John W. MacMillen
John W. MacMillen, 79, of 103 Bella Vista Road, Montoursville, died Monday, May 20, 2002, in Williamsport Hospital.
Born Nov. 16, 1922 in Elmira, N.Y., he was a son of Ernest W. and Ellenor R. Millage MacMillen.
He and his wife, the former Verna Campbell, celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on Oct. 11, 2001, survives.
The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. in All Saints Episcopal Church, 1656 Scott St., Williamsport, with Rev. Daren K. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Montoursville Cemetery. Friends may call at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Steven M. Eliason
Steven M. Eliason, 40, of 1308 Almond St., Williamsport, died Monday, May 20, 2002 in Williamsport Hospital.
Steven was born March 6, 1962 in Bellefonte. He was the son of Richard and Gail Eliason of North Bend and Enetta Sargent of Phoenix, Ariz.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 23 at noon in the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall, with the Rev. Donald Boslett officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Interment
will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hyner.
Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics of Clinton or Lycoming County, through the funeral home.

Edna Faye Bottorf Holmes
Edna Faye Bottorf Holmes, 93, formerly of Putnam Manor, died Friday, May 17, 2002 in Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit.
She was born Dec. 22, 1908 in Orviston, a daughter of the late Robert M. and Helen A. Bigony Bottorf.
Her first husband, Merl Bicksler, preceded her in death; her second husband, Harold J. Holmes, died in 1969.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, May 22, at 2:30 p.m. in Flemington United Methodist Church, 225 High St., Flemington, with Rev. Ellen J. Evans officiating. Interment
will be in Highland Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall.
Memorial contributions may be made to Flemington United Methodist Church.
Peter Lewis Stevenson
With great sadness, the family wishes to announce that Peter Lewis Stevenson died peacefully on May 14, 2002 in War Memorial Hospital, Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., after a valiant struggle against emphysema and cancer.
Born July 23, 1919 in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, the only child of Dr. Lewis and Helen Stevenson (nee Campbell).
He married Doris Joyce Huntley in 1944 (deceased in 1989). Friends may wish to make memorial donations to the American or Canadian Lung associations or their local library.

Ruth R. Cunningham
Ruth R. Cunningham, age 88, formerly of Star Route, Lock Haven, died May 17, 2002 at the residence of her grandson John L. Cunningham Jr. in Avis. She had been in failing health for a number of years.
Mrs. Cunningham was born Jan 12, 1914, a daughter of the late Lynn and Tillie Hoffman Bropst.
Mrs. Cunningham was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Robert Cunningham who died April 18, 1984.
Funeral services for Ruth R. Cunningham will be held on Monday, May 20, 2002 at 11 a.m. in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Interment
will be in the Woolrich Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Haneyville Fire Co. through the funeral home.

Nathan U. Sweitzer, 94, of 20015 Georgia Ave., Brookville, Md., died July 30, 2001 in the Sharon Nursing Home in Sandy Springs, Md.
Born April 16, 1907 in Oval, he was the son of Ernest Wilson Sweitzer and the former Sarah Koons.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mildred Ruths, in 1985.
Burial and services in the Oval Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.

Master Sgt. Paul E. Orndorf, 60, of Lakewood, Wash., died April 25, 2002.
Born Aug. 13, 1941 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Ruth B. Orndorf.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne.
Services were held at the Aspen Chapel Mt. View Celebration of Life Center with Father James Coyne officiating. Interment
was in Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, Wash., with full military honors at graveside and casket bearers provided by the United States Army.

Kathleen A. “Katie” Himmel, 8, of South Renovo, died in Bucktail Medical Center on Friday, May 10, 2002.
She was born on Dec. 11, 1993 in Williamsport, daughter of Gary and Catherine (Fedele) Himmel.
A Mass of the Angels will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Renovo, with Father Donald Boslett officiating. Interment
will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the mass. The family will provide the flowers. William R. “Bill” Baer, 57, of Federal Avenue, Williamsport, died Saturday, May 11, 2002 in the Williamsport Hospital.
Born Feb. 21, 1945 in Lock Haven, he was the son of Dorothy McClure Bilbay.
His wife, the former Doris I. Confer, survives.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sanders Mortuary, Williamsport. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Kathryn Jean Hard, 84, formerly of Carrol Valley, Fairfield, died Saturday, May 11, 2002 in Centre Crest, Bellefonte, where she had been a resident since July 1998.
She was born Oct. 31, 1917 in Clintondale, the daughter of the late R.C. and Lola E. Armes Shilling.
She was married to Medric A. Hard Jr., who preceded her in death in 1980.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, Main and Water streets, Loganton. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home until the time of the service. Interment
will be at the convenience of the family in Fairview Cemetery, Loganton.

She is survived by her husband, Delbert L. Quick.

Clementino G. Ciccarelli, 81, of 870 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, died May 6, 2002 in the Williamsport Hospital.
He was born Jan. 26, 1921 in Williamsport, the son of Michael and Adelina Taddeo Ciccarelli.
He and his wife, the former Marion A. Kyler of Lock Haven, celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary April 12.
Christian Mass was celebrated May 8 in Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, and burial was in Mount Carmel Wildwood Cemetery.
Joseph L. Shadle
Joseph L. Shadle, 95, of Harrisburg, formerly of North Bend, died Sunday, May 5, 2002 in Harrisburg.
He was the son of the late John H. Shadle and Anna Mable Hiller Shadle.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam McGee Shadle.
SA memorial service will be held May 18 in St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pembrook.

He is survived by his wife, the former Gertrude Yearick.

Lester C. “Pete” Fravel, 68, of 1 Mordred Drive, Mill Hall, died Thursday, May 9, 2002 in the Lock Haven Hospital Emergency Room.
Born Feb. 19, 1934 in Howard, he was the son of Glenn S. Fravel of Howard and the late Grace Wert Fravel.
He and his wife, Linda Rupert Fravel, were married July 18, 1959 in Howard, she survives.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2002 in the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall, with Pastor Kenneth Louden of Hillview Wesleyan Church officiating. Interment
will be in Hayes-Fearon Cemetery, Beech Creek. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association through the funeral home.

Charlotte M. (Paul) Caffas, 81, of Central Avenue, Farwell, died Monday, May 6, 2002 at her home.
She was born Oct. 26, 1920 in Renovo, the daughter of the late Preston and Catherine Wolf Paul.
She was married to John L. Caffas Sr., who preceded her in death in 1988.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 10, at noon in the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo, with the Rev. John Godissart officiating. Burial will follow in North Bend Cemetery. Friends will be received Thursday, May 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. The family will provide the flowers.
