Kenneth N. Carroll
Kenneth N. Carroll, 72, of Live Oak, passed away, Wednesday, June 11, 2003, in his home after a short illness. The Suwannee County native retired after 30 years as a county executive director with the Unites States Department of Agriculture in Bushnell and for his last eight years in Madison. He was a member of Mt. Olive Church of Christ, Live Oak.
Survivors include: his wife, Nina Carroll; one son, Russell K. Carroll, Live Oak; one daughter; Linda Morgan, Live Oak; one step-son, Kirk Head, Live Oak; one step-daughter, Brenda Carroll, Live Oak; one sister, Pauline Gamble, Live Oak; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 14 at Daniels Memorial Chapel, Live Oak. Interment
will follow in Mt. Olive Church of Christ Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday evening in the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m.

Clara Mae Jernigan
Clara Mae Jernigan, 91, of Live Oak, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2003, in Shands at Live Oak after a long illness. The Wellborn native moved to Live Oak from Birmingham, Ala. 23 years ago, graduated from Suwannee High School in 1929, retired as a secretary after 35 years with the Board of Education in Birmingham, was a member of Live Oak Women's Club and a member of the Wellborn Methodist Church. Mrs. Jernigan was the daughter of the late Judge Paul L. and Annie Hemming.
Survivors include: her daughter, Shirley (James) Croson, Woodstock, Va.; sisters-in-law, Irene McCall and Florrie Jernigan, both of Live Oak, Mary Jernigan, Jacksonville; four grandchildren, Sharon Savoy, West Minister, Calif., Vicki Jennings, Long Beach, Calif., Cheryl Jennings, San Francisco, Calif. and Sandra Huddleston, Houston, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Max Huddleston, Nicholas Savoy and Michelle Savoy.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 11, at Daniels Memorial Chapel, Live Oak, with the Rev. Holland Vaughn officiating. Interment
will follow in the Wellborn Cemetery.

John Lewis Hunter
John Lewis Hunter, 91, of Live Oak, passed away, Saturday, June 7, 2003, in the Good Samaritan Center, Dowling Park, after a short illness. He was born in Lake City, moved to Live Oak in 1945, retired after nine years as supervisor with the Suwannee County Road Department, was the owner/operator of Hunter Brothers Radiator & Welding Shop, which was established in 1946, and a member of the Live Oak Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Winona Hunter, and would have been married 65 years this month.
Survivors include: one daughter, Shera Fike, Arlington, Texas; two sons, Arnold Hunter, Live Oak, and Randolph Hunter, De Soto, Texas; one sister, Annie Crawford, Jacksonville; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by one sister, Bessie Hunter; five brothers, Verna, Alva, Ebb, Hayward and Leo Hunter; and a grandson, T.J. Stokes.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 11, at the Live Oak Church of Christ with the Rev. Craig Williams officiating. Interment
will follow in Live Oak Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Advent Christian Village, Dowling Park, FL 32064.

Nellie V. Shadowen
Nellie V. Shadowen, 96, of Live Oak, passed away, Thursday, June 5, 2003, in the Good Samaritan Center, Dowling Park, after a long illness. The Fordyce, Ark. native moved to Live Oak from Benton, Ill. in 1984, was a homemaker and a member of Christopher Illinois Church of God.
Survivors include two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, June 9 at Daniels Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Fred Watson officiating.

Mary Lou Brooker
Mrs. Mary Lou Brooker Krayenborg, 71, passed away Monday, June 9, 2003. Mrs. Krayenborg was a native of Live Oak and a resident of Jacksonville since 1955. She had retired from King Edward Cigars with 28 years of service and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: her husband of 49 years, Roger E. Krayenborg; three daughters, Dena J. Drury, Rogana L. Kendrick and Carla Denise Pegg; one brother, Fred N. Brooker Jr.; seven grandchildren, Misty Dawn Drury, Shannon Marie Cain, Joshua Kaleb Krayenborg, David Brian Cain, Ashlie Elaine Drury, Mark David Pegg Jr. and Leeanne Nicole Pegg and two great-grandchildren, T. J. Hodges and Keara Guy.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 11 at 10 a.m. in the George H. Hewell and Son Northside Funeral Home, 4747 Main St., Jacksonville, with the Rev. Dalton Robertson officiating. Interment
is in the Live Oak Cemetery, Live Oak, with a 2 p.m. committal service.

Erna Marie Dorette Bohling
Erna Marie Dorette Meyer, 95, was born Oct. 15, 1907 to Fred and Marie Habichorst Meyer at Athol, Kan. She was baptized Nov. 3 at St. John's Lutheran Church at Athol, Kan. and confirmed at the age of 14. Erna attended school at District 76, Pleasant Ridge in Smith County, Kan.
Dec. 15, 1926 she married Henry W. Bohling. To this union 13 children were born. Erna had made her home with daughter, Leona, and husband Edgar Soules, for the past eight years. Erna died May 21, 2003 in Live Oak, Fla.
Survivors include: Raymond Bohling and wife Doris, Della Hazen, Eileen Pieratt and husband Ronald, Leona Soules and husband Edgar, Ruth Brand and husband Glen, Herbert Bohling and wife Gerdy, Marilyn Williford and husband Hugh, Kenneth Bohling and wife Rinnie, Robert Bohling and wife Valerie, Judith Hockenberry and husband William, Kathleen Ferguson and husband James, Mrs. Henry Bohling (Delores) and Mrs. Donald Bohling (Hilda); 31 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, many step-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry, two sons, Henry and Donald, a grandson Frederick and a great-grandson Alan.
Erna was a member of the Women's Missionary Society and Ruth Naomi Circle at St. Paul (Hickory Grove) Lutheran Church. She and Henry were lifetime members of St. Paul.
Erna enjoyed family reunions, a trip to Germany, loved to garden and to cook.
Visitation was held Thursday, May 29 and services followed at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran (Hickory Grove) Church, with burial in the church cemetery in Auburn, Neb.
Dorothy Lee Gentry
Dorothy Lee Gentry, 70, of Live Oak, Fla. passed away May 20, 2003 at Kindred Hospital in Green Cove Springs, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Carl and Sleetie Gentry and two sisters, Carlene Gentry Kent and Iris Jowers.
Survivors include her sister, Mary Grayson of Live Oak, Fla. and an aunt, Irene Vaughn of Jasper, Fla. and many nieces and nephews.

Roberts, Joseph Angus
Joseph Angus (Joey) Roberts, 23, of New Smyrna Beach, came to his untimely death on June 4, 2003 as a result of an automobile accident.
Joey was a resident of Branford prior to moving to New Smyrna. He was a caring person with a great sense of humor.
Survivors are: mother and father, Jeanna and Bob Drinkard; grandparents, Rex and Johnnie Silvers; sister and brother in law, Amy and Scott Welch and their children Hannah and Adian Welch; brothers, Charles Houston and Randall (Mandy) Houston; the love of his life Keblaitis and her son, Kieran Bell, numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and sorrowing friends. Visitation for friends was from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, June 7, 2003 at the Mizell Funeral Home.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, June 8, 2003 at 10 a. m. at the Mizell Funeral Home Chapel.

Jesus Manuel Castillo, Jr., age 4 months, Jennings, passed away Monday, June 2, 2003, at Shands of Gainesville. Jesus was born on January 31, 2003 in Gainesville. Survivors include: his parents, Jesus and Gloria Castillo of Jennings; paternal grandparents, Jose Castillo and Maria Castillo; maternal grandparents, Manuel Lumbreras and Gloria Rubio; two sisters, Cynthia and Kayla Castillo; many aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 5, 2003 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home with Rev. Jake Brady officiating. Internment followed in Sassers Landing Cemetery. Harry T. Reid Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Elmer Alton Owens
Mr. Elmer Alton Owens, 76, Lake City, died Friday, June 6, 2003, in The Health Center of Lake City.
Mr. Owens was a native of Tallahassee and had resided in Jasper before moving to Lake City in 1942. He was the son of the late Lake G. and Ruth G. Owens and was retired from the military, having served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include: two sisters, Alma Williamson of Lake City and Aline Owens Wooten of Gainesville.
Graveside funeral services were conducted on Saturday, June 7, 2003 in Memorial Cemetery, Lake City with Rev. John Harris, Chaplin for the State of Florida officiating. Guerry Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
