Anthony P. “Don” Guerriero, 77, of 204 Susquehanna Ave., Lock Haven, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, in the Centre Community Hospital, State College.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven, and will be announced when completed.

Gene E. Andrus Jr.
Gene E. Andrus Jr., 47, of Mill Hall, died Feb. 12, 2002, in the Lock Haven Hospital Emergency Room.
Born March 29, 1954 in Lock Haven, he was the son of Gene E. and Mable Fuller Andrus, who survive.
He and Mary Ann Ferree Andrus were married on Jan. 29, 2000 in Snydertown. She survives.
Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. Pastor Jean Harmon of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Snydertown, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Mill Hall. There will be no visitation. Contributions may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church in care of Sharon Sheasley, secretary, 111 Oak St., Howard, Pa. 16841.
Arrangements are being handled by the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall.

Mildred F. Hall
Mildred Fay Hall, 84, of Shintown, passed away on Monday, Feb. 11 at the Bucktail Medical Center, following a brief illness.
Born on Oct. 7, 1917 in Renovo, she was the daughter of the late Milo and Ella Watkins Ross.
She attended the Westport and West Renovo schools.
On June 11, 1936 in Lock Haven, she married the late William Hall.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo, with the Rev. John Godissart officiating. Burial will follow in the North Bend Cemetery. Friends will be received Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. An Eastern Star service will be Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shintown United Methodist Church Building Fund, North Bend Parish United Methodist Women, or Bucktail Medical Center, in her memory.

Gene E. Andrus Jr.
Gene E. Andrus Jr., 47, of Mill Hall, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002 at the Lock Haven Hospital Emergency Room.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall, and will be announced when completed.

John C. Catherine Sr.
John C. Catherine Sr., 78, of 120 Wilson St., Jersey Shore, died early Monday morning in the emergency room of Jersey Shore Hospital, after he had been stricken at home.
He was born in Morrisdale, Oct. 7, 1923, a son of Carl J. and Theresa Mussari Catherine.
He was married Feb. 23, 1952 in Sts. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church in Philipsburg, to the former Josephine Mencer, who survives. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this month.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002 from the Church of St. Luke, 118 Kendall Ave., Jersey Shore, with his priest, Rev. Andrew S. Hvozdovic, the officiating celebrant. Interment will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery with military honors being accorded by representatives from McGuire Air Force Base and the Jersey Shore American Legion and V.F.W. Friends may call at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, “A Life Celebration Home,” on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Christian Vigil services will be observed at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, along with military rites at 9 p.m. His family suggests contributions be made to the Jersey Shore Area Veterans Council in care of Stanley Schall, treasurer, 347 Cemetery St., Jersey Shore, Pa. 17740.

Blair Andrew Heaton
Blair Andrew Heaton, 86, of Southaven, Miss., died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002.
Mr. Heaton was born and raised in the Lock Haven area, and married to Marie Catherine Heaton.
Funeral services will be Wednesday in Mississippi.

Audrey S. Mohn
Friends, neighbors, and business associates of Audrey S. Mohn are cordially invited to a celebration of her life on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002.
The memorial service will be in the Jersey Shore Presbyterian Church, South Main Street, at 3 p.m. Light refreshments will be served in the Sunday school room after the service.

Jacqueline ‘Jacquie’ Heba Spritzler Stiefel
Jacqueline “Jacquie” Heba Spritzler Stiefel, 77, of 906 Washington Ave., Lewisburg, died at 3:20 a.m., Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, in Riverwoods, Lewisburg, where she had been a patient since Nov. 30, 2001.
She was born Aug. 12, 1924 in Philadelphia, the only daughter of the late Joseph Spritzler and Beatrice Davis Spritzler. She was married on March 10, 1946 to the late Harold R. “Stief” Stiefel, who died May 28, 1988. Together they celebrated 42 years of marriage.
The funeral was conducted at noon, Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, in the J. Levine and Sons Memorial Chapel Inc., 4737 Street Road, Trevose. Burial was in the Roosevelt Cemetery Memorial Park, located at Roosevelt Boulevard and Old Lincoln Highway, Trevose.
There will be Shiva services on Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 13 and 14, 2002, at 7 p.m., at Jacquie’s home located at 906 Washington Ave., Lewisburg.

Amy R. Letterman
Amy R. Letterman, 82, of ManorCare, Jersey Shore, and formerly of Avis, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, in the Jersey Shore Hospital.
She was born in Lamar in December of 1919, the daughter of Abe and Stella Keene.
Her husband, Charles E. Letterman Sr., died in 1990.
Funeral services and interment will be at the convenience of the family. Rearick-Carpenter, “A Life Celebration Home,” of Jersey Shore is in charge of arrangements.

Murray Hyatt Thompson
Murray Hyatt Thompson, 84, of 140 Thompson Lane, Mill Hall, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002 in Lock Haven Hospital.
Born Sept. 6, 1917 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Randolph Hyatt and Nan Houser Thompson.
He was married to Nancy Jean West Thompson on Aug. 2, 1941. She survives.
Memorial services will be held Monday, Feb. 11, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. in Great Island Presbyterian Church, Lock Haven with Rev. Kenneth Page officiating. Cremation arrangements are being handled by the Cremation Society of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg.
Contributions may be made to Great Island Presbyterian Church, Lock Haven.

Jamie Lee Winder, 17, of 88 Opp Lane, Muncy, died on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002 as a result of an automobile accident at the intersection of Route 447 and Opp Lane in Moreland Township.
He was born Nov. 7, 1984 in Williamsport, the son of Daniel and Cheri Lyons Winder, III.
Funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 11, 2002 at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Lucy Temple, Certified Lay Minister at Moreland Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a trust established in Kayla and Kristin Winders’ names at any Sovereign Bank location.

Joyce E. Dreibelbis
Joyce E. Dreibelbis, 54, of Lamar, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002 as a result of an automobile accident.
Born March, 3, 1947 in DuBois, she was a daughter of the late James and Amanda Shinley Bailey.
She married Dennis R. Dreibelbis Sept. 4, 1971 in State College. He survives at home.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 11, 2002 at 10 a.m. at the Mt. Bethel United Church of Christ in Lamar with the Revs. Dale L. Sattizahn and Marge Holland. Burial will be at Mt. Bethel Cemetery in Lamar. Visitation will take place Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, 837 Main St., Howard.

Dorothy M. “Dot” Pletcher, 78, of Blanchard, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002 at Lock Haven Hospital.
Born July 6, 1923 in Beech Creek, she was a daughter of the late Charles H. and Annie Kessinger Smith.
She married Paul W. Pletcher Sr., “Brownie,” Aug. 27, 1943. He survives at home.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Baptist Cemetery, Blanchard.

Frances Roberts “Sis” Smith, 96, a longtime resident of Lock Haven, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002 at Presbyterian Home of Moshannon Valley.
She was born Jan. 24, 1906 in Easton, Md., a daughter of the late Frank L. and Emma E. (Wallace) Roberts.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park with the Rev. Kenneth G. Page officiating. Friends will be received Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Boulevard, Mill Hall.
Memorial contributions may be made to Presbyterian Home of Moshannon Valley, P.O. Box 551, Philipsburg, Pa. 16866.

Joseph E. Welshans
Mr. Joseph E. Welshans, 76, of 1379 Middle Road, Jersey Shore, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002 at his home.
Born May 7, 1925 in Rauchtown, he was the son of William E. Welshans and the former Vera M. Bailey.
He is survived by his wife, the former Evelyn L. Lehman. They were united in marriage May 30, 1947.
Funeral Services will be Monday, Feb. 11, 2002 at 1 p.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 North Main Street, Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Limestone Cemetery. Rev. Dennis E. Crissman will officiate.

Catherine Elsie Mokle, 85, a resident of Centre Crest Nursing Home for 34 years, died Wednesday.
She was born May 20, 1916 in Curtin Township, and married William Mokle, who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker.
Surviving is a daughter, a sister, three granddaughters, and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, Howard. Visitation will be one hour prior to services

Mrs. Leola L. Coleman
Mrs. Leola L. Coleman, 87, of 322 S. Lincoln Ave., Jersey Shore, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, in the Williamsport Hospital Emergency Room.
Born Jan. 28, 1915 in New Kensington, she was the daughter of Louisa Dudley.
She is survived by her husband, Richard L. Coleman Sr. They were united in marriage Dec. 31, 1947.
She was retired after many years of service from Kelco in Jersey Shore.
Also surviving is a son, Richard L. (Larry) Coleman Jr. of Jersey Shore, two grandsons, and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, Feb. 8, 2002 at 1 p.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 11 a.m. Friday until the time of services in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Green Lawn Memorial Park. Mark W. Courter, 88, of 2305 Sugar Run Road, Mill Hall, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, in Susque-View Home, Lock Haven.
Born March 17, 1913, he was the son of John Clayton and Margaret May Hufnagle Courter.
His bride of almost 61 years, Grace, passed into eternity Dec. 24, 2000.

Ethel M. Pifer, 92, formerly of Bellefonte and Pleasant Gap, passed away Jan. 30, 2002 at 7 p.m. in Eagle Valley Personal Care Home, Milesburg.
Mrs. Pifer was born in Wood County, Bowling Green, Ohio, on May 10, 1909, a daughter of the late A. Elmer and Nellie M. Robison Borough.
On May 13, 1929, she married Victor H. Pifer, who preceded her in death July 25, 1983.
The funeral was held at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, Milesburg, on Monday, Feb. 4, 2002 at 11 a.m. Burial was in Centre County Memorial Park, College Township.

Born Oct. 10, 1925 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Stanley Gaugler and the former Irene Tietbohl.
She is survived by her husband, William E. Kast. They were united in marriage Feb. 12, 1954 in South Williamsport.
Graveside memorial services will be Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at 11 a.m., in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. Rev. Howard Woodruff will officiate. Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born in Lock Haven on Sept. 11, 1941, daughter of the late Harold and Louise (Stiver) Bletz.
Surviving is her husband, Robert K. Toner, whom she married on July 2, 1960 in Lock Haven.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday in Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall, with Pastor Russell Moldovan officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Earl H. Holter, 76, of Howard, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at his home.
Born April 13, 1925 in Howard, he was the son of the late William Henry and Julia Kline Holter.
He was married to N. Jean Yearick on April 25, 1945 in the Church of Christ in Howard. She survives.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at 11 a.m., in Schencks Cemetery, Howard Township. Rev. Wes McCleary will officiate. There will be no visitation.

Charlotte Wert Long, 68, of 661 E. Bald Eagle St., Lock Haven, died Feb. 1, 2002, in the Lock Haven Hospital Intensive Care Unit. She had entered the hospital on Tuesday.
She was born July 8, 1933 in Lock Haven, and was the daughter of the late Paul and Charlotte D. Hendrick Wert.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Long, who died Jan. 16, 1995.
Funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Friends and family will be received in Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven, on Monday evening, Feb. 4, 2002, from 7 to 9.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions will be accepted to the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.

Gary W. Bartholomew, 70, of Pennsylvania Furnace, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, in Centre Community Hospital.
Born July 26, 1931 in Orangeville, he was a son of the late William H. and Jennie Davis Bartholomew.
On March 18, 1956, he married JoAnn Beeman, who survives at home.

Born in Lock Haven on Sept. 15, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Viola Myers Stiver and Glenn Stiver Sr.
Her husband, Larry R. Hill Sr., died Jan. 22, 1999.

She was born Dec. 12, 1938 in Lock Haven, the daughter of the late Charles Thomas and Ethel Baird Hevner Mitchell. She married Daniel F. Peddigree, who died Oct. 29, 1994.
A funeral mass will be Monday, Feb. 4, 2002 at 3:30 p.m. in Saint Agnes Catholic Church with Rev. Neil Dadey officiating. Friends will be received at the Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven, from 1 to 3 p.m. Burial will be in the Dunnstown Cemetery. Harold C. Pletcher, 77, of Blanchard, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, in Centre Community Hospital.
Born June 26, 1924 in Howard, he was the son of the late Lewis R. and Amber Neff Pletcher.
He married Margaret Ann Harter on Nov. 28, 1946 in Blanchard. She survives.

He is survived by his wife, Lois. A memorial service will be Thursday, Feb. 7, at 3 p.m., at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock. Rev. John F. Taylor will officiate. Burial will be private. She was preceded in death by three husbands, Lewis L. Wheeler, Ted Strouse, and Dale Knarr.
