Irene F. Smart
Irene F. Smart, 96, formerly of 190 Hood St., Lock Haven and Carter Towers, died Jan. 16, 2002 at the Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit. She had entered the hospital five years ago.
She was born in Lock Haven, Feb. 11, 1905, and was the daughter of the late Albert and Minnie Tarman Glenn.
She was married to Joseph F. Smart, who preceded her in death Jan. 21, 1989.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002 at 11 a.m. at the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Officiating will be Rev. Steve C. Gorton, First Baptist Church Youth Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Lock Haven. Interment
will be in the Dunnstown Cemetery, Woodward Township. Friends will be received in the funeral home on Saturday morning, one hour prior to the services.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be accepted to the First Baptist Church of Lock Haven through the funeral home.
Daniel W. Folmar
Mr. Daniel W. Folmar, 50, of 78 Folmar Lane, Antes Fort, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2002 at his home.
Born Oct. 28, 1951 in Jersey Shore, he was the son of Wilbur L. (Pete) Folmar and the former Lillian M. Malloy.
He is survived by his wife, the former Bethany J. Grossman. They were united in marriage July 8, 1997.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at 10 a.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday evening in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. Rev. George Grossman will officiate.
Elizabeth L. (Betty) Sweely
Elizabeth L. (Betty) Sweely, 82, formerly of Avis, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002 in the ManorCare Health Center in Jersey Shore.
Born April 19, 1919 in Pine Creek Township, she was the daughter of George McConnell and the former Olive Lentz.
She was united in marriage July 4, 1938 to H. Gayle Sweely. He preceded her in death Feb. 22, 1992.
Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 18, 2002 in the Garman Lutheran Church. Friends may call from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Burial will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Park. Rev. David Byerly, her pastor, will officiate.

Mrs. Jane Dice DeBiase
Mrs. Jane Dice DeBiase, 781 Union St. S., Concord, N.C., died Jan. 14, 2002, in NorthEast Medical Center.
She was born in Jersey Shore, a daughter of the late Charles C. and Esther Irish Dice.
She was married to Mr. Ben DeBiase who died in 1997.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in St. Martin Lutheran Church, Concord, N.C. The Revs. Loyd Ginn and T.C. Plexico will officiate. Burial will be in Cabarrus Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Wilkinson Funeral Home, 100 Branchview Drive, Concord, N.C.

Helen N. Snyder
Helen N. Snyder, 92, of Salisbury, Md., died Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, in Wicomico Nursing Home in Salisbury.
Born in Castanea, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Margaret Fischer Nihart.
Her husband, Calvin K. Snyder, preceded her in death.
Memorial services will be private. She will be interred beside her husband in Highland Cemetery in Lock Haven at a later date.
Contributions may be made in her memory to Trinity United Methodist Church, Jackson Memorial Building Fund, 112 High St., Salisbury, Md. 21801.

Allen Baker Fernburg
Allen Baker Fernburg, 66, of Lakeland, Fla., passed away at his home on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002.
Mr. Fernburg was born Dec. 25, 1935, the son of the late Kenneth and Lydia Fernburg.
He and his wife, Nola, spent the last two summers in Pennsylvania, she survives.
Memorial services with military honors were held Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, in the Point Clubhouse, Sandpiper Golf and Country Club in Lakeland.
Robert J. Hayes
Robert J. Hayes, 84, of North Bend, died Jan. 14, 2002, in the Bucktail Medical Center in South Renovo. He had been in failing health for the past three years and had entered the hospital on Jan. 14, 2002.
He was born in Renovo, Dec. 24, 1917, and was the son of the late Robert A. and Caroline Wheelen Hayes.
He was married to Catherine Marie Cassidy Hayes, who survives.
Memorial services will be Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at 11 a.m., in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery Chapel. Officiating will be Father Donald Boslett of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment
will be in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Hyner.
In lieu of flowers, memorial will be accepted to the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Building Fund through the funeral home.

Robert K. Rogers
Robert K. Rogers, 5, of 2242 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, after a two and a-half year battle with cancer.
Born Oct. 30, 1996 in Lock Haven, he was the son of Robert E. Rogers III and Jennifer R. Litz, they both survive.
A private funeral service will be in Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Boulevard, Mill Hall, Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at 11 a.m., with Mr. Woody Wolfe Jr. officiating. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Dunnstown Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Miracle Network Telethon, 100 N. Eleanor Jones Packard Danley
Eleanor Jones Packard Danley, 90, formerly of Jersey Shore and Tempe, Ariz., passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002 in Mesa, Ariz.
Born March 6, 1911 in Jersey Shore, she was the daughter of Alfred Deagan Jones and the former Mary Estella Gilliland.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Donald Leroy Packard of Jersey Shore in 1944, and Bubb Danley of Tempe, Ariz., formerly of Williamsport, in 1958.
Services will be Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, at the Tempe Mortuary, 405 E. Southern Ave., at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial contributions be sent to the Hospice of the Valley, 2222 S. Dobson Road, Mesa, Ariz. 85202, or to the University Lutheran Church, 340 E. 15th St., Tempe, Ariz. 85281-6612.

Larry C. Korman, 58, of Bellefonte, died Friday in Centre Community Hospital.
He was married to Jeanne M. Korman who survives.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, State College.
Nydean H. Irvin
Nydean H. Irvin, 49, of 1492 Haagen Lane, Beech Creek, died Jan. 12, 2002 in Susque-View Home.
Born Oct. 16, 1952 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of Dean R. and B. Ruth McCaleb Heimer of McElhattan.
She was married to Roland L. Irvin on Feb. 25, 1972. He survives.
Funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 14 at 2 p.m. in the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, 231 High St., Flemington. There will be no visitation. The Rev. Viola Tyson will officiate. Interment
will be in Jacksonville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Association or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Carrie Ruhl Wadsworth
Carrie Ruhl Wadsworth, 98, formerly of Lock Haven and Manchester, N.H., died Jan. 12, 2002, in Susque-View Home in Lock Haven, where she had resided for the last five years.
Mrs. Wadsworth was born in Salona, April 24, 1903, and was the daughter of the late Aquilla Fellmore and Amanda Rebecca Wolfe Ruhl.
Mrs. Wadsworth was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Albert Wadsworth, who died July 11, 1994. They had been married for 71 years. The family will provide the flowers; memorials will be accepted to the United Evangelical Lutheran Church or the Ross Library Pennsylvania Room, through the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven.
Dorothy E. Johnson
Dorothy E. Johnson, 88, formerly of 350 Huron Ave., Renovo, died Jan. 13, 2002, in the Bucktail Medical Center, where she had been a guest since Aug. 15, 2001.
She was born July 16, 1913 in North Bend, a daughter of the late Adam and Laura Prebble Hiller.
She was married to Merrill Johnson who died July 21, 1982.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bucktail Medical Center, 1001 Pine St., South Renovo, Pa.

Ronald J. Mainguth
Ronald J. Mainguth, 61, went home peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior, entering into his new life with Jesus and his heavenly family, on Jan. 6, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center.
He is the son of and survived by his mother, Thelma Burrows Mainguth Farwell of Lock Haven and deceased father, Joseph Mainguth, who gave his life in 1944 in the Army for our country’s freedom, in Luxembourg, Europe, where his body is interred.
He was also the stepson of Robert (Bob) Farwell, who preceded him in death. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Kenneth Louden officiating. The Reed Funeral Home in Canton, Ohio, was in charge of arrangements in Canton, and the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home was in charge of Pennsylvania arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Colonial Nursing Home in Canton, Ohio, 1528 Market Ave., Canton, Ohio, 44714 or to the Lock Haven Christian School, so that a special child may go to school.

Teresa Grand Lyon
Teresa Grand Lyon, 44, of Route Four, Troy, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at her home in Troy, after a battle with cancer.
She was born in Anchorage, Alaska on Oct. 22, 1957. She was the daughter of Alberta Duckworth Grand and the late Paul Grand of Lock Haven.
Teresa married Steven Lyon on April 16, 1978 in Haneyville, he survives.
Services were in the First United Methodist Church of Troy on Jan. 5, 2002. The Rev. Richard L. Naggle officiated. Interment
was in Glennwood Cemetery, Troy.
Winifred V. Wolford
Mrs. Winifred V. Wolford, 79, of 123 Wylie St., Jersey Shore, died Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 8, 2002, in the Jersey Shore Hospital.
Born Oct. 21, 1922 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of George W. Button and the former Jenny M. Bollinger.
She is survived by her husband, Philip L. Wolford.

Barry A. Weaver, 48, of Hyner, died at Bucktail Medical Center, Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002.
He was born in Lock Haven on Sept. 17, 1953, a son of the late Nelson Weaver and Alene (Donahey) Weaver of Lock Haven.
On June 23, 1971 in Renovo, Barry married Cathy Watt, who survives. Funeral services will be at the Zion Lutheran Church in Renovo at 11 a.m. Friday with Pastor Steven Brauner and Rev. Dennis Smith officiating. Interment
will follow in North Bend Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo, from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Donations are requested to Zion Lutheran Church in his memory.

Robert L. Hampton, 67, of 385 Gregory Lane, Bellefonte, died at 5:40 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, in his home.
Born Sept. 12, 1934 in Osceola Mills, he was the son of the late Morley and Mona Pinto Hampton.
He married F. Jean Helsel on May 12, 1957 in Houtzdale. She survives.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002 in Faith United Methodist Church, 512 Hughes St., Bellefonte. The Rev. David A. Keller will officiate. Burial will be in Umbria Cemetery, Osceola Mills. Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, in the Wetzler Funeral Home, 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Thursday in the church.

She was born April 11, 1945 in Osceola Mills.
She was married to Paul Watkins who survives.

Ronald J. Zidick
Ronald J. Zidick, 62, of 167 Eighth St., Renovo, died Jan. 4, 2002, in Lock Haven Hospital.
Born Sept. 28, 1939 in Renovo, he was the son of Gladys Green Pierce of Renovo.
Services were held today at 11 a.m. in the North Bend Cemetery. There was no visitation. The Rev. John Godisart officiated. The family suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

James. J. “Jere” Clinefelter, 59, of Mountain Lane, Mill Hall, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at Lock Haven Hospital.
He was born March 19, 1942 in Bellefonte, a son of the late J. Clifton and Hilda Wetzel Clinefelter.

Katharene ‘Kay’ Smith
Katharene “Kay” Smith, 71, of 411 Girard St., Mill Hall, died Jan. 4, 2002, in the tender loving care of her family and the outstanding nursing staff at Lock Haven Hospital.
She was born July 31, 1930, the daughter of Lila Hockenberry Roan King of Bellefonte and the late John Roan.
Memorial services will be Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at 7 p.m., in the Cedar Heights Brethren in Christ Church, Mill Hall, with Pastor Mark Thornton, her pastor, officiating. Interment
will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven. Friends will be received in the church one hour prior to services.

Her husband, W. Theodore Densham, preceded her in death.

Frank W. Hackenberg, 56, of 95 Hackenberg Lane, Mill Hall, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002 in Williamsport Hospital.
Born June 26, 1945 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Glenn W. and Zelma Shuey Hackenberg.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Dickey Hackenberg, whom he married on Dec. 1, 2001. His first wife, Andrea Kreamer Hackenberg, whom he married Nov. 30, 1968, died Aug. 23, 1997.
Services for Frank W. Hackenberg will be held at the convenience of the family with Rev. P. Franklin Hartzel, his pastor, officiating. Interment
will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall. There will be no public visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Rote United Methodist Church through the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, Mill Hall.

Judith L. Welshans, 58, of Muncy, died Wednesday Jan. 2, 2002 in Williamsport Hospital.
Born Jan. 30, 1943 in Middletown, N.Y., she was the daughter of Rubye Hull Ryerson, who survives in Laurie, Mo., and the late Harold E. Matter.
She married James L. Welshans on Sept. 26, 1998. He survives.
Services for Judith L. Welshans will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002 in the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall. Her pastor, Rev. Jonathan W. Baker, will officiate. Interment

Fred T. Feltenberger
Fred Thomas Feltenberger, 80, of Dade City, Fla., died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, in the Heartland Health Care Center, Zephyrhills, Fla.
Born Feb. 26, 1921, he was a son of the late Edgar and Della Spayd Feltenberger.
His former wife is the late Marie L. Boob. There will be no public visitation, and burial will be in Pennsylvania at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Thelma A. Anderson
Thelma A. Anderson, 98, of Lock Haven, formerly of Mill Hall, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, in the Lock Haven extended care facility.
Born March 2, 1903 in Blair Four, she was the daughter of the late Leander and Martha A. Himes Miller.
Over the years, she was married three times, to James R. Myers, then Charles E. Zimmerman, and then Walter J. Anderson. All are deceased.
Funeral services were to be Friday, Jan. 4, 2002 at 11 a.m. in the W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, 837 Main St., Howard. Pastor Wesley McDonald will officiate. Burial will be in Jacksonville Cemetery, Marion Township. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
