MOBILE COUNTY
Carl Jerome Able Jr.
Carl Jerome Able Jr., a student at Craighead Elementary School, died Friday at a local hospital. He was 7.
He is survived by his parents, Carl J. Able and Gail D. Able of Mobile; a brother; five sisters; grandparents; and great-grandparents.
Arrangements will be provided by Hodges Chapel in Mobile.
Verta Viola Clarke
Verta Viola Clarke, a Seaboard native and Citronelle resident, died Friday at a local hospital. She was 82.
Mrs. Clarke, a retired Licensed Practical Nurse, attended Citronelle United Methodist Church.
She is survived by four sons, Elmer Clarke of Biloxi, J.D. Clarke of Asheville, N. C., Kenneth Clarke of Citronelle and Dan Clarke of McIntosh; a brother, George Richardson of Aiken, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Freeman Funeral Home. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Bethel United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Seaboard.
Dora W. Davis
Dora W. Davis, a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, died Thursday at a local hospital. She was 95.
Mrs. Davis was a Loango native and a Mobile resident.
She is survived by a nephew, Willie Johnson of Andalusia; a great niece, Sandra Johnson of Montgomery; and five cousins.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Casher Cemetery. Arrangements are by Christian Benevolent Funeral Home in Mobile.
Robert Earl Little Sr.
Robert Earl Little Sr., a resident of Theodore, died Friday. He was 64.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Little; three sons, Robert Little Jr., Joseph Little and Kenneth Little; two daughters, Ann Hall and Brenda Whitehurst; a brother, Cecil Little; a sister, Pauline Jones; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Serenity Funeral Home. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens.
DeWillis M.A. Young
DeWillis Marchello Alphonzo Young, a Milwaukee, Wis., native and Semmes resident, died Wednesday in a car accident. He was 18.
Young, a senior at Mary G. Montgomery High School, was a member of the high school basketball team.
He is survived by his mother, Sharon Blevins; his father, Alphonzo Charles Young; three brothers, Terry Lee Robbins Jr., Terrell Overton and Jarvis Braggs; a sister, LaDestiny Payton; and grandparents, Richard and Mattie Walker, Lillie Blevins, William Duncan and Odie Young.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Morelight Tabernacle of Prayer Church in Prichard. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Union Grove Baptist Church in Bluff City, Ark. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery. Memorials and donations may be made to any Regions Bank in the name of DeWillis "Chello" Young. Arrangements are by Reese Funeral Home.

Betsy Phillips Hines
ORANGE BEACH - Betsy Phillips Hines, a Little River native and Orange Beach resident, died Saturday at a Fairhope hospital. She was 56.
Mrs. Hines, a teacher in many Mobile County Christian schools, including Faith Academy, served as president of the Joy Fellowship Ecumenical Woman's Group in Mobile. She was the pastor for Chunchula United Methodist, Washington Street United Methodist and Whistler United Methodist from 1984-95.
She is survived by her husband, Al Hines of Orange Beach; her mother, Ruby Mae Phillips of Chatom; two sons, Curtis Hines of Atlanta and Tony Hines of Theodore; three brothers, Franklin Phillips of Baton Rouge, La., Jesse Phillips of Theodore and the Rev. Cornelius Phillips of Uriah; and a sister, Naomi Phillips Black of Chatom.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight in the family's home at 5606 Louisiana St. in Orange Beach. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Whistler United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to a local United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice. Arrangements are by Baldwin Funeral Home in Gulf Shores.
Ronald E. Huggins
SILVERHILL - Ronald Edward Huggins, a Mobile native and Silverhill resident, died Thursday at his home. He was 45.
Huggins, a lab technician for Scott Paper, was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Huggins of Eight Mile; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. Services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Bill Elliot Weaver Jr.
McINTOSH - Bill Elliot Weaver Jr., a Chatom native and McIntosh resident, died Friday at a local hospital. He was 25.
He is survived by his father, Bill Elliot Weaver Sr. of McIntosh; his mother, Dovie Jean Weaver of McIntosh; a brother, Preston Weaver of Mount Vernon; and three sisters, Roxanne Weaver of Mount Vernon, and Johanna Fields and Jennifer Lang, both of McIntosh.
Visitation will begin at 5 tonight at Memorial Baptist Church. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Memorial Baptist Church. Burial will be in Weaver Family Cemetery in McIntosh.

Ethel Kilpatrick Falls
MONROEVILLE - Ethel Kilpatrick Falls, a Monroeville resident, died Thursday at home. She was 94.
Mrs. Falls, a member of Monroeville Church of Nazarene, is survived by a son, Calvin Falls of Monroeville; two daughters, Margie Hernandez of Monroeville and Dorothy Mixon of Houston; a sister, Verter Floyd of Mexia; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home.
Lawrence R. Luker
Lawrence R. Luker, a Monroe County native and resident, died Friday at a local nursing facility. He was 87.
He was a member of Excel Assembly of God and worked for the town of Frisco City for many years.
He is survived by three sons, Bobby L. Luker and Gregg Luker both of Old Salem Community and Randy Luker of Frisco City; five brothers, Calvin Luker of Monroeville, Ulus Luker and Ira Luker, both of Phenix City, Jack Luker of Old Stage Road, and Earl Luker of Laurel, Miss.; a sister, Bertha Bowen of Frisco City; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home in Monroeville. Burial will be in Excel Cemetery.
English H. Cody
A native and resident of Mobile died Friday, November 19, 1999 at a local health care facility. He was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church, a Veteran of WWII and was retired from Brookley Air Force Base. He is survived by a brother, Wilmer S. Mr. Odes C. Lindsey
A native of Covington Co., AL and resident of Whistler died at a local health care facility Wednesday, November 17, 1999 at the age of 87. Mr. Lindsey was a charter m ember of the Carpenter, Millwright and Fabricators L ocal #89. He was presented the Gold Card and carried the 50 Year Book from Local #89. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Cole Lindsey, son, Odes Ferrill Lindsey, two grandsons, Todd Layman Harden and Tracy Lynn Harden. Mrs. Bessie Waldon McDade
A native of Jackson, AL resident of Mobile, AL died on Sunday, November 21, 1999 at the family residence. Mrs. McDade was a member of the American Orchid Society, the Mobile Orchid Society and First Baptist Church of Semmes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clint McDade and her son, Allen P. Waldon. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Dolores M. Waldon of Mobile, AL and two step-sons, Neil McDade of Mobile, AL and Everest McDade of Ashville, NC; two sisters, Mammie Spooner of Leaksville, MS and Alice Golden of Bascom, FL; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Montgomery High School and a member of the Hi gh School Basketball Team.
