Marjorie K. Pulley
Marjorie K. Pulley, 74, 531 S. Meadow Lane, died at 8:02 p.m. March 5, 2000, at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital after a six-month illness.
Mrs. Pulley was a farm wife and homemaker. She was a secretary for three years for Herman Colby at Farm Bureau Insurance before her marriage.
She was a 1942 graduate of Jackson Township High School and attended two years at Indiana Business College, Indianapolis. She was a member of Antioch Congregational Christian Church and Jackson Township Home Economics Club, and was a Clinton County Fair volunteer.
She was born July 13, 1925, in Boone County, to Wilbur G. and Edna M. Wrinkle Walker. She married Wilbur L. Pulley on Feb. 15, 1948, and he survives.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Goodwin Funeral Home, with Pastor Shan Sheridan officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Park.
Olive L. Roth
Olive L. Roth, 81, Rossville, died at 1:50 p.m. March 6, 2000, at Home Hospital, Lafayette after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Roth worked 37 years for Kresge and Kmart department stores, and retired in 1987. Formerly of the Cutler area, she had lived in Rossville since 1939. She was a 1936 graduate of Cutler High School, and a member of Rossville United Methodist Church.
She was born May 2, 1918, in Cutler, to Cleo and Mary Biesecker Davis. She married Henry S. Roth on Oct. 30, 1937, and he died Jan. 23, 1972.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bodine Funeral Home, Rossville, with Dr. Fred Page officiating. Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Francis R. Wallace Jr.
Francis R. Wallace Jr., 65, Attica, died at 6 a.m. March 4, 2000, from injuries sustained in a two-car accident on U.S. 41, south of Attica.
Mr. Wallace was a foreman for the Indiana Department of Transportation in the Fowler District for 23 years, and retired in 1999. He had previously worked several years at Harrison Steel Castings Co.
He attended school in Glasgow, Ky., and later attended drafting classes in Louisville, Ky. He had lived in Attica since 1967.
He served in the Army National Guard in Kentucky, and attended a Baptist church there. He was a member of Attica Eagles Lodge 2596.
He was born Sept. 30, 1934, in Buchanan, Mich., to Francis Rozelle and Fannie Crews Wallace. He married Ramona "Mona" Knowles in Frankfort, on Oct. 19, 1974, and she survives.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with Pastor Neil Jefferies officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today.

Linda Lou Douglass
Linda Lou Douglass, 50, Thorntown, died at 4 a.m. March 7, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. Douglass had worked at Ulen Country Club, Adler's and Paul Harris. She attended Thorntown High School, and was a member of Colfax American Legion Auxiliary.
She was born March 19, 1949, in Lebanon, to Marvin Gene and Maxine Fearrin Toney. She married David Dale in Darlington in 1965, and they divorced. She married John Douglass in Thorntown, and they divorced.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Russell & Hitch Funeral Home, Thorntown, with the Rev. Bud Moody officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Thorntown. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
Elizabeth B. (Betty) Franklin
Elizabeth B. "Betty" Franklin, 94, Culver City, Calif., died at 10:17 a.m. March 2, 2000, at Vencor Hospital in Los Angeles.
Mrs. Franklin had lived in Kokomo until moving to California in 1993. She was an elementary schoolteacher for 33 years and retired in 1970 from Kokomo schools. She previously taught two years in Ohio, 10 in Logansport, 16 in Kokomo, two years at the Neighborhood House Kindergarten and three years at Main Street United Methodist Church Kindergarten.
She was a Boxley High School graduate. She earned her teaching certificate from Ball State Teachers' College and her bachelor's degree from Northwestern University. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Kokomo, and active as a Sunday school teacher and member of UMW. She was a member Alpha Delta Kappa teachers' sorority, and the American Association of University Women.
She was born June 25, 1905, in Wolcottville, to George W. and Fannie E. Mink Bailor. She married Charles William "Bill" Franklin on June 9, 1937, and he died Feb. 27, 1993.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, 830 S. Main St., Kokomo, with the Rev. David Herr and the Rev. James MacDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Mounds Cemetery in northwestern Howard County. Gladys P. Davis
Gladys P. Davis, 84, Sheridan, died at 6:30 a.m. March 8, 2000, at River Walk Village in Noblesville.
Mrs. Davis was a homemaker and member of Pilgrim Holiness Church.
She was born Feb. 16, 1916, in Fleming County, Ky., to Edward and Mary Pitts Bate. She married R.G. Davis in Greensburg on June 25, 1936, and he preceded her in death.

Martha J. Nicholls
Martha J. Nicholls, 88, Kokomo, died at 11:47 p.m. March 7, 2000, at St. Joseph Hospital and Health Center there.
Mrs. Nicholls was a homemaker. She was a 1929 graduate of Losantville High School.
She was born July 29, 1911, in Randolph County, to Ray B. and Flossie Rawlings Lindsey. She married Ted L. Nicholls on Sept. 11, 1938, and he died July 20, 1997.

Carl E. Patrick
Carl E. Patrick, 69, Quincy, died March 8, 2000, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.
Mr. Patrick was a farmer. He was a graduate of Eminence High School and Purdue University School of Agriculture. He was a member of Amity Baptist Church, Cloverdale.
He also was a member of the Morgan County Fair Board, Ashland Township Advisory Board, Weekday Religious Education Board, Morgan County Soil & Water Conservation Board, Purdue Hoof & Horn Club, and Purdue's Farm House Fraternity.
He also was a member and past master of Eminence Masonic Lodge 440 F&AM and Eminence Order of Eastern Star Chapter 546, and Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite. He also served as trustee of Mannan Cemetery, Cloverdale.
He was born Sept. 29, 1930, in Morgan County, to Oscar and Marjorie Lee Coffman Patrick. He married Irene Culbertson of Jackson Township, Clinton County, on Jan. 23, 1955, and she survives.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with the Rev. John Nees and the Rev. D. Robert Nees officiating. Burial will follow at Mannan Cemetery. Calling hours are 5-8 p.m. Friday, with Masonic services at 7:30.
Richard James Badger
Richard James Badger, 76, formerly of 1610 E. Washington St., died at 8:20 p.m. March 5, 2000, at Wesley Manor Health Care Center.
Mr. Badger was employed by F.W. Woolworth Inc., and managed several stores, including the Frankfort store, until his retirement.
He was a 1941 graduate of Anderson High School and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He served in the 167th Infantry Regiment, 31st Division, in New Guinea and the South Philippines liberation campaigns. He received the American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, the Bronze Arrowhead, the Philippines Liberation Ribbon, the Distinguished Unit Badge and the WWII Victory Medal.
He was a member of Frankfort V.F.W. Post 1110, and St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was a member of St. Mary's Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Council 5294 and a past council Grand Knight.
He was born April 2, 1923, in Terre Haute, to Frank and Marie Murphy Badger, and was reared by his stepfather, George O. Hill. He married Margaret "Peggy" Loftus in Chicago on Sept. 24, 1949, and she died July 13, 1999.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, with Father Gerald J. Borawski officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery. Mary C. Morgan
Mary C. Morgan, 80, 3185 S. CR 450W, Frankfort, died at 6:45 a.m. March 12, 2000, at Home Hospital, Lafayette, after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Morgan was a homemaker and member of East Washington Street Church of Christ. She had lived in Clinton County 48 years.
She was born June 30, 1919, in Cumberland County, Ky., to Ellis and Lilly Humes Cary. She married Rollin F. Morgan on Nov. 21, 1937, and he died May 1, 1993.

Violet Lucille Randle
Violet Lucille Randle, 82, Lebanon, died at 6:35 p.m. March 9, 2000, at Essex Manor Nursing home there.
Mrs. Randle was a farm wife. She grew up and attended school in Hendricks County, and was a 1936 graduate of Pittsboro High School. After her marriage, she lived for brief periods in Hamilton County and Indianapolis, and south of Lebanon since 1944.
She was a member of New Brunswick Church of Christ, Boone County, and taught junior high Sunday school class there for 30 years.
She was born Feb. 27, 1918, in Hendricks County, to Asa and Alice Goodwin Scott. She married Lawrence N. Randle in Clermont on Aug. 27, 1938, and he survives.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church, south of Lebanon, with evangelist David Frye officiating. Burial will follow at Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Lizton. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Myers Mortuary, Lebanon.

Robert E. Ortman
Robert E. Ortman, 79, Kokomo, died at 5:45 p.m. March 12, 2000, at Windsor Estates Health and Rehab Center there.
Mr. Ortman was a farmer. He also was co-founder and president of Kokomo Grain, and former co-owner of Star City Elevator.
He was a 1937 graduate of Clay Township High School and 1941 graduate of Purdue University. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Kokomo Kiwanis. He also served as a county councilman from 1968-72.
He was born Aug. 13, 1920, in Clay Township, Howard County, to John B. and Josephine Kerby Ortman. He married Eva Jane Payne in Kokomo on Oct. 8, 1941, and she survives.

John A. DeLaCroix
John A. DeLaCroix, 86, 2749 E. Wabash St., died March 10, 2000, at his home following a brief illness.
Mr. DeLaCroix worked as an Indiana Internal Revenue Service auditor from 1963-84. He also was a farmer. He had lived in Clinton County since 1956.
He was a 1941 graduate of Purdue University, and a member of Purdue Alumni. He also was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church and Farm Bureau, and was active in Boy Scouting.
He was born Nov. 11, 1913, in Harrison, Ohio, to Clifford J. and Bertie Barber DeLaCroix. He married V. Jane Horne on June 8, 1941, and she died Nov. 14, 1994.

Autumn Sheets
Autumn Sheets, 88, Wesley Manor, died at 3:12 p.m. March 11, 2000, at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital.
Mrs. Sheets worked as a supervisor at Sommer Metalcraft for 40 years. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, and served on its board, its missionary society and as a Sunday school teacher. She also was a member of Wesleyan Methodist Church in Colfax. She attended Monument City High School.
She was born Nov. 16, 1911, in Crawfordsville, to Lawerence and Zola Russell Long. She married John R. Sheets in March 1978, and he survives.

Ruby Katherine Harrell
Ruby Katherine Harrell, 84, 2863 S. U.S. 421, Frankfort, died at 7:45 p.m. March 15, 2000, at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital.
Mrs. Harrell worked 18 years for Unilectric and retired in 1982. She was a member of the Eagles, Moose and American Legion ladies' auxiliaries.
She was born July 1, 1915, in Cambria, to William and Manda Judd Elkins. She married David K. Harrell on Nov. 20, 1948, and he died in 1983.

Arnold A. Burris
Arnold A. Burris, 76, 1411 Wilshire Court, died at 10:50 a.m. March 16, 2000, at ExtendaCare Frankfort following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Burris was a self-employed timber buyer. He also was owner and operator of Mattix Corner Produce Market, and was a contractor for California Packers. He moved to Frankfort from Mill Springs, Ky., 34 years ago.
He was born Sept. 7, 1923, in Wayne County, Ky., to Henry and Neva Carroll Burris. He married Lucille Rust in Otterbein on Sept. 25, 1947, and she survives.

Evaleen May Griffey, 69, Seminole, Fla., died at 1 a.m. March 16, 2000, at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Fla.
Mrs. Griffey was a homemaker. She had previously worked as a bookkeeper at DeLong's Auto Parts, Kokomo, and then as a secretary at Jefferson School in Kokomo.
She was a 1949 graduate of Delphi High School. She was a life member and former national president of Omega Phi Tau Sorority, and a member of Thursday Bridge Club. She moved from Kokomo to Florida in 1975.
She was born Oct. 30, 1930, in Colburn, to Edward L. and Viola Stroup Pearson. She married Darrell Griffey on Nov. 21, 1951, and he survives.

Martha Jean Black
Martha Jean Black, 74, Dayton, Ohio, died at 10:50 p.m. March 16, 2000, at Hospice of Dayton following a sudden illness.
Mrs. Black was a native of Clinton County and formerly attended Whitestown Baptist Church in Whitestown. She worked for General Motors while living in Indiana.
She was born June 1, 1925, in Michigantown, to Chester and Elizabeth DePuckett Williams. She married Joseph G. Black, and he survives.

Opal G. Koontz
Opal G. Koontz, 82, Thorntown, died at 5 p.m. June 24, 2001, in her home.
Mrs. Koontz had worked at Mallory Controls in Frankfort for 13 years. She was a homemaker and helped work the family farm. She was a member of the Sugar Creek Home Economics Club, the Thorntown Methodist Church and was treasurer of its women's organization.
Mrs. Koontz was born Feb. 28, 1919, in Somerset, Ky., to Leonard and Bertha Ann Moore Baugh. She married Joseph A. Koontz in Owensburg on March 8, 1938, and he died Jan. 26, 1994.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Russell & Hitch Funeral Home, Thorntown, with the Rev. Ron Branson officiating. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery. Calling is 3-8 p.m. today.
