BELLEVIEW - Caecilie Gentalen, 89, a retired manager for Kanust Brothers Mushroom Inc., died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at Lady Lake Specialty Care Center.
A native of St. Petersburg, Russia, her family fled to Estonia during the Bolshevik Revolution, and later to Germany, where she lived in refugee camps. In 1949, she came to America. She moved here from Catskill, N.Y., in 1982.
Survivors include her sons, Tiit Gentalen, Lady Lake and Tom Gentalen, Athens, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

DUNNELLON - James Owen George, 74, a retired sales manager for Lipton Tea, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, in Ocala.
A native of Los Angeles, he moved here from St. Petersburg in 1993. Mr. George was a member of First Christian Church, Scottish Rite, and a Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy George, Dunnellon; sons, Steven George, Largo and Robert George, Simi Valley, Calif.; daughter, Rhonda Budde, Warren, Mich.; sister, Myrtle Sackett, Payson, Utah; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Alice M. Hess, 80
KINGSTON, N.Y. - Alice M. Hess, 80, a retired vocational instructor for Sullivan County Board of Education Services, Liberty, N.Y., died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at Benedictine Hospital.
A native of New York City, she was a former resident of Ocala. Mrs. Hess was a member of New York State Teachers' Association and an active member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church of Ocala.
Survivors include her daughters, Doreen Sagaline, Kingston and Diane Hess, Jacksonville; sons, Thomas S. Hess, Raleigh, N.C., and David Hess, Albany, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren William Hess, who died Jan. 17, 1985.

A native of Elmira, N.Y., she moved here 29 years ago. Ms. Hyde retired from IBM, after 40 years. She was an active member of Beverly Hills Community Church.

A native of Salineville, Ohio, she moved here from Orlando 27 years ago. Mrs. Schaffenaker was a member of Ocala Women's Gold Association, and past president of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 10208 in Salt Springs. She served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Schaffenaker, Eureka.

HERNANDO - Alberta Short, 92, a retired U.S. Postal Service clerk, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, in Inverness.
A native Columbus, Ind., she moved her from Indianapolis in 1979. Mrs. Short was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Protestant faith.
She is survived by sister, Ethel M. Patrick, Tampa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion F. Short, who died April 5, 1977.

A native of Lancaster, N.H., he moved here from Exeter, N.H., in 1985. Mr. Styles was owner of Styles Drugstore, for over 35 years. He was a member of Protestant faith, Benton Masonic Lodge, and past worthy patron of Order of the Eastern Star. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
