ENGLEWOOD, Fla. — Howard B. Underwood, 87, of Englewood, Fla., formerly of Lock Haven, died Sunday, March 18, 2001, in Englewood.
Mr. Underwood started Underwood Greetings in Flemington in 1950.
He moved to Florida in 1987 following the death of his wife, Mildred B. Underwood.
He had also been employed by Penn Woven in Lock Haven for many years.
Memorial services were held in Florida.

Joseph O. Reeder,

STATE COLLEGE — Joseph O. Reeder, 71, of Runville, died Friday, March 23, 2001, in the Centre Community Hospital in State College.
Born Sept. 22, 1929 in Tyrone, he was the son of Boyd and Inez Woomer Reeder.
He was married to the former Helen F. Confer, she survives.

Born Aug. 18, 1967 in Lock Haven, he was the son of Larry L. and Linda Peter Laubscher Sr. of R.R. 2 Lock Haven.

Dorothy G. Kreamer,

PALMYRA — Dorothy G. Kreamer, 92, of Palmyra, formerly of the Avis area, died Wednesday, March 21, 2001 in the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, Palmyra.
Born July 18, 1908 in Loganton, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Linnie Mabel Brunner Lamey.
She was married to William H. Kreamer. He preceded her in death March 26, 1979.

Joseph O. Reeder,

STATE COLLEGE — Joseph O. Reeder, 71, of Milesburg, died Friday, March 23, 2001 in Centre Community Hospital, State College.
Arrangements are under the directions of the W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, 837 Main St., Howard.

PALMYRA — Dorothy G. Kreamer, 92, of Palmyra, formerly of Avis, died Wednesday, March 21, 2001 in Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, Palmyra.
She was married to William H. Kreamer, who preceded her in death in March of 1979.
Arrangements are being handled by the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore.

Born Nov. 16, 1952 in Blossburg, she was the daughter of Robert and Valeria Martin of State College.
She and her husband, Dennis W. Rishel, were united in marriage on Sept. 30, 1995. He survives at home.

Elinor Viola Ruhl,

WILLIAMSPORT — Elinor Viola Ruhl, 85, of ManorCare Health Services, Williamsport, formerly of Hillside Drive, Lock Haven, died Monday, March 19, 2001 in ManorCare Health Services.
Born May 11, 1915 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late George B. and the former Elva Young Litz.
She was married to Ralph R. Ruhl, who preceded her in death March 11, 1969.

Keith W. Kline,

VERO BEACH, Fla. — Keith W. Kline, 73, of Vero Beach, Fla., died Wednesday, March 14, 2001, in Vero Beach, after a brief illness.
Born Sept. 30, 1927 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late William E. and Gladys B. Kline. He was a 1945 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
He was first married to Audrey Erhard for 27 years. She preceded him in death.
He later was married to Sheila Kline for 12 years. She survives.

Esther W. Kistner Larson,

LOCK HAVEN — Esther W. Kistner Larson, 96, of Susque-View Home, Lock Haven, formerly of McKeesport, died Thursday, March 15, 2001 in Susque-View Home.
She was born Oct. 16, 1904 in McKeesport.
She was married to C. Herbert Larson Sr. He preceded her in death.

LOCK HAVEN — Janel Haydee Long, nearly three months old, of 722 Bellefonte Ave., Apt. 4, Lock Haven, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 17, 2001 in Lock Haven Hospital, after being stricken at home.
Born Dec. 25, 2000 in Geisinger Medical Center, she was the daughter of Shawn and Amanda Embick Long.

Shirley M. Boyer,

LOCK HAVEN — Shirley Marie Boyer, 75, of Lock Haven, died Friday, March 16, 2001 in her residence.
Born Feb. 8, 1926 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Hickok.
She and her husband, James W. Boyer, were married Nov. 13, 1967 in Lock Haven. He preceded her in death in February of 2000.

Neil McCloskey,
Jersey Shore native
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Neil McCloskey, 73, of Camp Hill, formerly of Altoona, died Sunday, March 18, 2001 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Born July 4, 1927 in Jersey Shore, he was the son of the late Bethel and Edna (Hoy) McCloskey.
His wife, the former Helen M. Somerville, survives. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Shrine Children’s Hospital Fund or Zembo Shrine Endowment Fund, both in care of Zembo Shrine, 2801 N. Third St., Harrisburg, Pa. 17110.

Clair F. McCormick
Long-time area auto dealer dies
LOCK HAVEN — Clair F. McCormick, 94, of 325 Susquehanna Ave., Lock Haven, the longtime owner of the McCormick Ford dealership in this area, died Saturday, March 17, 2001 in Susque-View Home, Lock Haven.
McCormick and his wife, Sara Marie, ran the dealership for 30 years. The business was located on Hogan Boulevard, Bald Eagle Township, from 1976 to its closing on March 15, 1997.
Born Oct. 8, 1906 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late J. Frank and Emma Elizabeth Fry McCormick.
He and Sara M. Shea were united in marriage on Sept. 12, 1928 in the Immaculate Conception Church in Lock Haven. His wife preceded him in death on May 14, 1995.

Arthur Bennett ‘Ben’ Stephens Sr.

LOCK HAVEN — Arthur Bennett “Ben” Stephens Sr., 63, of 47 Hickory Drive, Lock Haven, died Saturday, March 17, 2001 at his home after a short illness.
Born April 1, 1937 in Clarence, Centre County, he was the son of the late Arthur and Ruth Brown Stephens.
He and his wife, Erlene Styers Stephens, were united in marriage Jan. 19, 1957. She survives

Born April 28, 1953 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of Shirley Alice Carson of Avis, stepfather Merrill Carson of Avis, and the late Glen Ray Bay.
She had worked for Homemakers Help Services as a caregiver.
She and her husband, Robert E. Laubach of Jersey Shore, were united in marriage May 7, 1971.

LOCK HAVEN — Helene C. Passell, 86, of 144 Cottage Lane, Mill Hall, died Saturday, March 17, 2001 in the extended care unit of Lock Haven Hospital.
Born Dec. 7, 1914 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Sarah Caprio Astolf.
She and Fred M. Passell were united in marriage Oct. 2, 1937.
Mr. Passell died Sept. 24, 1997.

Richard B. Kitchen,

LOCK HAVEN — Richard B. Kitchen, 77, of R.R. 2 Mill Hall, died Saturday, March 17, 2001 in the Lock Haven Hospital.
Born Sept. 28, 1923 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Leo and Leah Honetor Kitchen.
He and his wife, the former Jennie E. Shady, were united in marriage June 10, 1944 in Lock Haven. She survives.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Living Faith Free Methodist Church or the American Heart Association through the funeral home.

DUNCANSVILLE — Gillian Leigh Gority, 3, of 643 Harvest View Lane, Duncansville, died suddenly Tuesday, March 6, 2001 in Bon Secours-Holy Family Hospital. She is the great-granddaughter of R. Elsie Harris of Lamar.
Born Oct. 3, 1997, she was the daughter of Rick and Michelle (Parvin) Gority. She attended T.L.C. Preschool in Altoona.

Mathias W. Parker Sr.,

LOCK HAVEN — Mathias W. Parker Sr., 93, of Lock Haven, formerly of Blanchard, died Wednesday, March 14, 2001 in Lock Haven Hospital.
Born July 7, 1907 in Boalsburg, he was the son of the late John and Stella Lucas Parker.
He and his wife, the former Ethel Howard, were united in marriage Nov. 24, 1934. She preceded him in death Feb. 2, 1988.

Celia K. Grey,

JERSEY SHORE — Celia K. Grey, 96, of 128 Long Road, Jersey Shore, formerly of Meridian, died Wednesday, March 14, 2001 in ManorCare Health Center, Jersey Shore.
She was born Oct. 28, 1904 in Verona.
She was a school bus driver for Shriver Bus Co. in Butler for many years, and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Butler for many years.
She was married to the Rev. Robert R. Grey, and together they owned the Robert R. Gray Realty Co. He preceded her in death in May 1989.

Amelia W. Robbins,
formerly of Renovo
NORRISTOWN — Ameila Welsh Robbins, 94, of Norristown, formerly of Renovo and Bryn Mawr, died Wednesday, March 14, 2001 in Mercy Suburban Hospital, Norristown.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo.

Jean ‘Mabel’ McCloskey,

WILLIAMSPORT — Jean “Mabel” Casale McCloskey, 84, of 1424 Richards Ave., died Wednesday, March 14, 2001 in ManorCare Health Services, Williamsport.
She was the wife of Ralph S. McCloskey, who was from the Lock Haven area. He survives.
Born May 8, 1916 in Naples, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Rose Cioffi Casale.

Eugene E. Reighard,

JERSEY SHORE — Eugene E. Reighard, 119 Elm St., Jersey Shore, died Thursday, March 15, 2001 in Jersey Shore Hospital. His wife is the former Catherine Lundy.

Keith W. Kline,

VERO BEACH, Fla. — Keith William Kline, 73, of Florida, died Wednesday, March 14, 2001 in Indian River Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born Sept. 30, 1927 in Lock Haven. He became a Florida resident in 1969.
His wife, Sheila, survives. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to VNA Hospice, 1111 36th St., Vero Beach, Fla. 32960 or to the Vero Beach Humane Society, 4701 41st St., Vero Beach, Fla. 32967.

Danny F. Merrifield,

LOCK HAVEN — Danny F. Merrifield, 54, of 700 Woods Ave., Lock Haven, died Thursday, March 15, 2001 in Lock Haven Hospital, following a brief illness.
Born Feb. 23, 1947 in Lock Haven, he was the son of Richard and Doris (Newberry) Merrifield of Lock Haven. He was a 1965 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
He and his wife, the former Carol A. Hamm, were married Nov. 29, 1980. She survives.
