Mathew George Hung
Died: Friday, July 23, 1999
Mathew George Hunt, 20, Roundhead, died July 23, 1999 from injuries sustained in an auto accident south of Alger.
He was born Dec. 19, 1978 in Lima, to Betty Durbin Hunt who survives in Roundhead. He married Molly Rodman, who survives in Marion.
Survivors also include one son, Sean Michael Hunt of Marion; his maternal grandfather, George Durbin, of Roundhead; and one brother, Michael Cole of Ada.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Nellie Durbin.
Mr. Hunt was a Lance Corporal in the United States Marines with the 2nd Battalion. He was stationed at Camp Lejuene, North Carolina. He had previously served in Okinawa, Japan; Thailand, and Korea. He was a 1997 graduate of Upper Scioto Valley High School where he played in the band and participated in junior high track.
Services were held July 28 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger, with Rev. Ted Pollock officiating. Military rites were conducted by the United States Marine Corp. Burial was in Salem Cemetery, Westminster.

LaVaun High Nixon
Died: Friday, July 23, 1999
LaVaun High Nixon, 93, Ada, died July 23, 1999 at Richland Manor Nursing Home in Bluffton.
She was born April 25, 1906, in Ada, to Lewis and Mae (Stober) Hauenstein. She was married to Nick High, who preceded her in death, and to Ernest Nixon, who also preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, Nick (Shirley) High of Lakeview, Clyde (Elizabeth) High of Lima, and Ralph (Cathy) High of Lima; two brothers, Cloyce Hauenstein of Ada and Darwin Hauenstein of California; one sister, Betty Schultz of California; 14 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Cleo Braun, Trollis Garmatter, and Lenore Weaver; one brother, Kenneth Hauenstein; and one step-son, Leo Nixon.
Mrs. Nixon was a homemaker.
Services were held on July 26 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.

Tivis Bolen
Died: Tuesday, July 20, 1999
Tivis Bolen, 72, Dola, died July 20, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 8, 1926, in Knott County, Ky., to Kelly and Liza (Coburn) Bolen. On Aug. 17, 1946, he married Beatrice Puckett, and she survives in Dola.
Survivors also include three sons, Kelly R. (Carol) Bolen of Pittsburgh, Pa., Ronald (Gale) Bolen of Highland, Ill., and Tom Bolen of Lima; one daughter, Erna (Rodney) Seabert of Kenton; four brothers, Dingus (Linda) Bolen of Kenton, Arnold (Ogie) Bolen of McGuffey, Arthur (Loraine) Bolen of Columbus, and Jimmy R. (Marguerite) Bolen of Alger; one sister, Ollie Mae Holbrook of Alger; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Sammie Edward and Dennis James Bolen; three brothers, Curtis, Colonel and Turner Bolen; and one sister, Laudie Howard.
Mr. Bolen was retired from Ford Motor Company in Lima after 25 years where he was an engine test operator. He was a member of the Dunkirk Masonic Lodge #549 F and AM and a member of the Ford Retirees Club of Lima.
Services were held July 23 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with the Rev. Lewis Hicks officiating. Burial was in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hardin Hospice Care of Kenton.

Robert L. Isenbarger Sr.
Died: Tuesday, July 20, 1999
Robert L. Isenbarger Sr., 68, Dola, died July 20, 1999 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton.
He was born Jan. 7, 1931 in Dunkirk, to Darius and Pearl (Pifer) Isenbarger. On Nov. 18, 1950, he married Helen Lorene Riling in Williamstown, and she survives.
Survivors also include three sons, Robert Lewis (Catherine) of Dola, Darius Lee (Debra) of Kenton and Gregory Allen (Vicki) of Dunkirk; two daughters, Debra (Gary) Fulks of Dunkirk and Cheryl (Howard) Von Stein of Rawson; one sister, Thelma Rodabaugh of Florida; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey; and one brother.
Mr. Isenbarger was a tire builder at Cooper Tire and Rubber Company of Findlay, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the County Line Church of the Brethren of Harrod, where he was currently serving his second term on the church board. He was a graduate of Dola High School.
Services were held July 24 at Price Funeral Home, Dunkirk, with the Rev. Jim Gatchell and the Rev. Paul Ramsey officiating. Burial was in Dola Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Teen Challenge in care of the funeral home.

Hazel V. Worrell
Died: Tuesday, July 20, 1999
Hazel V. Worrell, 102, Lafayette, died July 20, 1999 at Lost Creek Care Center, Lima.
She was born May 14, 1897, in Lafayette, to David and E. Dora (Ransbottom) Harshe. On Sept. 1, 1923, she married Roy O. Worrell and he preceded her in death on Oct. 21, 1959.
Survivors include two sons, Ralph M. (Patsy) Worrell of Lafayette and Melvin L. (Barb) Worrell of Forest; two daughters, Marjorie F. Deal of Lima and Maxine (Roy) Hatton of Pineville, Ky.; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Claire, Carl, Harry, Ralph and Russell Harshe.
Mrs. Worrell was a homemaker. She was a member of Liberty Chapel Church.
Services were held July 23 at Chiles and Sons-Laman Wayne Street Chapel, with the Rev. Walter Powers officiating. Burial was in Liberty Chapel Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Chapel Church or Lost Creek Care Center.

Gordon F. Good
Died: Friday, July 16, 1999
Gordon F. Good, 67, Dola, died July 16, 1999 at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton.
He was born July 16, 1932, in Hardin County to Edwin and Marguerite Dirmeyer Good.
Survivors include three brothers, Virgil (Violet) Good and Neil (Patty) Good, both of Dola, and Eugene (Betty) Good of Dunkirk; and a sister, Patricia (Jim) Battles of Kenton.
Mr. Good was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Dola.
Services were held July 18 at Price Funeral Home, Dunkirk, with the Rev. Hap Hasenauer officiating. Burial was in Dola Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church.

Nancy D. Rigsby
Died: Friday, July 16, 1999
Nancy D. Rigsby, 61, Findlay, formerly of Forest and Kenton, died July 16, 1999 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.
She was born Dec. 20, 1937, in Hardin County, to Roy D. and Helen D. (Bostater) Searfoss. On Feb. 5, 1955, she married Tomie Rigsby, who survives.
Survivors include three sons; two daughters; one sister from this area, Frances (Gene) Gibson of Ada; and 12 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter.
Mrs. Rigsby was a member of Beechgrove Wesleyan Church, Carey. She was an avid painter and loved to crochet, knit, sew, cook and cross stitch.
Services were held July 20 in Carey. Burial was in Zion Bloom Cemetery, Vanlue.
Memorials may be made to the family in care of Shields Funeral Home, Forest.

Chris J. Wildermuth
Died: Thursday, July 15, 1999
Chris J. Wildermuth, 85, Ottawa, died July 15, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 23, 1913, in Wapakoneta. On March 4, 1996, he married Mary Dorothy Conine, who died Sept. 18, 1996.
Survivors include a daughter from this area, Telethia (Dan) Rayl of Ada; a stepson; five stepdaughters; a brother; and several grandchildren, stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
Mr. Wildermuth retired from West Ohio Gas Co., Lima. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2234, Ottawa. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Services were held July 19 at Harman Cemetery, Gilboa.
Memorials may be made to Putnam County Home Health Care.

Eleanor M. Williams
Died: Thursday, July 15, 1999
Eleanor M. Williams, 80, Kenton, died July 15, 1999 at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton.
She was born Nov. 10, 1918, in Kenton to James and Blanche Becky Dysert Cooper. In May 1952, she married Howard Williams, who survives in Kenton.
Survivors also include two sons, including area resident, Richard Gary (Lou) Anderson of Dunkirk; two daughters; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, a sister, and a grandson.
Mrs. Williams worked in retail clothing. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Kenton.
Services were held July 19 at Price Funeral Home, Kenton. Burial was in Grove Cemetery, Kenton.

Harry W. Obenour
Died: Wednesday, July 14, 1999
Harry W. Obenour, 85, Bellefontaine, formerly of Ada, died July 14, 1999 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine.
He was born Aug. 31, 1913 in Hardin County, to Archie and Cora Daniels Obenour. On Nov. 4, 1936, he married Grace Eileen Stevenson in Hardin County, and she preceded him in death on April 6, 1990.
Survivors include two sons, Norman (Linda) Obenour of Westerville and Daniel (Kathy) Obenour of Bellefontaine; two brothers, Paul Obenour of Wapakoneta and Archie Obenour of Lima; two sisters, Genevieve Hornish of Defiance and Mildred Yawberg of Whitehouse; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Dwight and Duane Obenour; a brother, David Obenour; and four sisters, Esther Shrider, Eva and Beatrice Obenour, and Doris Shepard.
Mr. Obenour was a machinist for Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Bellefontaine and past member and elder at the Ada Church of Christ Disciples for 50 years. He was a graduate of Lafayette High School.
Services were held July 17 at the First Christian Church, Bellefontaine, with Gene Marine officiating. Burial was in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, Bellefontaine, and/or to the Ada Church of Christ.

Paul J. Laudick
Died: Sunday, July 11, 1999
Paul J. Laudick, 54, Ada, died July 11, 1999 at his residence.
He was born March 5, 1945, in Toledo, to Walter and Lucy Mary (Barlage) Laudick. He was formerly married to Mildred L. (Steele) Laudick who survives in Ada.
Survivors also include two daughters, Melissa (Kenneth) Mills of Ada and Tracy (Gregory) Benroth of Mt. Cory; two sisters, Helen (Martin) Bendele of Ottowa, and Therese (Michael) Leo of Dayton; and four grandchildren.
Mr. Laudick was a Machine Operator at Randall Bearings Inc. of Lima, Ohio. He formerly worked at AirFoil Texton in Lima for seventeen years. He was a member of the McGuffey Conservation Club of McGuffey, Ohio.
Sevices will be held Wednesday, July 14 at the Preston Cemetary in Alger at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Bryan D. Day officiating. There will be no visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hardin Hospice Care of Kenton, Ohio and/or Hardin Home Health Care of Kenton, Ohio.

Martha Jane Zickafoose
Died: Saturday, July 10, 1999
Martha Jane Zickafoose, 80, Lima, died July 10, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 21, 1919 in Ada, Ohio to William and Loma Caroline Moneer (Lawrence) Zickafoose.
Her brother, Ralph J. Zickafoose, survives in Put-In-Bay. Survivors also include several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence W. and Darrell W. Zickafoose; and by her step-father, Paul A. Sparky Lawrence.
Ms. Zickafoose was a sales clerk at Kings Dept. Store and Wells Dept. Store and also worked at Deprato's Ice Cream Store. She was a member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church.
Services were held July 13, at Lewis Chapel in the Chiles& Sons-Laman Funeral Home, with Rev. Howard Allison officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association and/or Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District.

John F. Hull
Died: Wednesday, July 7, 1999
John F. Hull, 88, Seaman, Ohio, formerly of Ada, died July 9, 1999 at Seaman due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born Feb. 12, 1911 in Ada, to Lorain T. and Edna (Price) Hull.
Survivors include one sister, Martha Mae Spoor of Mesa, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine and Helen Frances Hull; and three brothers, Emerson, Warren and James Howard Hull.
Mr. Hull was a carpenter in the building industry.
Public graveside services will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery Chapel in Ada at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, with the Rev. Calvin Waugh officiating.
There will be no visitation. The body has been cremated.

Thelma J. Dyer Smith
Died: Tuesday, June 29, 1999
Thelma J. Dyer Smith, 73, McGuffey, died June 29, 1999 at Hardin HIlls Health Center in Kenton.
She was born Oct. 26, 1925, in Salyersville, Ky., to William and Mary (Carpenter) Lovely. She married Richard J. Dyer and he preceded her in death. On Jan. 1, 1997, she married Ova Smith and he survives in McGuffey.
Survivors also include three sons, Richard Wayne (Jean) Dyer and Jerry B. (Wilma) Dyer, both of Ada, and Philip S. (Phyllis) Dyer of Bellefontaine; four daughters, Wannie D. Dyer, Gloria (Robert) Rock and Rachel Boutwell, all of Alger, and Rebecca (Frank) Grizzle of Lithia, Fla.; one brother, Dexter (Betty) Lovely of Galion; one sister, Shirley Lovely of Columbia City, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Samuel Ray, Terry Edward and David Michael Dyer; two granddaughters; two grandsons, four brothers; and one sister.
Mrs. Dyer Smith was a homemaker. She attended Quickstep Pentecostal Church of God, Alger, and was currently a member of the Ada Full Gospel Church, Ada.
Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 1 at Preston Cemetery, Alger, with Pastor Robert Dye officiating.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger.
Memorials may be made to Hardin Hospice Care of Kenton.

Monroe Wireman
Died: Monday, June 28, 1999
Monroe Wireman, 54, Delphos, died June 28, 1999 at Van Wert County Hospital.
He was born Oct. 11, 1944, in Alger to Edgar and Alma Hall Wireman. On Oct. 11, 1969, he married Irene M. Pohlman, who survives in Delphos.
Survivors also include three sons, Todd (Kelly) Wireman of Fremont, Eric Wireman of Columbus and Brad Wireman at home; three daughters, Janna Wireman of Van Wert, Elaine Wireman of Columbus and Karen Wireman of Toledo; five brothers, Chester Wireman and Eugene Wireman, both of Kenton, Alonzo Wireman of Minnesota, George Wireman of Aiken, S.C., and John Wireman of Mount Victory; and two sisters, Juanita Pinks of Ada and Shirley Poling of West Mansfield.
Mr. Wireman retired as a forklift operator for the Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant, after 30 years. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Delphos, with military rites by Delphos Veterans Council.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday at Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp-Orians Funeral Home, Delphos, where a parish wake service will begin at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Jason Lyle Drury
Died: Saturday, June 26, 1999
Jason Lyle Drury, 84, Harrod, died June 26, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 13, 1915, in Harrod to Luther Allen and Juliana Pearl Wingate Drury. On May 21,1938, he married G. Louise Durck, who survives.
Survivors also include two daughters, Patricia (Ned) Althaus of Bluffton and Kaye (Larry) Dye of Sebring, Fla.; a brother, Lloyd Drury of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.; a sister, Jeanette Spencer of Lima; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas R. Drury; two brothers, Howard and Richard Drury; and two sisters, Lois Hefner and Randa Motter.
Mr. Drury retired in 1975 as a foreman with the State Highway Department and from farming. He was a member of Harrod Christian Church.
Services were held June 29 at Lewis Chapel of Chiles and Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, with the Rev. Ted Moore officiating. Burial was in Auglaize Cemetery, Harrod.
Memorial contributions may be made to Harrod Christian Church or Harrod Rescue Squad.

Anna Elizabeth "Betty" Linn
Died: Saturday, June 26, 1999
Anna Elizabeth Betty Linn, 69, Lima, formerly of Alger, died June 26, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 17, 1929, in Piedmont W.Va., to Vernon and Mary (McGhee) Dawson. On Oct. 15, 1948, she married Jack Edward Linn, who survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Carter E. of College Park, Ga., and Nalon E. (Susan) of McGuffey; two sisters, Barbara Jean Thomas of Brownsville, Texas, and Mary Fern Hargrave of Abilene, Kan.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Ida Jackson.
Mrs. Linn was a homemaker.
Services were held June 29 at Bayliff and Son Funeral Home, Cridersville, with the Rev. Richard C. Adams officiating.
Memorials may be made a charity of the donor's choice.

James C. "Jim" Bierly
Died: Wednesday, June 23, 1999
James C. Jim Bierly, 64, Lafayette, died June 23, 1999 at his residence.
He was born Aug. 2, 1934, in Lima to Lester H. and Dorothy Yant Bierly. On July 18, 1949, he married Ardith Cook, who survives.
Survivors also include two sons, James D. (Judith) Bierly of Dayton and Michael C. (Renee) Bierly of Lafayette; a brother, Gary H. Bierly of Lafayette; and four grandchildren.
Mr. Bierly owned and operated Bierly Dairy Haus, farmed, was a business entrepreneur and was a Jackson Township trustee. He was a member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54. He was a graduate of Lafayette-Jackson School and an Army veteran.
Services were held June 26 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Brown officiating. Burial was in Lafayette Cemetery.
