Gloria “Gig” Miller
Gloria “Gig” Miller, 52, of Woodward Township, Lock Haven, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001, due to an automobile accident.
She was born Nov. 11, 1949 in Baltimore, Md., a daughter of Sterling and Dorothy Miller.
She is survived by her husband, Ben Miller of Lock Haven and West Jordan, Utah. A memorial service will be Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at 11 a.m., in the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, 231 High St., Flemington.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Piper Aviation Museum or the Clinton County SPCA.

Mary Anne McDonald, 61, formerly of the 300 block of Huron Avenue, Renovo, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, in HCR ManorCare North, Williamsport, where she had been a guest for the past 10 days.
She was born May 15, 1940 at Renovo, the daughter of the late Andrew C. and Roseanna B. Croak Kennis.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo. Father Donald E. Boslett, pastor of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Renovo, will officiate. Interment
will be in St. Joseph’s Church Cemetery, Hyner. The family will provide the flowers.

Agnes M. Voinchet, 76, of Pittsburgh, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at home.
She was born July 21, 1925 in Avis, the daughter of the late Roy I. and Genevieve H. May Brungard.
Carl C. Oechler Jr.
Carl C. Oechler Jr., 63, of 29 Arrowhead Road, Lock Haven, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, in the Jersey Shore Hospital Emergency Room.
Born July 15, 1938 in Lock Haven, he was the son of Carl C. Oechler Sr. and the former Anna Fenstamacher.
He is survived by his wife, the former Bernadine L. Boring. They were married Aug. 3, 1960.
Memorial services will be Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, at 1 p.m., in Big Woods Bible Church, 120 Logan Ave., Castanea. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Thelma A. Anderson, 98, of Lock Haven, formerly of Mill Hall, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, in the Lock Haven extended care facility.
Born March 2, 1903 in Blair Four, she was the daughter of the late Leander and Martha A. Himes Miller.
Over the years, she was married three times, to James R. Myers, then Charles E. Zimmerman, and then Walter J. Anderson. All are deceased.
Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 2, 2002 at 11 a.m. in the W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, 837 Main St., Howard. Pastor Wesley McDonald will officiate. Burial will be in Jacksonville Cemetery, Marion Township. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Stacy F. MacIntyre, 31, of 131 W. Fourth St., Lock Haven, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001.
Born Sept. 17, 1970 in Bellefonte, she was a daughter of Anne and Gar Forsht of Duncansville.
She grew up in Alexandria, Va., and was a 1988 graduate of Annadale High School there. She graduated from Radford University in 1992 and moved to Lock Haven after her marriage to William P. MacIntyre III on Nov. 26, 1994.
Her husband and daughter of Lock Haven, and her parents Duncansville, survive. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, at Flemington United Methodist Church, 225 High St., Flemington, with her pastor, the Rev. Ellen Evans, presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Flemington United Methodist Church or the Lock Haven Preschool Coop. Another memorial service is planned in the spring at Radford.
William P. MacIntyre IV
William P. MacIntyre IV, 20 months old, of 131 W. Fourth St., Lock Haven, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001.
The infant was born April 27, 2000 in Williamsport, a son of William P. MacIntyre III and the late Stacy MacIntyre.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, at the Flemington United Methodist Church, 225 High St., Flemington. The Rev. Ellen Evans will officiate. Bruce E. Allen
Bruce E. Allen, 42, of 727 E. Bald Eagle St., Lock Haven, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001 in Bald Eagle Township.
Born Feb. 14, 1959 in Lock Haven, he was a son of John E. Allen and the late Audrey Hibler. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. There will be no public visitation.

Ruby Alice “Nana” Hocker
Ruby Alice “Nana” Hocker, 95, formerly of Jersey Mills, died in the extended care unit of Lock Haven Hospital, where she had been a guest since 1996.
She was born in Jersey Shore, Aug. 17, 1906, a daughter of Harry J. and Sarah Kabel Larison.
She was united in marriage to Percy E. Hocker who died in June of 1983.
Memorial services will be Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002 at 10 a.m. in the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home Ltd., 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, “A Life Celebration Home,” with the Rev. Joyce Gensib officiating. Burial will be in the Bluestone Cemetery.

Margaret L. Reich, 92, formerly of Ashland, a resident of Roseview Manor, Williamsport, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002 in the Williamsport Hospital.
Born in Pitman on Jan. 31, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Bessie (Snyder) Wehry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Roosevelt Reich, who died in 1956.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at 11 a.m. in the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland. Rev. Brian Dever will officiate. Interment
will be in Zion E.C. Cemetery, Pitman. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home.

Gertrude B. Miller, 94, formerly of 646 Huston St., Flemington and Oakridge Personal Care Home, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001 in the ManorCare Nursing Home in Jersey Shore, having resided there for the past two years.
Her husband, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at 2 p.m. in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven. The Rev. Mark E. Riley of the Flemington First Church of Christ will officiate. Interment
will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Park, Dunnstable Township, Clinton County.
Friends will be received in the funeral home Wednesday afternoon, one hour prior to the service.
The family will provide flowers, and memorials will be accepted to the Flemington First Church of Christ, through the funeral home.

Sarah I. Moore, 84, of 115 Allison St., Flemington, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001 in the Williamsport Hospital.
Born Feb. 26, 1917 in Mill Hall, she was a daughter of the late Samuel B. and Sarah (Grubb) Hardy.
She was married to Lester H. Moore on July 11, 1933 in Cumberland, Md. He preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 1971.
Services will be Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002 at 11 a.m. in the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St., Millheim. Rev. Virginia Rye will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery.

Morris E. Seyler, 82, of North Bend, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001 in the Bucktail Medical Center.
Born April 20, 1919 in Bitumen, he was a son of the late William P. and Saraha Shoyer Seyler. He attended Westport schools.
Services will be Wednesday, Jan 2, 2002 at 1 p.m. in the Grace Baptist Church, North Bend, with the Rev. Mahlon Nevel officiating. Interment
will be in North Bend Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Geraldine G. Eckenstine, 81, of 218 S. Highland St., Lock Haven, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001 in the Lock Haven Hospital Emergency Room after being stricken at home. She had been in failing health for a number of years.
She was born in Woodward Township, March 11, 1920, the daughter of the late William J. and Bertha Fillinger Croak.
She was married to Lewis F. Eckenstine who survives.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001 at 2 p.m. in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Officiating will be Rev. Mark E. Riley of the Flemington First Church of Christ. Friends will be received in the funeral home Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Interment
will be in the Dunnstown Cemetery, Dunnstable Township.

Margaret A. Masters, 88, formerly of Woodward Avenue, Lock Haven, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001 in Susque-View Home where she had been a resident since 1994.
Born April 28, 1913 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Anna Mary Ramm Pfouts. She was a 1931 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 29 at 3 p.m. in the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, 231 High St., Flemington, with the Rev. Marie Lewis officiating. Friends will be received in the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment
will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery.

Cheryl Rader, 51, of San Diego, Calif., died in the UCSD Medical Center, San Diego, Calif. on Dec. 19, 2001.
Born April 11, 1950 in Jersey Shore, she was the daughter of Harold “Jim” and Betty Miller Kryder of Jersey Shore.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. in Trinity United Methodist Church, Jersey Shore, with the Rev. John Libert officiating.
E. Fae Weaver Piedmont
E. Fae Weaver Piedmont, 81, of Blanchard, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001 in the Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit.
She was born July 10, 1920 in Curtin Township, a daughter of the late Oscar C. and Olive C. McCloskey Weaver.
She married Peter C. Piedmont, April 24, 1942 in Greenwich, Conn. He survives at home.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Russel J. Moldovan officiating. Burial will be at the Christian Cemetery, Curtin Township.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sylvan Hills Christian Camp, 175 Sylvan Hills Road, Howard, Pa. 16841.
George Henry Custer Jr.
George Henry Custer Jr., 80, of 270 Meadowlark Drive, Ephrata, formerly of Orwigsburg, died at 7:55 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001 in the Ephrata Community Hospital after a short illness.
He was born in Pittsburgh, a son of the late George H. Custer Sr. and Elizabeth M. (Ruehling) Custer.
His wife of 58 years is C. Jeanne (Cartin) Custer. She survives.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Church Avenue and Pine Street, Ephrata, Friday, Dec. 28, 2001 at 10 a.m. Final Commendation and Farewell will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Ephrata. Scott E. Rippey
Scott E. Rippey, 19, of 319 W. Walnut St., Lock Haven, died Dec. 23, 2001 in Limestone Township, Lycoming County.
He was born June 3, 1982 in Lock Haven, a son of Stephen E. Rippey of Lock Haven and Brenda K. Duck Bogenrief of Montgomery. They both survive.
He was a 2000 graduate of Central Mountain High School and worked at Albright Mills and NAPA Auto Parts.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a step-mother, Jennifer L. Rippey of Lock Haven. Graveside services will be in the Woolrich Cemetery, Friday, Dec. 28, 2001 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Abernathy officiating. There will be no visitation.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Church of Christ in Lock Haven.

Stanley L. Phoenix, 96, who lived with his grandson, Gayle Love, at 1228 Big Plum Run Road, Lock Haven, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001 in Lock Haven Hospital.
Born May 27, 1905 in Draketown, Bald Eagle Township, he was a son of the late Charles and Mary K. Stringfellow Phoenix.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maude Litz Phoenix, who died Aug. 17, 1986.
Services will be Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001 at 10 a.m. in the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, 231 High St., Flemington, with the Revs. James Redmon and Donald Fornwalt officiating. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001. Interment
will be in Sunnyside Cemetery.

Mary V. Shaffer, 80, of Lock Haven, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001 in the Williamsport Hospital.
She was born Oct. 28, 1921 in Beech Creek, a daughter of the late John N. and Verna A. Young McCloskey.
She married Harold Huston Holter, who preceded her in death in 1964 and Randall “Popeye” Shaffer, who preceded her in death in 1976.
Services were held Sunday, Dec. 23 at 2 p.m. in Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Boulevard, Mill Hall, with Pastor Russell Moldovan officiating. Burial will be in Blanchard Christian Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Beatrice L. Miller, 87, of 3678 Narrows Road, Loganton, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001 in the Susque-View Home in Lock Haven.
Born April 5, 1914 in Miles Township, Centre County, she was the daughter of Henry E. Frank and the former Minnie Zellers. She was united in marriage Nov. 19, 1935 to Allen F. Miller, who preceded her in death April 2, 1985.
Memorial services and burial in the Union Cemetery in Tylersville will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, Main and Water streets, Loganton.

George L. Tripp, 91, of South Renovo, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001 in Bucktail Medical Center.
He was born in Shintown, a son of the late Roland and Margaret Snyder Tripp.
On Feb. 22, 1933, in Lock Haven, he married Vera Summerson who preceded him in death Jan. 10, 1986.

Born Nov. 2, 1913 in Mill Hall, she was the daughter of James Stevenson and the former MaryBelle E. Harvey. She was united in marriage Jan. 20, 1935 to Clifford L. Dorman. He preceded her in death May 1, 1984.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001 at 2 p.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, Main and Water streets, Loganton. She was born April 6, 1910 in Porter Township, a daughter of the late George and Ellen Streck Gunsallus.
She married William M. Foringer, Dec. 22, 1934 in Lock Haven. He preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 2000.
Services will be Friday, Dec. 28, 2001 at 11 a.m. in the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall, with her pastor, Rev. James H. Redmon, officiating. Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment
will take place in Hublersburg Cemetery in Walker Township, Centre County.

She was born April 30, 1908 in Castle Garden, the daughter of the late Charles and Charity Swisher Duell.

Lester G. Barker, 60, of 330 Railroad St., Jersey Shore, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001 at the Coventry House of Fox Chapel Hospital in Philadelphia.
He was born Nov. 7, 1941 in Jersey Shore, a son of Foster G. “Fuzz” and Alice L. Marks Barker. He was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School and was an Air Force veteran during the early 60’s.
He married the former Connie Schneider on June 2, 1962. She survives.
