James Harach, 56, of 4504 Long Run Road, Loganton, died early Thursday morning, Dec. 20, 2001 in the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born May 31, 1945 in Mahanoy City, he was the son of Joseph Harach and the former Mary Ludinsky.
Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001 in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, Main and Water streets, Loganton. Funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

Stanley “Doc” West, M.D., 76, of Avis, died Dec. 14, 2001 in Williamsport Hospital and Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Maryann. According to his wishes, there will be no service. The family would appreciate contributions made to the American Cancer Society.
Douglas A. Barnett
Mr. Douglas A. Barnett, 52, of 31 Frenchtown Road, Trout Run, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at his home.
Born March 20, 1949 in Astoria, N.Y., he was the son of Kenneth A. Barnett and the former Irene Muller.
He is survived by his parents of Mineola, N.Y., and his wife, the former Linda Nielson. They were united in marriage Sept. 13, 1969.
Memorial services and burial in the Summit Cemetery at White Pine will be held at the convenience of the family. Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, is in charge of arrangements.

Judith D. Kryder, 60, of 952 May Post Office Road, Strasburg, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, at her home, after a brief illness.
Born in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of Harold E. and Dorothy I. Burkett Munro of Lock Haven.
She was the fiance of Jeffrey C. Coley. Her husband, Robert A. Kryder, died in 1991.
Joseph L. Sample
Joseph L. Sample, 53, of Grassflat, died Dec. 17, 2001, in Geisinger Medical Center.
He was born April 14, 1948 in Renovo, and was married to Violet Wetzel Sample in Lock Haven. She survives.
Funeral services will be tomorrow in Grassflat.
Thomas B. Hays
Thomas B. Hays, 90, of 300 Mackey Ave., Castanea, died Dec. 18, 2001, in the Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit.
Born Dec. 13, 1911 in Jersey Shore, he was the son of the late Alfred and Ellen Houser Hays.
He was married to Ruth C. Smith Hayes. She preceded him in death Feb. 24, 2001.
Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at 11 a.m., in the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, 231 High St., Flemington. The Rev. Bruce Wallace will officiate. Interment
will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Friday. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to East Main Street United Methodist Church.
Robert S. Steele
Robert S. Steele, 75, of 801 Boulevard St., Avis, died Monday evening, Dec. 17, 2001, at his residence.
He was born in East Rochester, N.Y., on June 12, 1926, a son of Arthur R. and Elizabeth C. Gay Steele.
He was married to the former Patricia Leonard Henry on April 2, 1966, she survives.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001 in the Tiadaghton Valley Grace Brethren Church, Reed Street, Avis. The Rev. Alan Hess will officiate. Interment
will be at the family’s convenience. His family suggests contributions be made to the memorial fund of the church. The Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, “A Life Celebration Home,” is handling arrangements.

Vera W. Bailey
Vera W. Bailey, 87, died in ManorCare in Jersey Shore, on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001. She was formerly of 305 Maple St., Jersey Shore.
She was born in Jersey Shore, Nov. 14, 1914, a daughter of Gideon and Lula Mabel Lovell Wurster.
Her husband, Ralph N. Bailey, died in November of 1969.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. from the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, “A Life Celebration Home.” Interment
will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the memorial fund of Trinity United Methodist Church, 1407 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, Pa. 17740.
Mina W. Williams
An angel has returned to heaven. Baby Mina W. Williams of 201 Frederick St., Mill Hall, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at the University of Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, as a result of an automobile accident.
Mina was born on Nov. 28, 2001 in Lock Haven, and was the daughter of Jessica Williams of Mill Hall. She survives.
A Memorial Mass will be in Immaculate Conception Church, 310 W. Water St., Lock Haven, Friday, Dec. 21, at 10 a.m. Celebrant will be Rev. Daniel J. O’Neill. The Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home of Lock Haven announces there will be no visitation.

William F. Williams Jr.
William F. Williams Jr., 74, of Antes Fort Main Street, Jersey Shore, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001 in the Jersey Shore Hospital.
Born Jan. 10, 1927 in Rochester, N.Y., he was the son of William F. and Martha Sommerville Williams.
He is survived by his wife of over 52 years, the former Frances Jane Button of Wellsboro. A private burial will be held at the Fort Antes Graveyard, which is on the family farm. A memorial service is to be held in the Jersey Shore Presbyterian Church, on Thursday, Dec. 27, at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the William F. and Jane B. Williams Scholarship Fund, care of the Lock Haven University Foundation at the university.
Arrangements are being handled by the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore.
Nicholas R. Pinelli
Nicholas R. Pinelli, 5, of 221 E. Park St., Lock Haven, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001 in the Lock Haven Hospital Emergency Room as a result of an automobile accident.
Nicholas was born on Dec. 11, 1995 in Lock Haven, and is the son of Richard A. and Judith Ann Banfill Pinelli, and brother of Laurel A. Confer of Lock Haven.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date and announced at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Nick Pinelli Trust Fund for Youth at any Jersey Shore State Bank.
Jenniemay (Johnson) Rosamilia
Jenniemay (Johnson) Rosamilia, 82, of Renovo, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001 in Health South Rehabilitation, Mechanicsburg.
She was born April 26, 1919 in Huntly, a daughter of the late Jesse and Myrtle Logue Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carmen R. Rosamilia Sr., in 1989.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Thursday, Dec. 20, at 1 p.m. with Father Donald Boslett officiating. Friends will be received from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Thursday in the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo.

Lester D. Hale, 88, died Dec. 15, 2001, at home, 119 West St., Jersey Shore.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bernice E. Hale of Renovo.
He was born Oct. 16, 1913 in Jersey Shore, and was the son of William O. and Maude Kennedy Hale.
A private service will be with the Rev. W. Keith Rockwell officiating. Interment
will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Clinton County.

Amy L. Sweeley, 77, of 22 Cree Drive, Lock Haven, died Dec. 15, 2001, in Lock Haven Hospital.
Born Jan. 4, 1924 in Spring Mills, she was the daughter of the late Gunney and Mildred Boob.
She was married to James Sweeley who died in 1988.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 2 p.m., in Fairview Cemetery in Loganton. There will be no visitation.

Jane L. Auman, 58, of P.O. Box 3, North Street, Millheim, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, in Centre Community Hospital, State College.
Born July 16, 1943 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Chester F. Kulp and Ardura R. Heltman.
She was married to Richard L. Auman Sr. on Oct. 15, 1964 in Spruce Creek. He survives.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at 2 p.m., in the Madisonburg United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ronald Beistline will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday in the church.

She was born Jan. 29, 1911 in Renovo, a daughter of the late Fred and Claire Hanna Faulkner.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. at Flemington Cemetery with the Rev. James VanZandt officiating.

Kenneth “Tex” L. Englert
Kenneth “Tex” L. Englert, 64, of 447 Bellefonte Ave., Lock Haven, died Friday Dec. 14, 2001 in Lock Haven Hospital.
He was born Sept. 21, 1937 in Lockport, a son of the late Calvin L. Englert and Mildred M. Harrington Coleman, who survives in Mill Hall.
He married Bonnie L. Smith Englert July 14, 1966. They had been married 35 years. She survives.
Services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001 at 10 a.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, 231 High St., Flemington, with the Rev. Kenneth Page officiating. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment
will be at Dunnstown Cemetery.

Born Oct. 16, 1948 in Braddock, he was a son of the late George C. Sheasley Sr. and Louise A. Sheasley. She survives in West Mifflin.
He was married to Lois A. Sheasley. She survives.

Francis E. Vuocolo, 81, of 207 Melody Lane, Lock Haven, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, in his residence.
Born Feb. 7, 1920 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Samual A. and Rose Marie Caprio Vuocolo.
He was a 1938 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
On March 27, 1953 in Utica, N.Y., he married Betty Jane Rumsey. She survives.
A Funeral Mass will be at St. Agnes Church, 3 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven, Saturday, Dec. 15, at 11 a.m. Celebrant will be Rev. Neil R. Dadey. Committal will be in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends will be received Friday at the Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with a Vigil of the Deceased at 7:30 p.m., a Sons of Italy service at 8 p.m., and an Elks service at 8:30 p.m.

He was born June 8, 1916 in Carbondale, a son of the late Paul and Veronica Bahheda Blaschak.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Erma M. Smith Blaschak, May 6, 1977.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m., in the St. Agnes Church, 7 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven, with the Rev. Father Robert Brown officiating. Born Dec. 21, 1912 in Sunbury, she was the daughter of the late Orland Smith and Emma Kreager.
She was married to Vincent Kane who died June 23, 1980.

Harry L. ‘Bud’ Deise
Harry L. “Bud” Deise, 60, a guest at Rose View Center, formerly of 341 Adams St., Williamsport, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, in the center.
Born March 17, 1941 in Avis, he was a son of the late Ward and Miriam Blesh Deise.
On Sept. 29, 1967, in Avis, he married the former Juniata E. Berry, who survives.
Funeral services will be noon on Saturday at the Noll Funeral Home, 1 E. Central Ave., South Williamsport, with the Rev. Gerald Wagner officiating. Interment
will follow in Swissdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of services.

Mabel E. Kunes, 92, of Lock Haven, formerly of Blanchard, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, in the Lock Haven extended care facility.
Born Feb. 2, 1909 in Blanchard, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Helen Bitner Kunes.
She was married to Donald M. Kunes on May 1, 1933 in Blanchard. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1976.

He was born March 11, 1978 in Lock Haven, the son of Lucien M. Snook Jr. and Jean M. Embick Snook, both of Loganton.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in the Welker Funeral Home, Main and Water streets, Loganton. The Rev. Kenneth E. Geisewite will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends will be received Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home.
