Mrs. Florence Steiner Barnes :
A native of Bon Secour, AL a long time resident of Bayou La Batre, living in Irvington for the past 35 years, died on Monday, January 1, 2001 at her residence. Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Mr. Claudine Barnes, and her son, Allen Barnes. She is survived by two daughters, Schelby (Junior) Rice, and Linda (Johnny) Ryan, both of Irvington; her devoted granddaughter and caregiver, Treena White; eleven other grandchildren, twenty great grand children, one great great grandchild, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. from Oddfellows Hall in Bayou La Batre. Visitation will be Tuesday, at the Hall, from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Oddfellows Cemetery. Arrangements by SERENITY FUNERAL HO ME, 8691 Old Pascagoula Rd, Mobile, AL.

Mrs. Elizabeth D. Gunnin :
A native of Bessemer, AL and a resident of Mobile since 1952 died on Friday, December 29, 2000 at the family residence in Richmond, VA. Mrs. Gunnin was a past resident of Gordon Oaks Independent Living Facility. Her husband, Elton M. Gunnin and her daughter, Carol Ann Allen, preceded her in death. She is survived by one son, Larry (Sherry) Gunnin of Chester, VA; one sister, Louise Stephens of Hueytown, AL; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Thursday, January 4, 2001 at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 3, 2001 from 5-8 PM. Mrs. Anna Pearl Summerlin Hebert:
83, a lifelong resident of Theodore, died Friday, December 29, 2000 at a local hospital. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 02, 2001 from 10:30 until 1:30 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Magnolia Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. James Sullins officiating. Mrs. Voncile Trawick Kidd :
Age 88, a native of Evergreen, Alabama, and a resident of Whistler, Alabama, died on Sunday, December 31, 2000 at her residence. ``Billy'' Milton Bartley Middleton :
A native of Mobile, a resident of Chickasaw, a retired employee of Alabama Power Company, and a member of First Baptist North Mobile, died at hi s home on Saturday, December 30, 2000 at the age of 66. Survivors include his wife, Joy Richards Middleton; four children, Sandy (Tom) Miller, of Chickasaw, Donna (Ed) Spicknall, of Lusby, MD, Tammy (Tom) Root of Lexington, KY, and his son Bart (Lainey) Middleton, of Saraland, and seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2001 at Radney Funeral Home at 11:00 a .m. followed by the burial at Mobile Memorial Garden s. Memorials may be made to First Baptist North Mobile Building Fund, 1251 Indus trial Parkway, Saraland, AL 36571.

Ms. Susanne Nance:
Age 59, a native of Sylvester, GA. A resident of Mobile, AL, died Saturday, December 30, 2000 in a local hospital. She was a graduate of Sylvester High School and Auburn University. Ms. Nance is survived by an aunt, Virginia Lindler-Sylvester, GA. And many dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2001 at 10AM from the chapel of Wolfe Funeral Home with Rev. J. Lamar Brown officiating. Visitation will be held from 9AM until time of service. Mrs. Carrie Lord Morris:
A native of Baldwin County, AL and a resident of Mobile for the past 17 years passed away at a local nursing home on Sunday, December 31, 2000. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Burl Morris, Sr., granddaughter, Cathy Jane Morris. She is survived by her daughter, Eunice (Harvey) Smith and son, Burl (Shirley) Morris, Jr., both of Mobile, AL. Grandchildren, Becky Dunn, Michael Morris, Mitch Morris, Cindy Jorgensen, and Steven Burl Morris. Nine great-grandchildren a nd five great great grandchildren. Brother, Percy A. Lord of Texas. Jeremiah Brady, Celebrant and Rev. Vernon Hughley, Con-Celebrant, on Tuesday, January 2, 2001, at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Rosary will be said prior to the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Lawn Haven Cemetery. Nora Belle Barlow Odom :
Age 87, a native of Gregville, AL and a long time resident of Theodore, died on Saturday, December 30, 2000 at a local hospital. She was a homemaker. She is survived by two sons, Lloyd (Sharon) Odom, of Mobile, and Hal Jerry Odom, of Houston, TX; four sisters, Gertie Robinson, OR, Pearley (Clayton) Stewart, of Jay, FL, Ola Mae Penton, of Milton, FL, and Ethel Enfinger, of Milton, FL; two brothers, John Barlow, of Pace, FL, a nd Albert Barlow, of Pensacola, FL; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 2, 2001 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2001 at 12:00 from the Serenity Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Ruth Reeves:
A native of Bladen Springs, AL, born November 9, 1912. She was a resident of Mobile, AL for over fifty years. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kohnes. M rs. Reeves passed at a local hospital on Thursday, December 28, 2000. Mrs. Reeves was a faithful and long time member of The Saint Joseph Baptist Church, Mobile, AL She was a member of The Choir, Missionary Department, Deaconess Board, and a member of the National Baptist Convention. She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Deborah (James) Cook, and Marilyn (Perry) Ezell, Jr., Tuscaloosa, AL. A devoted nephew, Marcus Lacey; two devote d nieces, Mrs. Bessie (Dollar) Boykin, and Mrs. Lorraine Lacey. A devoted great niece, Willa (Henry) Crawford. A sister, Mrs. Leola McSwain, Mississippi. Several devoted friends, Sis. Edith George, Sis. Alice Rodgers. A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2001 from 9AM until the 11AM funeral hour from the St. Joseph Baptist Church, 661 S. Broad St. with Rev. Mr. Marvin Otis Sirmon :
Age 79, a native of Baldwin County, and a resident of Robertsdale, AL, died on Sunday, December 31, 2000 in a Baldwin County Health Care Facility. He is survived by his daughter, Judieth Ziglar, of Coden, AL; two brothers, Ben Sirmon, of Robertsdale, AL, and Hilbert Sirmon, also of Robertsdale, AL; three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Mr. Jack Coma ``JC'' Scott, Jr.:
A native of Walker Springs, AL and a resident of Mobile, born November 13, 1932 departed this life on Wednesday, December 27, 2000 at a local hospital . Mr. Scott was a member of Greater Union Baptist Church and a member of the International Longshoreman Association ILA Local #1410 where he retired as a foreman. Georgeane Collier Sellers :
A native of Dauphin Island , Alabama and a resident of Bayou La Batre, Alabama for 81 years died on Sunday, December 31, 2000 at the age of 87. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Bayou La Batre, and a participant of the Bayou La Batre Senior Citizen Program. She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Lee Sellers; sons, Glenn Edward Sellers and Stanton Arlen Sellers, Sr., and devoted sister, Lelia O. Collier. She is survived by her sons, Dale (Susan) Sellers, of Irvington, and Chuck (Debra) Sellers, of Mobile; daughters, Cheryl Sellers (Roy) Smith, of Bayou La Batr e, and Nan Sellers (Tony) Ramos, of Irvington; daughter-in-law, Linda Sellers, of Irvington; brother, Kermit (Cora) Collier, of Dauphin Island; grandchildren, Julie (David) Rice, Jana (Rob) Julian, Stanton (Tara) Sellers, Sondra (Mitch) Kelly, Leigh Mallon, Chaz Sellers, Todd Sellers, and Dane (Brenda) Raley; great grandchildren, Stedman and Chandler Rice, Kirsten, Morgan and Aaron Mallon, Tyler, Connor and Justin Julian, and Brannan and Brittany Raley, endearing neighbors, Elbert and Estelle Bosarge; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Virginia Scott Leak:
Age 79, died Monday, December 25, 2000 at a local health care facility. She was a native of Wetumpka, AL and a resident of Spanish Fort. Mrs. Leak attended Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church and was a member of PEO. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John S. Leak of Spanish Fort; Two grandchildren, Scott Ferrier of Sherman Oaks, CA, Jackie Ferrier of Redlands, CA; Aunt, Nell Hatcher of Hartford, AL and numerous cousins. Mrs. Leak is preceded in death by her daughter, Gayle Leak Ferrier. Visitation will be Thursday from 10-11 AM at Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 4th at 11 AM from Bayview Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Dr. Frederick Widmer. Interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery. Inez Wheaten:
A native of Camden, Alabama and a resident of Mobile for over 80 years. Inez was born October 29, 1900 to Peter and Stately Wheaten. Inez parted this life on Thursday, December 28, 2000. She is survived by one devoted brother, Bennie J. Weeden of Cleveland, Ohio; a devoted niece, Emily Williams of Mobile, Alabama; a devoted great nephew, Claude (Ernice) Delmore of Atmore, Alabama, along with a host of other nieces and nephews, devoted friends, Violet Nixon and Peyton Higgson and family. Visitation will be at 10-11AM Wednesday, January 3, 2001 at Christian Union Baptist Church, 3260 Springhill Ave. Followed by service with the Rev. J.N. Hornbuckle, Pastor and Officiant. Mr. R. Lester White:
Age 89, a native of Newton, Mississippi, long time resident of Union, Mississippi, and current resident of Mobile for the past 10 years, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2000 at a local hospital. Mr. White was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Melba W. White of Mobile. Mr. White is survived by his wife, Dola C. White, of Mobile; one daughter, Gayle (Jim) Ferrill of Mobile; t hree grandchildren, Paul (Sandra) Ferrill, of Lancaster, California, Jill (Troy) Howard, of Birmingham, and Rob (Laine) Ferrill also of Birmingham, AL; sixteen great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 3, 2001 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home.
