F. Elaine Mather
F. Elaine Mather, 67, of 225 Carone Drive, Cogan Station, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, in the Williamsport Hospital emergency room, after being stricken at home.
Elaine married James R. Mather on Oct. 20, 1951. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and traveled to Bermuda on a cruise, he survives.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m., in the St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Quiggleville, with Rev. Detlef Huckfeldt, her pastor, officiating. There will be a visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport. Interment
will be in the church cemetery. The family will provide the flowers and suggests that contributions be made to the St. Michael’s Lutheran Church Building Fund, 1877 St. Michael’s Road, Cogan Station, Pa. 17728, or the Williamsport Hospital Volunteer Services, 777 Rural Ave., Williamsport, Pa. 17701.
Arthur L. Crawford
Arthur L. Crawford, 69, of 1303 Long Run Road, Mill Hall, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, in the Lock Haven Hospital.
Born March 29, 1932 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Clifford and Alice Hackathorn Crawford.
He was a 1950 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
On June 17, 1951 at First Church of Christ, Lock Haven, he married Lois C. Ramsey. She survives.
A Funeral Mass will be in St. Agnes Church, 3 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven, Thursday, Nov. 29, at 10 a.m. Celebrant will be Rev. Neil R. Dadey. Committal will be in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends will be received in the Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven, Wednesday evening, from 7 to 9 p.m. with a Vigil of the Deceased at 7:30 p.m. and Rosary by the Knights of Columbus at 8 p.m.

Julia M. Harrau
Julia M. Harrau, 92, formerly of Lock Haven, a guest of ManorCare Health Services, Jersey Shore, died Sat., Nov. 24, 2001, in ManorCare.
Born Feb. 21, 1909 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Antonio C. and Carmela Cuputo DelGrippo.
She attended St. Agnes Catholic School.
On May 2 1928, in St. Agnes Church, she married Elmer E. Harrau, who died in May of 1954.

Laura Springman
Word has been received of the death of Laura (Stahl) Springman, 54, who died Oct. 23, 2001, in the Benson Health Center in Erie.
Born Nov. 25, 1946 in Jersey Shore, she lived most of her life in Williamsport. Her parents, Mr. Raymond Stahl II and Susanna (Powers) Stahl, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Springman leaves five children, Karina, Lisa and John Danella, Charlie Rogers and Cindy Springman. Other survivors include a sister, Beverly Cox of Avis; two brothers, Raymond Stahl III of Lock Haven and Kevin Stahl of Jersey Shore; a half-sister, Barbara Noltee; two half-brothers, William and Lewis Noltee of New York; several nieces and nephews; four aunts and one uncle.

Charlotte H. Williams
Charlotte Heineman Williams, 88, of 640 E. Main St., Lock Haven, died Nov. 24, 2001, at the Lock Haven Hospital. She had been in failing health for a short time.
She was born Dec. 26, 1912 in Lock Haven and was the daughter of the late Clarence R. and Dora Collins Heineman.
Mrs. Williams was married Sept. 28, 1946 in Athens to Ray Frank Williams, who passed away Jan. 2, 1992.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at 2 p.m., in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven. The Rev. Barbara Bond of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Lock Haven, will officiate. Interment
will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park. Friends will be received one hour prior to services Wednesday in the funeral home.
The family will provide the flowers. Memorials will be accepted to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church through the funeral home.

Hilda S. White, 80, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, in ManorCare in Jersey Shore, where she had been a guest since August. She was formerly of 7 E. First St., Coudersport.
She was born in Buffalo, N.Y., June 13, 1921, the daughter of Charles and Helen Talbot Schier.
She was a graduate of Bennett High School and The Bryant and Stratton Business College in Buffalo.
She was married to James M. White, June 28, 1947 in Buffalo, he survives.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, from the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, a “Life Celebration Home,” 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, with Rev. Jerry McCauley, interim pastor of the Coudersport Alliance Church, officiating. Burial will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery.

Frances A. D. Simpson
Frances A. Drabick Simpson, 84, formerly of Middletown and Renovo, died Friday in Grayson View, Harrisburg.
Her husband, William M. Simpson of Harrisburg, survives. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m., Wednesday, in Seven Sorrows Church, Middletown, and at 10 a.m. Thursday, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Renovo. Interment
will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hyner.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of services Wednesday in the Matincheck and Daughter Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Middletown, and from 9:30 a.m. till the time of Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, Renovo.
Recitation of Rosary will be 1:15 p.m Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Harry E. Grove
Harry E. Grove, 68, of Hammersley Fork, our beloved husband, father, stepfather and grandfather, went to meet the Lord on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001.

Iva M. Blesh
Iva M. Blesh, 99, of Lock Haven, died in the Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001.
She was born in Swissdale on Jan. 13, 1902, a daughter of the late William and Sally (Keiffer) Probst.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman M. Blesh, in 1959. Funeral services will be at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall, at 11 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Marie Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Swissdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Memorial donations in her memory are requested to the Swissdale United Methodist Church Organ Fund.

Rose M. Crissman
Rose S. Crissman, 86, of 105 Bridge St., Castanea, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001 in the extended care unit of the Lock Haven Hospital.
Born Oct. 3, 1915 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Pietro and Philamena Perri Severino. In 1933, in St. Agnes Church, she married Allen B. Crissman who died on March 7, 1963.
A funeral mass will be at St. Agnes Church, 3 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven, at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 24. Celebrant will be Rev. Neil R. Dadey, with committal in Dunnstown Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Moriarity-Dutcavich Funeral Home, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven, Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. with a Vigil of the Deceased at 8 p.m. and an Alpine Star Lodge Service at 7:30 p.m.

William C. ‘Junior’ Snyder
William C. “Junior” Snyder, 78, of Renovo, died at Bucktail Medical Center on Nov. 20, 2001.
He was born in Renovo on Sept. 15, 1923, the son of the late William E. and Cora Emig Snyder.
Bill married Eleanor Hiller, his wife of 55 years, on Sept. 4, 1946 in New Jersey. She survives.
There will be no calling hours or services. The family requests contributions be offered to the American Cancer Society or the Shintown United Methodist Church in his memory. Maxwell Funeral Home of Renovo is in charge of the arrangements.

Dorothy “Dos” Mason, 94, former Renovo resident for many years, died at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 7, 2001.
Memorial funeral services will be in the Renovo First United Methodist Church on Friday, Nov. 23, at 3 p.m. Interment
in North Bend Cemetery will follow the service.
William J. Buckley
William J. Buckley, 70, of 59 E. Church St., Lock Haven, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001, in the extended care unit of Lock Haven Hospital.
Born Sept. 19, 1931 in Scranton, he was the son of Lorraine Flynn Buckley of Scranton and the late William Buckley.
On March 12, 1955 in Scranton, he married Mildred J. Robinson. She survives.
A Memorial Mass will be in Immaculate Conception Church, 310 W. Water St., Lock Haven, Sat. Nov. 24, at 1 p.m. Celebrant will be Rev. Daniel O’Neill. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends will be received at the church Saturday, from 12:30 p.m. until the time of Mass.

Mildred L. Barto, 81, formerly of Pine Creek, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, in ManorCare, Jersey Shore.
Born Jan. 8, 1920 in Huntley, she was the daughter of the late George and Grace Logue Conner.
She was married to Harris W. Barton, who died on Aug. 4, 1980.
A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Ted VanSchoick, chaplain at ManorCare, will officiate. Burial will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery.

Jerry L. McGill, 62, of 68 Old Bridge Road, Lock Haven, died Nov. 19, 2001, at HealthSouth, Nittany Valley Rehab, Pleasant Gap.
Born July 18, 1939 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Reuben and Laura McCloskey McGill.
He was married to the former Joy Pearce on Aug. 25, 2001 in Williamsport. She survives.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., Nov. 23, 2001, in the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall. The Rev. Marie Lewis will officiate. Born May 6, 1922 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Guy Charles and Hazel I. Stahl Parks.
She and her husband, James P., observed their 60th wedding anniversary July 3, he survives.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Knight-Confer’s 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport, with Rev. Russell D. Small officiating. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Interment

Malcolm “Mac” Kunes, 81, of Blanchard, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, in Lock Haven Hospital.
Born Sept. 19, 1920 in Blanchard, he was the son of the late Leone and Florence Boone Kunes.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the Liberty Baptist Church, Blanchard. The Rev. Stan Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Baptist Cemetery, Blanchard, with military services. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the church.

Russell A. Yost, 81, of 73 Honeysuckle Lane, Lock Haven, died Nov. 15, 2001, in his home.
Born April 7, 1920 in Flemington, he was the son of Arnold and Christine Eminizer Yost.
His wife, Mary H. Heverly Yost, whom he married in October of 1941, survives.
Burial and services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Joseph Anthony Welteroth, 74, of Fairfield Township, died Nov. 13, 2001.
He was born Jan. 15, 1927 in Williamsport, and was a lifetime resident of Lycoming County. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Welteroth.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at the Annunciation Church (corner of Walnut and Fourth streets, Williamsport) at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will follow at the Montoursville Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Spitler’s Funeral Home, 733 E. Broad St., Montoursville, from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday evening, Nov. 16.
There will be a prayer vigil at 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Bruce L. Glossner, 58, of Flemington, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001 at home.
Born in Beech Creek on March 21, 1943, he was the son of the late Donald S. and Alice P. Peters Glossner.
He and the former Rhoda A. Miller were married on Oct. 5, 1965. They recently celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary.
Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 16 at 10 a.m. in Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Boulevard, Mill Hall, with Elder John F. Harvey officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral chapel.

Robert L. Marks, 76, of McElhattan, died Wednesday, Nov. 14 in ManorCare Health Services, Jersey Shore.
Born March 11, 1925, in Jersey Shore, he was a son of the late Clair J. and Giulia Letts Marks. His father was a prominent Jersey Shore businessman.
Graveside services will be held Friday, Nov. 16, 2001 at 1 p.m. in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport, is handling arrangements.
Herman W. Bubb
Herman W. Bubb, 74, of 9 Farmway Drive, Richboro, Northampton Township, Bucks County, died of natural causes on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at 10:30 a.m. in Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, where he had been a patient for one day.
He was born in Augustaville, a son of the late Rev. Walter F. and Adlene E. Behrent Bubb. His wife, Roberta (Orsatti) Bubb, survives.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Bean Funeral Home in Reading. Friends may call at the Bean Funeral Home, North 16th and Rockland Sts., Hampden Heights, Reading, from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Wilbur W. Bubb will officiate. Interment
