jeffrey McNeil of Terre Haute, Ind., and Glen McNeil of Martinsville, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Laura Baston of Casey, Ill.; three stepsons, George Stoutin of the Netherlands, and John Stoutin and Doug Stoutin of Casey, Ill.; three sisters, Ina Blackmon and Myrtle Folmar, both of Foley, and Jerry Pumphrey of Summerdale; and 16 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Casey Baptist Church in Casey, Ill., with the Rev. Tom Marsh officiating. Burial was held at Washington Street Cemetery in Casey, Ill.
Greenwell Funeral Home of Casey, Ill., handled arrangements.

Theodore Chaney
FAIRHOPE — Theodore Chaney died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, at a local hospital. He was a resident of Fairhope.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Chaney of Fairhope; four sons, Johnny Lee Chaney, Theodore Chaney Jr. and Cato Jackson, all of Fairhope, and Thomas Bush of Arkansas; a daughter, Dorothy Jemison of Daphne; one brother, Elisaha Chaney of Jackson; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 o'clock today at Twin Beech AME Zion Church in Fairhope. The Rev. Samuel Maye will officiate and burial will follow in Twin Beech Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the church.
Wolfe Funeral Home in Fairhope is handling the arrangements.

FOLEY — Vira Faye Long Underwood of Foley died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, at Mercy Medical Center in Daphne. She was 78.
Mrs. Underwood was a member of Summerdale Church of Christ.

Eugene Earl Johnson
FOLEY — Eugene Earl Johnson, 68, of Foley died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center.
Johnson was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Protective Benevolent Order Elks Club for 23 years.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Jeanette Johnson of Foley; two daughters, Jody Vanderpool of Elberta and Ann Marie Johnson of New York; three sisters, Hope Reed and Loretta Metz, both of New Jersey, and Lou Conners of Florida; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorial services for Johnson will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Bayview Funeral Home of Foley.
Bayview Funeral Home of Foley is handling arrangements.

Genevieve Chestang Collins
MAGNOLIA SPRINGS — Genevieve Chestang Collins, a longtime resident of Southwest Alabama, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999. She was 89.
Mrs. Collins was a devout Catholic and devoted mother, family members said. She lived in Mobile and Baldwin counties until 1991, when she became a resident of the Sentara Nursing Center in Norfolk, Va.
Survivors include four sons, Harvey Collins of Virginia Beach, Va., Harold Collins of Cibolo, Texas, Ed Collins of Spring Valley, N.Y., and Donald Collins of Magnolia Springs; a daughter, Jo Ann Collins Bolton of Chester, Va.; and several grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bayview Funeral Home in Foley. A rosary service will be held at 730 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church in Magnolia Springs, with burial following in the church cemetery.
Bayview Funeral Home of Foley is handling arrangements.

Tristen A. Settecase
ROBERTSDALE — Tristen Anthony Settecase of Robertsdale died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999. He was 3 years old.
He is survived by his father, Tony Koen; his mother, Amanda Settecase and a brother, Robert Charles Settecase, all of Robertsdale.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Fairhope Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memory Gardens of Fairhope. Visitation will be held starting at 11 a.m. today and continuing until the funeral.
Funeral arrangements are by Fairhope Funeral Home, 19698 Greeno Road in Fairhope.

Dee Ann Henderson
GULF SHORES — Dee Ann Henderson, a native of Houston and a resident of Gulf Shores, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999. She was 38.
Survivors include her husband, Mark Henderson of Gulf Shores; a daughter, Tressie Henderson of Gulf Shores; her father, James E. Nash of Montgomery, Texas; her mother, Taragabee Nash of Montgomery, Texas; and two sisters, Darla Ellis of Pasadena, Texas, and Jamie Hurt of Orange Beach.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 tonight at Pine Rest Funeral Home in Foley. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Orange Beach United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Pine Rest Memorial Park.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, 7101 U.S. 90, Daphne, AL 36526. Pine Rest Funeral Home of Foley is handling arrangements.

Ella Childress
ROBERTSDALE — Ella Childress, a native of Butler County and a resident of Robertsdale, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999. She was 93.
She is survived by a daughter, Doris Stapleton; a son, Julius Childress; a sister, Ethel Miles, all of Robertsdale; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Mack Funeral Home Chapel in Robertsdale. Burial will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery in Loxley. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Robertsdale Building Fund. Funeral arrangements are by Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale.

Michael J. Curtis
BAY MINETTE — Seven-month-old Michael James Curtis died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999, at Children's s Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham.
He is survived by his parents, Courtney Joanna Rabon of Bay Minette and Cory Thomas Curtis of Stapleton. Other survivors include his grandparents, Sherrie Ruth Varner of Escatawpa, Miss., Roy and Diane Curtis of Stapleton; great-grandparents, James and Peggy Rabon of Bay Minette, George and Tina Wasdin of Hahnville, La., Harold Light of Webster, Tenn., Clyde and Mazie Jerkins of Stapleton, Roy A. Gibson of San Antonio and Shirley Ann Gautreaux of Mermentau, La.; great-great-grandparents, Hector Wasdin and Ruth Byrd, both of Bay Minette, Evie Jerkins of Stapleton and Eva Paige of Manchester, N.H.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Crossroads Church of God in Bay Minette. The Rev. J.P. Lambert and Robert Kurisco will officiate and burial follows at New Life Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Norris Funeral Home in Bay Minette.

Michael A. Kaiser
ELBERTA — Michael Anthony Kaiser of Elberta, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999, at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley. He was 84.
Kaiser was a lifetime Baldwin County farmer who owned and operated his own family farming business. He was also a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Elberta.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ann Kaiser of Elberta; two daughters, Cheryl Hanson of Foley and Lynne Froeba of Metairie, La.; two sons, Michael K. Kaiser and James C. Kaiser, both of Elberta; a brother, Paul Kaiser Jr. of Foley; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday prior to funeral services at 2 p.m. at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. The Rev. Howard Moussier will officiate and burial will follow in Prince of Peace Cemetery in Elberta. Bayview Funeral Home of Foley is handling arrangements.
