Paul F. Stager
Died: Sunday, October 31, 1999
Paul F. Stager, 78, died Oct. 31, 1999 at Otterbein-Cridersville Retirement Community, Cridersville.
He was born May 11, 1921, in Chicago to Coy Luther and Vere Lucille Steinman Stager. He married Edith E. Fleming, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, Randall P. (Jill) Stager of San Antonio; three daughters, Cynthia K. (Donald) Gilbert of Lima, Patricia L. (Curtis) Elder of Brookville and Pamela S. (Buck) McAtee of Springfield; a brother, John A. Stager of Lakeland, Fla.; three sisters, Ruth C. Binkley of Coshocton, Mary K. Buonassi of Miami Springs, Fla., and Esther I. Montgomery of Kissimmee, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James L. Stager.
Mr. Stager had worked at Speco Corp. and was a member of its 20-year Club. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Springfield. He served as president of the Springfield Volunteer Reading Aides for eight years, served on the board of trustees of the Ohio Parkinson Foundation and the Springfield Parkinson Support Group, and was a former member of the Springfield Tennis Patrons and Ohio Valley Tennis Association.
Services were held Nov. 3 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Springfield. Burial was in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Springfield.

Mannis "Manny" Mullins
Died: Saturday, October 30, 1999
Mannis Manny Mullins, 50, McGuffey, died Oct. 30, 1999 at his residence.
He was born Feb. 17, 1949 in Magoffin County, Ky., to Ernie and Goldie (Joseph) Mullins. His father is deceased. His mother and stepfather, John and Goldie Calvert survive in McGuffey.
Survivors also include his companion and fiancee, Teresa Vining of McGuffey; three brothers, Dennis (Sharon) Mullins of Wapakoneta, Gary (Laura) Mullins of Ada, and Phil Mullins of McGuffey; and four sisters, Sula (William) Decker of Alger, Ella Loubert of LaRue, Donna (Bob) Teeters of Kenton, and Brenda Joseph of Lakeview.
Mr. Mullins was a truck driver. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the AMVETS of Kenton, and Indian Lake. He enjoyed singing and playing country music.
Services were held Nov. 2 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home in Alger, with the Revs. Tex Rowe and Randy Wilson officiating. Burial was in Preston Cemetery in Alger. Graveside military services were conducted by the AMVETS Post 20 of Kenton.

Joseph R. Mihm
Died: Thursday, October 28, 1999
Joseph R. Mihm, 64, Garland, Texas, formerly of Van Wert, died Oct. 28, 1999 at his residence.
He was born Feb. 21, 1935, in Van Wert to Raymond and Ruby Mihm. His mother survives in Lima. In Nov. 1956 he married Maxine Daughtery, who survives.
Survivors also include a sister from the area, Rosie Butterfield of Harrod.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Mr. Mihm retired as a self-employed printer.
Graveside services were held Oct. 30 at Restland Memorial Park, Dallas.

Alan Jay "A.J." Williams
Died: Wednesday, October 27, 1999
Alan Jay A. J. Williams, 29, Oklahoma City, formerly of Lima, died Oct. 27, 1999 at Hillcrest Hospital, Oklahoma City.
He was born Oct. 1, 1970, in Oklahoma City to Al and Jay Williams. His parents survive in Oklahoma City.
Survivors also include area residents, a brother, Charles King of Alger; and two sisters, Cindy (Robert) Goldsmith of Harrod and Tonya (Ronnie) Nance of Alger.
Services were held Oct. 30, in Luther, Okla.
Arrangements were by Brown's Funeral Home, Luther, Okla.
Ralph C. Dunlap
Died: Monday, October 25, 1999
Ralph C. Dunlap, 78, Cairo, died Oct. 25, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 26, 1920, in Fort Jennings to Clark R. and Emma Robey Dunlap. On June 26, 1945, he married Doris Marie Matson, who survives.
Area survivor includes a son, Earl (Kitty Knisley) Dunlap of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Mr. Dunlap retired from Superior Coach Corp., Lima, and as a farmer. He was a member of Cairo United Methodist Church. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9648, Columbus Grove, and the Disabled American Veterans. He was an Army veteran of World War II, where he received the Purple Heart.
Services were held Oct. 29 at Cairo United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Judy Henderson officiating. Burial was in Cairo East Side Cemetery, with military rites by the American Legion and VFW.

Glen M. Emans
Died: Monday, October 25, 1999
Glen M. Emans, 86, Harrod, died Oct 25, 1999 at his residence.
He was born Oct. 5, 1913, in Putnam County to Sherman and Cora Payne Emans. On Oct. 5, 1931, he married Edna L. Fairchild, who survives.
Survivors also include three sons, Robert (Mary Lou) Emans of Lucky, David (Karen) Emans of Pandora and Floyd (Linda) Emans of Kenton; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Guy Emans; and three sisters, Zella Boggs, Adah Corron and Alta Emans.
Mr. Emans retired from Bluffton Precast Concrete Co., and as a farmer. He was a member of Lafayette United Methodist Church, Lafayette.
Services were held Oct. 28 at Chiles and Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Bluffton Chapel, with the Rev. Neal Whitney officiating. Burial was in Harman Cemetery, Gilboa.
Memorials may be made to the Ada Visiting Nurses and Hospice.
Flossie Marie Taylor

Flossie Marie Taylor, 99, Pensacola, Fla., formerly of Ada, died Oct. 25, 1999 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla.
She was born Aug. 4, 1900 in Logan County to Jacob and Elizabeth (Kupper) Lenhart. She married Irvin Taylor and he died June 2, 1978.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn Leach of Pensacola, Fla.; five grandchildren, James and Michael Leach, Karen Stiles, and Mark and Scott Taylor; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marian; and a son, Edward Taylor.
Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker. She was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Pensacola, Fla. She lived in Ada for over 15 years and then moved to Pensacola, Fla., for 21 years.
Graveside services were held Nov. 1 at Walnut Hill Cemetery near New Hampshire, Ohio, with Pastor Jack Duffy officiating.
Boyd E. Hayes
Died: Sunday, October 24, 1999
Boyd E. Hayes, 68, Ada, died Oct. 24, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 28, 1931 in Rolla, Mo., to John and Mattie (Yowell) Hayes. On Dec. 24, 1974, he married Ruth Watson Denton, and she survives in Ada.
Survivors also include a stepson, John Denton of Portland Oregon; three stepdaughters, Deborah Denton and Lana (Walter) Voyles, both of Toledo, and Pamela (Gerald) Moody of Idaho Falls, Idaho; two brothers, Henry (Audrey) Hayes of Cuba, Mo. and Jess (Evelyn) Hayes of Rolla, Mo.; one sister, Fern Stiga of Rolla, Mo.; and 11 step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Mr. Hayes was a retired mechanic from Ohio Northern University in Ada. He also worked for Derringer's Inc. in Lima and for McBride's Lawn Services in Maumee. He was a Korean War veteran, earning a Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a member of Ada Church of Christ's Disciples, Ada.
Services were held this morning, Oct. 27 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with the Rev. Patrick Allen officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada. Military services were also held.
Beulah M. Wanamaker
Died: Sunday, October 24, 1999
Beulah M. Wanamaker, 79, Dublin, formerly of Lima, died Oct. 24, 1999 at Columbus Care Center.
She was born May 10, 1920, in Piqua to Frank and Catherine Nuss Pohlabel. On Oct. 23, 1941, she married Charles J. Wanamaker, who survives.
Survivors also include two daughters, Margaret Sauer of Dublin and Carol (Jerry) Boate of Cincinnati; two sisters, Julia James of Ada and Mary Ann Rumer of Summerville, Ala.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son; two brothers, and a sister.
Mrs. Wanamaker worked in sales at Lazarus. She was a former member of St. Charles Catholic Church and a member of St. Brigade of Kildare, Dublin. She was a member of St. Rita's Medical Center Auxiliary and the Business Professional Women's Club.
Mass of Christian Burial was held this morning, Oct. 27 at St. Charles Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Dandurand officiating. Burial was in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
Willis "Bill" Hoyt
Died: Saturday, October 23, 1999
Willis Bill Hoyt, 71, McGuffey, died Oct. 23, 1999 at Baldwin Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kenton.
He was born April 5, 1928, in Hardin County, to Oather and Blanche (Hites) Hoyt. On Aug. 19, 1967, he married Kathryn Harsh, and she survives in McGuffey.
Survivors also include three daughters, Phyllis (Don) Grant of Roundhead, Cindy Spradlin of Ada, and Brenda (Danny) Ray of Kenton; two sisters, Hattie Fisher of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Francis Taylor of Mount Dora, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, April Renee Spradlin; one sister, Doris Worthington; and five brothers, Bennie, Melvin, John, Robert, and Earl Hoyt.
Mr. Hoyt retired from Ohio Northern University in 1990, after 21 years of service as a custodian in the maintenance department. He was affiliated with the Alger Assembly of God Church.
Services will be held today, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with the Rev. Dave Schneer. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.

Richard J. Reiter
Died: Saturday, October 23, 1999
Richard J. Reiter, 85, Findlay, died Oct. 23, 1999 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center.
He was born March 7, 1914, in Mount Cory, to Glen and Eva (Light) Reiter. He married Eileen Amstutz and they were divorced. He later married Lucille G. Abbott on Aug. 13, 1955 and she preceded him in death on June 27, 1987.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Hanaman of Boise, Idaho, and Jacqueline Morse of Marion; four grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Glenna Augsburger of Bluffton.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Harry Reiter; and one sister, Barbara Green.
Mr. Reiter was the former owner of R and W Motor Sales, Findlay, and was also retired from Vic Lynn Motor Sales in Kenton and Alger. He was also a delivery driver for Sink's Florist from 1979 to 1998. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in Japan.
Services will be held this afternoon, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, with Mike Gearhart officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.

Rev. E. DeVer Walker
Died: Friday, October 22, 1999
The Rev. E. DeVer Walker, 85, of Traverse City, Mich., formerly of Lima, died Oct. 22, 1999 at Munson Medical Center, Traverse City, Mich.
He was born Nov. 16, 1913, in Marion to William and Nell Walker. On May 25, 1943, he married Eleanor Horn Walker, who survives.
Survivors also include two daughters, Judith (Gene) Gillette of Bay City, Mich., and Kathryn (Ron) Walker of Phoenix; a sister, Ardith Fetter of Marion; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
The Rev. Walker retired in 1978 as a Presbyterian minister having served in churches in Hollister, Idaho and West Middlesex, Pa., and in Brilliant, Ada, Columbus, Lima and Louisville, all in Ohio. He was a member of Kiwanis International and had several articles published in religious and secular publications. He was a 1937 graduate of Centre College, Danville, Ky., a 1940 graduate of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and received his master's degree in 1942 from the University of Pittsburgh.
Memorial services were held Oct. 26 at First Congregational Church, Traverse City, Mich., with the Rev. Gary Hogue officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Shawnee Presbyterian Church, Lima.
Idabelle Binkley
Died: Thursday, October 21, 1999
Idabelle Binkley, 79, Bluffton, died Oct. 21, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan.10, 1920 in Washington Twp., Hardin County, to Homer and Nellie (Matheny) Elwood. On Aug. 30, 1944, she married Lester E. Binkley and he survives.
Survivors also include two daughters, Judy (Larry) Diller of Bluffton, and Kathy (George) Schock of Lima; a sister, Mary (Roger) Wanamaker of Findlay; four grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; and one stepgreat-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Park Elwood; and one sister, Viona Long.
Mrs. Binkley was a homemaker. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Lafayette, was a 1937 graduate of Dola High School.
Services were held Oct. 23 at Chiles and Sons-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton, with the Rev. Arvid Harklau officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Bluffton.

Martha E. Rader
Died: Monday, May 6, 2002
Martha E. Rader, 48, of Ada, died Monday, May 6, 2002, at her residence.
She was born January 13, 1954 in Bluffton to J. Robert and Edith (Henry) Daft, who survive in Ada.
On April 6, 1974, she married Kenneth D. Rader, who survives in Ada.
Also surviving is a son, Andrew C. (Sarah) Rader of Hebron, KY; two daughters: Janet (Ben) Simms, of Westerville and Cheri Rader of Ada; one brother, Mark (Cathy) Daft of Ada; and one sister, Donna (Jay) Bosse of Bluffton; and one grandson, Luke D. Rader.
She was employed at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Arlington as a nurses aide and farmed with her husband Ken on the family farm. She was a member of Bethel Church of Christ of Ada and was the choir director at Bethel Church of Christ for 25 years. She was a graduate of Ada High School in 1972 and a past 4-H advisor for the Liberty Belles 4-H Club of Ada.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 10 at the Bethel Church of Christ, Ada, with Pastor David Underwood officiating.
Burial will be in McElroy Cemetery, Ada.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 8 and 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 9 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Robert J. (Joe) Wood
Died: Monday, May 6, 2002
Robert J. (Joe) Wood, 63, of Cairo, died Monday, May 6, 2002, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born Oct. 14, 1938, near Cairo, to Elmer and Cleo (Solomon) Wood, both of whom are deceased.
On October 4, 1963, he married Christine L. Elwood, who survives.
Other survivors include two sons: Larry D. (Genise) Mason, of Findlay and Roy G. (Myrna) Mason, of Arlington; one daughter: Tracy Jo (Frank) Razinger, of Lima; one brother: Gerald (Myra) Wood, of Evans, GA; seven grandchildren: Nicole E. (Mason) Clark of Baltimore, MD; Jenny Priebe of Findlay; Margot Mason of Findlay; Echo Mason of Arlington; and Max, Samantha Jo, and Spence Razinger of Lima.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald D. Wood.
He was a member of the Cairo United Methodist Church. He had attended the County Line Church of the Brethren. He was a graduate of the class of 1956, Columbus Grove High School. He worked at the Ford Motor Lima Engine Plant, then for the Lima State Hospital, and currently was employed by St. Rita's Medical Center in maintenance. He was a member of the Lima Eagles Airee #370, was an avid golfer, and he enjoyed his family. He was a devoted dad and grandfather. He was an avid college sports fan, and was an especially avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2002 at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, with the Rev. Thomas Dearth officiating.
Burial will be in Cairo Eastside Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may go to St. Rita's Regional Cancer Center, Lima or to the Cairo United Methodist Church.
Lawrence B. Griesemer, Jr.
Died: Sunday, May 5, 2002
Lawrence B. Griesemer, Jr., 74, of Ada, died Sunday, May 5, 2002 at Sunbridge Nursing Home & Rehab. Center, Circleville.
He was born September 18, 1927 in Columbus, to Lawrence B. and Catherine (Augenstein) Griesemer, both of whom are deceased.
Survivors include two sons: Lawrence (Susan) Griesemer III of Lima, and Paul Griesemer of Toledo; a daughter, Sue (John) Hazelton of Circleville; a brother, Eugene (Ruth) Griesemer of Columbus; a sister, Helen (John) Mercer of Ingram, Texas; nine grandchildren: Daniel Griesemer, Sarah Griesemer, Brooke Griesemer, Meghan Griesemer, Jenna Hazelton, Billy Hazelton, Scott Richards, Brian Richards and Tony Richards.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Richards.
Mr. Griesemer retired as a buyer from Superior Wholesale Distributors of Lima in 1990 after 25 years.
He was a member of the United States Marine Corp. and he served both during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Ada. He graduated from Aquinas High School in Columbus in 1945. He was a member of the American Legion Post 96 of Lima.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, May 8 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Ada, with Father Dan Millisor officiating.
Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
