SHADY SPRING - June E. Blevins, 78, of Shady Spring, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2003 at the Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial Division following a short illness.
Born October 15, 1925 in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Steven and Nova Trail Miller.
She was a homemaker and attended the Grace Gospel Church at Daniels.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Blevins; a son, Julius M. Blevins; two brothers, Donald Miller and Virgil Miller; a sister, Ester Carlton; and a nephew, Douglas Collins.
Survivors include four sons, James Russell Blevins and wife Shelby of Adwolfe, Va., Jerry W. Blevins and wife Faye of Bandy, Va., Jeffery D. Blevins and wife Barbara of Massillon, Ohio, and Jay J. Blevins and wife Cheryl of Quinton, Va.; two daughters, Janet N. Ward of Shady Spring and Judy D. Doane and husband Charles of Madison, S.C.; a daughter-in-law, Georgia "Tiny" Blevins of Saltville, Va.; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Edith Collins of Swanton, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Naomi "Pete" Hughes of MacArthur; one aunt, Autie Leo of Grosse Point Woods, Mich.; two nieces and five nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley with Pastor Charles Bright officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Louise Kincaid Hicks
MEADOW BRIDGE - Louise Kincaid Hicks, 72, of Meadow Bridge, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2003 at her home following a long illness.
Born April 3, 1931 in McKendree, she was the daughter of the late Emmitt and Evelyn Gwinn Daniels.
She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Howard and Eliza Gwinn; her first husband, Jesse A. Kincaid; her second husband, Everett Hicks; as well as a daughter, Norma Gail Kincaid; a sister, Lucille Fortune; and a granddaughter, Brittany McMenamin.
Survivors include two daughters, Delsie Morton and husband Henry of Meadow Bridge and Debbie McMenamin and husband Dennis of Elkridge, Md.; one step-daughter, Susan Fleshman of Rainelle; three sons, Dencil Kincaid and wife Mae of Beckley, David Kincaid and wife Ann of Meadow Bridge, and Jesse A. Kincaid, Jr. and wife Carole of Baltimore, Md.; three step-sons, Terry and Billy Hicks of Meadow Bridge, and Everett Hicks, Jr. of Danese; a special friend, Gregory Lewis of Lockbridge; nine grandchildren, Dencil Kincaid II, Trena Bowman, Heather Walters, Jennifer Schoolcraft, Josh Kincaid, Jesse Alfred Kincaid, Jesse A. Kincaid, III, Bobby McMenamin and Matthew McMenamin; nine step-grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and three step-great grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Wallace and Wallace Chapel in Rainelle with the Pastor Steve Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Kincaid Family Cemetery on Backus Road in Meadow Bridge.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from the hours of 6 until 9 p.m.
The family gives a special thanks to Hospice and the people at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center and HomeCare Plus.

Michael Kendall Jones Sr.
WHITESVILLE - Michael Kendall Jones Sr., of Seng Creek Road, Whitesville, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2003 following a long illness.
Born July 3, 1941 in Dorothy, he was the son of the late Josh C. Jones and Ethel L. Stover Jones.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Marie Jones and a son, David Jones.
Survivors include his children, Charlotte Canterbury of Naoma, Joyce Pettry of Elkins, Michael K. Jones Jr. of Dorothy and Michael Eugene of Cleveland, Ohio; six granddaughters; two brothers, Joe Eddie of Rock Creek and Raphael (Buck) of Whitesville; and two sisters, Linda Wellard Runyon of Whitesville and Barbara Dickens of Whitesville.
Service will be 1 p.m. today at Valley Funeral Home, Whites-ville with the Revs. Jerry Pauley and Boyd Parcell officiating. Burial will follow in Pine View Cemetery at Orgas.
Friends may call one hour before the service today at the funeral home.

Tom Edward Lyons
BOLT - Tom Edward Lyons, 53, of Bolt, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2003 in Wheelersburg, Ohio following a long illness.
Born December 4, 1949 in Kopperston, he was the son of the late Tom and Arlene Carroll Lyons.
Mr. Lyons served in the U.S. Army, worked for Eastern Associated Coal Kopperston #1 as mine foreman for 15 years, and was a member of Masons Lodge #151 of Mullens and Shriners of Charleston.
Those left to mourn his passing are two sons, Quentin E. Lyons of Daniels and Presley E. Lyons of Bolt; three brothers, Robert Lyons and wife Polly of Jesse, Roby Lyons and wife Carolyn of Hatfield, Ky., and Richard Lyons of Matheny; two sisters, Donna Shockey and husband Francis of Copperhill, Va. and Yvonne Willard of Kenova; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Adam Toler Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Garry Hall officiating. Entombment will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny with full military honors by the Wyoming County Honor Guards.
Casketbearers will be family and friends.

Lova Myrl Cochran Mick
LESTER - Lova Myrl Cochran Mick, 94, of Lester, died Saturday, November 1, 2003 in a local care facility after a long illness.
Born June 1, 1909 in Raleigh County, Mrs. Mick was a homemaker and a member of the Lester First Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie Cochran; and by her second husband, Henry Jackson Mick.
She had been a resident of the Lester area most of her entire life.
Survivors include three sons, Gilbert Howard Cochran, Sr. and wife Peggy of Beckley, Charles Franklin Cochran and wife Rosemary of Dallas, Ga., and Max David Cochran and wife Patricia of Scarbro; four daughters, Barbara Helen Davenport and husband Bill of Rydal, Ga., Ruby Jean Morrison and husband Robert of Finksburg, Md., Dolly Mae Dickins and husband Paul of Brook Park, Ohio, and Patty Jo Gano and husband Ken of Longwood, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; and several great and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Lester First Church of God with the Rev. Dale Birchfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb Cemetery at Lester.
Friends may call at the Calfee Funeral Home, Beckley from 6 to 8 p.m. today and at the church one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Vida P. Plumley
HINTON - Vida P. Plumley, of 601 Ballengee St., Hinton, died Saturday morning November 1, 2003 in the Raleigh Center at Daniels following a long illness.
Born June 9, 1908 at Hinton, she was a daughter of the late Garfield and Mattie Richmond Lilly and had lived her entire life in Hinton.
She was a retired Chief Telephone Operator for the C & P Telephone Co., a member of the First Baptist Church of Hinton where she served as Sunday School Teacher and was active in the Philathea Class and the Mission Circle as long as health permitted.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Plumley; one son, John H. "Pat" Plumley, Jr.; one sister, Gloria O. Moten; and one brother, T. Harold Lilly.
Survivors include one granddaughter, Amy Ward of Hinton; two grandsons, Gary W. Plumley of Hinton and Tony Plumley of Slidell, La.; one great grandson, Partick Plumley of Hinton; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Plumley of Hinton; one great-granddaughter, Tiffany W. DeHart of Hinton; and a faithful Christian visitor and family friend, Mr. Jack Givens of Hinton.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Roy L. Honaker Jr. and Warren Gilpin officiating. Burial will follow in the Restwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral parlors.
Friends and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The Men's Bible Class of First Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Artie-Lda Shomo Reaser
ST. ALBANS - Artie-Lda Shomo Reaser, 86, of St. Albans, died at home on Sunday, November 2, 2003.
Artie was born on July 22, 1917 in Belington, the oldest of five daughters of the Rev. Arta Forrest and Musean Thomas Shomo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin D. Reaser; two of her sisters, Mary Shomo Richards and Sarah Shomo Huskey; and a granddaughter, Hilary June Reaser.
Artie spent most of her 86 years quietly and selfishly loving, sewing, praying, tending, supporting, and encouraging her family and friends. She was a woman of unusual wisdom and faith. Her life personified true Christianity: vision, determination, perseverance, meekness, faith, embracing the cross, love, and excellence. She quietly, yet powerfully, influenced many through her example and gentle acts of service, from a heart full of love.
Survivors include her daughter, Sally Reaser Davis and son-in-law, Richard of St. Albans; sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Mary Reaser of Salem, Va. and David and Linda Reaser of Cross Lanes; sisters, Jean Shomo Lemon of Parkersburg and Hazel Shomo Goller of Temple, Ga.; eight grandchildren, Rick Davis, Jack Davis, Robin Martin, Sarah O'Brien, Emily Bauer, Andy Reaser, Jaime Reaser-Good, and Joshua Reaser; four step-grandchildren, Alan and Phillip Powers, Tommy and Michael Meadows; 10 great-grandchildren, Chris, Kevin, Matt, Jared, and Bryan Davis, Jeremy and Jordan O'Brien, Hannah Bauer, Lauren and Colin Martin; several "dear to her" nieces and nephews, Artie Alice, Tommie Jean and Ellis, Patty and Brent, Jackie and George, Artie and Mike, Rosanna and Buddy, Donald, Mike and Randy, Bobby, Kaaren and Frank.
Memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at her home church, the Scott Depot Christ Fellowship, Scott Depot, with her pastors, Rev. Rodney L. Taylor and Rev. Larry Hammett officiating. Per her wishes, her body has been donated to the Human Gift Registry, her final act of service and giving to others. Judy Ann Burke
LESLIE - Judy Ann Burke, 62, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at her home following a short illness.
Born April 8, 1941, at Crichton, she was the daughter of Athelene Seabolt of Marfrance and the late Vangel V. Seabolt.
Mrs. Burke was a homemaker and of the Holiness faith. Many will remember her love for hostessing for such products as Home Interior and Avon, as well as others.
Mrs. Burke was also a powerful prayer warrior and good to visit many.
Survivors include her husband, Charles W. "Doonie" Burke; three sons, Michael and wife, Kimberly, of Leslie, Paul and wife, Marsha, of Rainelle and Seth and wife, Alison, of Rainelle; three daughters, Tacy Ann Patterson and husband, Terry, of Rainelle, Teresa Moreno of Rainelle and Cheryl Ball and husband, Roger, of Rainelle; a brother, Ron Seabolt and wife, Nancy, of Covington, Va.; a sister, Joy Spearman and husband, Jesse, of Greenwood, Ark.; and 11 grandchildren, Justin, Jacob, Madison and Lauren Burke, Johnny and Barbara Moreno, Brandon Blake, Caleb and Cendlelyn Stanley, and Tara and T.J. Patterson; as well as a host of other family and friends who loved her.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle, with Pastors Brother C.W. Clinedinst and Brother David Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.
Services will conclude with the release of the White Flights.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.

Beatrice Helen Grant
Beatrice Helen Grant, 92, of 219 Smoot Ave., Beckley, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, at SunBridge Pine Lodge Care and Rehabilitation following an extended illness.
Born April 3, 1911, at Dunloop, she was the dau-ghter of the late Charles Jackson and Maggie Jackson.
Mrs. Grant was a retired LPN, having worked in several hospitals in the area. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. At one time she served as assistant church clerk and served on the senior Usher Board and Willing Workers Club. She was also a member of the Socio-civettes Savings Club.
She was preceded in death by her children, Robert Woodson, Elvene Christian, James Woodson, Vivian Woodson and William Woodson; and a brother, Willie Calloway.
Survivors include her husband, Allen Grant; two sons, Wayne Woodson of Westbury, N.Y., and Michael Grant of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a stepson, Larry Grant of Columbus, Ohio; two daughters, Maggie Williams and husband, Eddie, of Rockville Centre, N.Y., Norma Parker and husband, Donald, of Beckley; two stepdaughters, Gail Grant and Joyce Grant, both of Columbus; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church, 304 Worley Road, Beckley, with the Rev. Nathaniel Carey officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
Friends may call one hour before service Saturday at the church.
