Anna Morton

ARCHBOLD - Anna M. Morton, 53, of Archbold, died late Wednesday evening, May 5, 1999, in Community Hospital of Williams County-Bryan, after an extended illness.
Prior to her retirement, she had worked at Lugbill Supply Center in Archbold.
Born on Aug. 23, 1945, in Bryan, she was the daughter of Mary F. (Walters) and Ernest Knappenberger. She married Terry Morton, and he survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Matt (Danielle) Welsh of Archbold; a son, Reid Lee of Cincinnati; a stepson, Kevin Morton of Archbold; a stepdaughter, Teresa Morton of Santa Monica, Calif.; four grandchildren; a sister, Lea Ann Storrer of Archbold; a halfbrother, Dean Knappenberger and a halfsister, Katie Gehring, both of Garden Grove, Calif.
Friends may call at the Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold today, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bob Staup officiating. Interment
will follow in the Archbold Cemetery.

Mildred Rahmer
(1915 - 1999)
PIONEER - Mildred Catherine Rahmer, 83, formerly of Sherwood, died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, at her home.
Born July 16, 1915, to Daisy (Boters) and John Cipp, she was a homemaker. On March 5, 1939, she married Glenn J. Rahmer, who survives. She graduated from Delaware Bend School in 1934 in Defiance County.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Roger and (and wife, Edna) Rahmer of Prattville, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Wanda) Phillips of Angola, Ind., and Ms. Marsha K. Browns of Defiance; a brother John "Junior" Cipp of Defiance and a sister Mrs. Dorothy Brockhause of Churubusco, Ind. along with six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Arthur; a brother, Harold; and four sisters, Mable Culler, Esther Parker, Florence Kimling and Ethel Sohn.
Mrs. Rahmer was a member of the Pioneer United Methodist Church, Dorcas Circle of the church, and a former employee of Spokes Family restaurant.
Visitation will be from 4-8 Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home-Pioneer.
Funeral Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Pioneer United Methodist Church with the Rev. David White officiating. Burial will be in Floral Grove Cemetery, Pioneer.

Lowell J. Kelley
(1921 - 1999)
AUBURN, Ind. - Lowell J. Kelley, 77, formerly of Bryan, Ohio, and recently of Auburn, died unexpectedly Monday evening, May 3, 1999, in the DeKalb Memorial Hospital-Auburn.
Born in Ney, Ohio, on July 20, 1921, he was the son of Audrey (Harmon) and Donald Kelley. He was a member of the Hopewell United Brethren Church in Auburn, and had been employed as a tool and die maker with Fulton Tubing, retiring in 1987. He then was with Regent Mfg., retiring from there in 1997.
On April 19, 1941, he married Doris E. Hane and she survives. He is also survived by a son, Douglas Kelley of Auburn; a brother, Don Kelley of Redding, Calif.; a stepsister, Gladys Wise of Wauseon; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert and a daughter, Beverly.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 at the Rice Funeral Home-Bryan. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Darwin Dunten officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery near Bryan.

Marie D. Bishop
(1908 - 1999)
DEFIANCE - Marie D. Bishop , 90, died at Laurels of Defiance on Tuesday, May 4, 1999.
Born on Aug. 15, 1908, in Defiance County, she was the daughter of Catherine (Liska) and Samuel Rath. On Sept. 23, 1939, she married Ray Bishop who preceded her in death. Mrs. Bishop attended Tiffin schools and was formerly employed by Holabird of Bryan. She is survived by two brothers, Richard and Leonard Rath of Bryan.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, George, Earl, Virgil, Robert and Wilbur; and two sisters, Eleanor Sohnly and Martha Gallagher.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday, at Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home in Defiance.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Glen D. Whisler officiating.
Burial will be in Poplar Ridge Cemetery in Defiance.

Dr. Robert C. Krutsch
(1928 - 1999)
COLDWATER, Mich. - Dr. Robert C. Krutsch, 70, of Coldwater, died Monday, May 3, 1999, in Sebring, Fla.
He was born June 7, 1928, in Bellevue, Ohio, to Lois (Neblung) and Raymond Krutsch. Graduating from Assumption High School in Windsor, Ontario, he then attended several universities, and in 1951 received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Detroit, Mercy.
In 1953, he married Dorthea Fulton in Wyandotte. He began his dental practice in 1957 in Wyandotte, and began his Coldwater practice in 1965. Dr. Krutsch was very active in the community in local clubs, agencies and business groups.
He is survived by two sons; two daughters; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard and Tom Krutsch.
Visitation will be Thursday at the Gillespie Funeral Home in Coldwater from 5-8 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Catholic Church in Coldwater with Fr. Robert Creagan officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Fountain Grove Cemetery in Bryan, Ohio.

Rudolph H. Basselman
(1941 - 1999)
RIDGEVILLE CORNERS - Rudolph H. Basselman, 57, of Ridgeville Corners, died Monday, May 3, 1999, at the Fulton County Health Center of Wauseon.
Born July 10, 1941, near Deshler, he was the son of Augusta (Dickmander) and Herman Basselman. On July 22, 1962, he married Patricia Gerken and she survives.
He graduated from Indiana Institute of Technology in 1963 and owned and operated Basselman Engineering and Land Surveying since 1971. He was a member and past president of the Maumee Valley Chapter of the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers.
A member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, he had been congregation president and deacon, choir director and had directed the Ridgeville Community Choir which he founded in 1976. He was a former member of the Northwesternaires Barbershop Chorus. Mr. Basselman was a member of the Ridgeville Township Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years, and also an EMT. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Randall (and wife, Angela) of Cincinnati, Dennis (Kelly) of Napoleon, David and Steven, both of Ridgeville Corners, and a daughter, Mrs. Mark (Sandra) Miller of St. Louis, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Alfred of Deshler. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Andrew Miller.
Visitation will be Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 at the Short Funeral Home in Archbold.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Bishop Marcus Lohrmann, Pastors Timothy Sonnenberg, Ray Gottschling, Norman Norden and David Gensch officiating. Burial will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery, Ridgeville Corners. James Eicher

ARCHBOLD - James E. Eicher, 74, of Pettisville, died Monday afternoon, May 3, 1999, at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, where he had been a patient for two weeks. Born April 19, 1925, near Archbold, he was the son of Bertha (Burkholder) and Arthur Eicher. On Nov. 16, 1947, he married Grace Stamm, and she survives. A member of the Central Mennnonite Church, he was a lifelong resident of the Archbold/Pettisville area, had farmed and was a partner in Eicher's Repair Center in Pettisville the last 20 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Peter, David (and wife, Sue) and Curtis (Elaine), all of Pettisville; three daughters, Mrs. Vernon (Jeanette) Rice of Strasburg, Pa., Joyce Bedsworth of Hesston, Kan., and Mrs. Geoff (Jane) Rinard of Washington D.C.; 14 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Walter (Martha) Stamm of Archbold, Mary Short of Pettisville and Mrs. Dale (Helen) Weldy of Archbold. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Philip Bedsworth. Edna J. "Dutch" Grime
(1903 - 1999)
ARCHBOLD - Edna J. "Dutch" Grime, 95, of Archbold, died Monday morning, May 3, 1999, at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold, where she had resided since April 8.
Mrs. Grime was born May 11, 1903, near Archbold, a daughter of Lucy (Gould) and Samuel Clingaman. She married Floyd Grime on Feb. 16, 1921, and he preceded her in death on April 12, 1970. She was a lifelong resident of the area and had worked at the former Wauseon Mfg. Co. for several years.
She was a member of the Archbold United Methodist Church, the Democratic Women's Club and the American Legion BLW Post 311 Auxiliary.
Surviving are a son, Daryl (and wife, Dorothy) of Archbold; two daughters, Dorothea Garman of Archbold and Mrs. Ralph (Donna) Dehnbostel of South Lyon, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Clingaman; and a sister, Pearl Geesey.
Friends may call in the Short Funeral Home in Archbold on Wednesday from 2-9 p.m.
Services will be held on Thursday at the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Kent Jaquette officiating. Interment

Denver D. Stamm

ARCHBOLD - Denver D. Stamm, 72, of Archbold, died Monday morning, May 3, 1999, in his home.
Born March 13, 1927, near Archbold, he was the son of Priscilla (Stuckey) and Gustav Stamm, and married Jeanne Foust on Jan. 11, 1950. He was a lifelong area resident and a member of the Lockport Mennonite Church of rural Stryker.
Mr. Stamm owned and operated the former Tri-State Elevator in Elmira for more than 40 years and also farmed and raised turkeys for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; a son, Mark (and wife, Sue) of Archbold; two daughters, Mrs. Steve (Tina) Lange and Mrs. Jeff (Tana) Sauder, both of Archbold; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Paul (Delilah) of Waldron, Mich., Harold of Wauseon and Duane of Archbold; five sisters, Beulah Stockburger of West Unity, Wilma Roth of Archbold, Mrs. Luther (Geneva) Shetler of Bluffton, Zelma Kauffman and Grace Eicher, both of Archbold.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Irma Short.
Friends may call at the Lockport Mennonite Church from 2-9 p.m. on Wednesday.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday at the church with Pastors Mark Miller, Wendy Miller and Allen Rutter officiating. Interment

Donald Lee Oxender
(1944 - 1999)
WEST UNITY - Donald Lee Oxender, 54, of West Unity, died early this morning, May 4, 1999, at his home. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1962 graduate of Hilltop High School.
Born on Oct. 29, 1944, in Bryan, he was the son of Marillyn (VanFossen) and Leslie G. Oxender, who survive. A veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Norfolk, he was a dairy farmer and a bus driver for Millcreek West Unity Schools for 23 years.
Mr. Oxender was employed by Sauders Woodworking Co. for 10 1/2 years as area manager of packaging; was a founder of the Williams County Young Dairy Farmers, a 25-year 4-H adviser, a member of the Alvordton United Methodist Church and the Northwest Ohio Snow Crusiers. He and his wife also shared their home with three Japanese exchange students, Mayumi Yanagi, Megumi Yanagi and Kayoko Suzuki.
On Dec. 12, 1964, he was united in marriage to Sandra L. Gorringe, and she survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Henry (Lisa Renee) Barlage of Chillicothe, Mrs. Kent (Gayle Linee) Collins of Montpelier, Justin Dane' Oxender and Lorraine Janee Oxender at home; his parents; a brother, Darold Oxender of DeWitt, Mich.; and six grandchildren, Lane, Megan, Rachel, Courtney, Morgan and Taylor.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Gordon Oxender; and two brothers, DeWayne and Ronald Oxender.
Burial will precede the services at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Floral Grove Cemetery, West Unity. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. at the West Unity United Methodist Church and memorial services will follow at the church at 4 p.m., with the Rev. Daniel Bare officiating. Preferred memorials may be made to 4-H Camp Palmer, Hilltop Cheerleading Fund, or the Alvordton United Methodist Church.

MONTPELIER - Mary Frances Thrailkill, 75, of Montpelier, died Sunday, May 2, 1999, at Community Hospitals of Williams County, Bryan.
Born Sept. 13, 1923, in Middletown, she was the daughter of Rose and Perry Allen. She was a graduate of Wolcottville High School in Indiana.
A member of the Victory Barn Church in Edgerton, she was a retired employee of Metal Forge Co. in Stryker and also had worked for Williams County Home Health Care.
She is survived by three sons, Denton (and wife, Mary) Krontz Jr., of Bryan; Steve Krontz of Montpelier and John Thrailkill, Montpelier; a daughter, Mary Ann Krontz of Evergreen Manor Nursing Home, Montpelier; a brother, Raymond Allen of Bryan; seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Terry Thrailkill; a daughter, Connie Thrailkill; a sister, Edna Mae Potter; two husbands, John Thrailkill and Victor Betts; and two grandchildren, Kathy and Timothy Krontz.

Kenneth L. Stone Jr.

Kenneth L. Stone Jr., 67, of Bryan, died early Monday morning, May 3, 1999, in Harborside Healthcare Northwestern Ohio-Bryan, where he had been a patient. Born on Aug. 27, 1931, in Buckhannon, W. Va., he was the son of Lucille (Wood) and Kenneth L. Stone Sr.
On April 11, 1953, he married Ruthanne Posey and she survives.
Mr. Stone was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, a volunteer Boy Scout leader where he earned a Silver Beaver, the Bryan Lions Club and was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He had received a B.S. degree from Alderson-Broaddos Philippi in West Virginia, a master's from West Virginia University, and had been employed with the U.S. Soil Conservation Service for 28 years.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Michael of Orlando, Fla., Mark (and wife Darla) and Kevin, all of Bryan; a daughter, Mrs. Todd (Kathy) Henricks of Bryan; five grandchildren, Justin Stone of Edgerton, Derek and Heather Stone of Montpelier, and Randy and Kaitlyn Henricks of Bryan; three step-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours and graveside services will be private.

Ralph J. Miller

ARCHBOLD - Ralph J. Miller, 87, of Archbold, died Sunday morning, May 2, 1999, at the Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold. He had been life-long area farmer and was a member of the Evangelical Mennonite Church in Archbold.
Born in Fulton County on Oct. 31, 1911, he was the son of Louise (Waldfogel) and Ernest Miller. In 1932 he married Florence Bernath, and she preceded him in death in 1988. He later married Catherine Burrows, and she survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Richard and Thomas, both of Archbold; a daughter, Kay Vendrick of Smyrna, Del.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Wayne F. Bowers

WEST UNITY - Wayne F. Bowers, 69, of West Unity, died Saturday, May 1, 1999, at Medical College of Ohio, Toledo.
Born Jan. 28, 1930, in West Unity, he was the son of Stella (Beck) and Lawrence Bowers and was a lifelong resident of this area. He was a 1948 graduate of West Unity High School; an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict; a member of the VFW #2489 of Bryan and the Loyal Order of the Moose #312 of Montpelier.
Mr. Bowers was a retired truck driver for D.I.A. in Montpelier.
In June of 1979, he married Peggy Lero and she survives. He is also survived by his mother, Stella Bowers, a resident of Hillside Country Living; two sons, Jeff (and wife, Pat) of Archbold and Joe (Mary) of West Unity; two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Jill) Filler of Montpelier and Mrs. Les (Jeni) Smith of Pettisville; a brother, Max (Joan) of LaGrande, Ore.; a sister, Mrs. Gerald (Claudine) Schmucker of Stryker; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. There will be no visitation.
Private graveside services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Lockport Cemetery with the Rev. Walter Stuckey officiating. Final military rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars #2489 of Bryan.

Bill E. McGue

DEFIANCE - Bill E. McGue, 64, of Defiance died Friday evening, April 30, 1999, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 2, 1935, in Lima, the son of Helen (McCauley) and Charles McGue, and married Carol Wilson on Sept. 19, 1960. A member of the Church of Christ-Defiance, he was the owner and operator of McGue Plumbing Co. in Defiance, and was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Mr. McGue is survived by his wife, Carol; a son, Matthew of Bremen; a daughter, Vickie Roberts of Defiance; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Ed (Sue) Porter of Defiance.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Dellinger and Sandra Mast; and a niece. Golda M. (Lero) Kerstetter

Golda M. (Lero) Kerstetter, 94, of Bryan, died Saturday afternoon, May 1, 1999, in Community Hospital of Williams County-Bryan.
Born on April 10, 1905, she was the daughter of the late Florence (Bordner) and William Dancer. A homemaker, she married Henry Lero in 1925, and he died in 1978. In 1980 she married Arthur Kerstetter, who died in 1993.
She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Defiance.
Surviving are a son, Laverne Lero of Bryan; a daughter, Mrs. Lester (Lavina) Hoellrich of Holgate; a stepson, Niles Kerstetter of Toledo; a stepdaughter, Elaine Reimus of Michigan; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by eight brothers and four sisters.
Visiting hours are today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home in Defiance.

BROOKSVILLE, FLA. - Frances E. "Fern" Blue, 99, died April 29, 1999 at "The Heritage" in Brooksville, Fla.
Mrs. Blue was born March 14, 1900. She was preceeded in death by her husband William, four sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by numerous nieces and one nephew.

Jenetta May Carder

Continental - Jenetta May Carder, 85, died Monday afternoon, Nov. 1, 1999, at the Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima.
Born May 15, 1914, in Kalida, she was the daughter of Lillian (Miner) and Charles Little. On Oct. 20, 1932, she married John N. Carder and he preceded her in death in September 1957. Mrs. Carder retired in 1979 from Sylvania in Ottawa, where she was a member of the Quarter Century Club.
She is survived by two sons, Nelson E. Carder, Ney; Bob A. Carder, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Terry (Teresa) Howard of Continental; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Carder; a grandson; a great-granddaughter; and nine brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be Wednesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and Thursday from noon to 2:30 p.m. at the Heitmeyer Funeral Home in Continental.

Alva O. Strup

EDON - Alva O. Strup, 90, died Monday afternoon, Nov. 1, 1999, in his home following a brief illness.
Born March 22, 1909, near Blakeslee, he was the son of Flora (Lauchlen) and Henry Strup. On Oct. 27, 1955, he married Arlene June (Gaskill) Mauk, and she survives.
Mr. Strup was preceded in death by five sisters, four brothers, a stepson and a great-grandson. A farmer for many years, he was also a machinist at Simpson Industries for 15 years, retiring in 1972.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Strup is survived by five sons, Alva L. (and wife Arlene) Strup, of Lafayette, Ind.; Dennis L (Pat) Strup, of Bryan; Gary L. Goebel, Edgerton; and Mrs. Nicholas (Deborah) Dulle, Edon; four stepsons, Jim (Anneliese) Mauk, Highland, Calif.; Ronald (Louisa) Mauk, 29 Palms, Calif.; Charles (Pat) Mauk, Bryan; and Richard (Terry) Mauk, Montgomery, Mich.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. David (Barbara) Buntain, Bryan; 19 grandchildren; 19 stepgrandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 27 stepgreat-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were four brothers, Leslie, Jessie, Henry and Walter; five sisters, Bessie Wischmeyer, Dessie Strup, Doris Deffenbaugh, Opal Lovejoy and Flora Strup; a stepson and a great-grandson.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 9 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home in Edon.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Rumple officiating.
Preferred memorials are to Hospice-The Caring Way of Williams-Fulton counties or to the Melbern United Methodist Church.
Lester Arlo Lougheed
(1910- 1999)
MONTPELIER - Lester Arlo Lougheed, 89, died early Monday morning, Nov. 1, 1999, at Genesis Eldercare, Eustis, Fla.
Born April 5, 1910, in Bridgewater Township, he was the son of Minnie M. (McCrea) and John L. Lougheed. On Feb. 12, 1983 he married Ethel A. (Berry) and she survives.
Mr. Lougheed was a 1929 graduate of Montpelier High School and a farmer. He attended Fort Wayne (Ind.) Business school for two years, and was the Williams County auditor from 1958 to 1975.
He was a member of the Bridgewater Grange, the Williams County Farm Bureau, the State of Ohio Auditors Association, the Montpelier Masonic Lodge 547, the Scottish Rite and the former Odd Fellows Lodge in Cooney. Along with his wife, Ethel, he was involved in puppet ministry and other secular programs. He was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church in Montpelier and attended the First Baptist Church in Tavares, Fla.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Lougheed is survived by a son, John (and wife JoAnn) Lougheed of Bryan; a daughter, Mrs. Lavon (Mary Sue) Coy of Pioneer; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Lougheed was preceded in death by his first wife, Isabelle in 1981; a sister, Doris; and two great-grandchildren.
Suggested memorials are to St. Paul's Methodist Church in Montpelier or the First Baptist Church in Tavares, Fla.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier.
Services will be held Thursday 11 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist with the Revs. Harry Jordon and David Andersen officiating.
Interment
will be at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier.
Herma Sutton
(1904- 1999)
WALDRON, Mich. - Herma F. Sutton, 95, of Waldron, Mich., died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at Fulton Manor, Wauseon.
Born April 10, 1904, in Franklin Township, she was the daughter of Clara L. (Schaffner) and Martin Sayers. On Dec. 25, 1923, she married Clifford Sutton and he survives.
Mrs. Sutton was a cook at RiceÕs Restaurant, DeMor Hills Golf Course, and at Indian Meadows restaurant. She was the oldest living member of the Fayette United Methodist Church, and had been a member of the WomenÕs Society at the church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Janice) Figgins; a son, Wendell (and wife Margaret) Sutton, all of Fayette; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Sayers; and two sisters, Mary Morningstar and Gladys Claypool.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home. Funeral services are Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette, with the Rev. Gerald Frazee officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Fayette United Methodist Church.
Oakley J. "Bergie" Bergman
(1925 - 1999)
HICKSVILLE - Oakley J. "Bergie" Bergman, 74, early Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Ind., where he had been a patient for the past week. Born Aug. 9, 1925, in Bryan, he was the son of Dale and Jessie (Fisher) Bergman. Mr. Bergman graduated from Bryan High School with the class of 1943. During World War II, Mr. Bergman served with the U.S. Marines. On Feb. 1, 1946 he was united in marriage with Jeanne Brandon in Stryker, and she survives. The Bergmans moved to Hicksville in 1948.
Mr. Bergman was a member of the Hicksville American Legion and the Hicksville Eagles Lodge. He worked for the Kroger Company as a meat cutter for 27 years, the Goldenetz Market in Hicksville for 17 years, and Cline's Market in Hicksville for 16 years, retiring in 1999. In addition to his wife, Mr. Bergman is survived by one son, Ron Bergman, Bryan; two daughters, Sandy Sholl, Hicksville; Deb Johnson, New Haven, Ind.; one brother, Denver Bergman, Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Edna Wagner, N. Fort Meyers, Fla.; Betty Kemp, Edgerton; four grandsons; one great-grandson.
Friends may call at the Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville, after 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31. Funeral Services will be in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, with Pastor Fred Brandon officiating. Burial be in the Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville. Military services will be conducted by the Hicksville V.F.W. and American Legion.
Preferred memorials are to the American Diabetes Association or the donor's choice.
Betty Jean Wallace
(1942 - 1999)
Betty Jean Wallace, 57, of rural Bryan, died early Friday morning, Oct. 29 in Harbored Care Center of Northwest Ohio after a brief illness.
Born Jan. 13, 1942 in Defiance County, she was the daughter of Erodes C. "Bud" and Doors (Underfeed) Severs. She married Bud E. Wallace on Nov. 15, 1963 in Edgerton and he survives. Mrs. Wallace was a nurses aide at Parkview Nursing Center In Edgerton for 22 years.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Wallace is survived by one son, David Wallace, of Bryan; her mother, Doris Seevers, Bryan; four sisters, Carol Card, Edgerton; Connie Hulbert, Bryan; Rosemary Rice, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; Linda Nolan, Tallassee, Alabama; two brothers, Robert Seevers, Edgerton; and Jerry Seevers, Hudson, Ind. She was preceded in death by her father, one brother, Samuel Seevers and one sister, Peggy Scroggins.
Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1.
Services will be Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 1:30 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Woolum officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.
Memorials in the name of Betty J. Wallace may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
