Westley F. Kurtz
Westley F. Kurtz, 71, of Renovo, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 20, 2002 at Bucktail Medical Center, where he had resided for the past two and a half months.
He was born in South Williamsport on May 2, 1931, a son of the late John and Dorothy Lowery Kurtz.
His wife, Elda (Moore) Kurtz, survives. Memorial funeral services will be held at Renovo Methodist Church at 12 p.m. Saturday, July 27, with Pastor Ann Runnels officiating. Interment
will follow in North Bend Cemetery. Full military services will be held at the graveside. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. The family will provide the flowers and request memorial donations to Bucktail Medical Center in his memory.

Calvin Webster Lupold
Calvin Webster Lupold, 75, of 123 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, died Monday, July 22, 2002 in the Williamsport Hospital.
Born April 20, 1927 in Avis, he was the son of Alfred H. Lupold and the former Elizabeth M. Fisher.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 25, at 1 p.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Bellevue Cemetery in Avis. Rev. Mark Woodring will officiate.
Beatrice M. “Bea” Marconi
Beatrice M. “Bea” Marconi, 85, a resident of the Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit, formerly of 7 Locust Lane, Lock Haven, died Sunday, July 21, 2002 at the Extended Care Unit.
She was born July 7, 1917 in Lock Haven, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Anna Scambatti Marconi.
The funeral Mass will be Friday, July 26, at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church with the Rev. Sean Code officiating. Friends will be received at the Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home,112 E. Church St., Lock Haven, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. with the Alpine Star Lodge service at 7:30 p.m. and the Vigil for the Deceased at 8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery, Lock Haven.

Marian Pursley Pedlow
Marian Pursley Pedlow, 87, of Lock Haven, died Saturday, July 20, 2002, at Lock Haven Hospital, after a four-month stay in Extended Care.
Born Dec. 23, 1914, in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Constance Irvin Pursley.
Marian and George Wesley Pedlow Jr., of Chester, wed at Great Island Presbyterian Church on June 27, 1942, he preceded her in death in 1988.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Great Island
Presbyterian Church, 12 W. Water St., Lock Haven, with Pastor Kenneth Page officiating and the Rev. Russell L. Looker, pastor emeritus, contributing a message of faith. Friends and family will be received in the church social hall after the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions in Marian's name be made to either the Ross Library or the Clinton County Historical Society through the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven.
Jerry W. Miller Jr.
Jerry W. Miller Jr., 75, of 340 Long Run Road, P.O. Box 62, Salona, died July 20, 2002 at his home.
He was born Nov. 5, 1926 in Lock Haven and was the son of the late Jerry W. and Gertrude Burd Miller Sr.
He was married Feb. 20, 1948 to Barbara Boyle Miller, who survives.
Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Dunnstable Township. There will be no visitation. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be accepted to the St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, 1175 W. Fourth St., Lock Haven. Arthur W. Bartley
Arthur W. “Art” Bartley, 83, of 896 Long Run Road, Mill Hall, died July 21, 2002 in Lock Haven Hospital.
Born May 17, 1919 in Jacksonville, he was a son of the late Edward and Frain Bartley.
He and the former Kathryn V. Bailey were united in marriage Aug. 28, 1943 in Howard. She survives.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, at the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall. The Rev. John W. Confer will officiate. Interment
will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Rosecrans. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
David A. Ammerman Sr.
David A. Ammerman Sr., 85, of 697 Woods Ave., Lock Haven, died July 21, 2002 at his home.
Born March 31, 1916 in Fallen Timbers, he was a son of the late George and Vera Rice Ammerman.
He and his wife, the former Pauline E. Newberry, were married Feb. 16, 1946. She survives.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, 231 High St., Flemington. Capt. David Stout and Maj. Daniel Hilty will officiate. Interment
will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Salvation Army.
Lois A. Kauffman
Lois A. Kauffman, 47, of Bellefonte, died Saturday, July 20, 2002 at her home.
Born Dec. 17, 1955, in Lock Haven, she was a daughter of the late Harold E. Dolan and Ethel M. Wolfe Dolan of Bellefonte.
She married Teral D. Kauffman on Sept. 25, 1993, in Jacksonville. He survives.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, 837 Main St., Howard. The Rev. Dale Sattizahn and the Rev. Marge Holland will officiate. Interment

Sfc. (retired) Richard A. Yost, 60, of Lawton, Okla., died Wednesday in a Fort Sill hospital.
He was born in Lock Haven to William and Mary Elizabeth (High) Yost.
His wife, Ursula, survives.

Joseph E. Reeder
Joseph E. Reeder, 74, of 10 Greenwood Ave., Castanea, died July 19, 2002 at his home. He had been in failing health for a number of years.
He was born Jan. 15, 1928 in Lock Haven, a son of the late Joseph D. and Minnie B. Plumbly Reeder.
He was married Jan. 16, 1953 tao Gladys E. Jodun Reeder, who survives.
Memorial services for Joseph E. Reeder will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2002, at 3 p.m. at the Lock Haven Assembly of God Church, 320 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall. Officiating will be Pastor Wayne H. Hixon of the Lock Haven Assembly of God Church. There will be no visitation. interment

Lena R. Walker, 67, of 25 W. Park St., Avis, died July 18, 2002 at Sycamore Manor.
Born Dec. 9, 1934 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Frank B. and Edna M. Schon Reeder. She was the widow of Lt. Col. Herbert J. Walker, who died Feb. 12, 1999.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with her pastor, the Rev. Drew Wilkerson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Eldred Township. Visitation will be Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Robert M. Weaver, 55, of Noll Drive, Mill Hall, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at his home.
Born Nov. 11, 1946 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Maurice Weaver, and Fontella Weaver Smith, who survives.
He married the former Janice S. Sereno, Oct. 8, 1971. She survives.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at 1 p.m. in the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall, with Pastor Kerry Aucker officiating.

Martha R. Rossman, 76, of 6 Rogers Lane, Loganton, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002 in the Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit.
Born in Logan Township on Oct. 6, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Franklin Tressler and Fairy Teressa Greninger Tressler.
She and Ira C. Rossman Sr. were maried in Loganton on Jan. 18, 1947. He survives.

Born June 15, 1913 in Booneville, she was the daughter of the late John E. Fidler and Anna M. Wolfe Fidler. Her husband, George S. Mark, died in March 1976.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Wayne P. Urbine Funeral Home Inc., Main and Water streets, Loganton, with the Rev. Anke Deibler officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Loganton. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Wilma H. Fravel
Wilma H. Fravel, 79, of 125 W. Keller St., Castanea, died July 17, 2002 in the Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit.
Born Feb. 14, 1923 in Swissdale, she was a daughter of the late Alvey and Mary Branning McBride.
She and her husband, Joseph E. Fravel, were married for 62 and a half years, he survives.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home Inc., Flemington. Memorial contributions may be made to Castanea Community United Methodist Church.
Sara P. Cotner
Sara P. Cotner, 76, of R.R. 2 Watsontown, died July 17, 2002 in the Kramm Nursing Home, Watsontown.
She was born in Flemington, Oct. 26, 1925, a daughter of the late Daniel R. and Alger (Fultz) Shade.
She and her husband, Richard L. Cotner, would have celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on July 25, he survives.
Friends and relatives will be received in the church Sunday from 1 p.m. until time of services. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Watsontown United Methodist Church with her pastor, the Rev. Douglas Eberley, officiating. Richard W. (Dick) Huggins, 68, of 1371 Clayton Ave., Williamsport, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002 in the Williamsport Hospital.
He was married to the former Mabel L. Aderhold. They observed their 48th wedding anniversary on May 29, she survives.
He was born May 30, 1934 in Williamsport, a son of Allen and Lois Calkins Huggins.
A funeral service will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at New Hope United Methodist Church, 1157 Market St., Williamsport, with Rev. M. Joyce Gensib, his pastor, officiating. There will be a visitation from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Interment
will be in the Green Lawn Memorial Park.

Charles E. “Chick” Shade, 91, of 750 Herr St., Flemington, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002 in Susque-View Home.
Born April 29, 1911 in Flemington, he was the son of the late James and Sarah Shade.
His wife, Lurlean Smith Shade, died in 1987.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2002 in the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, with Rev. Mark Riley officiating. Interment

Clair J. Glossner, 83, formerly of 522 Frederick St., Flemington, died Monday, July 15, 2002 in Bethany Village Manor, Horseheads, N.Y.
Born April 22, 1919 in Blanchard, he was the son of the late Hugh and Martha Johnston Glossner.
His wife, Helen M. Glossner, died Jan. 15, 2001.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 18 in the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, with Revs. Viola Tyson and Jerry Cline officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park.

Richard Allen “Dickey” Christian
Richard Allen “Dickey” Christian, 54, of Level Corner Road, Linden, died Sunday, July 14, 2002, at his home, where he had fought a battle with a rare form of cancer.
He was born Dec. 28, 1947 in Linden, a son of Jay Paul and Elizabeth Bedford Christian.
On Nov. 13, 1967, he married the former Shirley Ann Lezak, who survives.
The celebration of Mr. Christian’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 18 from the Pine Run United Methodist Church, with his pastor, Rev. Judith Hulslander, officiating. Burial will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery. Friends may call at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Jersey Shore, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Mr. Randy E. Lohr, 41, of 516 Deer Hill Road, Lock Haven, died early Monday morning, July 15, 2002 in the Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit.
Born March 15, 1961 in Lock Haven, he was the son of Donald D. Lohr and the former Maude E. Smith.
His mother and father, survive.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, July 17, at 10 a.m. in the Lighthouse Wesleyan Church, 220 High St., Jersey Shore, with Rev. Gary DeWitt, his pastor, officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in the Centre County Memorial Park. Contributions in his name may be made to the Lighthouse Wesleyan Church.
