Earl S. Miller
Earl Samuel Miller, 81, of Meadowbrook Park, Muncy, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001 at the Muncy Valley Hospital Emergency Room.
He and his wife, the former Evelyn M. Miller, were married Sept. 8, 1944, she survives.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Wallis-Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. Officiating will be the Rev. William E. Rall, retired pastor of Pennsdale United Methodist Church. Interment
will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Albert J. (Abe) Poremsky
Albert J. (Abe) Poremsky, 78, of 2433 Lincoln Drive, Williamsport, formerly of Lock Haven, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001 at the Williamsport Hospital.
Born July 11, 1922 in Franklinville, he was the son of the late John A. and Almeda Archey Poremsky.
Funeral services will be at the Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven, Friday, June 15 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Theodore L. Cockley of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Williamsport. Burial will be in Dunnstown Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home Friday morning from 9:30 until the time of service.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Boy Scout Troop No. 40 through the funeral home.
Thomas D. Forsyth
Thomas D. Forsyth, 77, formerly of Island Route, Lock Haven, died Wednesday, June 13, 2001 in Valley View Nursing Home.
Born April 27, 1924 in Houtzdale, he was the son of the late Fred C. and Jeanette McDonald Forsyth.
He and his wife, Charlotte R. Lehman Forsyth, were married in 1967. She survives.
Funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. Interment
will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are to be made to the donor’s favorite charity.

Margaret Cox Smith, 77, of Kephart Plaza, Lock Haven, died Monday, June 11, 2001 at the Lock Haven Hospital.
She was born Dec. 6, 1923 in Lock Haven, a daughter of the late Arthur and Clara Young Cox.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene H. Smith.

Ida Anna Emma (Vogler) Kleinschmidt, 94, of West Water Street, Lock Haven, died Sunday, June 10, 2001 at home.
She was born Feb. 8, 1907 in Brohm/Mecklenberg, Germany, a daughter of the late Karl and Wilhemine Volger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Erich Kleinschmidt.

LOGANTON — Russell R. Barner, 96, of Loganton, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001 in Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit.
He was born in Loganton on Aug. 27, 1904, a son of the late Grant U. and Sadie Fiddler Barner. He and Ruth Karstetter were married on Sept. 16, 1945 in Buffalo, N.Y. His wife preceded him in death.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2001, at Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren-Eastville. The Rev. Kenneth Geisewite will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from noon until the time of funeral Friday. Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 95 E. Helen Irene Wagner, a resident of Rose View Manor in Williamsport, entered into rest on June 10, 2001, at Rose View Manor.
She was born and raised in Logan Mills. She and her late husband, F. Lee Wagner, married on April 1, 1923, and lived in Williamsport until moving to Loganton in their remaining years together. F. Lee Wagner died in 1991.
Visitation will be held at the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, on Friday, June 15, from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the same location on Saturday, June 16, at 11 a.m. A memorial luncheon will follow at the Gamble Farm Inn.

He was united in marriage to the former Charlotte A. Reed, who preceded him in death Dec. 10, 1970.

Vernon R. Miller Sr., 66, of 417 Grape St., Castanea, died Sunday, June 10, 2001 at Lock Haven Hospital.
Born Feb. 8, 1935, in Flemington, he was the son of the late Jerry Miller and Gertrude Burd Miller of Jersey Shore.
His wife, Rose E. Miller, died April 30, 1997.

Frances Lucille (Seigel) Warren, 96, passed away Sunday afternoon, June 10, 2001, at Susque-View Home in Lock Haven, where she had been a guest for two years.
She was born in Jersey Shore, a daughter of George and Dora Noltee Seigel.
She was married to John E. Warren Sr., who passed away in 1975. They had been married 46 years.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 14, 2001, at 11 a.m. from the Jersey Shore Presbyterian Church, 235 S. Main St., Jersey Shore, with Rev. Kenneth Page officiating. Interment

Ned N. Sweitzer, 82, of 4671 Rt. 44 Highway, died Monday, June 11, 2001 at his residence.
He was born in Rauchtown, Jan. 22, 1919, a son of David A. and Lula C. Welshans Sweitzer.
He was married to the former Harriet B. Fenstermaker on Dec. 19, 1942.
His wife Harriet, survives. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from St. James Lutheran Church in Rauchtown, with his paster, Rev. Dennis Crissman, officiating. Interment

Mary E. Riddles, 84, of Renovo, died at Bucktail Medical Center, Saturday, June 9, 2001.
She was born in Renovo, July 28, 1916, a daughter of the late Elmer and Helen Haschock Kennedy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Riddles, on Dec. 1, 1969. They were married in Renovo on Nov. 21, 1944.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, June 16 at 11 a.m. with Father Donald Boslett officiating. Interment
will take place in North Bend Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to Mass.

Virginia “Mary” Murphy, 82, of Avis, died at ManorCare Health Services in Jersey Shore, Sunday, June 10, 2001.
She was born in Mill Hall on Jan. 10, 1919, a daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Phillips) Miller.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Summers, in 1972. She is survived by her present husband, Francis L. Murphy of Avis.
Funeral services will be at the Helt Hanna Kline Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Richard Cohoon officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Born in Lock Haven, he served in the Navy in World War II and served as Dean of the College of Education at Kutztown University. He and wife Patricia O’Donnell Ryan were married 47 years. SOUTH RENOVO — Hilda M. Wykoff, 85, of Renovo, died at Bucktail Medical Center on Thursday, June 7, 2001.
Born on Dec.14, 1915 in Morristown, N.Y., she was of the Methodist faith, and was a past Worthy Matron of the Series Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
On March 28, 1953 she married Fred Wykoff, who survives. Visitation and a memorial funeral service will be held at a future date. Service time and date will be published. She was married to Joseph H. Peter. He preceded her in death in 1989.

She was born in Caldwell, Jan. 17, 1925, a daughter of the late Chance and Katherine Pepperman Bilbay.
She married Ellis C. Wolfe on Sept. 26, 1942 in Wheeling, W. Va. They celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary last September, he survives.

He was born on July 19, 1929 in Lock Haven, a son of the late Delmar and Alta Bentz Decker.
On Jan. 1, 1948, he married Marian Selfe. She survives.

Born April 23, 1940 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Edward H. and Betty J. Hockenberry Powers.
He was married to Mary Ann Reeder Powers on Jan. 6, 1962. She survives.

She married Glenn H. Hiller on April 15, 1956. He survives.

He was married to Nellie Dearborn on Sept. 9, 1945. She preceded in him in death Jan. 29, 1991.
