Charles Willard Womac Jr.
Charles Willard Womac Jr., 67, of Riceville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday night, April 13, 2006, at his home.
He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and was retired from the McMinn County Highway Department after 25 years of service. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alzena Runion Womac; his stepmother, Florence Wilma Eller Womac; and one sister, Mary Ruth Womac.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Leona Swafford Womac of Riceville; one daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Phil Wilkins of Riceville; his father, Charles Willard Womac Sr. of Riceville; one sister and brother-in-law, Dean Boyd Shaver and Ed Shaver of Riceville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Claude and Linda Womac of Riceville, and David and Grace Womac of Athens; two grandchildren, Kimberlye Ware and husband, Chris, of Athens, and Kris Wilkins and wife, Gina, of Riceville; four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Blake and Jaylan Ware and Kaitlyn Wilkins; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Athens.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Boyd, Stacey Womac, Mike Womac, Ricky Swafford, Brian Letner and Mike Chrisman. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Wattenbarger, Josh Guthrie, Rush Guthrie, Jewell Allen, Jimmy Welch, Wayne Davis, Fletcher Letner and Larry Swafford.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Ziegler Funeral Home of Athens is in charge of arrangements.

Helen Ruth Davis Caylor
Helen Ruth Davis Caylor, 65, of Niota, died Thursday, April 13, 2006, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.
A native of Loudon County, and a resident of McMinn County since 1974, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Dewey Caylor, on Sept. 12, 2000; and her father, Robert Edward Davis. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and was a former private caretaker.
Survivors include her mother, Margaret Louise Osborne Davis Price of Lenoir City; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rebecca Rhines of Lenoir City, Karen and Greg Newman of Niota, and Kimberly C. and John H. Harris of Athens; one son and daughter-in-law, John Derek and Petula Caylor of Niota; nine grandchildren, Caleb Coker, Brittany Coker, Ashley Hayes, Julie Rhines, Jennifer Rhines, Andrea Rhines Caldwell, Denver Laylan McGrady, John Devin Caylor and Jerred Dakota Caylor; three step-grandchildren, Cassiday Newman, Cale Newman and Abigail Harris; four great-grandchildren, Keenan MiCabe, Faith Floyd, Bailey Rose Caldwell and Samuel Lewis Caldwell; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Betty and J.W. McPhail of Athens, Hughwanna and Wayne Harvey of Lenoir City, and Willa Nioka Davis of Athens; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Freddie Davis of Vonore, and Jerry and Darlene Davis of Athens; her closest friends, Bill and Mary Dishner of Lenoir City; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Martin Bowlin officiating. Burial will follow in Sewee Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be J.W. McPhail, John Harris, Wayne Harvey, Troy Thearpe, Greg Newman and Todd Hall.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Ora Nell Foster Hutsell
Ora Nell Foster Hutsell, 88, of Athens, died Sunday, April 16, 2006, at Brookewood Nursing Home in Decatur.
A native and resident of McMinn County for most of her life, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Maggie Mintz Davis, and was preceded in death by her first husband, Tommy Foster; her former husband, John Bayless Hutsell; one son, Charles Edwin Foster; one daughter-in-law, Bobbie Sue Foster; one brother, Olen B. Davis; and one sister, Mary Alice Houston. She was a member of Tranquility United Methodist Church and was a Sunday school teacher there for 30 years, and also at Sewee Church of God for many years. She was a Layleader of Tranquility United Methodist Church and was a former V-President of the McMinn County United Methodist Women. She was a former member of the Tranquility Home Demonstration Club, was a teacher´s aide at E.K. Baker School, worked with the Election Commission as a demonstration clerk and worked for Easter Seals and March of Dimes.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Gail Murphy of Goldsboro, N.C.; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Kenneth Alvin and Jimmie Foster of Goldsboro, N.C., and Bobby Joe Foster of Cleveland; one sister, Geneva Oliver of Banner Elk, N.C.; one brother, Robert Lee Davis of Georgetown, Ga.; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home of Athens.

Mary Ruth Burrell
Mary Ruth Burrell, 72, of Athens, and formerly of Cleveland, a loving mother, grandmother, and a friend of many, died Friday, April 14, 2006, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.
A native of Bradley County, and a resident of Athens for most of her life, she was a daughter of the late John and Louise Moore Hutton, and was preceded in death by one brother, the Rev. Jim Hutton. A very active member of First Baptist Church of Athens and a former volunteer for Hospice, she was a former dental assistant for Dr. J.J. Nankivell.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Coil Burrell of Athens; one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Doug Lunsford of Kernersville, N.C.; one son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Karen Burrell of Athens; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Joe and Susie Hutton of Athens, and Judy Hutton of Cleveland; six grandchildren, Allison Lunsford, Erin Lunsford, Brian Lunsford, Jon Burrell, Sally Burrell and Will Burrell; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Dr. Carlos Peterson and the Rev. Clyde Cook Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Hutton, Derrick Burrell, Eddie Coffey, Carey Hicks, Alfred Hacker and Jim Harrison.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Kelvin Kent Millsaps
Kelvin Kent Millsaps, 25, of Englewood, died Friday evening, April 14, 2006, the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
A native and resident of McMinn County for most of his life, he was a member of Macedonia Church of Christ and was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ida Lou and Giles Buchanan; and his paternal grandparents, Skiver and Hollis Millsaps.
Survivors include his mother, Betty Millsaps of Englewood; his father, Joe Millsaps of Etowah; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and April Millsaps, Scott and Wendy Millsaps and Keith and Lynette Millsaps, all of Tellico Plains; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday at Macedonia Church of Christ with Minister Pat Wilson and the Rev. B.J. Wall officiating. Burial followed in the Macedonia Church of Christ Cemetery.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Bordwine Funeral Home.

Everette B. “E.B.” “Bink” Parks
Everette B. “E.B.” “Bink” Parks, 88, of Athens, died Friday, April 14, 2006, at Etowah Health Care Center.
A native of Anderson County, and a resident of Athens for the past 49 years, he was a son of the late Floyd Issiah and Mollie Davis Parks, and was married to the late Beulah “Boots” Parks. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy Meagher; and three sisters, Edna Miller, Verla May Parks and Pauline Morris. He was the former owner and operator of the Athens Electric & Plumbing Company, was a former employee of Rice Electric Company and was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of Meridian Sun Lodge No. 50 F&AM, Scottish Rite, Alhambra Shrine, a former member of the Alhambra Motor Patrol and the Jesters. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army as a first sergeant, and was a member of the VFW Post No. 5146.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherrie Parks and Larry Jenkins of Athens, and Linda Lou and William C. Garner of Cleveland; one sister, Thelma Sharpe of Lake City; six grandchildren and spouses, Lisa Jenkins and Chris Cochran, Kevin Grant and Kim Jenkins, Pamela Ingram, William H. Garner, Deborah Hicks, William Garner and Vicki and Doug Rayfield; eight great-grandchildren, Dylan, Kaleb, Breyanna, Heather, Jeremy, Aaron, Amanda and Andrew; four great-great-grandchildren; a special friend, Georgeanna Kelsey; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Creasman officiating. A Masonic service by Meridian Sun Lodge No. 50 F&AM will follow the service. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at McMinn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Jenkins, Chris Cochran, Jimmy Miller, Michael Sharpe, Terry Sharpe, Bobby Morris, Dylan Cochran and Kaleb Jenkins.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Ruby Belk Bryan
Ruby Belk Bryan, 83, of Athens, and formerly of Charleston, died Saturday, April 15, 2006, at NHC Health Care of Athens.
A native of McMinn County, and a resident of Charleston for most of her life, she was a daughter of the late Grover and Myrtle Sherlin Belk. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, L.C. Bryan, on Feb. 5, 2005; two sisters, Elizabeth Wade and Vesta Burke-Oesterreich; and two brothers, Grover C. Belk Jr. and Wrondel R. “Runt” Belk. She was of the Protestant faith, and was a former employee of IGA Grocery Store in Charleston, the Bowater Paper Company cafeteria and Guffey´s Market in Athens. She taught school at Rocky Mount School and Mouse Creek Elementary School.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Bryan of Riceville; one sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Charlie Wilson of Athens; three brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law, Imogene Belk of Athens, Willis and Evelyn Bryan and Hugh and Ruth Bryan, all of Calhoun, and James “Jimmy” and Elizabeth Bryan of Charleston; special nephew, Robert “Bob: Wilson; special niece, Dorothy Cowart; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Oran Creasman officiating. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Calhoun Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Nick Wade, Ricky Belk, Steve Belk, Don Cowart, Gene Belk and Don Burke.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
