MOBILE COUNTY

Mack Willis
Mack Willis, a former Mississippi sharecropper, died Saturday at a local hospital. He was 106.
Willis was a native of Madison County, Miss., and had been a sharecropper for many years before moving to Mobile.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Dan W. Jackson, James K. Willis and Debra W. Parker; three great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The cortege will leave Memorial Funeral Home in Prichard at 830 a.m. Saturday for the 11 a.m. services at Andrews Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Flora, Ala.

Phyllis L. Marshall
Phyllis Lou Marshall, a volunteer with the American Red Cross, died Thursday at a local hospital. She was 70.
Mrs. Marshall, a native of Tiffin, Ohio, was a resident of Mobile. She was a former member and nursery director of Roseland Park Baptist Church in Picayune, Miss.
Survivors include her husband, Robert W. Marshall of Mobile; four children, Christine L. Clarkson, Kenneth N. Marshall and Ruth A. Marshall, all of Mobile, and Robert L. Marshall of Brookland, Ark.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Monday, with services at 2 p.m., at Radney-Belmany Funeral Home on Grelot Road. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Earl W. Moore
Earl Wayne Moore, president of E. Wayne Moore and Associates, died Monday at his home.
Moore, a native of Selma, was a resident of Mobile and a member of University Boulevard Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Raine Moore; two sons, Michael Wayne Moore of Gulf Shores and Dean Alan Moore of Mobile; two daughters, Allison Moore Harris and Stacey Moore Posey, both of Mobile; five brothers, Troy Moore, Billy Moore, Ludie Moore and Robert Moore, all of Selma, and Charles Moore of Montgomery; two sisters, Virginia Lawson and Louise Hopkins, both of Selma; and three grandchildren.
Services were Thursday at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street, with burial in Pine Crest Cemetery.

Jermaine L. Bush Jr.
Jermaine L. Bush Jr. died Sunday at a local hospital. He was 1 year old.
Survivors include his mother, Shani Lett; his father and stepmother, Jermaine L. Bush Sr. and April Bell Bush; two sisters, Antwanette Johnson and Antwonque Lett; a stepbrother, Tyler Morgon Bell; his grandparents, Pamela Pritchett, Anginetta and Arthur Mauldine; and his great-grandmother, Mary Sutherland.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, with services at noon, at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 2846 Chambliss St.. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, with Lovett's Funeral Chapel directing.

Lillie M. Carpenter
Lillie Mae Carpenter, a hairdresser for Family Hairstyles, died Wednesday at a local hospital. She was 55.
Mrs. Carpenter was a native of Millry, Ala., and resident of Mobile. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Mark Carpenter of Summerdale; a daughter, Annette Stevens of Saraland; her mother, Esther Maggie Scarbrough; a brother, Robert Lee Scarbrough of Barlow, Ala.; three sisters, Dot Toomey of Tibbie, Ala., Earline Forbus of Mobile and Mearline Hall of Warner Robins, Ga.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom, Ala. Services are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Barlow United Methodist Church, with visitation a half-hour before. Burial will be in the church cemetery in Millry.

CLARKE COUNTY

Ethel M. Presnall
SUGGSVILLE, Ala. - Ethel M. Presnall, a homemaker and member of Mount Horeb AME Church in Allen, Ala., died Nov. 5 at her home. She was 95.
Mrs. Presnall, a native of Suggsville, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Good Success Chapter No. 403.
Survivors include three sons, Curtis O. Presnall and Melvin D. Presnall, both of Grove Hill, Ala., and James Presnall of Flint, Mich.; a stepson, Booker T. Presnall of Grove Hill; four daughters, Corain McCall of Springfield, Mass., Evelyn Hampton and Annie Edgar, both of Flint, and Eunice Matthews of Grove Hill; a stepdaughter, Margaret N. Martin of Norfolk, Va.; 33 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at noon Saturday, with services at 1 p.m., at Wayman Chapel AME Church. Burial will be in the church Cemetery, with Andrews Funeral Home in Jackson, Ala., directing.

ESCAMBIA COUNTY

Willie L. Brown
ATMORE - Willie Lee Brown, a retiree of a paper company in Mobile, died Sunday at a hospital in Pensacola. He was 56.
Brown, a native of Canoe, Ala., lived most of his life in Atmore. He had retired from International Paper Co., now known as Kimberly-Clark.
Survivors include two sisters, Bessie Hill and Shirley George, both of Atmore; two half-sisters, Fannie Finklea of Pensacola and Barbara Brown of Evergreen, Ala.; four brothers, Freddie Lee Brown, Roosevelt Brown and Sylvester Brown, all of Atmore, and David Brown of Walnut Hill, Fla.; two half-brothers, Willie Brown and David Brown, both of Nebraska.
Viewing will be from 1 to 830 p.m. today at Turner Funeral Home in Atmore, with visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. Services are set for 230 p.m. Saturday at Jones Street Holiness Church in Atmore, with viewing one hour before. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

MONROE COUNTY

Nicholas T. Cummingham
MONROEVILLE - Nicholas Terez Cummingham, a native of Mobile and resident of Monroeville, died Tuesday in Monroeville at the age of 7 weeks.
Survivors include his parents, Cleo and Minnie Cunningham; a brother, Cleo Cunningham Jr.; and a sister, Marquita Brown, all of Monroeville; and a stepsister, Cleopatra Cunnington of Gautier, Miss.
Services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church Cemetery, with Jones Unity Funeral Home of Monroeville directing.

Mary Straughn
PERDUE HILL - Mary Palmer Gaillard Straughn, a member of Perdue Hill Presbyterian Church, died Wednesday at the age of 90.
Mrs. Straughn was a lifelong resident of Perdue Hill.
Survivors include a son, A. Pinckney Straughn; two sisters, Lucy G. Johnson and Ida M. Gaillard of Perdue Hill; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. today, with services at 11 a.m., at Perdue Hill Union Church. Burial will be in McConnico Cemetery, with Johnson Funeral Home of Monroeville directing.

Flossie Crossley
MONTGOMERY - Flossie Margetta Lambert Crossley, a Monroe County native and a resident of Montgomery, died Nov. 5 . She was 71.
Mrs. Crossley had worked as a Head Start teacher in Detroit.
Survivors include four sons, Kirtwright Lambert of Montgomery, Ronald Lambert and Christopher Lambert, both of Detroit, and Willie Lambert of Stone Mountain, Ga.; three daughters, Brenda Paulin of New Rochelle, N.Y., Jacqueline Lambert-Davis of Hampton, Va., and Florastine Seymour of Norfolk, Va.; three sisters, Geraldine Singleton, Florestine Young and Lula Stallworth, all of Detroit; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 2 p.m. today at Bethel Baptist Church in Monroeville, with burial in the church cemetery.

Charles B. Klepac
OCEAN SPRINGS - Miss. Charles B. Klepac, died Wednesday at his residence in Ocean Springs. He was 85.
The Jackson, Ala., native retired from U.S. Steel in Chicago.
Survivors include his son, Glen Klepac of Pittsburgh, and his daughter, Elaine Chen of Atlanta; three stepchildren, Carolyn Browning, Linda Peters and Jay O'Quin, all of Ocean Springs; two sisters, Mary Kirk of Jackson and Ann Roberts of Leroy; two brothers, James Kelpec of Tuscaloosa and Kenneth Klepac of Mobile.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home, 911 Porter Ave. in Ocean Springs, with services at 10 a.m Saturday. Burial will be in Seymour Cemetery in Gulf Hills.

Charles D. Sumerlin
SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. - Charles D. Sumerlin, a Mobile native and resident of Shelbyville, died Tuesday at a hospital. He was 63.
Sumerlin worked as art director with Jostens Inc. and as a commercial artist. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Shelbyville Tennis Association.
Survivors include his wife, Carole Sumerlin of Shelbyville; a son, David Sumerlin of Dayton, Tenn.; and daughter, Candi Raney of Shelbyville; two brothers, Basil Sumerlin of Mobile and Stanley Sumerlin of Winter Haven, Fla.; and one grandchild.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel in Shelbyville, with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 4205 Hillsboro Road, Suite 200, Nashville, TN 37215.

BETTY JANE MARTIN SINGLETON
ELBERTA - Betty Jane Martin Singleton of Elberta died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley. She was 78.
Mrs. Singleton was a member of the Foley United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Order of the Eastern Star Foley Chapter and South Baldwin Regional Medical Center and the Auxiliary Volunteers.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Camp of Sarasota, Fla.; a son, Homer Singleton Jr. of Elberta; two brothers, Allen Martin of Weatherford, Texas, and Dick Martin of Theodore; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Foley United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bill Elwell officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Rest Memorial Park in Foley.
Arrangements are being handled by Bayview Funeral Home of Foley.

JAMES FRANKLIN STEWART
BAY MINETTE - James Franklin Stewart, 67, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999. The Bay Minette native was a truck driver for L&L Trucking. He resided in Andalusia.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Golson Stewart of Andalusia; three sons, Elvin Keith Stewart of Waterloo, Ill., Byron 'Bucky' Stewart of Rabun and Michael Dewayne Stewart of Spanish Fort; two stepsons, George Edward Fields of Andalusia and William Edward Fields of Crestview, Fla.; two daughters, Mary Alice Richerson of Bay Minette and Veronica Floyd of Gosport; a stepdaughter, Janie Fields Finkley of Opp; a brother, Elzie Hadley of Splinter Hill; 21 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Norris Funeral Home in Bay Minette. Sister Helen Stewart will officiate and burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Norris Funeral Home in Bay Minette.
Arrangements are by Norris Funeral Home.

CALVIN RICHERSON
BAY MINETTE - Calvin Richerson, 78, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center.
The Bay Minette resident was a cattle and row-crop farmer. Richerson was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a native of Stockton.
He is survived by his wife, Reba Norton Richerson of Bay Minette; three sons, Charles C. Richerson, Ronnie E. Richerson and Billy J. Richerson, all of Bay Minette; a daughter, Marilyn Palmer of Bay Minette; four brothers, Thomas Richerson of Iowa City, Iowa, Aubrey Richerson of Bon Secour, Melvin Richerson of Bay Minette and Norman Richerson of Grand Bay; four sisters, Alvin White of Stapleton, Bernice Blackmon of Jackson, Tenn., and Minerva Hyatt and Vera Degner, both of Bay Minette; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at New Life Baptist Church in Bay Minette. The Rev. Otis Thames will officiate and burial will follow in New Life Church Cemetery.
Norris Funeral Home in Bay Minette is handling the arrangements.
