Florence I. Ruth
Florence I. (Brugger) Ruth, 76, of Renovo, died at Bucktail Medical Center on Saturday, May 12, 2001.
She was born in Ephrata on Jan. 24, 1925, a daughter of the late Robert and Mary Moyer Brugger.
On Dec. 24, 1943 in Ephrata, she married Paul E. Ruth, who survives.
Funeral services will be held at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo, at 8 p.m. Monday. The Rev. John Godissart will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mary Ellen McGill
Mary Ellen McGill, 84, of 9 N. Second St., Wormleysburg, died May 13, 2001 in the Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill. She had been in failing health for the last several weeks and was stricken at home.
Mrs. McGill was born March 24, 1917 in Lock Haven, and was the daughter of the late Sidney and Lottie Simcox Cann.
She was married to Boyd R. McGill on Sept. 24, 1934. He survives at home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2001 at 1 p.m. in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Officiating will be the Rev. Marie Lewis of the Dunnstown United Methodist Church. Interment
will be in the Dunnstown Cemetery. Friends will be received in the funeral home one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.
Dorothy F. Ruhl
Dorothy F. Ruhl, 78, formerly of 416 Wright St., Flemington, died May 11, 2001 in Susque-View Home.
Born July 24, 1922 in Mill Hall, she was the daughter of the late Ray R. and Nina Swartz Scott.
She was married to Richard Ruhl on Dec. 10, 1940 in Washington, D.C. He survives in Susque-View Home.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2001 in the Mill Hall United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ellen Evans, her pastor, will officiate. Burial will be Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall. There will be no public visitation.
The family will provide the flowers and requests memorial contributions be made to the Mill Hall United Methodist Church Stained Glass Window Fund.

Marie F. Rinella
Marie F. Rinella, 80, of 658 Bellefonte Ave., Lock Haven, died in the Jersey Shore Hospital Thursday, May 10, 2001. She had been a guest at ManorCare in Jersey Shore for quite some time.
Born and raised in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Mary Donovan, and had been a student at Immaculate Conception High School in Lock Haven. She and her husband, Joseph P. Rinella, were married in the Immaculate Conception Church in Lock Haven. Mass of Christian Burial for Marie F. Rinella will be at 10 a.m., Monday, May 14, in the Immaculate Conception Church of Lock Haven, with the Rev. Msgr. Dennis R. Boggs, pastor, as celebrant. Interment
will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Lock Haven. There will be no visitation.
Raymond Martin Topp
Raymond Martin Topp, 70, of the Conley Bottom Community, the husband of Elsie Topp, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2001 in Monticello, Ky.
He was born March 11, 1931 in Coldwater, Mich. and was the son of the late Alvis and Estella Topp. The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home in Monticello, Ky. with Brother Harlan Ogle officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Monticello, Ky. The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 13 in the chapel.

Suzanne M. Mazzulla, 71, of Renovo, died suddenly at Bucktail Medical Center on Wednesday, May 9, 2001.
She was born in Montoursville on Feb. 13, 1903, a daughter of the late Michael and Ida (Conway) Mazzulla.
Memorial services will be at 8 p.m. Friday evening in the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo, with Fr. Donald Boslett officiating. Interment
will take place in Fairview Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials are requested to the Western Clinton County Youth and Recreation Center.
James R. Miller Sr.
James R. Miller Sr., 59, passed away. He was the beloved husband of Mary (nee Bahajak). He was the dear son of the late Clair and Nadine (nee Fryer). Funeral services will be Saturday, May 12, in the McGorray Brothers Funeral Home, 14133 Detroit Ave., Lakewood, Ohio, at 9:30 a.m. Interment

Forrest C. Styers Sr., 84, of R.R. Lock Haven, passed away May 9, 2001, in the Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit, where he had been a resident since Dec. 25, 2001.
He was born in Clinton County, March 4, 1917, and was the son of the late Henry and Stella Styers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Zetta Shady Styers, who passed away Nov. 18, 1992.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 12, 2001 at 2 p.m. in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Officiating will be Pastor Jeffrey L. Bayliff of the First Baptist Church of Lock Haven. Interment
will be in the Dunnstown Cemetery. Friends will be received in the funeral home Saturday morning from 11 a.m. until the time of services.

Dean Claire Karstetter, 65, of Loganton (Booneville), died Tuesday, May 8, 2001 in Williamsport Hospital.
Born Aug. 2, 1935 in Logan Township, he was the son of Clarence F. Karstetter of Lock Haven and the late Dorothy E. (Garrett) Karstetter.
He was married to Betty J. (Laubscher) Karstetter. She survives.
Funeral services will be private. Interment

Philomena R. Jackson
Philomena R. Jackson, wife of Orvis R. Jackson of 627 Woods Ave., Lock Haven, died Wednesday morning, May 9, 2001 in the Lock Haven Hospital.
She was born Feb. 5, 1918 in Lock Haven, a daughter of the late James and Christina Marasco Sementelli. She had attended St. Agnes Elementary School and the Immaculate Conception High School.
The Rev. Father Charles H. Hipp, now deceased, married her and her husband, Orvis, on Aug. 15, 1947 in St. Agnes Church, Lock Haven.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2001 in St. Agnes Church with the Rev. Neil Dady officiating. Interment
will be in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home, Lock Haven, on Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. The Alpine Star Service will be at 7:30 p.m. and the Christian Wake Service will be at 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the VNA Hospice.

Jennie Maxine Aber, 80, of Orviston, died Tuesday, May 8, 2001 in Susque-View Home, Lock Haven.
Born March 31, 1921 in Clarence, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Ardna Fleming Watson. She was a 1940 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
She was married to Charles M. Aber Sr. on Nov. 15, 1941. He preceded her in death Jan. 28, 1979.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 11, 2001 at 10 a.m. in the W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, 837 Main St., Howard. Pastor Donald Aber will officiate. Burial will be in Askey Cemetery, Snow Shoe. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1976.

Born Nov. 29, 1924 in Mackeyville, he was the son of the late Ernest and Mary Williams Ferree.
He was married to the former Thelma P. Shirk on July 7, 1947. She survives.

Clarence R. Bloom, 81, of Glen Richey, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2001 at his residence.
Born April 29, 1920 in Curwensville, he was the son of Edward and Grace (McDivett) Bloom.
He wed Lula Mae Rummings, on June 28, 1941 in Jersey Shore, who preceded him in death on April 13, 1998. A Celebration of Life service will be at the Jersey Shore Church of God, River Road, Jersey Shore, on Sunday, May 13, 2001 at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Chris Simmons officiating. Interment
will be in the Thompson Cemetery, R.D. Glen Richey.

Born April 25, 1908 in Antes Gap, he was the son of Harry C. Williams and the former Clara Mae Siegel.
He was united in marriage Oct. 11, 1951 to the former Emma H. Carstetter. She preceded him in death Aug. 22, 1994.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis I. (Jack) Dempsey in May 1971. A Funeral Mass will be Monday, May 14, 2001 in St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11 a.m. with Father Donald Boslett officiating. Friends will be received Monday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Maxwell’s, 205 Fifth St., Renovo.

Born June 10, 1955 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Wilbur L. (Pete) Folmar and the former Lillian M. Malloy.
She is survived by her husband, George R. Teufel. They were united in marriage June 9, 1978 in the Church of Saint Luke in Jersey Shore.

Born Oct. 15, 1914 in Niagara Falls, N.Y., he was the son of the late Harvey S. and Emma Hall Hoy.
He was married to Helen L. Matis Hoy on Aug. 23, 1937 in Maryland. She survives.

Garry W. Simcox, 51, formerly of Rt. 64, Lamar, died in Grugan Township.
Born June 10, 1949 in Lock Haven, a son of the late Richard and Verna Ingram Simcox.
He is survived by a daughter, Jeanette Simcox of Lock Haven; a half-sister, Donna Smith; and a step-father, William Nihart.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Esther V. Brent
Mrs. Esther V. Brent, 80, of the Windsor Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, 580 Poquonock Ave., Windsor, Conn. and formerly of Mt. Carmel, died Friday, May 4, 2001 in the center where she was a resident. She had been in ill health since 1996.
Born Aug. 28, 1920 in Mt. Carmel, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Anna (Colross) Bridy.
She lived in Lock Haven in 1987. She moved back to Mt. Carmel, then in 1996 she moved to Windsor, Conn. and resided there until her death.
On March 29, 1948 in St. Peter’s Church in Mt. Carmel by Msgr. Paul P. Weaver, she was married to Joseph F. Brent, who preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 1986. She was a homemaker.
Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 7, 2001 at 2:30 p.m. in the Divine Redeemer Church, Mt. Carmel. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Bear Gap. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, May 7, 2001 from 1:30 until 2:15 p.m. in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mt. Carmel, C.J. Lucas Supervisor.

She was married to Charles J. Taylor on March 18, 1935. He preceded her in death Jan. 26, 1975.

Born Sept. 7, 1935 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence F. Chaney and Sarah F. (Kanouff) Chaney Stroup.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Shroat, who died in 1992. There will be no public visitation or funeral services. Interment
