SOUTH RENOVO — Luther G. Summerson, 76, of 400 Fairview Lane, Renovo, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000 in Bucktail Medical Center, South Renovo.
Born Dec. 9, 1924 in Renovo, he was the son of the late Allen C. and Louise Graw Summerson.
He and his first wife, the former Shirley M. Mazzula, were united in marriage June 8, 1946. She preceded him in death Aug. 2, 1984.
He and his second wife, the former Sharon M. Wertz, were united in marriage May 13, 1986. She preceded him in death July 31, 1994.

LOCK HAVEN — Clarice W. Cummings, 87, of Lock Haven, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000 in Lock Haven Hospital.
Born in Lock Haven, Dec. 16, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Albert Ringer.
She was a devoted member of the Assembly of God Church in Mill Hall. She also was an avid bingo player and soap opera viewer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Cummings, in 1965, and by two brothers and a sister.

LOCK HAVEN — Ann Katherine Caruso, 73, of 6 Woodland Road, Lock Haven, a longtime owner and operator of Angelo’s Bar in Lock Haven, died Wednesday Dec. 27, 2000 in the extended care unit of Lock Haven Hospital.
Born Feb. 20, 1927 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Mary Cunningham Carlson.
She married Angelo A. Caruso in November of 1950 in Brookville. Her husband survives.

JERSEY SHORE — Helen E. Blackwell, 97, formerly of 301 S. Main St., Jersey Shore, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000 in Manor Care Health Center, Jersey Shore.
Born Feb. 7, 1903 in Jersey Shore, she was the daughter of John D. Blackwell and the former Ella Ruffhead.

LOCK HAVEN — Word has been received here on the death of Clara White Conway, 73, of Hamlet, N.C., formerly of Lock Haven, who died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000 in FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 16, 1927 in Taxi Hall, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Rufus “Dock” Bunyan and Susie Hildreth White.
She was married to Harold Conway, who was a retired merchant seaman and prisoner of war while serving the U.S. Army.

LOCK HAVEN — Lulabelle M. Bechtol, 95, formerly of 133 W. Keller St., Castanea, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000 in Susque-View Home, Lock Haven.
Born Dec. 3, 1905 in Jersey Shore, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Ida May Bailey Koch.
She and her husband, Samuel R. Bechtol, were united in marriage Nov. 8, 1921. He preceded her in death Jan. 21, 1975.

Born Nov. 15, 1927 in Beech Creek, he was the son of the late Thomas and Elsie (Loth) Kessinger.
A graduate of Lock Haven High School, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater.

ATLANTA, Ga. — Mary Susan (Speth) Keays, 47, of Atlanta, Ga., formerly of Lock Haven, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000 following a courageous lifelong battle with Type 1 juvenile diabetes and its complications.
Born Dec. 1, 1953 in Rochester, she was the daughter of Al Speth of Lock Haven and Marcella Speth of State College.

Born Aug. 30, 1915 in Mechanicsburg, she was the daughter of Boyd L. Martin and the former Ethel M. Hossler.
She and her husband, Roy C. Farling, were united in marriage on May 27, 1938. he preceded her in death Feb. 19, 1968.

His wife, the former Margaret R. Freezer, preceded him in death Dec. 24, 1996.
