Betty Lou Zeni
Betty Lou Zeni, 74, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Saturday,
January 17th 2004 in Norman, Oklahoma. Memorial Services will be
held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 20th at Havenbrook Chapel with
Chaplain officiating. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook
Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
She was born September 1, 1929, in Beaver Dam Wisconsin to
Emma and Walter Kelm. She was raised in a family with four brothers
and eight sisters. She married Milton Zeni on May 22, 1948, in
Madison, Wisconsin. Milton and Betty lived in Wisconsin, Nevada,
Utah, California, Oklahoma, and Colorado. In 1977 she and Milton
returned to Oklahoma, first moving to Edmond and then to Norman in
1994, to be near their daughters. Betty loved being a homemaker and
raising her children. She felt very fortunate that she and Milton were
able to travel extensively around the world before her health began to
fail and Milton was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. She enjoyed
living at Arbor House for the past three years and made many friends
with the residents and staff members. Betty was a strong woman who
fought valiantly against poor health for many years.
Betty is survived by her husband Milton; a son, Thomas and his
wife, Lauris, of Williamsburg, Virginia; two daughters. Laurie Wynn
and Susan Pickett of Norman; four sisters, Laura Grunberg, Gladys
Ibishch, Imogene Grotenhuis and Alice Pagels, all of Wisconsin; five
grandchildren, JR Stalcup and wife, Kimberly, of Naples, Florida,
Brenden Zeni, of Williamsburg, Virginia, Ashley Zeni, of College
Station Texas, and Justin and Brooke Pickett, of Norman
In lieu of flowers, the families suggest donations be made to
either the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of Milton, or the American
Heart Association.

Nettie Jane Adams
Nettie Jane Adams, 84, of Norman,
Oklahoma, died Saturday, July 10, 2004 in
Norman, Oklahoma. Graveside Services will be
held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at St.
Joseph Catholic Cemetery with Leon Dennis
officiating. Pallbearers are Scott Henderson,
Stephen Henderson, Jay Adams, Kevin Cox, Bob
Cox, Jr., and Scott Rothschild. Honorary
pallbearers will be the Westside Church of Christ
Ladies’ Bible Class. Services are under the
direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Nettie Jane Adams (maiden name Ledbetter), born July 24, 1919 in
Huntsville, Arkansas to Lemon & Oleva Ledbetter (maiden name
Dennis). She was raised in Bristow, OK where she graduated from
high school and began her career with Southwestern Bell Telephone
Company as an operator in 1936 and retired in 1981 from
Southwestern Bell as a manager in Oklahoma City. She was baptized
in the Church of Christ as a teenager in Bristow. Her family moved
to New Mexico from Bristow and she met and married John Wood
Adams in 1940. They returned to Oklahoma and eventually made
their home in Norman in 1960. Her children and grandchildren were
the highlight of her life. She loved cooking for her family, especially
Thanksgiving and Christmas, working in her garden, and doing the
daily crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Bristow Historical
Society and the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Westside
Church of Christ in Norman.
Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and
oldest son, Jerry Adams. She is survived by a son, Paul Adams of the
home, daughter and husband, Dianne and Jerry Henderson of
Norman, daughter-in-law Pat Adams of Norman, grandsons Scott and
Stephen Henderson and Jay Adams of Norman, grandaughter Kelly
McBride of Norman, two great-grandchildren Kelsey and Mark
McBride, two sisters, Gaye Cox of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Edna
Rothschild Champeau of Norman, many nieces, nephews, and friends
from Southwestern Bell and Westside Church of Christ.

Melvin Aspley Cook
Melvin Aspley Cook, 97, of Lexington, Oklahoma, died at
9:45 AM, Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at home. Funeral Services will
be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, July 30, 2004, at Havenbrook Funeral
Home Chapel with Bill Cook officiating. Interment will follow at
the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Services are under
the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Melvin was born September 29, 1906, in Poolville,
Oklahoma, to Maurice and Leona Cook. He was a high school
graduate. He married Inez Patterson on August 28, 1929 in Fox,
Oklahoma. They had three children, Lois, Billy and Don. Melvin
was a longtime member of the Baptist Church. He was ordained as
a Deacon in 1945 in Ashley, Illinois, and also served in churches in
Okemah, Hennessey, and the N.W. Baptist church in Oklahoma City.
Melvin worked for Texaco for over forty years in Illinois and
Oklahoma. He received several awards from Texaco as a safety
instructor. After retirement he and Ines moved to Oklahoma City
where he worked as a security guard for the Dillard Department Store.
Melvin was preceded in death by son, Lois; his wife, Inez;
three sisters, Edith, Lettie and Burnice; three brothers, Edwin,
Woodroe and Wilton. Survivors include two sons, Billy of Norman
and Don of Houston, TX; two brothers, Judson of Oklahoma City
and Roy of Wichita, Kansas; five grandchildren, Dale, Steven, Scott,
Renee and DeAnna; seven great-grandchildren, Nathan, Brandon,
Amanda, Shawna, BayLee, Aiden, and Gabriel; and a host of cousins,
nieces, nephews and friends.

Virginia Wall McCall, (Mrs. O. T. McCall)
Virginia Wall McCall, 82, of
Norman, Oklahoma died Saturday, July 17,
2004, in Norman. Funeral Services will be
held at 2:00 P. M., Tuesday, July 20, 2004,
at the First Baptist Church of Norman,
Oklahoma with Dr. Lavonn Brown
officiating, Interment will follow at the
Norman I. O. O. F. Cemetery in Norman.
Services are under the direction of
Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman.
Mrs. McCall was born in Petersburg,
Virginia on December 31, 1921, to Charles
and Neva Shrum Wall. She married Lt. O. T. McCall on September
18, 1942, in Prince George County, Virginia. She left her beloved
State of Virginia and her family and friends to move to Norman when
her husband went overseas in 1944. She lived in Norman for sixty
years. In a couple of months, she and her husband, O. T. would have
been married sixty two years.
Mrs. McCall was a member of First Baptist Church of
Norman, PEO, Junior League, AJL Club, her sewing club, University
of Oklahoma Alumni Association, Hospital Auxiliary and numerous
other activities. She was a member of First Baptist Church Choir for
over 30 years and taught a Sunday School class of teenage girls, as
well as, being a member of women’s open Sunday School class. She
was a loving, caring wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. McCall was preceded in death by her parents; two
brothers, Charles Wall, Jr. and Harold Wall and two infant twin
daughters. She is survived by her husband, O. T., of the home; two
daughters, Gail Schwabe and husband, Dennis and Julie McCall, both
of Norman: four grandchildren, Grant Schwabe, Chase Schwabe,
Summer Schwabe and Bevin Edwards; and two great-grandchildren;
a sister-in-law and nieces and nephews from Virginia.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church,
Music Department.

PATRICK ALAN MORSE
PATRICK ALAN MORSE, 48, of
Norman, Oklahoma passed away on July 15,
2004, after a 19-month struggle with pancreatic
cancer. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m.,
Monday, July 19 at The First Christian Church
in Norman with Rev. David Spain
officiating.(Childcare will be available at the
church). A graveside service will be held at the
Resthaven Cemetery in Ponca City, OK at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of
Norman, Oklahoma.
Pat was born on May 8, 1956, in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
After residing for four years in Lake Charles, LA, Pat returned to
Ponca City where he remained until graduating from high school
in 1974. During high school, Pat participated in a number of
activities including playing on the 1973 and 1974 Oklahoma State
Championship Volleyball teams.
Pat attended the University of Oklahoma, graduating with a
Bachelor Degree in Business Administration-Accounting in 1979.
Subsequently he attended the University of Oklahoma Law School,
receiving his Juris Doctor Degree in 1982. Pat worked for the
Oklahoma City law firms of Bright & Nichols and Crowe &
Dunlevy until 1989 when he joined the Norman law firm of
Pitchlynn & Morse, where he worked until his death.
He lived in Norman from 1974 until he passed away. He
enjoyed his family, reading, playing basketball at the YMCA and
golf. He was an avid OU fan, a football and basketball season
ticket holder and enjoyed traveling to away games.
Pat and his family would like to acknowledge the
compassion and support for Pat shown by the Rev. David Spain,
First Christian Church, Norman, Oklahoma; physicians and staff
associated with OU Medical Center and particularly Rise, Teresa,
Sherri and Michelle of the Cade Cancer Center; Jeff of Option
Care; Hospice of Oklahoma County; and Harold and Stacy
Roberts, Tuttle, OK, during his illness.
Pat is survived by his wife of almost 11 years, Marilyn
Young, and their two children, Kyle Joseph Morse (4) and Valerie
Gene Morse (2). Additional family survivors include his parents,
Alpha Jay and Irma Gene Perryman Morse of Ponca City, OK; two
sisters, Rebecca Morse, Oklahoma City, OK, and Laura Morse,
Los Angeles, CA; father- and mother-in-law, Joseph and Ruth Ann
Young, Chandler, OK, formerly of Woodward; brother-in-law,
Tommy Young, Enid, OK; brother-in-law, Robert, his wife, Kenna
and their children, Kahle, Kade and McKenzie, Shattuck, OK.

the Heart of Oklahoma Chapter of the American Red Cross, 1205

Juvine "Judy" Wilson
Juvine "Judy" Wilson, 77, of
Norman, Oklahoma, died Wednesday,
July 14, 2004 at home. Graveside
Services will be held at 11:00 AM,
Friday, July 16, 2004 at Sunset
Memorial Park Cemetery, 2301 E.
Indian Hills Road in Norman,
Oklahoma with Mr. Glen Vaught
officiating. Services are under the
direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home
of Norman, Oklahoma.
Juvine "Judy" Wilson, who was
born January 3, 1927, to Shell and Ethel (Clements) Davis in
Henrietta, Texas. Judy married Richard "Jack" Wilson on October
4, 1942, in Walters, Oklahoma and they made Norman, Oklahoma,
their home in 1944. Judy retired from Safeway/Homeland after
twenty years as a meat wrapper. Prior to Safeway, Judy was the
proprietor of the Dixie Dog drive-in and Pat and Sue's.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Jack'
Wilson; her sister, Gaynell Williams; her brother, Billy Shell
Davis; her grandson, Zach Adams; and her niece, Connie Sue
Harrell. She is survived by her children and their spouses,
daughter, Linda Farris and husband, Terry of Norman; two sons,
Donnie Wilson and wife, Barbara of Norman, and Butch Wilson
and wife, Debbie of Norman; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-one
great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; her nephew,
Wayne Mohney of Norman; her sister-in-law, Effie Davis of
Norman; her dear friends, Norma and Charlie Clark of Elmore
City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Judy loved her family and no person was a stranger in her
home. The holidays were her favorite times of the year and she
always hosted large family gatherings during each holiday. She
was especially well known for her homemade biscuits and gravy
and it was not uncommon to find 20 people gathered around her
table on Sunday mornings. Judy also enjoyed playing bingo and
going across the river to try her hand at the slot machines!
Judy's love and compassion for her family and friends will
be missed by all those so fortunate to have had her touch their
hearts.

Neal Linn Craig
Neal L. Craig 61, of Noble, Oklahoma passed away
Thursday, July 3, 2003. He was born May 18, 1942 in Norman.
Neal is the second of four children born to Silvie and Grace
(Moody) Craig. He attended Norman schools. He and Jeannie
Heflin of Norman were married Oct 4, 1963 and have lived in
Noble for the past 30 years.
Neal is survived by his wife, Jeannie of the home; one
daughter, Lynn Wells and husband, Jerry of Blanchard; one son,
Darrel Craig of Noble; two brothers, Boyd Craig and wife, Sharon
of Plano, TX and Charles Craig and wife, Pam of Noble; one
sister, Elaine Chapman and husband, Freddie of Norman; four
grandchildren, Gary Craig of Minneola, TX, Nicklas and Justin
Wells of Blanchard, and Coty Craig of Tishomingo, OK.; four
nephews, three nieces and several great nieces and nephews.
Neal was preceded in death by his parents, Silvie and Grace
Craig, and one grandson, Joshua Craig. Graveside Services will be
held at 2.00 P.M., Saturday, July 5, 2003 at Noble I.O.O.F.
Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral
Home of Norman, Oklahoma.

William Rockney ("Rock") Breeden Sr.
William Rockney ("Rock") Breeden Sr., 52, of Norman
received God’s ultimate healing and went home to be with Jesus early
in the morning, June 15, 2003. At his passing, he was in his home,
surrounded by his family as they ushered him to his eternal home
singing praises to the Lord. Rock was at peace with a smile on his
face. He is with Jesus whom he loved so very much Rock was born
November 19, 1950, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Bradford Elgin Breeden
and Leola Evelyn Rhyne. He graduated from Central High School in
Tulsa, Oklahoma and attended Tulsa University and Oklahoma City
Community College. At the time of his death, Rock was employed by
Yamanouchi Pharma Technologies, Inc. in Norman as a Processing
Engineer, and he was a member of Bethesda Assembly of God Church
in South Oklahoma City.
Rock will be greatly missed by all his family, especially his
grandchildren who loved him very much. He was the greatest grandpa
we’ve ever known.
Rock was preceded in death by his mother. Rock is survived
by his wife, Carol, of the home; father, Bradford of Supulpa, OK; son,
William Rockney Breeden, Jr. ("Rock"); daughter, Saundra Sue
Breeden; step-son, Patrick Meek; step-daughter, Colleen Murphy;
sister, Carol Kindred; brothers, Paul Anthony Breeden and Bradford
Earl Breeden; and seven grandchildren.

JoAnn Craig
JoAnn Craig age 71 of Norman passed
away Saturday, June 5, 2004 after a brief
illness at Norman Regional Hospital.
Memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM,
Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at Berry Road Baptist
Church with Marshall Howard, officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of
Havenbrook Funeral of Norman.
JoAnn was born June 4, 1933 to A. J. and June Evans. She married
Sam Craig on July 25, 1952. She attended Cosmetology School in
1962 and later attended Nursing School in 1978. She worked as a L.
P. N. At Norman Regional Hospital for 18 years. Jo Ann was a
member of Corbett Baptist Church in Corbett, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Pug and Billy
Evans; sister, Linda Williams; and nephew, Ron Evans.
JoAnn is survived by her husband, Sam of the home; daughters,
Donna Howard and her husband Steve of Norman and Shan Nunnally
of Norman; grandsons, Sam Lingle and Chris Howard; brothers, Jack
Evans and wife Dorothy, Eddie Evans and wife Carol; sister June
Brandt and husband Jay; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Philip Lyle "Phil" Heitz
Philip Lyle "Phil" Heitz, 60, of
Norman, Oklahoma, died Saturday, June
26, 2004, in Norman, after a brief battle
with kidney cancer. Memorial Services
will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, July 1,
2004, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church
Parish Center at 421 E. Acres in Norman
with Deacon Jeff Willard officiating.
Services are under the direction of
Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman,
Oklahoma.
Phil Heitz was born May 13, 1944, in Norman, Oklahoma, to
Ronald Joe and Elizabeth (Welchert) Heitz. He attended Norman
High School and was active in Future Farmers of America. He
attended O.S.U. Technology School in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Mr.
Heitz spent most of his career as a grocery store manager, first for
Safeway stores and then at Homeland, for over thirty years. He
worked for his son in auto sales at Marc Heitz Chevrolet for the last
eight years. Mr. Heitz married Beth (Hildebrand) on June 15, 2004
in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was a member of St. Joseph
Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Beth, of the home; parents, R.J.
and Elizabeth Heitz of Norman, OK; two sons, Marc Heitz and wife,
Pamela of Norman, OK and Joe Heitz of Clarksville, TN; daughter,
Marcie Heitz of Norman, OK; three sisters, Pat Elmore, Melinda
Heitz of Norman, and Cheryl Davis of Moore, OK; two brothers,
Ronnie Heitz and Glen Heitz of Norman; and seven grandchildren,
Kylie and Major Heitz; Elliot McIlhaney, Tait, Jaxon, Wiley and
Jeritt Heitz.
Phil said " Everyone Come in Jimmy Buffett attire".

Irene Mary (Engelken) Lawrence
Irene Mary (Engelken) Lawrence passed
away peacefully at home Memorial Day. She
had suffered from the after-effects of polio since
childhood and because of her strength, bravery
and determination was an inspiration to her
family and friends. Dan and Irene would have
celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary on
June 6.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00
A.M., Thursday, June 3, 2004 at St. Thomas
More University Parish at 100 E. Stinson in
Norman, Oklahoma with Reverend Bill Pruett, celebrant. A Rosary
service will be held at 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at
Havenbrook Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of
Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Irene was born October 12, 1938, to Albert and Helen (Fangman)
Engelken in Seneca,
KS. Irene graduated from Mt. St. Scholastica College in Atchison,
Kansas, and received her master’s degree from the University of
Minnesota, Duluth. She taught in Nebraska and Minnesota and
worked for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. Irene retired
from the Joseph Harp Correctional Center in Lexington, Oklahoma
in 1992.
Survivors include her husband, Dan; sons, John and wife,
Sherri and Steven and wife, Amy; daughter, Gillian and husband,
Jeff; and her eleven brothers and sisters. Irene is also survived by
granddaughters, Sydney and Sarah; and grandson, Connor.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to St. Thomas More
University Parish, 100 E. Stinson, Norman, OK 73072 for masses in
her name.

Charles Livingston Little
Charles Livingston Little, 82, of Jacksonville, Florida, died
Saturday, June 26, 2004 in Jacksonville after an extended illness.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 2, 2004
at Hill Cemetery in Heavener with Reverend Mike DeMoss
officiating. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral
Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Charles was born November 14, 1921 in Heavener,
Oklahoma, to Ivy and Lucy (Livingson) Little. He grew up in
Heavener and Abbott, Arkansas. He graduated from High School in
Heavener in 1939. He then graduated from Draughns Business
School in Fort Smith, Arkansas with a degree in Business and
Accounting. Charles worked for the Milner Hotels prior to being
drafted in the U.S. Army. He served with the 3rd Army Corps in
Europe under the command of General Patton. After his discharge,
he returned to Detroit, Michigan where he worked for a number of
years. He moved to Lake Forest, Illinois where he raised his family
prior to moving to Jacksonville, Florida in 1982.
Charles was a member of the VFW. He was also active in the
Freemason Society and was a Shriner. He was a member of the Bible
Believers Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters,
Eula May, Dolora and Jane; and two brothers, Herman and Bill Little.
Survivors include his wife, Kay of the home; two daughters, Charlotte
Ann Malone and husband, James of Tuscon, AZ and Claudia
Globerger and husband, Wayne, of Chicago, Il; son, Alan Little of
Tuscon, AZ; step-daughter, Jeannie Keisling and husband, Fred, of
Jacksonville, FL; six grandchildren. Other survivors include, five
brothers, Neal Little of Edmond, OK; Oren Little of Austin, TX; Bob
Little of Arnold, MO; John Little of Double Oak, TX, and Wendell
Little of Purcell, OK; one sister, Lou Scrivner of Granbury, TX; and
a number of nieces and nephews.
