GULF SHORES - Joseph Leroy Brumfield died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2000, at his residence. He was 77 years old.
Brumfield was a native of Kentwood, La., and a resident of Gulf Shores.
Survivors include his wife, Carol S. Brumfield of Gulf Shores; two sons, David Brumfield of Collierville, Tenn., and Keith Brumfield of The Woodlands, Texas; two daughters, Deborah Turcotte of Silverhill and Pamela Westerburg of Austin, Texas; a sister, Annie L. Osborne of Diamondhead, Miss.; and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Pine Rest Funeral Home in Foley.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with burial following in Pine Rest Memorial Park. Services will be officiated by the Rev. Phil Wilson.

HENRY HUBBERT CUMBIE
LITTLE RIVER - Henry Hubbert Cumbie, a retired iron worker, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, in Bay Minette. He was 64.
Cumbie, a native of Baldwin County, was a resident of Little River.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Cumbie; three sons, Ricky Cumbie, Mike Cumbie and Terry Cumbie; and a daughter, Wanda Blackburn, all of Little River; a sister, Rosie Lassitter of Cantonment, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services are set for 2 p.m. today at Little River Holiness Church with Bro. Joe Billie Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Mamie Chapel Cemetery in Little River with Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home of Atmore directing.
EDWIN C. SCHUCK
FOLEY - Edwin Charles Schuck, a native of St. Louis and a resident of Foley, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001. He was 86 years old.
Survivors include his wife, Marie A. Schuck of Foley; one daughter, Debra Dianne C. Mickles of Foley; a son, Steven E. Schuck of St. Louis; one brother, John Schuck of Washington, D.C.; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Pine Rest Funeral Home in Foley. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Foley. Burial will follow in Pine Rest Memorial Park.

DANIEL JOHN MAUTE
BAY MINETTE - Daniel John Maute, 68, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000. The Bay Minette resident was a bus driver for Jamaica Bus Line in New York.
He is survived by two sons, Daniel A. Maute of Fairhope and Joseph P. Maute of Bay Minette; a daughter, Diane Fraser of Stanton Island, N.Y.; a brother, John Maute of Stanton Island, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today at St. Agatha Catholic Church in Bay Minette. The Rev. Jim Dane will officiate.
Cremation arrangements are by Norris Funeral Home in Bay Minette.
ALAN M. ARMSTRONG
SPANISH FORT - Alan M. Armstrong, 83, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at a local health care facility. He was a native of Canada and a resident of Spanish Fort.
Armstrong is survived by two sons, Gary Armstrong of Spanish Fort and Alan M. Armstrong of Los Angeles; and two granddaughters, Catherine Armstrong and Meredith Armstrong, both of Spanish Fort.

WENDY D. MARLAR
FOLEY - Wendy Dumeresque Marlar of Woolhope, Herefordshire, England, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at her home following a long battle with pancreatic cancer . She was 67 years old.
Ms. Marlar served as literary critic for the London periodical "Time and Tide." She was the founder of a pioneering recycling company, Active Recovery, in England in the early 1960s and was an avid plantswoman, renowned for her collections of exotic and rare specimens.
Survivors include two sons, Algy Marlar and James Marlar, both of England; four daughters, Kate Marlar, Tammy Marlar, Sarah Marlar Bealey, all of England, and Annajane Marlar of Dallas; a sister, Jill Dumeresque McArthur of Foley; a brother, Michael Dumeresque of Aspen, Colo.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in England at a later date.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Project ORBIS International, a charity that provides opthalmic surgical skills to developing countries.

SILVERHILL - Mary Ramsay, a native of Beaufort County, N.C., and a resident of Silverhill, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at her residence. She was 77 years old.
Survivors include a son, Joseph "Sam" Ramsay of Foley; two brothers, Joseph Stokesberry of Washington, D.C., and Jather Stokesberry of Plymouth, N.C.; two sisters, Margaret Attemchuck of Plymouth, N.C., and Alice Ross of Lansing, Mich.; and two grandsons.
Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale. Graveside services will follow at 11 a.m. at Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile.

FOLEY - Fred A. Thompson of Foley died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at a local health care facility.
Thompson was a native of Barnwell and a member of Barnwell Baptist Church. He was 95 years old.
Survivors include a daughter, Sally A. Glass of Foley; a son, Bobby W. Thompson of Blountsville, Ala.; a brother, Philip Eugene Thompson of New Orleans; six grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
