Wilbur J. ``Jim'' Clark Jr., 72, of New Florence RD1, died Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at his home. He was born June 21, 1927, in Ligonier Township, a son of the late Wilbur J. ``Bud'' and Odessa Horner Clark. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, L. Alice Snyder Clark; a daughter, Robin A. Havay of Warminster; a son, Donald James Clark of New Florence RD1; two grandchildren, Stephen J. Havay of Holland, Pa., and Debra A. Havay of Warminster; and a sister, Jane Ann Pizzillo of Johnstown. He was preceded in death by a brother, George T. Clark. Prior to his retirement in 1989, he had been employed as a crane operator for Teledyne-Vasco in Derry Township for over 25 years. He was a member of the Christian Church of Waterford, and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. Jim lived for his family, who in return nursed him night and day so that he could spend his final days in his home with his loving wife, children, and grandchildren by his side. Anna Mary ``Pat'' McGann-Echement
Anna Mary ``Pat'' McGann-Echement, passed away Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at Country Meadows, Bridgeville, where she had been a resident since 1993, after the passing of her second husband, Roy Echement. Mary Pat, as she was known, was born Feb. 27, 1914, to O.E. and Florence Hartman, near Frostburg, Md. She was raised in Connellsville, where she married F.J. ``Mack'' McGann in 1934, and moved to Latrobe, where she raised two sons, Jim, who lives in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., and who has three daughters and four grandchildren; and Neil, who lives in Titusville, Fla., and has two children. After ``Mack'' McGann passed away, Mary Pat moved to Pittsburgh and trained to become a nurse's aide in acute care, and retired from St. Clair Hospital in Mt. Lebanon in 1981. Elizabeth V. Crusan Everett, 70, of Rillton, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born July 27, 1929, in Black Lick, a daughter of the late Edward and Florence Frye Crusan Dunmire. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Oshie Dunmire; and three brothers, Melvin, Jessie and Kenny Crusan. She is survived by her husband, Howard Everett Sr.; and seven children, Donald ``Butch'' Crusan of Yukon, Virginia Pfrogner and her husband, James, of Rillton, Donna Everett of Greensburg, Howard Jr. of Rillton, Alice Mellinger and her husband, Howard, of Herminie, Mary Everett and Ellen Everett, both of Greensburg; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Dunmire of Saltsburg and Ruth Ader of Slickville. Frank W. Irwin, 86, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Irwin, died Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at Valley Lutheran Hospital, Mesa, Ariz. He was born Dec. 22, 1912, in Irwin, a son of the late Howard F. and Mary Verner Irwin. He was a graduate of the Norwin Class of 1913, owner of Irwin's Market, a member of the Irwin Lions Club, former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Irwin, and a member of the Church of the Master, Mesa, Ariz. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Cecilia Yost Irwin and Jean C. Cochran Irwin; and a sister, Mary Catherine Shivley. He is survived by a daughter, Betty J. Dalton of Rolling Hills, Calif.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Holowenko of West Lafayette, Ind., and Adele Niesner of Johnstown; also nieces and nephews. Mary Sue (Bovington) Johnson
Mary Sue (Bovington) Johnson, 70, of Mt. Lebanon, died peacefully at home on Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Dec. 4, 1928, to the late John R. and Helen Pettibone. She graduated from Wheaton College in Massachusetts in 1951; married C. Bayard Johnson Jr. in 1958; and settled in Pittsburgh in 1971. She is survived by her loving husband, Bayard; daughters and sons-in-law, Cam and Greg Allen of Mt. Lebanon and Gail Johnson and Tim Elgren of Clinton, N.Y.; daughter, Molly Johnson of Seattle, Wash.; son and daughter-in-law, Bayard and Karen Johnson of St. Louis, Mo.; and six grandchildren, Robby, Brad, Scott, Ruth, Ben and Bay. She is also survived by her brother, John R. Bovington of Cleveland, Ohio. She was a dedicated, active grandmother, a member of Southminster Presbyterian Church and active in numerous church and community activities, including Southminster choir, women's hand bell team and AFS student exchange. Her family gratefully acknowledges the outpouring of support throughout the past few months from friends near and far, as well as the caring guidance and support of the Family Hospice. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 13, at 9:30 a.m. at Southminster Presbyterian Church in Mt. Lebanon. Theresa M. (Toth) Kempka, 71, of Slickville, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, in her loving home. She was born Nov. 24, 1927, in Slickville, a daughter of the late Laslo and Teresa (Molitoricz) Toth. A graduate of the Franco Beauty Academy of New Kensington, she was proprietor of Theresa Kempka Beauty Salon of Slickville. Theresa was a member of St. Sylvester's Church and its Rosary Altar Society. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Julius, Louis and William Toth; and two sisters, Mary Majoris and Helen Christian. Theresa is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Henry J. Kempka; six daughters, Mary Anne Overly and husband, Mack, and Theresa Marie Wetzel and husband, James, both of Delmont, Bernadette Caranese and husband, Blase, of New Alexandria, Loretta Bell and husband, Phillip, of Latrobe, Monica Slaughenhoupt and husband, John, of North Carolina, and Deborah Bozik and husband, Steve, of Ashburn, Va.; three sons, Joseph Kempka, John Kempka and wife, Cindy, and Martin Kempka and wife, Denise, all of Greensburg; a brother, the Rev. Regina Michel Kuester, 82, of North Huntingdon, died Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, in Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh, Uptown. She was born Oct. 10, 1917, in Braddock, a daughter of the late Alexander and Rachael Yeager Michel. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Irwin, the Penns Woods Seniors Club and the Emerald Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Kuester; three brothers, Walter, Clyde and Andrew Michel; and a sister, Marie Hardin. She is survived by a son, C. Anna Matijevich, 86, of Greensburg, died Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, in the Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 16, 1912, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Eli and Milica Strika Perich. She was a member of Holy Ascension Serbian Orthodox Church, Youngwood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Matijevich, in 1962; a son, Eli Matovich; two brothers, Kojo and Luka; and three sisters, Anna, Milica, and Mary. She is survived by three sons, George Matovich of Rillton and his former wife, Doreen Matovich of Yukon, Louis Matijevich of Mt. Pleasant, and Sam Matovich of Norfolk, Va.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Stella Polocosky and Annabelle Perich, both of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Ernest Molnar, 78, of Shaler Township, died Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at the Manor Care Nursing Center, Green Tree. Born Sept. 6, 1921, in Budapest, Hungary, he was the son of the late Joseph and Maria (Badish) Molnar. He was a retired foreign language teacher in the North Hills School District. Albert W. Musgrove, 81, of Greensburg RD2 (Norvelt), died Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born Sept. 5, 1918, in Brinkerton, a son of the late Charles and Grace Shoaf Musgrove. He was a member of the Emanuel Bible Church in Brinkerton and the VFW Post 3368, Mt. Pleasant. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a machine operator for Dickerson Construction. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant sisters; an infant brother; four brothers, James, Edward, Gary and Russell Musgrove; and a sister, Stella Miller. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Flossie P. Kalp Musgrove; a stepson, Walter Humbert and his wife, Gail, of Afton, Wyo.; three stepgrandchildren, Carol, Albert and Audra; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Musgrove of Oklahoma, Pa., and the Rev. Wayne Musgrove of Delaware; three sisters, Mrs. James (Elsie) Hilty of Mt. Joseph Natale
Joseph Natale, 79, of Daytona Beach, Fla., died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999, in Daytona Beach. He was born July 18, 1920, in Jeannette, a son of the late Michael and Anna Tomasso Natale. Prior to his retirement, he was a mail carrier in Daytona Beach, and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Ressler Natale; three brothers, Anthony, Camile and Michael Natale; and two sisters, Angeline Goldino and Dolores Ausec. Surviving are two daughters, Phyllis Natale of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Jeanne Priemer of Deltona, Fla.; two grandchildren, Amanda and Robert Priemer; a brother-in-law, Bill Ressler of North Huntingdon; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Joseph and June Bertani, both of North Huntingdon; and several nieces and nephews. Mary M. Pavlik, 99, of South Greensburg, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, in the Hempfield Manor. She was born May 26, 1900, in Hecla, a daughter of the late Emery and Anna Bortnik Polocosky. She was the oldest charter member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, South Greensburg; a member of the Rosary Altar Society of St. Bruno Church; the Living Rosary Society; Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Seton #306, Greensburg; and the Jednota Ladies Lodge Branch 277. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew S. Pavlik, in 1976; two daughters, Rita and Eleanor Pavlik; two brothers, John and James Polocosky; and a sister, Anna Polocosky. She is survived by her son, Raymond L. Pavlik of South Greensburg; a granddaughter, Linda L. Grec of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Helen Beers of East Palestine, Ohio, and Elizabeth Sova of Latrobe; and several nieces and nephews. Charles B. Pipes, 77, of Hempfield Township, died Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at his home. He was born Oct. 2, 1922, in Washington, Pa., the son of the late Charles B. Sr. and Sara Cross Pipes. Prior to his retirement, he was a greeter at the Wal-Mart store in Hempfield Plaza and had previously been employed by Hackney Investigations and the Greensburg Photo Center. He was a member of the Word Of Life Ministries, was a former member of the Greensburg Lions Club and the Full Gospel Businessmen's Association and was a volunteer at the Westmoreland County Blind Association. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. Charles was a loving husband and father and a man of great faith. He is survived by his wife, Margaret ``Peg'' Pipes; a son, Daniel Wayne Pipes at home; two daughters, Mrs. Judy Kaufman and her husband, Ken, of Greensburg and Mrs. Karen Barr and her husband, Mark, of Mt. Born Nov. 21, 1917, in Irwin, he was a son of the late John Elias Sr. and Ann (Hrabak) Ralph. He was treasurer of U.S. Steel Corp. He was past president of the Association of American Railroads Treasury Offices, Citizens Crime Watch and Good Fellowship Club. He was trustee of Robert Morris College in Pittsburgh, a 32nd Degree Mason, life member of Syria Temple Shrine and Shidle Lodge #601, and was elder of the Presbyterian Church in Pompano Beach, Fla., and Irwin. Sophia Frances (Rafacz) Randolph
Sophia Frances (Rafacz) Randolph, 85, of Orange Park, Fla., formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, in Doctors Lake Health Care, Orange Park, Fla. She was born March 26, 1914, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late John and Mary Fudala Rafacz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Randolph in 1968; three brothers, John, Michael and Steve Rafacz; and a sister, Philomena Rafacz. Mrs. Randolph was a former member of the Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church and its Holy Rosary Society and Christian Mothers. She is survived by her loving family: her daughter, Phyllis Forrest and her husband, Thomas, of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; her grandson, Thomas Jeffrey Forrest of Jacksonville, Fla.; and her brother and sister, Frank Rafacz and his wife, Irene, of Mt. Charles L. Sayles, 74, of Elizabeth Township, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999, in McKeesport Hospital. He was born June 7, 1925, in Shaner, a son of the late Burt and Pearl Fellabaum Sayles. He was a retired employee of the G.C. Murphy Co., McKeesport; a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy; and a member of the Central Highlands United Methodist Church, Elizabeth Township, and the Shaner Gun Club. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Wyman. He is survived by his wife, Clada E. Fontanesi Sayles; two sons, Gerald Sayles of Elizabeth Township and Dwayne Sales of Harrisburg; two grandchildren; three sisters, June Sellman of Elizabeth Township, Sarah Shoaf of Florida, and Alice Miller of Ohio; also nieces and nephews. Gregory Skotnicki, 47, of Greensburg, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999, at the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Nov. 22, 1951, in McKeesport, the son of Frances Ruszkoski Skotnicki of White Oak and the late Ted J. Skotnicki. He was a master plumber for the Chuba Co. of Homestead, a member of the Church of St. Paul in Greensburg, a committee member of Boy Scout Troop 480, also a charter member of the White Oak Rescue and a member of the McKeesport Knights of Columbus 955. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Carolyn Yaga Skotnicki; two sons, Gregory Skotnicki Jr. and Jonathan Kokos Skotnicki, both at home; three sisters, Mary Parker of Maryland, Bernadette Grese of Liberty Borough and Terri Kisan of McKeesport; also nieces and nephews. Marion Beck Spencer, 95, of New Providence, N.J., formerly of Irwin, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999. She was born Aug. 24, 1904, in Wilmerding, a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Light Beck. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Irwin and the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 400, Irwin. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert V. Spencer; a daughter, Marilyn Lois Spencer; and a sister, Mildred Baker. She is survived by a daughter, M. Louise Magill of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a son, Donald E. Spencer of New Providence, N.J.; three grandchildren, Doug Magill of Chatham, N.J., Scott Magill of Chandler, Ariz., and Debra Rowland of Milford, Iowa; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Florence Geyer of North Versailles; also nieces and nephews. Susie M. Trozzo
Susie M. Trozzo, 89, of Monessen, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at 10:16 a.m., in the Monongahela Valley Hospital, following a short illness. She was born in Monessen, May 31, 1910, a daughter of the late Carmine and Rose (Trozzo) Orrico. Mrs. Trozzo, a homemaker, was a lifelong resident of Monessen, and a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. She was a member of the former St. Cajetan Rosary Altar Society. She was also a member of the former Italian Mutual Aid Society and Sons of Italy. She is survived by her husband, Joe Trozzo; two sons and daughters-in-law, Patsy S. and Betty Trozzo of Murrysville and Carmine A. and Lorraine Trozzo of Monessen; two sisters, Mrs. Mary DeLuca and Mrs. Ida Sala, both of Monessen; seven grandchildren, David, Larry, Ronald, Timothy, Joseph and Richard Trozzo and Patti Roman. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Rose DeCaria, Millie Cassano and Virginia Check; and a brother, Joe Orrico. Mary K. Urana
Mary K. Urana, 86, of Herminie, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at the Hempfield Manor, Hempfield Township. Mrs. Urana was born Dec. 23, 1912, in Germany, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Kaus) Klavora. Mrs. Urana received her teaching degree from the University of Indiana and retired as an elementary teacher with over 30 years of service in the Sewickley Township School District. Her memberships included being a life member of St. Edward Roman Catholic Church, Herminie, and its Altar Rosary Society, a member of the Herminie S.N.P.J. Lodge #87 and the Pennsylvania State Education Association. Mrs. Urana is survived by her husband of 53 years, John Urana; and also several nieces and nephews.
