Gordon E. Cowin
Gordon E. Cowin, 43, 8129 SR 38E, Dayton, died at 3:03 a.m. Feb. 2, 2000, in Lafayette from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mr. Cowin worked at Wabash National, Lafayette, and was a former Frankfort resident.
He was born March 23, 1956, in Frankfort, to Arthur F. and Ruth I. Sheets Cowin.
Funeral services will be private. Miller-Weston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and services.
Wyman F. Kinderman
Wyman F. Kinderman, 74, 411 Hemlock Drive, died at 2:05 p.m. Feb. 5, 2000, at his home following an extended illness.
Mr. Kinderman was a retired truck salesman, and had worked for Diamond Reo, Kenworth of Indianapolis and Peterbilt of Indianapolis. He lived in Cayuga until moving to Frankfort in 1939. He moved to Colfax in 1978 and to Boca Raton, Fla., in 1987. He returned to Frankfort in October 1999.
He attended Frankfort High School, and was a member of Indianapolis Moose Lodge.
He was born Aug. 13, 1925, in Danville, Ill., to Clarence and Iva Miller Kinderman. He married Virginia Wilson in Jefferson on Feb. 20, 1949, and she survives.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Goodwin Funeral Home, with the Rev. Scott Ellison officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Roscoe W. King
Roscoe W. King, 85, 1452 E. Ohio St., died unexpectedly at 6:45 a.m. Feb. 4, 2000, in Mesa, Ariz.
Mr. King was a lifelong Clinton County resident, and had lived in Kirklin before moving to Frankfort in 1978. He retired from the Indiana State Highway Department that year, then did maintenance work for the Clinton County 4-H Fairgrounds for seven years.
He was a 1933 graduate of Sugar Creek High School, and a member of Kirklin Christian Church. He was a 54-year member of the Masonic Lodge, and past master of both Pickard Lodge 690 and the Kirklin lodge. He also was a member of the Frankfort Eagles Lodge.
He was born May 17, 1914, in Clinton County, to Virgil M. and Jesse Walker King. He married Anna Mae Walker on Sept. 23, 1939, and she survives.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Goodwin Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gary Finley officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Kirklin. Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, with memorial services by the Kirklin lodge at 7.

Renee Marie West
Renee Marie West, 42, Peru, died at 3:25 a.m. Feb. 6, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. West was a homemaker, and was a guest speaker at different churches and gospel groups. She was a 1975 graduate of Bellflower High School in Bellflower, Calif. She was a member of River of Life Ministries, Kokomo, and Emmaus Community. She also was co-founder of New Beginnings Ministries and Harvesters for Christ.
She was born June 7, 1957, in Long Beach, Calif., to Bud and Shirley Chapman Buxton. She married Pastor Michael C. West on Aug. 13, 1988, and he survives.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pipe Creek Church of the Brethren on county roads 450 West and 400 South, Peru, with her husband and the Rev. Les Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Springdale Cemetery near Bunker Hill. Calling hours are 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Stout & Son Funeral Home, Russiaville, is in charge of arrangements.

Norma Jane Johnston
Norma Jane Johnston, 66, 9127 E. CR 600N, Forest, died at 8:01 a.m. Feb. 5, 2000, at St. Joseph Hospital and Health Center, Kokomo.
Mrs. Johnston worked 34 years at Mallory Controls and retired in March 1999. She was a 1951 graduate of Forest Township High School, and a member of Forest Baptist Church.
She was born Aug. 5, 1933, in Howard County, to Albert Allen and Gladys Mae Vanmeter Scott. She married James A. Johnston on Dec. 2, 1989, and he survives.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stout & Son Funeral Home, Russiaville, with the Rev. Joel Blanton officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery near Forest. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today.

William Seymour Heath
William Seymour Heath, 86, Lebanon, died at 1:50 a.m. Feb. 6, 2000, at Witham Memorial Hospital there.
Mr. Heath was a social studies and health/safety teacher, and was assistant principal of Lebanon Junior High School. He taught four years at Pinnell and 40 years in Lebanon, and coached baseball and basketball for 20 years. He retired in 1980.
He was a 1931 graduate of Advance High School. He earned his bachelor's degree from Wabash College in 1936, and his master's degree from Butler University in 1945. He had lived in Lebanon since 1940, where he was a baseball pitcher in the semi-pro league and for the Lebanon Merchant team. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was born Jan. 28, 1914, in Napoleon, to Dr. Eugene Earl and Mary Olive Seymour Heath. He married Nellie Marie "Tillie" Rohn in Indianapolis on Aug. 10, 1940, and she died March 31, 1997.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Elks Lodge and American Legion, all in Lebanon. He also was a member of the Boone County and Indiana State retired teachers associations, state and national Retired Officers Association, and Disabled American Veterans. He also was a member of Jamestown Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Myers Mortuary, Lebanon, with the Rev. Fred Tanselle and the Rev. Raymond Duff officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lebanon. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Edna Rusk
Edna Rusk, 94, Albuquerque, N.M., died Feb. 4, 2000, there.
Mrs. Rusk had lived many years in the Clarks Hill area and in Colorado Springs, Colo., before moving to Albuquerque.
She was a former member of Clarks Hill Christian Church.
She was born Jan. 3, 1906, in Kansas Station, Ill., to James and Emma Harris Walker. She married Ray L. Rusk in Danville, Ill., in March 1923, and he died in August 1970.
Burial will be in Colorado Springs. Miller-Weston Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Robert 'Bob' Scott
Robert 'Bob' Scott, 83, Camden, died at 11:05 a.m. Feb. 10, 2000, at St. Elizabeth Health Care, Delphi.
Mr. Scott was custodian at Delphi High School for 15 years, retiring in 1986. He was also a retired farmer, having farmer in Clinton, Carroll, and Tipton counties.
He was a member of the Delphi Christian Church, where he was a former Elder and Sunday School teacher. He was also a former member of the Carroll Farm Bureau, and was a member of the board of directors for Tipwa Grange at Pittsburg.
He was born Oct. 12, 1916, in Clinton County, to Oliver Berton Scott and Ethel Reed Scott. He married Juanita M. Reed Scott on Feb. 3, 1938, in Boone County, and she survives.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Delphi Christian Church with Pastor Andrew Paris officiating. Burial will follow at Scott Cemetery, Scircleville. Friends may call at from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Horn-Davidson Funeral Home and one hour prior to service at the church. Vernon L. Martin
Vernon L. Martin, 54, Edna Mills, died at 9:47 p.m. Feb. 10, 2000, in the emergency room of Home Hospital, Lafayette.
Mr. Martin was a truck driver for Kaiser & Kaiser for the past nine years. He worked for Godard's Plumbing & Heating for six years.
He was a member of the Lafayette Moose Lodge #796. He lived in Edna Mills for the past 21 years. He lived in Lafayette early in his life.
He was born June 24, 1945, in Lafayette, to Donald Tolen and Mary Jane Gechenour. Gechenour later married Albert Martin, who raised Mr. Martin. He married Carol Ann Price on April 17, 1973, and she survives.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Bodine Funeral Home, Rossville, Pastor Larry Wood officiating. Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brookston. Peggy Joyce Lambert
Peggy Joyce Lambert, 69, Marion, died at 5 a.m. Feb. 12, 2000, at Wesleyan Health Care Center there.
Mrs. Lambert was a homemaker. Formerly of Frankfort, she lived in Marion 28 years. She was a 1949 Frankfort High School graduate.
She was born Jan. 27, 1931, in Frankfort, to Leroy A. and Cleo J. Leslie Malicoat. She married Kent Lambert on June 3, 1972, and he survives.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Marion Chapel.

Marjorie L. Miller Emans
Marjorie L. Miller Emans, 72, Indianapolis, died at 7:09 p.m. Feb. 11, 2000, at St. Vincent Hospital there following a brief illness.
Mrs. Emans was a receptionist and dispatcher for a travel company. She had lived many years in Columbus, Ohio, before moving to Indianapolis a year ago.
She was born Feb. 10, 1928, in Ohio.
Private family services were conducted. A.R.N. Cremation Services was in charge of arrangements.
Mary Blanche Emmert
Mary Blanche Emmert, 72, Lebanon, died at 2:53 p.m. Feb. 13, 2000, at Witham Hospital there.
Mrs. Emmert worked at Winkler's and was a secretary for Adler's. She was a 1945 graduate of Jackson Township School in Clinton County. She was a member of Central Christian Church and Lebanon Order of Eastern Star.
She was born Nov. 30, 1927, in Boone County, to Glen and Corenn Johnson Reagan. She married Thomas E. Emmert in Mechanicsburg on Feb. 14, 1951, and he survives.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Russell & Hitch Funeral Home, Lebanon, with the Rev. Raymond Duff officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens, Boone County. Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. today, with Eastern Star services at 5.

James O. Pogue
James O. Pogue, 88, formerly of 851 N. Clay St., died at 12:55 p.m. Feb. 14, 2000, at Wesley Manor Health Care Center after a three-month illness. He had lived at the manor since August 1996.
Mr. Pogue was the owner of Pogue Electric Co., and retired in 1978. He was a 1930 Frankfort High School graduate and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving during D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge.
He was a member of the Frankfort Elks Lodge and life member of the Frankfort Moose Lodge. He also was a past member and president of Frankfort Optimists Club.
He was born March 23, 1911, in Frankfort, to Oliver Lee and Mary Entrekin Pogue. He married Martha J. Orr in Washington on July 28, 1947, and she died Dec. 27, 1995.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the manor's Amanda Reid Chapel, with the Rev. Gary Allan officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to services.

Elma "Rosie" "Granny" Rice
Elma "Rosie" "Granny" Rice, 84, West Middleton, died at 10:58 a.m. Feb. 13, 2000, at SCCI Hospital, Kokomo.
Mrs. Rice worked at Delco Electronics from 1947-60. She then worked at T-Wat Dry Cleaners, and was an Avon representative from 1965-78.
She was a 1933 graduate of West Middleton High School, and attended one year at Purdue University. She was a former member of the Harrison Township Home Economics Club.
She was born March 6, 1915, in Howard County, to Frank and Rachel Butler Johnson. She married Don M. Rice on Feb. 2, 1957, and he died Aug. 3, 1988.

Ada Nolen Smith
Ada Nolen Smith, 98, Glasgow, Ky., died Feb. 14, 2000, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital there.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of Dover Baptist Church in Haywood, Ky.
She was born in Allen County, Ky., to William and Lula Hargus Bridges. She married Gilbert Ayers Smith, and he preceded her in death.
