GORDON - Doug Long, 27, died Saturday, May 12, 2001, in Bosque County in an automobile accident along with two step-daughters, Taylor Jo and Destiny Nicole Venable. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at New Gordon Cemetery with Rev. Bryan Crittendon officiating. Survivors include his wife, Connie; his father, Delwin Long of Gordon; step-mother, Connie Long of Huckabay; mother, Brenda Gardner of Borger; three brothers, Dustin Long of Huckabay, Blade Long of Mingus and Jason Gardner; one sister, Brandy Gardner, both of Borger; grandparents, Leon and Bobbie Griffin of Stephenville, Dub and Marjorie Long and Patsy Simpson, all of Borger, and great-grandparents, James and Dorothy Aikins of Borger.

Nim Walker Free
Nim Walker Free, 77, died Monday, May 14, in Amarillo.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church Garden Room with Rev. Jim Terry, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include his wife, Martha Free of the home; two sons, Michael Free of Borger and David Free of Austin; one daughter, Laura McKinney of Borger; three brothers, William Free of Wister, Okla., Bobby Free of Poteau, Okla., and Tommy Free of Torrance, Calif.; two sisters, Louise Hornbuckle and Jeanne Ballew of Wister, Okla. and three grandchildren.

Della Fay Chambless Baker, 72, died Wednesday, May 16, 2001, in Borger. Services are pending with Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include her husband, R.L. Baker of the home; two sons, Casey Baker of Porter and Stacy "Bud" Baker of Borger; one daughter, Cecillia "Sis" Harvey of Borger; two brothers, Carl V. "Chief" Chambless of Bandera and Charley Chambless of Littleton, Colo.; one sister, Pearl Trumbley of Geary, Okla.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Frederick E. "Gene" Wilson
Frederick E. "Gene" Wilson, 91, died Thursday, May 17, 2001, in Amarillo Nursing Center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Fairlanes Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Chaddick, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors.
Survivors include two sons, James Wilson of Amarillo and Ed Wilson of Haddon Heights, N.J.; one grandchild, Jennifer Scherkenback of Scottsdale, Ariz. and three great-grandchildren.

Arthur W. "Bill" Morgan
Arthur W. "Bill" Morgan, 88, of Borger, died Thursday, May 17, 2001, at Baptist-St. Anthony Hospice in Amarillo. Services were at 2 p.m. Friday at Westlawn Cemetery with Rev. Roger Harwerth, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Brown Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Helen; one son, James Morgan and wife, Suzanne Norman Morgan of Naples, Fla.; one brother, Jim Morgan of Bartlesville, Okla.; one sister, Martha Jane Hussey of Overland Park, Kan.; four grandchildren, Brian Gregory Morgan of Baton Rouge, La., Melanie Grace Lee of Orlando, Fla., Melissa Marie Stocker of Buoach, Switzerland and Stephanie Ann Warnke of Arlington and nine great-grandchildren.

Vina Ruth "VanKirk" Vi Buchholz, 64, died Thursday, May 17, 2001, in Borger. Services are pending with Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include her husband, W.E. "Harpo" Buchholz of the home; three sons, Travis Buchholz of Borger, Roger Buchholz of Amarillo and James Buchholz of Tulsa, Okla.; one step-son, Robert Bucholz of North Carolina; one step-daughter, Lola Zunker of San Antonio; and two sisters, Velma Moon of Fritch and June Sanders of Amarillo.

Survivors include his wife, Inez Petty of the home; two sons, Mike and Carol Petty and Tim and Cara Petty all of Borger; four daughters, Dale and Marcella Hightown of Childress, Bob and Linda Kittell, Paul and Nancy Marshall and Randy and Tammy Gressett, all of Borger; three step-brothers, Thurman Thornton of Ruston, La., Leon Thornton of Weatherford, Texas, and Elvie Thornton of Marshall, Okla.; one sister, Sylvia Robertson of Marshall, Okla.; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Brannon of Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Teneecia Brannon of Fresno, Calif. and Sarina Brannon of Los Angeles, Calif.; his father, B.C. Brannon and step-mother, JoNell, of Borger; his mother, Vera Brannon of Portland, Ore.; nine brothers, Bobby and Robert Brannon, both of Portland, Ore., Robin Brannon of Borger, Larry McKelvy of Plainview, Donnie McKelvy of Muleshoe, Frank, Richard, Kenny, and Scott McKelvy all of Kress; six sisters, Wanda Hancox of Louisville; Bertha Taylor and Darlene McKelvy both of Dallas, Sharon Jackson of Plainview, Angela Shaffer of Gatesville and Rhonda Wilson of Amarillo.

PANHANDLE - Janette "Juno" Meaker, 80, died Monday, May 21, 2001, in Amarillo. Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Panhandle. Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Panhandle with Father Jim Hutzler, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. Survivors include her husband, Lee Roy Meaker of the home; one son, James Meaker of Panhandle; one brother, Johnny Gurka of Brenham; one sister, Louise Lacina of Brenham; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Anastasia Nicole and Brittney Nichelle Warren
Anastasia Nicole and Brittney Nichelle Warren, infant twin daughters of James and Kimberly (Pettit) Warren, died Friday, May 18, 2001, in Amarillo. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stinnett Cemetery with Rev. Terry Corbett, pastor of Christian Fellowship Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Survivors include their parents, James and Kimberly Warren of the home; one brother, James Arthur Warren IV of the home; grandparents, Wade and Linda Pettit, Rocky and Shela Skidmore and James and Sandra Warren, all of Borger; Great-grandparents, Ralph and Selma Wagner of Stinnett, Roy and Mary VanLoon and Wanda and Bill Skidmore, all of Borger; great-grandmother, Irene Johns; great-great-grandmother, Evelyn Lea, both of Borger and great-great-grandfather, Loren Ballanger of Rushville, Ill.

Cremation is under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors. Survivors include his wife, Sharon; one son, John Claude Kellogg of the home; two daughters, Shelly Guerra of Amarillo and Shawna Kellogg of the home; one brother, Del Kellogg of Amarillo; one step-brother, Marvin Henderson of Stinnett; one sister, Ellen Simmons of Ft. Worth; one step-sister, Mignon Hudson of Bridgeport and one grandchild.
