John H. Bius
John H. Bius, 76, of 917 Barbara Circle, Moultrie, Ga., died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003 at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, Ga.
Funeral services were held Aug. 25, at the First Baptist Church in Moultrie, Ga. with burial in the Rose of Sharon Cemetery. The Rev. J.E. Moak and the Rev. Roger Benton officiated.
Mr. Bius was born in Worth County, Ga. to Jake Bius and Minona Hortman Bius, both deceased. He graduated as valedictorian of Doerun High School Class of 1943. He graduated from Southern College of Pharmacy in Atlanta, Ga. He was a pharmacist for Walgreen for 30 years and owned Bius Rexall Drugs in Live Oak. He returned to Moultrie, Ga. to reside in 1991 and was a member of First Baptist Church there.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Ivey Bius, and two brothers, Vernon and Albert Bius.
Survivors include: his two sons, David Bius and wife Kandy, and Tim Bius and wife Misty; two daughters, Cindy Appleman and husband Glenn of Jacksonville and Joanna Grice and husband Mark of Crewstview; two brothers, Tom Sizemore and wife Wilma of Toccoa, Ga. and Jake Bius and wife Betty of Beverly Hills; three sisters, Wilma Beverly, Julia Lastinger and Winona Herbik, all of Moultrie, Ga.; three sisters-in-law, Merle Bius of Moultrie, Ga., Gloria Bius of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Thelma Johnson of Live Oak; and grandchildren, Alana, Dillon and Grant Appleman, Ashley, John and Haley Grice, Matthew and David Bius, Danielle Grace and Justin and Parker Johnson.

Betty Stevens
Betty Stevens, 69, of Live Oak, passed away Sept. 19, 2003 in her home after a short illness. Born in Farmington, Conn., she graduated from Farmington High School, then worked as a broker in real estate. Moving to Live Oak in 1993 from Orlando, she worked part-time at the Live Oak Wal-Mart and even donated her time and services to the local Suwannee Valley Humane Society, because she has always been fond of all types of animals, and she was a member of the Wellborn Methodist Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Lynda Short, Tampa; one son, Guy Kemp, Orlando; one sister, Shirley Perkins, Avon, Conn.; one brother, William Stevens, Ormond Beach; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted at 4 p.m., Oct. 4, at the Wellborn Methodist Church with the Rev. Timothy Plan officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Suwannee Valley Humane Society, P.O. Bo 68, Live Oak, FL 32064.

Ozell Robinson
Ozell Robinson, 58, a resident of Live Oak, passed away Sept. 20, 2003 in the Shands at Lake Shore Hospital, Lake City.
Survived by: his wife, Julianna Robinson, one daughter, Tinna Robinson, six sons, the Rev. Charles Robinson, Chadwick Robinson, Ozell Robinson Jr., Rick Robinson, Fredrick Robinson and Robert James Robinson Sr., one brother; two uncles; two aunts; six sisters and many other close relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Sept. 27, at the African Baptist Church, Live Oak. The Rev. Alex Fountain, pastor and the Rev. Tommy Jefferson officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., Sept. 26, at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Live Oak.

Deborah Nickologianis
Deborah Nickologianis, 50, a resident of Wellborn, passed away Sept. 18, 2003 at her home following a long illness. A native of Lowell, Mass., the daughter of the late Peter Nicholas Nickologianis, she had lived her early life in Tyngesboro, Mass. and graduated from Tyngesboro High School, later moving to Ft. Lauderdale for many years prior to moving to Wellborn in 1977. She had a deep love for animals of all kinds, and horses particularly. She was an avid horse enthusiast and rider. She was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Live Oak. She was preceded in death by one brother David Nickologianis.
Survivors include: her mother, Irene Nickologianis of Wellborn; two sisters, Brenda Berube of Dracut, Mass. and Carol Berube of Southwest Ranches; three nephews, Peter Nickologianis, Kevin Berube and Eric Berube; two nieces, Karen Hanley and Nicole Roldan; one great-niece, Shannon McCarthy; one great-nephew, Eric Berube; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial mass will be conducted today, Sept. 24 at 10 a.m. in the St.. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Michael Pendergraft, pastor, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Hospice of the Suwannee Valley, 618 SW Florida Gateway Boulevard, Lake City, FL 32024, or to the American Cancer Society, Suwannee County Unit, 229 SW 16th St., Gainesville, FL 32610.

George Edward Noland Sr.
George Edward Noland Sr., 65, a resident of Mayo, passed away Sept. 21, 2003 at his residence. A native of Detroit, Mich., he has lived in Lafayette County for the past 17 years moving there from Tampa. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Mayo and also a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include: his wife of 18 years, Patricia (Hall) Noland of Mayo; three sons, Thomas Noland, and wife Deitra, of Mayo, George "Scooter" Noland Jr., and wife Allyson, of Richmond, Va. and Tyler Noland, and wife Samantha, also of Mayo; three daughters, Barbara Stein, and husband Dan, of Chandler, Ariz., Karen Holmes, and husband Mark, of Mayo and Joyce Anne Marsh, and husband Matt, of Everette, Wa.; a brother, Merle Preston of Milan, Mich., a sister-in-law, Eustis Preston of Palaski, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Sept. 25, at the New Hope Baptist Church in Mayo, with Brother George Noland Jr. officiating and Brother Charlie Walker assisting. Interment
will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Mayo.

Dr. John T. Greene
Dr. John Thomas Greene, 92, of Croasdaile Village, Durham, N.C., passed away, Sept. 19, 2003. He was born in Suwannee County, Aug. 11, 1911, the ninth child of John Jefferson Greene and Sally Griffin Greene.
Dr. Greene had a very rewarding 40 plus year career as a minister, a college professor and a licensed marriage counselor. He received his A.B. degree from Duke University in 1936, his B.D. from the Duke Divinity School in 1928, his M.A. degree from Duke University in 1940, and his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina in 1955. Dr. Greene was an active member of the North Carolina United Methodist Church Conference for 17 years, serving as pastor of 13 churches, and during his last four active years served as the Director of the Department of Christian Family Life Education and Counseling for the Conference Board of Education. He previously served five Advent Christian churches as pastor before joining the Methodist Church. Dr. Greene became very interested in the developing field of marriage and family counseling while pursuing his divinity and Masters degrees at Duke University. He became a pioneer in that field, after obtaining his Ph.D. in a related topic, he held hundreds of family life institutes and marriage counseling workshops in 35 states (the first such workshops to be held in this field.) He served professorships in the field of marriage counseling and family life education at Boston University and Florida State University, where he retired in 1974 as the Director of the Marriage Counseling Service. He also taught at the University of North Carolina, Emory University, Colorado State University and the University of Maryland. During his career, Dr. Greene supervised hundreds of graduate students who are continuing his work in marriage and family counseling today. Dr. Greene also maintained a private marriage and family counseling practice into his 70's.
Among Dr. Greene's numerous recognition was the award he received in 1980 for Outstanding Service from the Southeastern Council on Family Relations. The award paid tribute to his professional endeavors for more than four decades "to promote the welfare of families through education, teaching and counseling." He authored and co-authored several books and received numerous recognition throughout his lifetime for his ground-breaking work in the field of marriage and family relations. In addition to memberships in numerous professional organizations, Dr. Greene was also a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, the Sons of the American Revolution and the Robert Butler Masonic Lodge of Tallahassee. Dr. Green also served as Scoutmaster for several Boy Scouts troops in the communities where he preached. He loved music and played numerous instruments until suffering a partially paralyzing stroke in 1998. His primary instruments were the five-string banjo , the Dobro and the harmonica.
Dr. Green is survived by: his two sons, Dr. John E. Greene of New Smyrna Beach and Harold P. Greene, Raleigh, N.C.; three granddaughters, one grandson and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Nellie Pell of Surry County, N.C., two brothers and six sisters. Dr. Greene and Nellie Pell met at Appalachian State Teacher's College (now Appalachian state University) in Boone, N.C. and were married on Dec. 21, 1934. Nellie Pell pursued a career as a school teacher and principal while he pursued his ministerial, professional and marriage counseling careers.
Burial services will be at the Westfield Friends Meeting in Westfield, N.C. at 2 p.m., Sept. 27, where his wife Nellie is buried. The family will receive friends and well-wishers from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. today at Howell Funeral Home in Pilot Mountain, N.C. Obituary for the Jasper News Sept. 25, 2003
Loraine Bamberg Kiefer, 99, passed away at Fleet Landing Health Center, Atlantic Beach, Florida, Friday, September 12, 2003.
Loraine was born September 6, 1904 in High Springs, to the late Draper Underwood and Janie Suggs Underwood. Loraine married Frank S. Bamberg, Jr. from Jasper. They had two children, Frank S. Bamberg, III and Mary Ann Bamberg. Mr. Bamberg passed away in 1944. Loraine later married Jerome C. Kiefer of Lexington, Ky. He passed away in October of 1990.
Loraine was active in community and church affairs in Jasper. She was a member of Jasper First Baptist Church, The Woman's Club, the Garden Club and the Historical Society. She was elected several times to serve in the Silver-Haired Legislature in Tallahassee and was crowned Queen of Florida Diamond Jubilee when she was 75 years old.
Loraine was preceded in death by her son, Frank, in January, 1993 and her daughter, Mary Ann Krozier, November, 2001.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Christopher Prescott and his wife, Robin, Alpharetta, Ga., and Anne Loraine Robinson and her husband, CDR. Harry Robinson, Virginia Beach, Va.; three great grandchildren, Jason Prescott, Lindsay Prescott and Andrew Robinson; also Loraine's daughter-in-law, Ruth Bamberg, Atlantic Beach.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at Jasper First Baptist Church. Internment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.

Margaret, Addison
Margaret Elizabeth Addison of O'Brien passed away at Lake City Medical Center, September 18, 2003 after a lengthy illness. She was 76 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Cecil M. Addison. Mrs. Addison was a retired nurse and an Eastern Star member.
She is survived by three sons: Lee Agnew of Kissimmee; John (Dannette) Addison of Clayton, Ohio and Cliff (Margie) Addison of Branford. She is also survived by two sisters, one brother, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held September 21, 2003 in Punta Gorda, Florida.
