Jack Lee Leverich
Jack Lee Leverich, 78, of Norman, Oklahoma died
Thursday, January 9, 2003 in Norman. Graveside Services will
be held at 1100 a.m., Friday, January 11, 2003 at Resthaven
Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, with Reverend
Bob Adams officiating. Services are under the direction of
Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
Mr. Leverich was born on April 16, 1924 in Oklahoma
City, Oklahoma to Oscar and Vinnie Leverich. He graduated
from Capital Hill High School and later graduated from Bethany
Nazarene College. He served in the Coast Guard and United
States Marine Corp. He worked at the V. A. Hospital for
seventeen years. He then served 23 years on the O. U.
Police Department. Jack was an avid boy scout leader. He
started the first troops for disabled and handicapped boys. He
earned the Silver Beaver award, which is the highest award in
scouting.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Joe
Leverich and one sister, Margie Morris. He is survived by his
wife, Ruby Josephine (Jo), of the home; two daughters, Virgina
Bounds and husband, Richard, of Guthrie and Jacquie
Jackson and husband, Tom, of Little Axe; six grandchildren
and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Lula C. Mitchell
Lula C. Mitchell, 96, of Norman,
Oklahoma died Friday, January 24, 2003 in
Norman. Funeral Services will be held at
10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, January 28, 2002 at
the Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel in
Norman. Interment
will follow at Chapel
Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery in
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Services are
under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral
Home of Norman.
Mrs. Mitchell was born on March 8, 1906 in Velma,
Oklahoma to William Fred and Ellen R. Barker Arnold. She moved
to Oklahoma City, where she lived most of her adult life. She
graduated from highschool and married Thomas Mitchell. She
enjoyed traveling and dining out. Lula worked for the Department
of Public Safety, Driver License Division for twenty three years. She
was a member of the Mayfair Church of Christ in Oklahoma City.
She moved to Rambling Oaks Assisted Living in Norman in
November of 1999 from Oklahoma City, Ok.
Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents; husband;
three sisters and three brothers. She is survived by a number of
nieces and nephews, including Harry Dobbins and Aza Dobbins of
Norman, Oklahoma.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army
of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
James Polk Raney
James Polk Raney, 70, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Thursday,
January 2, 2003 in Norman, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be held
at 10:30 A.M., Monday, January 6, 2003 at Alameda Baptist Church
in Norman, Oklahoma with Reverend Phillip Ratliff officiating.
Graveside Services will follow at 2:00 P.M. at the Greenhill
Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma with full military honors.
Pallbearers will be John Black, Robert Looney, Billy Ray Pettus,
Bobby Warren, Jessie Wetherington and Jimmy Wilks. Services are
under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman,
Oklahoma.
Mr. Raney was born August 27, 1932 in Lindsay, Oklahoma,
to Bud and Halley Esther Stinnett Raney. He grew up in the Lindsay,
Oklahoma area. He served twenty-two years in the U.S. Army
achieving the rank of E-8. Mr. Raney married Mathilde Suss on June
22, 1958. They moved to Norman from Lindsay, Oklahoma in
1972. He worked for York Manufacturing in the fabrication
department for twenty-two years. Mr. Raney also worked a short time
for Norman Public Schools. He was a member of the Norman
Masonic Lodge, the Norman York Rite Bodies, the Norman
Commandery, and the Elks Lodge in Lindsay He was also a member
of the Alameda Baptist Church in Norman.
Mr. Raney was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors
include his wife, Hilde of the home; one daughter, Julie Beck and
husband, Randy of Norman, OK; one sister, Brenda Slay of Lindsay,
OK; three brothers, Floyd Raney and wife, Peggy of Maysville, OK,
Buddy Raney and wife, Helen of Norman, OK and Roy Raney of
Noble, OK; four granchildren, Randi, Robyn, Lake and Ryan Beck;
a number of nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Robby Lynn Stott
Robby Lynn Stott, 73, of Purcell, Oklahoma died January
4, 2003 in Norman. Mr. Stott was born April 3, 1929 in Wichita
Falls, Texas to Joseph and Grace Dudley Stott. He served in the
U.S. Navy from September of 1945 until September of 1949 in
Aviation Ordinance. He married Alma Marie Sneddon on
November 27, 1950 in Yuma, Arizona. Robby worked in sales
for Arden Engineering for ten years. He came to Oklahoma
from Temecula, California. He lived in Goldsby, Oklahoma five
years prior to moving to Purcell in October of 2002.
Mr. Stott was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers
and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Alma of the home;
three daughters, Kathleen Hairston and husband, Jim of Alta
Loma, California, Carolyn Holmes and husband, Tracy of
Purcell, Oklahoma and Connie Stott of Temecula, California;
two sister, Jonell Powell and husband, Lloyd of Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma and Wanda Jo Chappa of Texas; three grandchildren,
Clinton Hairston, Jacob Hairston and Jennifer Plum and two
great-grandchildren James Plum and Julianna Plum.
Ronald Lee Wright
Ronald Lee Wright, 63, of Norman, Oklahoma, died
Wednesday, January 1, 2003, in Norman, Oklahoma. Funeral
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 6, 2003 at
Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel in Norman with Chaplain Harry
Smith officiating. Interment
will follow at the Blanchard Cemetery
in Blanchard, Oklahoma with full military honors. Pallbearers will
be Kevin Davis, Ray Richardson, Jerry Wright, Doug Wright II, Doug
Wright and Doug Scroggins. Services are under the direction of
Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Mr. Wright was born March 3, 1939 in Cole, Oklahoma, to
Jesse Harmon and Ellie Francis Wright. He grew up in the Cole area
of Oklahoma and in Fremont, California. He joined the U.S. Air
Force in March, 1956 and served twenty years, retiring as a master
sergeant. Mr. Wright then worked for O.G.& E for eighteen years. He
married Alcenia R. Simon on July 8, 1961. He also worked for the
University of Oklahoma Continued Education Program. Mr. Wright
moved to Norman in June, 1984 from Oklahoma City, OK. He loved
to fish and garden.
Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his parents and three
brothers. Survivors include his wife, Alcenia of the home; two sons,
Doug Wright and wife, Mary of Stonewall, OK and Jerry Wright of
Oklahoma City; two daughters, Suzanne Davis and husband, Kevin
of Oklahoma City, OK and Annette Richardson and husband, Ray of
Lawton, OK; one brother, Tim Wright and wife, Teresa of Moore,
OK; eight grandchildren, Sabrina Scroggins, Samantha Wright,
Schandi Kaste, Doug Wright II, Tabatha Wright, Brandon Wright,
Scherri Kaste and Peyton Richardson; and three great-grandchildren,
Kierstin Scroggins, Kaitlin Scroggins and Blane Scroggins.

Mary Theresa Emerson, 69, ofWaukomis,
Oklahoma, formerly of Norman, died Monday,
December 9,2002 in Norman, Oklahoma. Funeral

Mrs. Emerson was born October 11, 1933 in Gibsonburg,
Ohio, to Gerald and Clara Baur Voorhees. She grew up in
Gibsonburg, Ohio and graduated from Gibsonburg High School.
She moved to Norman in 1972 from Germany where she had
resided for a number of years. She was a retired florist and clerk.
Mrs Emerson was a member of the Four Square Full Gospel
Church, Shekinah Fellowship Church in Moore, Oklahoma. She
loved reading, crocheting and solving crossword puzzles.
Mrs. Emerson was preceded in death by her parents,
husband, Raymond, one son; two daughters, four brothers and
three sisters. Survivors include one son, Fred Emerson and wife,
Julie of Tampa, FL; four daughters, Linda Cobb of Noble, OK,
Lori Daffern and husband, Doyle of Mt. Pleasant, TX, Teresa
Capps and husband, Joe of Kingston, TN and Debra Emerson of
Norman, OK; three sisters, Alice Cavin and husband, Bill of Bella
Vista, AR, Iva Carr of Fremont, OH and Betty Henson of Cody,
WY; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
I.E. (Tom) Siegenthaler
I.E. (Tom) Siegenthaler was born May 3, 1927 in Boynton, Oklahoma, the third of four children of Irvin E. Siegenthaler and Florence L White-Siegenthaler. He departed this earth to be with his Savoir October 8, 2003. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th, 10:00am at Mcfarlin Memorial United Methodist Church in Norman. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 11th at 11:00am at McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church. Interment
at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Mulhall, Oklahoma at 3:30pm. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Tom was awarded his high school diploma from Wainwright High School with military credits earned in the navy. He served in the U.S. Navy amphibious group from 1944-46. Tom received his bachelor's degree in agriculture education from Oklahoma A&M in January 1949. He married Grace M. Taylor on May 27, 1949. Tom went on to teach vocational agriculture at the Labette County Community High School in Altamont, Kansas from 1950-1955. He was awarded a M.S. degree in agriculture education and agronomy in August 1954 from Oklahoma State University.
In December 1955 he joined the Oklahoma State University-Ethiopia contract program. Tom taught plant science and conducted coffee research experiments at the Jimma Agriculture Technical School in Jimma, Ethiopia until 1963. He completed an EdD degree in 1965, then went on to serve as Dean of Vocational Adult Education at New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, New Mexico. Tom then went on to be a private consultant for Manpower Development to the Deputy Minister of Agriculture in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Tom and Grace then returned to Norman where they owned and operated Tom's Meat Market until they retired in 1992.
Tom maintained an interest in education and served on the articulation committee to help plan Oklahoma's school-to-work program and also served on the oversight committee for technical higher education. He was actively involved with the "Heritage at Risk" program supporting the building of The Oklahoma Museum of Natural History.
Since retiring in 1992, Tom has served as a volunteer at the Norman Regional Hospital where he also was past President of the auxiliary. He was also on the building committee that planned, developed and built the Hospitality House at the hospital. Tom was a member of McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church serving as a member to the advisory group for the older adult ministry. He served the Norman Chamber of Commerce as an ambassador, on the board of full circle day care, Friends of Museum and Rotary Club.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Mae Taylor Siegenthaler; three sons, George of Morrison, Colorado, Tom of Arlington, Texas and David of Richmond, Virginia; one brother, James S. Siegenthaler; two sisters, Nina Hager and Lois Allen, all from Muskogee, Oklahoma; and four grandchildren, Tad Siegenthaler, Kim Brush, Kaylee and Rylan Siegenthaler.
Tom not only touched people's lives, he became part of their lives with his love, humor, sense of self-respect, concern, and of his most too short time on this earth. He will be missed, but most importantly he will be remembered through other people's actions.

Paul Dwight Black
Paul Dwight Black, 50, of Norman, Oklahoma died Saturday, December 2, 2006, in a plane crash
in Norman. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 5, 2006, at the Havenbrook
Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Bumgarner officiating. Services are under the direction of

Paul was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on February 8, 1956, to Mary Ward Black and Eugene "Gene"
Black. His family moved to Norman in 1968, when Paul was 12. He attended West Mid-High, Norman High
School, graduating in 1974, and the University of Oklahoma, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Electrical
Engineering in 1978.
He married Peggy Ann Tubbs on January 7, 1978, and they were life partners in a variety of projects,
including building a log home near Norman along with the help of many friends and family members. They
had two sons, Aaron Anthony Black, of New York City, born in 1979, and Michael Christopher Black, of
Wichita, Kansas, born in 1982.
Paul loved his family and family gatherings above all else. His family includes his sister, Rev. Julia
Price of Wenatchee, Washington and her husband Barry, daughter Mary, and son Roger; brother Grant
Black of Broken Arrow and his wife, Diane, son Garrett, and daughter Jennifer; and brother Glen Black of
Norman and his wife, Shari. He also had a sister, Mary Elizabeth, who died in infancy. Paul is survived by
many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Paul loved his in-laws as his own family. This second family include his mother-in-law, Melba Lloyd
and her husband, John; sister-in-law Susan Battershell of Chickasha and her husband, Jerry, son Brian
Battershell and his wife Misti and children Brayden and Bailey, and daughter Jana DuBord and her husband
Ryan, daughter Lexi and soon-to-be-born son; sister-in-law Marilyn Phillips and her husband, Terry, and sons
Kelly, Ryan, and Sean Teeples, and Jake Meckley; brother-in-law Arlie Tubbs and his wife, Linda, daughter
Mary Daniels and her husband Grant, daughter Samantha Stephens and son Cory; and son John Tubbs and
his wife Sheina and daughter Trinity and son Tyler; brother-in-law Charles Tubbs and his wife April, and
daughter Lauren and sons Cameron and Colby; and sister-in-law Nancy Peterson and her husband, Randy,
son Connor, and daughter Nicki. He was particularly close to his father-in-law, A.L. Tubbs, who died in 1995.
Paul worked as an electrical engineer and engineering manager with a variety of companies,
beginning with Boeing, Wichita, from 1978 to 1979. In the Norman and Oklahoma City area he worked for
TOTCO, Tinker AFB, SEMCO, Hitachi, Burford Corporation, and DME. He was presently employed with
METI, a contracting agency based at the FAA in Oklahoma City.
Paul always loved working on home projects, from rebuilding Triumph sports cars and radio
controlled airplanes to more recently helping to build and upholster his friends’ home built airplanes. He was
elated about returning to flying in small airplanes and took advantage of his friends’ offers to fly along at any
opportunity.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Norman Public School

Elba Eillene Thomas
Elba Eillene Thomas, 84, of Deer Park, Washington, formerly of Norman, died Saturday,
April 29, 2006, at home. Visitation will be held between Noon and 9:00 P.M., on Tuesday, May 9,
2006, at Havenbrook Funeral Home, family will be available to greet visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at Havenbrook Funeral
Home Chapel with Dr. Lavonn Brown officiating. Interment

Mrs. Thomas was born April 2, 1922, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Raymond and Ethel Elba
(Rouse) Snyder. She married Walter Aaron Thomas on October 6, 1944. Mrs. Thomas was a loving
wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Survivors include her
daughter, Lynne Thomas McCalip, of Deer Park, WA; two sons, David Michael Thomas, of
Littleton, CO and Timothy Shane Thomas, of Noble, OK; brother, Robert Snyder; and grandchildren,
Alicia and Aaron.
Agnes Vivian Strickland Lyon
Agnes Vivian Strickland Lyon, 94, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Monday, May 1, 2006, at Norman
Regional Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 5, 2006, at Bethel
Baptist Church in Norman with Reverend James Ehrlich officiating. Interment
will follow at the
Resthaven Memorial Garden Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Darrell
Chambless, Kevin Chambless, Nicholas Gentry, Frank Gentry, Keith Lyon and Taylor Lyon.
Honorary bearers will be Dusty Chambless, Larry Shaver and Bill Taylor. Services are under the
direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Aggie was born June 8, 1911, in Cordell, Oklahoma, to T.G. and Eura Strickland.. She grew up and
attended school in Cordell. She married G. B. (Bud) Lyon on August 28, 1927, in Rocky, Oklahoma.
They had two children, Jimmie Phyllis and Danny Lee Lyon. They moved to Norman from Cordell
in 1952. Aggie worked as a Deputy County Treasurer for thirty years until her retirement. She was
a member of Trinity Baptist Church for many years and served as Director of the Jr. Children’s
department for thirty years. She then served as teacher to the senior ladies class for a number of
years. Aggie also served as the nursing home devotional leader for fifteen years. She was a Church
Hostess of the Norman Tabernacle Choir, and was active in Bible School, the Red Cross, the RSVP
and AARP. She was currently a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Aggie devoted her life to serving
the Lord and loved and lived life to the fullest. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great
grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Aggie enjoyed a number of hobbies including gardening, ceramics, traveling, and dancing. Aggie
loved walking and dancing with her dearest friend, Oliver Kennedy.
Survivors include her son, Danny Lee Lyon and wife, Tajwana, of Norman, OK; son-in-law, H.T.
(Dusty) Chambless, of Midwest City, OK; three grandsons, Keith Lyon, of Norman, Darrell
Chambless, of Midwest City, OK, and Kevin Chambless, and wife, Barbara, of Tuttle, OK; three
granddaughters, Cheryl Taylor and husband, Bill, of Del City, OK, Judy Shaver and husband, Larry,
of Norman, and Carol Gentry and husband, Frank, of Oklahoma City, OK; five great-grandchildren,
Taylor Lyon, of Norman, Nicholas Gentry, of Del City and Nicole Gentry, of Oklahoma City. Cassie
and Audra Chambless, of Tuttle, OK; great-great-granddaughter, Kylee Gentry, of Del City, OK;
brother, Bob, Strickland, of Fort Worth, TX.
Aggie was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; parents, T.G. and Eura; daughter, Jimmie Phyllis
Lyon Chambless; two great-grandsons, Ryan and Brad Chambless; two brothers, Fred and Paul; five
sisters, Edith, Rowena, Tootsie, Aubrey and Audrey; and dear friend, Oliver Kennedy.
