Margaret Savin Beyer, 80, formerly of Philadelphia, died in Delray Beach, Fla., on May 26, 2002.
She was born in Renovo on Nov. 20, 1921, daughter of the late David and Stella (Gerenia) Whitman.
Margaret is survived by her husband, C. Robert Beyer of Boynton Beach, Fla.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Monday with Fr. Donald Boslett officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Hyner. The family will receive friends in the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo, from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Wake services at 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. The family will provide the flowers, and memorials are requested to the Down Syndrome Foundation in her memory.
Maxwell Funeral Home of Renovo is in charge of the arrangements.

Gordon C. “Tom” Pardee
Gordon C. “Tom” Pardee, 74, of 111 Oak St., Jersey Shore, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at ManorCare Health Services in Jersey Shore.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Greta May Anderson Pardee, Feb. 27, 1978.
Gordon was born on April 26, 1928 in Hastings. He was the son of the late Edward S. Pardee and Sylvia M. Lloyd Pardee. who survives.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2002 at Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, a “Life Celebration Home,” 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, with the Rev. John Libert, pastor of Trinity United Methodist, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
The family will provide the flowers. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 East Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701

Mark R. Mayes
Mark R. Mayes, 71, of 908 W. Third St., Lot 16, Lock Haven, died Thursday, May 30, 2002 in Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit.
Born Sept. 10, 1930 in Marsh Creek, he was a son of the late George T. and Arizona Walker Mayes.
Arrangements are being made by the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., Flemington. Burial and services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation.

Gerald S. Lacy
Gerald S. Lacy, 78, of Central Avenue, Renovo, died Wednesday, May 29 at Williamport Hospital.
He was born Sept. 22, 1923 in Renovo, a son of the late Clarence and Mary Fawcett Lacy. A 1941 graduate of Renovo High School, he married the former P. Francis Wagner on June 6, 1943 in Renovo, she survives. They would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary this June.
A private funeral will be held Saturday, June 1 at Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo with the Rev. Elaine Silverstrim officiating. Burial will be in North Bend Cemetery. The family will provide the flowers.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church or Bucktail Medical Center.

Harry C. Masterson
Harry C. Masterson, 86, of R.R. 2, Mill Hall died Friday, May 31, 2002 in the Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit, where he had been a patient for a short time.
He was born March 15, 1916 in Lock Haven, a son of the late William and Ethel Gahagan Masterson. He married Betty Bauman Masterson on Jan 4, 1943. She preceded him in death Dec. 1, 2000.
Private burial and services will be at the convenience of the family in the Highland Cemetery, Lock Haven with Pastor Robert D. Kitchen of the United Lutheran Church officiating. There will be no visitation.
Memorials will be accepted to the Lock Haven Salvation Army through the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven.

Kathryn M. Martin
Kathryn M. Martin, 79, of Bellefonte, died Friday, May 31, 2002 at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of W. Robert Neff Funeral Home in Howard and will be announced when completed.

George M. Haagen
George M. Haagen, 78, of 1897 Youngdale Road, Lock Haven, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002 in ManorCare Nursing Home in Williamsport.
He was born Jan. 24, 1924 in Beech Creek, the son of the late Richard Peal and Annie Peters Haagen. He and his wife, the former Betty Mowery, were married in Altoona on Oct. 26, 1946. She survives.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 31, 2002 at 10 a.m in the Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home, Lock Haven, with Father Dan Kovalak officiating. Burial will be in the Linnwood Cemetery, McElhattan. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Orthodox Church, the American Heart Association, or the Community Nursing Service of Clinton County.

Philip G. Arnone
Philip G. Arnone of Houston, Pa. died Thursday, May 23, 2002 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born July 12, 1925 in Meyersdale, a son of Samuel F. and Carmella Ross Arnone.
On Nov. 21, 1948, he married Phyllis A. Ardizzone, who survives.
A mass of Christian Burial was held on Memorial Day in St. Patrick's Church, Canonsburg, with full military rites. Interment was in Forest Lawn Gardens Cemetery, McMurray. Memorial donations may be made to Philip Arnone Instrumental Music Scholarship Fund in care of Melody Sharp; FAME, 232 W. Pike St., Canonsburg, Pa. 15317.

A. Jane Hefferon
A. Jane Hefferon, 78, of 622 Girard St., Mill Hall, died Saturday, May 25, 2002 in Albany Medical Center in Albany, N.Y.
Born May 13, 1924 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Charles L. and Helen C. McMann Prickelmyer.
She was a 1942 graduate of Mill Hall High School and was a member of the Friends of the Old Mill Hall School and a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Immaculate Conception Church with Father Daniel O’Neill officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, 231 High St., Flemington.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Immaculate Conception Church.

Sherry L. Serafini
Sherry L. Serafini, 52, of 800 Bressler St., Lock Haven, who died Friday, May 24, 2002 at her residence, was also survived by step-relatives.
Her father and step-mother, Harold E. and Velma Shoemaker of Lock Haven both survive. Her companion, Joseph Smolko, survives..
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, in the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, “A Life Celebration Home,” 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 p.m.

Stephanie M. Fausey
Mrs. Stephanie M. Fausey, 28, of 939 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, died Saturday morning, May 25, 2002 at her home.
Born March 29, 1974 in Jersey Shore, she was the daughter of Jeffrey Ohl and the former Cheryl Braim. She is survived by her husband Shane T. Fausey. They were united in marriage Aug. 15, 1999 and had been together since 1992.
Her mother of Jersey Shore and father of Fayetteville, North Carolina both survive.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, May 30, 2002 at 10 a.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, Pa. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. The Rev. Drew A. Wilkerson, her pastor, will officiate.
The Fausey family would like to thank everyone who has provided them with the many acts of kindness and community support that they have received during Stephanie’s illness.

Geraldine “Jeri” Lockhart
Geraldine “Jeri” Lockhart, 68, of Renovo, died at her home on Friday, May 24, 2002.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, at the Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home Inc., 1034 Benner Pike, State College. Friends will be received from noon until the time of the service Wednesday in the funeral home.

Linda McFarland Barrett
With great sadness, the Barrett family of Pine Station announces the death of their daughter-in-law and sister-in-law, Linda, who passed away at her home in Lakeland, Fla., on May 24, with her loving family by her side.
Born Jan. 14, 1948 in California, she married James Barrett in January, 2002, he survives.
The Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. The remains will be returned to California for burial.

Sherry L. Serafini
Sherry L. Serafini, 52, of 800 Bressler St., Lock Haven, died Friday, May 24, 2002 at her residence. She was born in Lock Haven Feb. 25, 1950, a daughter of Harold E. and Betty Jayne Kissell Shoemaker. Her father survives and is from Lock Haven.
Her companion, Joseph Smolko, survives.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2002 in the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, “A Life Celebration Home,” 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, with the Rev. Marie E. Lewis, pastor of the Swissdale United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Her family suggests contributions be made to the Asthma Foundation of America, 1233 Second St., N.W., Suite 402, Washington D.C., 20036.

Steven L. Nichols
Mr. Steven L. Nichols, 43, of Shady Acres Lane, Antes Fort, died Friday, May 24, 2002 at his home.
Born Feb. 28, 1959 in Jersey Shore, he was the son of Richard R. Nichols and the former Elaine F. Badman.
His mother of Antes Fort, survives.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at 1 p.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Friends may call from noon Tuesday until the time of services at the funeral home. The Rev. Richard C. Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park.

Dorothy M. Harter, 83, formerly of 339 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002 in the Valley View Nursing Home.
Born Aug. 28, 1918 in Jersey Shore, she was the daughter of Gilbert H. Bower and the former Ruth L. Poorman.
Her husband, Gerald, survives.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. There will be no public visitation. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. Father Andrew Hvozdovic will officiate.

Arlene B. Patterson
Arlene B. Patterson, 63, of 228 Oak Hollow Road, Lock Haven, died Thursday, May 23, 2002 in the Lock Haven Hospital.
Born Dec. 27, 1938 in Tylersville, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Margaret Brunner Vance. She married Lester C. Patterson on April 7, 1989. He survives.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, with the Rev. Mark Riley officiating. Friends will be received in the funeral home Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. with an Order of Eastern Star Service at 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Dunnstown Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 2680, North Canton, Ohio 44720.

Tiffanie M. Saar, 17, 741 Rockey Road, Loganton, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002 from injuries in a motor vehicle accident.
Born Feb. 14, 1985 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Edward C. Saar Jr. and the former Mildred M. Fox.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 24, at 1 p.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. until time of services in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. The Rev. Richard C. Jones will officiate.

Eric W. Hackenberg
Eric W. Hackenberg, 19, of 1655 Long Run Road, Mill Hall, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002 in Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Snydertown. Pastor Jean M. Horman of St. Mark’s will officiate. Burial will be in Snydertown Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall.

Rev. William Emert
Broadcasting pioneer Rev. William Emert, 81, of Roaring Spring, went to be with the Lord, May 21, 2002.
He was born Nov. 13, 1920 in Mill Hall, to R.C. Emert and Alice Brungard Emert, both deceased.
He was married to Dorothy Eleanor Bledsoe in Huntington, W.Va., on June 23, 1946. She preceded him in death on July 13, 1977.
Viewing and family visitation hours on Thursday, May 23, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bolger Funeral Home, 111 E. Allegheny St., Martinsburg. On Friday, May 24, viewing and family visitation will be in Philipsburg at the Dalhgren Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Dalhgren Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Dull of Altoona officiating. Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to Christian Radio Station WJSM, R.R. 2, Box 87, Martinsburg, Pa. 16662.

Helen G. Hoffman
Mrs. Helen G. Hoffman, 95, of 683 Lorson Road, Williamsport, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at her home.
Born Jan. 8, 1907 in Greenwich Village, New York City, she was the daughter of Patrick J. Browne and the former Josephine Morris. She was united in marriage Sept. 4, 1933 to Francis L. Hoffman. He preceded her in death Aug. 3, 1989.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 24 at 11 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. There will be a Rosary Service at 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. Father Robert Busteed will officiate.

Roberta G. Veley
Roberta G. Veley, 75, of Summit Point, W.Va., died Wednesday, May 22, 2002 in the Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Charles Town, W.Va.
She was born Oct. 24, 1926, the daughter of Victor D. and Mary Daniels Gross.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25 from the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, “A Life Celebration Home,” Jersey Shore, with her pastor, Thomas Blake, officiating. Burial will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.

David J. Tomasi, 64, of West Church Street, Mill Hall, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002 in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born July 26, 1937 in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Joseph Tomasi and Margaret Sviontek Tomasi of Mt. Pleasant.
He married the former Marie “Toni” Lorelli. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Aug. 26, 2001, she survives.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 23, 2002 at 1 p.m. in St. Agnes Catholic Church, 7 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven, with Father Neil Dadey officiating. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall. There will be a wake service at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The family will provide the flowers.

Katherine L. Keifer
Katherine L. Keifer, 95, a resident of the Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit, died May 21, 2002 in the hospital.
She was born in Dunnstable Township, Jan. 24, 1907, and was the daughter of the late John and Emma Allabach Weaver.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Keifer, who died March 14, 1993.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 23, 2002 at 11 a.m. in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Officiating will be Rev. Norman Evans of the Woolrich Community United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the St. John’s Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received in the funeral home Thursday morning one hour prior to the services.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home.

Howard E. Steppe Sr.
Howard E. Steppe Sr., 82, of Howard Lane, Jersey Shore, died Monday, May 20, 2002 at his residence.
He was born July 24, 1919 in Nippenose Township, a son of John and Helena Shuhler Steppe.
He was married Oct. 27, 1941 to the former Jane Shutt who survives.
Christian prayer services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2002 from the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, “A Life Celebration Home,” Jersey Shore, with Rev. Robert T. Busteed officiating. Burial will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 8 p.m.

Winifred Selfe Stabley
Winifred Selfe Stabley, 89, formerly of 287 Stabley Road, R.R. 1, Lock Haven, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002 in the ManorCare Health Services in Jersey Shore, where she had been a resident for a little over a year.
She was born in Dunnstown, Dec. 8, 1912, and was the daughter of the late John and Sarah Brunner Selfe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Guy (Chick) Stabley, who died Aug. 7, 1978.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 24, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. in the McElhattan United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Pastor Heather Baker of the McElhattan United Methodist Church. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the McElhattan United Methodist Church through the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven, which will be handling the arrangements.

Francis “Prune” G. Probst
Francis “Prune” G. Probst, 79, of Rear 27 Market St., Lock Haven, died Tuesday May 21, 2002 in Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit.
Born Sept. 24, 1922 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Milton and Stella Von Gunden Probst.
His wife, Jane E. Welsh Probst, died Sept. 10, 2000.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, 231 High St., Flemington, with Rev. Viola Tyson officiating. Burial will be in Dunnstown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Lock Haven Hospital Recreation Department.
