John R. Dorwart Sr.
John R. Dorwart Sr., 77, died Friday, April 20, 2001 at the Lock Haven Extended Care Unit.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home Ltd., 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, with the Rev. Mark Woodring officiating. Interment
will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and from noon until service time on Monday.
Cora E. Gordon
Cora E. Gordon, 92, of McVeytown died Thursday, April 19, 2001 in the Malta Home for the Aging in Granville.
Born Oct. 18, 1908 in Brush Creek Township, Fulton County, she was the son of the late Daniel Miller and Frances Rice Miller.
She and George E., Gordon were united in marriage March 17, 1929 in Bellefonte.
Mr. Gordon preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 1982.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, in the Wetzler Funeral Home, 206 North Spring St., Bellefonte. The Rev. William Danis will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Bellefonte. Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of services.

Dorothy L. King
Dorothy L. King, 64, of 348 Linden Circle, Lock Haven, died April 19, 2001 at the Lock Haven Hospital E.R., after being stricken at home.
She was born Oct. 1, 1936 in Lock Haven, and was the daughter of the late Elmer and Sarah Coble Irvin.
Mrs. King was married to Irvin Elwood King, who preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 1992.
Funeral services will be Sunday, April 22, 2001 at 2 p.m. in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Officiating will be Capt. Daniel Hilty of the Lock Haven Salvation Army. Interment
will be at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received in the funeral home Sunday afternoon, one hour prior to the services.
Memorials will be accepted to the American Lung Association or the American Diabetes Association through the funeral home.
Floyd E. Snook
Floyd E. Snook, 84, formerly of Jersey Shore, died Wednesday, April 18, 2001 in the Good Samaritan Health Care in Kissimmee, Fla.
Born Oct. 20, 1916 in Loganton, he was the son of Lee Snook and the former Stella Stamm.
He was united in marriage on Feb. 11, 1938 in Mill Hall to the former Dorothy M. Brungard. She preceded him in death on Oct. 18, 1987.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday evening in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Rosecrans.

Edith K. Bennett
Edith K. Bennett, 82, of 155 S. Jones St., Lock Haven, died April 12, 2001 in Susque-View Home.
Born Oct. 1, 1918 in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Rose Miller Klein.
She was married to Henry C. Bennett in 1945.
Graveside services will be 4:30 p.m. Friday in the Beth Yehuda Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Rabbi Helen Bar-Yacov will officiate.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
Marie I. Raymond
Marie I. Raymond, 82, of 567 S. Fairview St., Lock Haven, died Thursday, April 12, 2001 in Lock Haven Hospital.
She was born April 17, 1918 in Gallipolis, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and
In 1940, in Lock Haven, she married William V. Raymond, who was killed in action on Luzzon Island in the Philippines in 1943, during World War II.
Funeral services will be at the Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven, Tuesday, April 17, at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Capt. Leslie M. Hilty of Lock Haven Salvation Army. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

George (Lee) Jones
George (Lee) Jones, 76, of Hyner, died at Bucktail Medical Center, Monday, April 16, 2001.
He was born in Renovo on Nov. 13, 1924, son of the late Cam and Agnes Kenworthy Jones.
His wife, Betty Jane Heck Jones, whom he married in Renovo on April 7, 1945, survives. Funeral services will be be held at Maxwell’s, 205 Fifth St., Renovo, at 2 p.m. Friday, with Rev. Mahlon Nevel officiating. Interment
will follow in North Bend Cemetery. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
Rose R. Rickard
Rose R. Rickard, 80, of Temecula, Calif., formerly of Lock Haven, died Sunday, April 15, 2001 at Rancho Springs Medical Center of Murrieta, Calif.
Born Oct. 28, 1920 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Constantine and Lena Renzo Rocco.
She was a 1940 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, Lock Haven.
She married Clayton M. Rickard on April 30, 1949, in St. Agnes Church Rectory, Lock Haven. He died on Feb. 25, 1985.
Graveside services will be at Dunnstown Cemetery, Friday, April 20 at 9:30 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Neil R. Dadey of St. Agnes Church. Friends will be received at the Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven, Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m., with a wake service at 7:30 p.m.
Michael S. Crawley
Michael S. Crawley, 83, of Baltimore, Md., died April 7, 2001 in Maryland.
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Crawley.
His wife, survives.

Jennings E. (Jiggs) Ransdorf
Jennings E. (Jiggs) Ransdorf, 79, of Renovo, died at Bucktail Medical Center on Sunday, April 15, 2001.
He was born in Lock Haven on March 15, 1922, son of the late Joseph and Etta Tripp Ransdorf.
His wife, Margaret Cleveland Ransdorf, whom he married on Oct. 31, 1942 in Curwensville, sufvives. Memorial funeral services will be at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo, at 11 a.m. Thursday, with Pastor John Godissart officiating. Interment
will follow in North Bend Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorial donations are requested to the Bucktail Medical Center Expansion Fund or the American Lung Association.

Dorothy M. Robb, 84, of 123 Central Ave., Avis, died Saturday, April 14, 2001 in the Sycamore Manor Nursing Home in Montoursville.
Born Dec. 29, 1916 in McElhattan, she was the daughter of Allen E. McKague and the former Mable Crocker.
She was united in marriage to Newton E. Robb on Dec. 25, 1935. He preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 2000.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 19, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. in the Trinity Lutheran Church, corner of Reed and Highland streets, Avis. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening, in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. The Rev. Steven Brauner and the Rev. George Doran will officiate.

Ray L. Fenstemacher, 68, of Wichita, Kan., died April 15, 2001.
He is survived locally by two sisters, Betty Bower and Doris Giles, both of Lock Haven.
Memorial services will be Sunday in Wichita, Kan.

Victor E. Romeo
Victor E. Romeo, 85, of 200 S. Jones St., Lock Haven, died Friday, April 13, 2001 in ManorCare Health Services, Jersey Shore.
Born April 30, 1915 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Stephen and Carmel Guerriero Romeo.
He was a 1933 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
On Oct. 11, 1940 in Lock Haven at St. Agnes Church Rectory, he married Gladys Beck, who survives.
Funeral services will be at St. Agnes Cemetery Chapel on Tuesday, April 17, at 3 p.m. with Rev. Neil R. Dadey officiating. Interment
to follow. There will be no visitation.

Walter E. (Hop) Holdren
Walter E. (Hop) Holdren, 59, of Loganton, died Friday, April 13, 2001 in his home.
Born Dec. 12, 1941 in Lock Haven, he was the son of Russell and Helen Holdren of Tylersville.
He was married to Bonnie L. (Courter) Holdren of Loganton on May 21, 1960. She survives.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2001 in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 95 E. Main St., Loganton. The Rev. Kay Schwab of the Albright United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment
will be in Union Cemetery, Tylersville. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2001 in the funeral home.

Larry M. McCloskey
Larry M. McCloskey, 93, formerly of Jersey Shore, died Saturday in ManorCare North in Williamsport.
He was born Sept. 16, 1907 in Beech Creek, a son of Allan and Effie McCloskey.
His wife, Edith May Heverly, died Feb. 8, 1979.
Funeral services will be private at his family’s convenience. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, and there will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Jersey Shore.

John Harris Corter, 56, of 106 E. Keller St., Castanea, died April 16, 2001 in his home.
Born Aug. 21, 1944 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late John H. and Vivian Carpenter Corter.
He was married to Wanda L. Workman Corter on Feb. 15, 1972 in Mansfield. She survives at home.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. April 18, 2001 in the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall. Interment
will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Wesley J. Settle, 42, of Pleasant Gap, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001 in Centre Community Hospital.
He was born Feb. 10, 1959, the son of James W. and Karen Herr Settle of Bellefonte. He was married to the former Sharon Corman, who preceded him in death.
Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2001 at Pleasant Gap United Methodist Church, 179 S. Main St., Pleasant Gap with the Rev. Kevin Locker officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetary at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Jonathan Reidel officiating.
