James Mackey, age 84, a resident of Russellville, Arkansas, died Tuesday, January 22, 2002, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. He was born on October 4, 1917 in Oak Grove, Arkansas, to Jack and Ethel (Kinder) Mackey. He married Hallie Elese Bowden on November 1, 1941 in Russellville, Arkansas. Mr. Mackey was a retired Truck Driver with ValMac, Inc., a member of the Church of Christ at Gravel Hill, and an Army veteran of WWII. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Irene Mackey; three brothers, Leonard Mackey, Troy Mackey and Cleo Mackey; two sisters, Millie Mackey Foster and Myrtle Mackey Loveless. James is survived by his Wife, Hallie Elese Mackey of Russellville, Arkansas; two Sons (& Daughters-in-law) William Earl (& Betty) Mackey of Russellville, Arkansas, James (& Lynn) Mackey of Pottsville, Arkansas; two Daughters (& Sons-in-law) Earlene (& Floyd) Duvall of Russellville, Arkansas, Lucille (& Bill) Hale of Dover, Arkansas; ten Grandchildren; fourteen Great-Grandchildren; one Brother, Ottis Clifton Mackey of Hector, Arkansas; two Sisters, Mable Mackey Edwards of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Maddie Mackey Duvall of Russellville, Arkansas.
Funeral service will be 2 P.M. Friday, January 25, 2002 at the Gravel Hill Church of Christ officiated by William Roderick and Jerry Turner. Burial will be at the St. Paul/Gravel Hill Cemetery at Dover, Arkansas. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Thursday.

Johnnie Munson, age 87, a resident of Russellville, Arkansas, died Saturday, January 19, 2002 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. He was born on July 9, 1914 in Mabelvale, Arkansas, to George and Bethany (Harvey) Munson. He married Irene B. Roberson on December 8, 1940 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Johnnie was a self-employed service station equipment maintenance repairman, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Second Baptist Church of Russellville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Munson. Mr. Munson is survived by his Wife Irene Munson of Russellville; Daughter Peggy Wilkinson of Little Rock, Arkansas; Son Larry (& Vera) Munson of Russellville; three Grandchildren, Kevin Pickens, Shaun Pickens, & Shelia Hughes; three Great-Grandchildren Justin White, Austin Hughes, & Noah Hughes; two Brothers, Alfred Munson of North Little Rock, and Burl Munson of Benton.
Funeral service will be 10 A.M. Monday, January 21, 2002 at the Humphrey Chapel officiated by Rev. David McLemore and Rev. Don Rose. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Pinecrest Cemetery at Little Rock, Arkansas under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Sunday.

Rev. James Ragsdale, age 90, a resident of Russellville, Arkansas, died Thursday, January 31, 2002 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville, Arkansas. He was born on April 9, 1911 in Russellville, Arkansas, to Excelsior and Emma Susan (Oates) Ragsdale. His grandfather, Rev. Monroe Oates was pastor of the Pottsville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church from 1858 - 1900. He was a retired Presbyterian Minister and a member of the Pottsville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Glen Ragsdale and three sisters, Louie Ragsdale Griffin, Evelyn Ragsdale Williams and Margaret Ragsdale Ragon. Rev. Ragsdale is survived by his Brother, William Oates Ragsdale of Russellville, Arkansas; four Nieces; three Nephews and a number of Great-nieces & nephews and Great-Great-Nieces & Nephews.
Funeral service will be 11 A.M. Monday, February 4, 2002 at the Pottsville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church officiated by Rev. Edward Fleagle and Rev. Thomas Morris. Burial will be at the Pisgah Cemetery at Pottsville, Arkansas. The family will receive friends from 3-5 P.M. Sunday at Humphrey Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church of Pottsville, P.O. Box 156, Pottsville, Arkansas.

Rev. Vera Riley, age 92, of Russellville, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on January 4, 2002. She was born June 1, 1909, at Magazine, Arkansas, to the late Rev. L.L. Riley and Josie (Pool) Riley. She was an Assemblies of God minister for 72 years, evangalized in ten states, pastored churches in Arkansas and Iowa. She was active in AY'S, WM'S, and New Dimension Sunday School Class at First Assembly of God of Russellville, Arkansas She was preceded in death by sisters: Opal Hampton and Mary Lee Riley. Survivors include sisters: Evelyn Branch of Russellville, Arkansas, Dorothy Strickland of Midland, Texas; one brother, Eugene Riley of New Mexico; Nephews, Tom Hampton, Donnie Lovell, Bill Strickland; Nieces, Edith Crabtrey, Maxie Jean Knipper, Beverly Scott, Ruby Talley, Vicki Ayule, Micki Twiss, Pam Busbee, numerous great nieces and nephews and her special adopted family, Judy Zollener and Faith Lucas, all of Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Assembly of God Church of Russellville with Rev. Larry Moore and Rev. Jesse Rye officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery at Russellville. Active Pallbearers will be Tom Hampton, Donnie Lovell, Bill Strickland, Charles Scott, Gerald Scott, Chris Lovell, Bobby Busbee and Lonnie Crabtrey. Honorary pallbearers include All Assemblies of God Ministers, Dr. Woody Jones and Staff of Senior Specialists Hospice Group. Visitation will be from 4-6 pm Sunday, January 6, 2001 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Assemblies of God Benevolence Department at Springfield, Missouri and to the Senior Specialist Hospice Group of Russellville.

Anna Rudder, age 77, a resident of Pelsor, Arkansas, died Monday, January 14, 2002 in Russellville, Arkansas. She was born on March 25, 1924 in Ben Hur, Arkansas, to Joe and Jeanette (Harris) Ford. Mrs. Rudder was a Homemaker and a member of the Ben Hur Free Will Baptist Church. She was the widow of Delmar Rudder andwas also preceded in death by two granddaughters; four brothers and one sister. Anna is survived by five Sons (& Daughters-in-law), Carl (& Phyllis) Rudder of Gentry, Arkansas; David (& Barbara) Rudder of Gladstone, Missouri; Jerry (& Vicky) Rudder of Platte City, Missouri; Danny Rudder of Kansas City, Missouri; Gilbert (& Lisa) Rudder of Russellville, Arkansas; four Daughters (& Sons-in-law) Pauline (& Roy) Solomon of Dover, Arkansas; Diane (& Ron) Brown of Blue Springs, Missouri; Donna (& Richard) Thorne of Blue Springs, Missouri; Joetta (& Mike) Reynolds of Kansas City, Missouri; 31 Grandchildren; 28 Great-Grandchildren; one Brother, Ray Ford of Dover, Arkansas; and one Sister, Louisa Yancey of Ben Hur, Arkansas.
Funeral service will be 2 P.M. Friday, January 18, 2002 at the Ben Hur Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will be at the Moore Cemetery at Ben Hur, Arkansas, under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Mrs. Rudder's Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Ben Hur Free Will Baptist Church.

Mary Chew Scarborough, age 84, a resident of Russellville, Arkansas, died Tuesday, January 15, 2002 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. She was born on January 9, 1918 in Forrest City, Arkansas. Mary Chew as she like to be called was a 1936 graduate of Forrest City High School. She attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and then married L. H. Scarborogh. She and her husband owned and operated Exchange Furniture in Belaire, Texas for many years. The couple retired to Russellville in 1976 and Mr. Scarborough died in 1983. She was active in supporting the Russellville Battered Women's Shelter and the Main Street Mission. She enjoyed activities with the Sewing Club and the Bridge Club. Mary Chew was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Russellville where she served as President of the St. Elizabeth's Guild. Mrs. Scarborough is survived by her Son & Daughter-in-law Bill & Vickie Scarborough of Neosho, Missouri, and her Granddaughter, Amanda Scarborough of Joplin, Missouri.
Graveside Funeral and Burial service will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 17, 2002, officiated by Rev. Tom Newman, at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery at Forrest City, Arkansas under the direction of Stephens Funeral Service. Memorials may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church, 501 South Phonnix, Russellville, AR 72801.

George Standridge, a resident of Russellville, Arkansas, died Wednesday, January 23, 2002, at Legacy Lodge Nursing Home in Russellville, Arkansas. Arrangements are pending.

Thomas Douglas "Doug" Stark, age 52, a resident of Pottsville, Arkansas, died after a brief illness on Friday, January 18, 2002 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born on May 11, 1949 in Russellville, to J.D. and Neva Dene (Jones) Stark. Mr. Stark was a Retired State Trooper with the State of Arkansas as well as a Retired Army National Guardsman. He was preceded in death by his Father, J. D. Stark; and Mother, Neva Dene Stark Price. Doug was a member of Masonic Lodge #333, the Scott County Fox & Wolf Hunters Association, Waldron Volunteer Fire Department and the Mars Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Crow Mountain (Pottsville). Doug is survived by his Wife, Joanne G. Stark of Pottsville, Arkansas; two Sons Jason Douglas (& Kathleen) Stark of Subiaco, Arkansas, Scott Thomas (& Kerry) Stark of Russellville, Arkansas; a Grand-daughter Sadie Ann Stark of Subiaco, Arkansas; two Brothers, Donnie Stark of Pottsville, Arkansas, Danny Keith Stark of Heber Springs, Arkansas; Grand-Father Benton Thomas Jones of Crow Mountain, Arkansas; Step-Father A. J. Price of Pottsville, Arkansas; two Step-Sisters, Sandy Pugh of Russellville, Arkansas, Sherrie Orr of Dumas, Texas; as well as four Nieces and seven Nephews.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 22, 2002 at Humphrey Chapel officiated by Rev. Eldon Thomas and Rev. Bill Moody. Masonic Services and Burial will be at Bowden Cemetery (Crow Mountain), Pottsville, Arkansas under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. The family will receive friends Monday, January 21, 2002 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.

Donna Driver Stearns, age 47, a resident of McGregor, Texas, formerly of Russellville, Arkansas, died Saturday, January 12, 2002 at McGregor, Texas. She was born on September 19, 1954 in Russellville, to Edward and Evelyn (Leavell) Driver. Donna graduated with honors from Russellville High School in May of 1972 and completed her education at Arkansas Tech University.She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and in History. She married Clint Stearns, on January 11, 1997 in Russellville, and later moved to McGregor, Texas. She was a Teacher with Marlin Middle School at Marlin, Texas and also taught at Dover High School at Dover, Arkansas for 5 years. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Justin Edward Hale, and her father, Edward Driver. She was a member of the Protestant faith. She is survived by her husband, Clint Stearns of McGregor, Texas; a Daughter, Rachel Hale of Russellville, AR; 2 Step-daughters, Tatia and Jessica Stearns of Rendon, Texas; her Mother, Evelyn Driver of Russellville, Arkansas as well as numerous other family members.
Graveside service and Burial will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 16, 2002 at the McFadden Cemetery at Dover officiated by Dr. Steve Mosley, under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.

Nell Tippit, age 96, a resident of Ola, Arkansas, died at her home on Sunday, January 20, 2002. She was born on June 9, 1904 in Casa, Arkansas, to William and Mary (Holmes) McCabe. She was a Homemaker. She was the widow of Roy Tippit, Sr., andwas also preceded in death by a son, James "George" Tippit of Ola, AR. She was a member of the Ola Church of Christ. Nell is survived by two Sons, Roy Tippit, and Hollis (& June) Tippit all of Casa; one Daughter-in-law, Louise Tippit of Ola; Fifteen grand-children; many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces & nephews.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 22, 2002 at the Ola Church of Christ officiated by Mr. Bob Fallen. Burial will be at the Casa Cemetery at Casa, Arkansas under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.

Ruth Trigg, age 94, a resident of Russellville, formerly of Hector died Wednesday, January 30, 2002 at Stella Manor Nursing Home in Russellville. She was born on August 15, 1907 in Hector, Arkansas, to John and Roxie (Lemley) Hurst. She attended Arkansas Polytechnic College studying education, and she enjoyed remembering the four years that she taught school at Economy and New Hope school in Pope County. She was the widow of the late Charles Phillip Trigg. Mrs. Trigg worked with the Pope County Democratic Election Commission and was an excellent seamstress. She was a member of the Point Remove Primitive Baptist Church. Ruth is survived by three Sons, John Lonus Trigg of Washington, Illinois, Billy Birl Trigg of Russellville, Arkansas, Ronald K. Trigg of Russellville, Arkansas; one Daughter Ruth Ellen Becker of Russellville, Arkansas; nine Grandchildren; fourteen Great-Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren; and one Sister, Margie George of Pottsville, Arkansas.
Funeral service will be 10 A.M. Saturday, February 2, 2002 at the Point Remove Primitive Baptist Church officiated by Elder Harold Stumbaugh and Elder H. D. Fulmer. Burial will be at the Rock Springs Cemetery at Hector. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Point Remove Primitive Baptist Church, 510 North Knoxville, Russellville, AR 72801.

Mary Alice West, age 93, of Russellville, died Friday, January 25, 2002. The daughter of Guy and Moody Kelley Ellington, she was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, where before her illness, she was active in the women's organizations. She and her husband were founders and co-owners of a wholesale company in the River Valley area. She was a charter member of the Book Review Club and was a member of the Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. A. "June" West. Mrs. West is survived by two Daughters, Susie West and Mary June Young, both of Russellville, AR; two Grandchildren, Debi Nordin, and Wayne West Young, also both of Russellville, AR; seven Great-Grandchildren, Bryan, Jodi, Jeffrey, Joy & Jessica Johnson; Ashley, Roland, & Kelby Nordin; one Brother, Phillip Ellington, Washington, D. C.; one Great-Great-Grandchild, Timmy Johnson; as well as several nieces & nephews.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2002 at Humphrey Chapel officiated by Rev. Kenyon Kalvismacki. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Russellville. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Central Presbyterian Church, 400 West Main Street, Russellville, AR 72801.
