Nellie A. Quay, 68, of Mill Hall died Friday, Feb. 22, 2002 in Susque-View Nursing Home, Lock Haven.
Born Nov. 12, 1933 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late James P. and Edna G. Williams O’Connor.
She had been married to Richard H. Quay of Bellefonte.
Graveside services will be Saturday, March 2, at 1 p.m. in Schenck’s Cemetery, Howard Township. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Marqueta Isabelle Ishler, 93, of Howard, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, in her home.
Born Jan. 14, 1909 in Hublersburg, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Jennie Vonada Guiser.
She married Dr. Harold L. Ishler on Nov. 1, 1939. He preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1997.
Funeral services will be Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, at 1:30 p.m. in the Howard First United Church of Christ, Main Street, Howard. The Rev. Dale L. Sattizahn will officiate. Burial will be in Hublersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. in the W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, 837 Main St., Howard.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First United Church of Christ, Main Street, Howard, Pa. 16841.

Dorothy E. Flanigan
Dorothy Evelyn Flanigan, 86, of Fox Street, Avis, died Feb. 21, 2002, at her residence. She had been in failing health for the last three years.
Born in Mackeyville on April 12, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Rollin and Bertha Williams Flanigan.
She was married Aug. 19, 1941 to Alpheus Albert Flanigan. He preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 1989.
Funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, at 11 a.m., in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Officiating will be Pastor Mark D. Woodring of the Avis United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Lamar Township. Friends will be received in the funeral home on Monday morning, one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, or the Avis United Methodist Church through the funeral home.

Marion E. Grassley
Marion E. Grassley, 73, formerly of Lock Haven, died in the Jefferson Manor Health Center in Brookville.
She was born in Lock Haven, May 14, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Austin and Florence Seybold Grassley.
Graveside services will be Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, at 2 p.m., in the Dunnstown Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. James VanZandt of the Covenant United Methodist Church. There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven.

Helen B. (Boyd) Drabic
Helen B. (Boyd) Drabic, 72, of Milford and formerly of Renovo, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, at the home of her son in Newton, N.J.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo.

Edward R. ‘Ray’ Troutman
Edward R. “Ray” Troutman, 90, of South Renovo, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, in Bucktail Medical Center.
Born May 2, 1911 in Seven Stars, he was the son of the late Aaron K. and Annie Hockenbrock Troutman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam, in 1998,
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo, with Pastor Ann Runnels officiating. Burial will follow in the North Bend Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
The family will provide the flowers. Memorials are requested to the Bucktail Medical Center or FAST Ambulance Service.

Helen E. Rockey
Helen E. Rockey, 92, of Mingoville, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, in Centre Crest Nursing Home, Bellefonte.
Born July 12, 1909 in Clintondale, she was the daughter of William C. and Anna Billet Bierly.
She was married to Herbert G. “Bezzie” Rockey on June 30, 1927. He survives.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at 10 a.m. in the W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, Howard. The Rev. David L. Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home. The family suggests contributions be made to the Hublersburg Trinity United Church of Christ or Centre Crest Auxiliary, 502 E. Howard St., Bellefonte.

Geolanda Lee ‘Jou’ (Whiteley) Schmidt
Geolanda Lee “Jou” (Whiteley) Schmidt, 34, of Philipsburg and Renovo, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, in Johnstown.
Born Feb. 4, 1968 in Juneau, Alaska, she was a daughter of George and Gertrude Trefters Whiteley.
She married Roger G. Schmidt on Aug. 13, 1994. They celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary last August, he survives.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo, with Father Donald Boslett officiating. Burial will follow in the North Bend Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
Memorials are requested to the Renovo Fire Department.

Robert H. Day
Robert H. Day, 85, of 33 Pineview Drive, Lock Haven, formerly of Somerset, died Feb. 19, 2002, in the Lock Haven Hospital.
Born July 23, 1916 in Blaine, W. Va., he was the son of the late Benjamine and Bertie (Iser) Day.
Devoted husband and father, he is survived by his wife, Margretta (Holsopple) Day, to whom he was married 52 years. A memorial service will be at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, West Union Street, Somerset, on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at 3 p.m., with Rev. Glen Sadler officiating. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Somerset at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, West Union Street, Somerset, Pa. 15501, or to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, 231 High St., Flemington.

Walter L. Boob, 71, of Beech Creek, died Feb. 18, 2002, in Jersey Shore ManorCare.
Born Oct. 4, 1930 in Howard, he was the son of the late Samuel L. and Mary A. Weaver Boob.
He was married to Mary E. Lindsey Boob who died Oct. 14, 2001.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, at 11 a.m. in the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, 231 High St., Flemington. The Rev. Alan Eckenroad will officiate. Burial will be in Hayes-Fearon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Ruth Martin Blush, a native of Lock Haven, born Nov. 26, 1915, has died.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Kenneth A. Blush, a native of Castanea, born Oct. 13, 1913.

Brig. Gen. Hall F. Achenbach
Brig. Gen. Hall F. Achenbach, 94, of Pine Haven, Lock Haven, formerly of 426 W. Main St., Lock Haven, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002 in Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit.
Born Feb. 14, 1908 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Guy Hall and Anne Freed Achenbach.
He attended Penn State for a year and graduated in 1934 from Lock Haven University, where he met his wife, Elizabeth Fredericks Fullmer. They were united in marriage Nov. 26, 1936 in Great Island Presbyterian Church, Lock Haven, she survives.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 21, at 2:30 p.m. in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven, with full military honors. Officiating will be Rev. Kenneth Page of the Great Island Presbyterian Church and Maj. Daniel Hilty of the Lock Haven Salvation Army. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends will be received in the funeral home Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. with Masonic services at 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the donor’s favorite local charity.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home.

Harrison E. Murty
Harrison E. Murty, 80, of 401 W. Fourth St., Lock Haven, died Feb. 17, 2002, at the Lock Haven Hospital. He had been in failing health for a short time.
He was born in Lock Haven, Nov. 2, 1921, and was the son of the late Eugene and Nellie Berry Murty.
He was married for 42 years to Pauline Gunsallus Murty, whom he married on Dec. 31, 1960, she survives.
Memorial services will be Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, at noon, in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Officiating will be John F. Harvey Jr., elder of the First Church of Christ in Lock Haven. Friends will be received in the funeral home on Thursday morning from 11 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Dunnstable Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted to the American Lung Association or the First Church of Christ, through the funeral home.

Helen Joann Ferree
Helen Joann Ferree, 65, who died in Lock Haven Hospital on Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, is survived by sons, Benjamin R. (Vivian) Ferree Jr. of Joliet, Ill. and Curtis L. (Mary) Ferree of Lock Haven.

Evelyn Victoria Landon
Evelyn Victoria Landon, 96, who was born June 21, 1905 in White Pine, Cogan House Township, where she lived most of her life, died Thursday, Feb. 14 in Valley View Nursing Home, Montoursville.
She was one of 12 children born to the late Wilbur S. and Sara J. Miller Bonnell.
Mrs. Landon was preceded in death by her husband, Harry F. Landon, in 1973.
Services were 11 a.m. today in the White Pine United Methodist Church, White Pine. R. Ken Gunter presided. Interment followed in Summit Cemetery, adjacent to the church. The family provided the flowers and requests that memorials be made to the White Pine United Methodist Church.

Elena T. Lasko
Elena T. Lasko, 83, of 303 Smith St., Jersey Shore, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, in Rose View Manor.
Born May 14, 1918 in Patterson, N.J., she was the daughter of Nicholas Pietroniro and the former Frances Lapuzz.
She was united in marriage Aug. 1,1947 to William H. Lasko, who preceded her in death May 25, 1982.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002 at 10 a.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. Father Andrew Hvozdovic will officiate.

Helen Joann Ferree
Helen Joann Ferree, 65, died in Lock Haven Hospital on Friday, Feb. 15, 2002.
She was born in Lock Haven on May 17, 1936, a daughter of Verna M. Yocum Peasley of Dunnstown and the late Morris E. Peasley.
Surviving is her husband, Benjamin R. Ferree, whom she married on March 31, 1951 in Maryland.
Private family services were held at the graveside in Cedar Hill Cemetery at 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor Bill Louden officiating. Memorials are requested to the American Heart Association.
Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall, was in charge of the arrangements.

Margaret M. Caprio
Margaret M. Caprio, 92, of 425 E. Bald Eagle St., Lock Haven, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, in the Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit.
She was born Oct. 3, 1909 in Hastings, the daughter of the late George and Mary Aleksa Bills.
In 1939, she married Gerard M. Caprio, who preceded her in death April 9, 1987.
The Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Agnes Catholic Church. Friends will be received in the Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven, Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Burial will be in the St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery, Lock Haven.

Debra Kay Orndorf
Debra Kay Orndorf, 47, of Lamar, died at her residence on Friday, Feb. 15, 2002.
She was born in Lock Haven on Nov. 11, 1954, daughter of Richard and Helen (Bowman) Munro of Mill Hall.
Surviving is her husband, Dean H. Orndorf Sr., whom she married on Sept. 27, 1968 in Mill Hall.
Funeral services will be in the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with Pastor Mark Riley officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials are requested to the Dunnstown Fire Company.

Lloyd P. Bowes
Lloyd P. Bowes, 62, of 1911 Susquehanna Ave., Renovo, died Feb. 16, 2002, in the Williamsport Hospital.
Born Sept. 23, 1939 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Charles and Stella Weaver Bowes.
He was married to Gerry Taylor Bowes on Jan. 11, 1972 in Mill Hall. She survives.
Memorial services will be Feb. 21, 2002, at 11 a.m., in the First United Methodist Church, Renovo. Pastor Ann Runnels will officiate. Burial will be in North Bend Cemetery. There will be no public visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clinton Unit of the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall.

Clair ‘Slick’ K. Sunderland
Clair “Slick” K. Sunderland, 87, formerly of 321 Wright St., Flemington, died Feb. 17, 2002 in Williamsport Hospital.
Born March 14, 1914 in Sharon, he was the son of the late Albert F. and Stella B. Knarr Sunderland.
His wife, Ruth Evelyn Tate Sunderland, preceded him in death.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002 at 2 p.m. in the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, 231 High St., Flemington, with Rev. Ellen Evans officiating. There will be no visitation. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Hazel L. Baker McCloskey
Hazel L. Baker McCloskey, 86, of 308 Wright St., Flemington, died Feb. 18, 2002 in Lock Haven Hospital.
Born Aug. 11, 1915 in Dravosburg, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Maude Kessinger Williams.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Y. Baker, in 1978. Her second husband, Leroy McCloskey, died in 1991.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002 at 11 a.m. in the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, 231 High St., Flemington, with visitation one hour before the service. Rev. Dr. Edward Thigpen will officiate. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to diabetes research through the Order of the Amaranth.

Mildred M. (Maffett) McCracken, 76, formerly of Grove Street, Lock Haven, died Thursday, Feb.14, 2002 at the Lock Haven Extended Care Unit.
She was born July 4, 1925 in Avis, a daughter of the late James and Carrie Visco Maffett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond S. McCracken in 1958
Graveside services at Cedar Hill Cemetery will be Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Abernathy officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Boulevard, Mill Hall.

Addison F. Kreamer
Addison F. Kreamer, 84, of 2612 St. Paul Road, Chambersburg, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, in Penn Hall, Chambersburg.
He was born June 29, 1917 in Horse Valley, Franklin County, a son of the late Frank and Ruth Rosenberry Kreamer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, E. Louise Truckenmiller Kreamer, who died Sept. 27, 1996.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002 at 11 a.m. in the Oakville United Methodist Church, Shippensburg. Officiating will be the Rev. J. Grant Brouse. Burial will be in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, West Pennsboro Twp., Cumberland County. The viewing will be Monday evening from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg, and one hour prior to the services in the church.

Anthony P. “Don” Guerriero, 77, of 204 Susquehanna Ave., Lock Haven, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, in the Centre Community Hospital, State College.
He was born June 18, 1924 in Frankstown, the son of the late Orlando and Rose Bruno Guerriero.
On March 4, 1946 in the St. Agnes Catholic Church, Lock Haven, he married the former Helen M. McCartney, who died Oct. 39, 1994.
A Funeral Mass will be Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at 9:30 a.m. in St. Agnes Catholic Church, Lock Haven, with the Rev. Neil Dadey officiating. Friends will be received in the Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven, on Friday evening from 6 to 9 p.m., with a wake service at 7:45 p.m. Burial will be in St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sisters Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, IHM Center, 2300 Adams Ave., Scranton, Pa. 18509.

Malden G. Adams
Malden G. Adams, 83, of Fulmer Personal Care Home, 201 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven, died Feb. 13, 2002, in the home.
He was born Oct. 30, 1918 in Wilkensburgh.
There will be no visitation and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
