She was born Jan. 31, 1916 in Lock Haven, the daughter of the late Boyd E. and Grace Mae Muthler Phillips.

Born Dec. 21, 1914 in Clarks Summit, he was the son of the late Harry H. and Lillian Rosenkrans Smith.
