Myrtle Jean Knarr Bloom
Services were held in Geneva, N.Y. for Myrtle Jean Knarr Bloom, 74, who died July 29, 2001 after a lengthy illness.
Born May 3, 1927 in Flemington, she was the daughter of the late Henry N. and Mary E. Collins Knarr.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jack D. Bloom, in 1990, and two brothers, Harry and Daniel J. Knarr.
Annabelle M. Bradney
Annabelle Marie Bradney, 73, of Susquehanna Avenue, Renovo, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, at home.
She was born Feb. 11, 1928 in Drury’s Run, a daughter of the late Charles J. and Elizabeth Lindenmuth Pedokus.
She was married to Eugene F. Bradney in April of 1947. He preceded her in death in 1984.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo, is in charge of arrangements.

Janet M. Bloom
Janet M. Bloom, 64, of 1150 W. Fourth St., Lock Haven, died Aug. 9, 2001, in the Lock Haven Hospital. She had been in failing health since May, and had entered the hospital on July 28, 2001.
Mrs. Bloom was born Nov. 6, 1936 in Lock Haven, and was the daughter of the late James and Irene Febish Probst.
Private services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. Interment
will be in the Dunnstown Cemetery.

Geraldine W. (Gerry) Powers, 72, of 205 Kyler Ave., Mill Hall, died Aug. 9, 2001, in Williamsport Hospital.
Born Jan. 3, 1929 in Beech Creek, she was the daughter of the late Paul B. and Margaret N. Ludwig McGhee.
She was a 1947 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
She was married to H. Donald Powers, who died June 6, 1997.
Memorial services will be Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001 at 3 p.m. in the Hillview Wesleyan Church, 1200 W. Fourth St., Flemington. Rev. Kenneth W. Louden Jr. will officiate. Interment
will be in Jacksonville Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the fellowship hall of the church from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the Ross Library.

Mildred C. Polski, 79, of North Bend, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, in Bucktail Medical Center.
Born April 10, 1922 in Renovo, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Caroline Hiller Hevner.
She was married to Edward F. Polski, who was killed in action in France during World War II, in 1944.
There will be no funeral services or visitation.
The family suggests contributions be made to the St. Joseph Renovation fund.

Clifton L. Glossner
Clifton L. Glossner, 82, of 1726 State Road 54, Montgomery, formerly of Ocala, Fla. and Beech Creek, died at his home, Aug. 7, 2001.
He was born Jan. 18, 1919 in Beech Creek, the son of the late Jesse V. and Thersea Earon Glossner.
On March 13, 1941 in Kentucky, he married Betty C. Eyer, who survives at home.
Memorial services will be Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at 11 a.m., in the Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, Mill Hall, with Warren D. Fisher, his son-in-law, officiating. Entombment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery Mausoleum, Mill Hall. Friends will be received at the church Saturday, one hour prior to services.
The family will provide the flowers and requests memorial contributions to the Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church or the Susquehanna Health System Hospice through the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, Mill Hall.
Harold C. (Pete) Fantaskey
Harold C. (Pete) Fantaskey, 77, of R.R. 1, Box 54A, Ridgway, died Monday evening at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys, following a brief illness.
He was born Sept. 23, 1923 in Renovo, a son of the late Paul and Anna (Pollack) Fantaskey Sr.
He married Gladys L. Jordan on July 21, 1945. She preceded him in death.
Funeral and committal services will be at the Thompson Funeral Home, Thursday at 10 a.m. Officiating will be Fr. Davis, parochial vicar of St. Leo Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Renovo. Friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Leo’s Church or the American Diabetes Foundation.
Beatrice P. Moyer
Beatrice P. Moyer, 80, of Loganton, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, in Jersey Shore Hospital, Jersey Shore.
Born July 17, 1921 in Rebersburg, she was the daughter of the late Robert C. and Miriam L. Breon Brungart.
She was married to Jerry S. Moyer on Oct. 15, 1954. He preceded her in death in 1977.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, in the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St., Millheim. The Rev. Howard P. Wasson will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Greenburr, Logan Township. G. Joseph Baratta, 79, of 246 Eighth St., Renovo, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, in Susque-View Home, Lock Haven.
Born Nov. 30, 1921 in Renovo, he was the son of the late Frank Baratta and Grace Martella Baratta Ransdorf.
On Aug. 25, 1949 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Renovo, he married Louise Baratta. She preceded him in death in 1994.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Aug. 8, 2001, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Renovo. The Rev. Neil Dadey will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hyner. There will be no public visitation.

Born Sept. 18, 1938 in Beech Creek, she was the daughter of the late Christie and Catherine Bartholomew Bitner. She was a 1956 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
She was married to Reuben L. Rickert on Jan. 15, 1957. He preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 1992.

Born Dec. 31, 1917 in Sinnemahoning, he was the son of Thomas E. Moore and the former Clair Girdon.
He was united in marriage on July 25, 1936 to the former Mary Gavlock. She preceded him in death on Aug. 30, 1999.

J. Dale Florey, 81, of 125 10th St., Renovo, died Aug. 5, 2001, in the Bucktail Medical Center, South Renovo.
He was born Aug. 17, 1919 in Williamsport, the son of the late Paul L. and Margaret Thompson Florey.
On April 13, 1946 in Williamsport, he married Kathryn E. Klein, who survives.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001 in the First United Methodist Church, Renovo, with Pastor Ann Reynolds, his pastor, officiating. Friends will be received at the church from noon until the time of services Saturday.
The family will provide flowers and suggests memorial contributions to either the Bucktail Medical Center or the Renovo Library.

She was married to Earl F. Whitman, who preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 1983.

Born June 23, 1924 in Orient, Ill., she was the daughter of the late James and Marietta Dart Roe. She graduated from West Frankfort High School, West Frankfort, Ill.
She was married to Robert (Pat) Davy on Dec. 28, 1943 in St. Louis, Mo. He survives.

Born Nov. 18, 1917 in Altoona, she was the daughter of the late Nunzio and Agata (Sodano) Cataldo.
She was married to Anthony J. Renzo. He preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 1983.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, in St. Agnes Catholic Church, 3 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven. Visitation will be Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001 in Covenant United Methodist Church. The Rev. James VanZandt will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home.

Fred E. Wykoff, 79, of Renovo, died at Bucktail Medical Center on July 24, 2001.
He was born in Renovo on Jan. 7, 1922, a son of the late Frank and Florence Wykoff.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda M. (Hickok) Wykoff on June 7, 2001. They were married March 28, 1953.
Joint memorial services for Fred and Hilda will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at the New Maple Grove Church in Hammersley Fork, with Pastor Ann Runnels officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.

Virgil Castle, a 55-year resident of Mill Hall, died Sunday, July 29, 2001, at the Stratford House Nursing Home, Chattanooga, Tenn. He had relocated to Chattanooga from Mill Hall in May of 2000.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Beatrice Castle.

Mary L. Shope, 75, of Renovo, died at Bucktail Medical Center on Saturday, July 28, 2001.
She was born in Renovo on Aug. 27, 1925, a daughter of the late Anna (Barbarich) Kanocz.
She is survived by her husband, David D. Shope Sr., whom she married in Renovo on Sept. 24, 1949.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Renovo at 10 a.m., Tuesday, with Fr. Daniel O’Neil celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo, from 6-9 p.m., Monday. The Altar & Rosary Society will lead the rosary at 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with the C.D.A. prayer service immediately following.

Lorraine H. Eldred, 75, of Homestead, Fla., passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2001 in Mount Sinai Medical Center.
She was born on July 17, 1926 in Blanchard, the daughter of the late Franklin and Wilda (Kunes) Heverly, where she was raised and educated, graduating from Lock Haven Senior High School.
On Sept. 20, 1947 in Blanchard, she was married to William K. “Bill” Eldred Jr., with whom she shared a devoted relationship of 53 years.
Graveside services will take place at the convenience of the family at a later date in the Blanchard Christian Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Branam Funeral Home, Homestead, Fla.
Donations in memory of Lorraine may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine.
