Nina Beason Skibinski, 90, died Thursday, May 10, 2001, in Borger Health Care Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Brown’s Chapel of the Fountains. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include two sons, Benjamin Beason and L.D. Beason both of Texas; five daughters, Julia Boothe and June Ellen Kardokus, both of Texas, Betty Lea Cottrell and Beverly Jeane Wilburn, both of California, and Iris May Schweitzer of Arizona; one sister, Marie Dehn of Minnesota; 24 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Syble Manes Bennett
FRITCH - Syble Manes Bennett, 86, died Sunday, May 6, 2001, in Borger Healthcare Center. Services are pending with Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include two daughters, Jimmie Goodenough of Gainesville and Marion Brown of Las Cruces, N.M.; one brother, Weldon Spinks of Childress; one sister, Betty Black of Groom; four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Jay Assiter
DUNCAN - Jay Assiter, 63, died Thursday, May 3, 2001, in Duncan. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tracy L. Wilson, officiating. Survivors include his wife, Sonja of the home; one daughter, Monica Bell of Duncan and three grandchildren.

Sara Leota Hodges Scott
STINNETT - Sara Leota Hodges Scott, 93, Hutchinson County pioneer, died Tuesday, May 8, 2001, in North Plains Care Center in Borger. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Frist Christian Church in Stinnett with Rev. Billy Holland, pastor, officiating and Junior Sparks assisting. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Stinnett under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include one son, Gene Scott of Amarillo; five daughters, Thelma "Doolie" Snow of Sevierville, Tenn., Billie June Wilson of Austin, Mary Avis Smith of Weatherford, Audrey Belle Taylor of Stinnett and Dovie Barrett of Amarillo; one brother, John Hodges of Lampasas; one sister, Inez Clark of Georgetown, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren .

Juanita Burse
Juanita Burse, 50, died Tuesday, May 8, 2001, in Amarillo. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with Pastor Howard Romaine and Rev. M. Waddel officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include her husband, Daniel Burse of Borger; daughters, Danyale Burse of Borger and Evangela Burse of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one son, Robert Burse of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Willie McCambell of Houston and Elizabeth Carter of Albuquerque, N.M.; three brothers, Alfred Jackson III of Oklahoma City, Okla., Michael Jackson of Las Vegas, Nev. and Tracy Taylor of Oklahoma City, Okla. and four grandchildren.

Robert E. "Bob" Dollinger
BEDFORD - Robert E. "Bob" Dollinger, 79, died Monday, April 9, 2001, in Bedford. Rosary was at 7:30 p.m. the following Monday at St. John’s the Apostle Catholic Church. Services were held April 10 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church with burial in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in the Veterans Memorial Garden. Survivors include his wife, Isabelle of Bedford; two sons, Ken Dollinger of McMinnville, Ore., Gerald Dollinger of DeSoto; one daughter, Mary Alcorn of Fort Hancock; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Lula B. Fowler
MCKINNEY - Lula B. Fowler, 94, died May 7, 2001, in McKinney. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Lee Cemetery in Winnsboro. Survivors include two nieces and two nephews.

Verlon D. Brown
Verlon D. Brown, 65, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, in Neosho, Mo. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fairlanes Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Chaddick, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in "The Garden of Beatitudes" at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include his wife, Myrna Brown of the home; one son, Vance Brown of Borger; one step-son, Brain Whitmire of Neosho, Mo.; one daughter, Vickie Brown of Borger; two step-daughters, Cathy Jordan of Godoman, Mo., and Cindy Daughterty of Neosho, Mo.; one brother, Clinton Brown of Santee, Calif.; one sister, Claudia Hart of Brownwood; two grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and several great step-grandchildren.

Joe F. Yohn
TYLER - Joe F. Yohn, 19, formerly of Lamar County, died Thursday, May 31, 2001. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church of Deport with Rev. C.G. Renfro officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery at Deport under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. Survivors include his father, Timmy F. Yohn of Messer, Okla.; his mother, Beverly Gibson and his step-father, Kirki, of Pattonville; a brother, Jacob Alan Yohn of Messer, Okla.; two sisters, Kelly Ann Yohn and Lora LeAnn Gibson, both of Pattonville; his grandparents, John and Sue Young of Borger, Gerald Mayberry of Stinnett, Dick and Dorothy O’Gormon of Sun Ray and G.G. and Helen Gibson of Pattonville.

Bobby Paul Yeager
Bobby Paul Yeager, 64, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, in Clinton. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dale Nease officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park at 4 p.m. under the direction of Stanley-Lee Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Narbara Yeager of the home; one daughter, Gaylene Ayers of Arapaho; two sons, Scott Yeager of Newcastle and Stewart Yeager of Clinton; two sisters, Sue Pipkin of Strausburg, Colo., and Beck Murley of Fritch; one brother, Billy Yeager and five grandchildren.
Masons should meet at 3:30 p.m. at Westlawn Memorial Park on Saturday.

Bobby B. Smith, 63, died Monday, June 4, 2001, in Amarillo. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Abundant Life Fellowship Church with Vince Inman, pastor, officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include his wife, Shearolyn of the home; four sons, John Smith, Mark Smith both of Sweetwater, Kenny Smith of Fritch and Bobby Smith of Borger; two daughters, Carol Burland of Borger and Cheryl Smith of Borger; his mother, Lillian Smith of Winters; two sisters, Pat Newsome of Winters and Debbie Mars of Borger; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Gene Sewell, 76, died Saturday, June 2, 2001, in Wellington. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Fairlanes Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Chaddick, pastor, officiating and Dr. Don Sewell assisting. Interment will be in "The Garden of Devotion" at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include his wife, Lois Sewell of the home; one son, Don Sewell of South Lake; one daughter, Gayle White of Borger; two brothers, Walter Sewell and David Sewell both of Cordell, Okla.; one sister, Betty Rhodes of Weatherford, Okla., and seven grandchildren.

Brenda Lynette Ross
AMARILLO - Brenda Lynette Ross, 45, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, in Amarillo. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Panhandle with Rev. Jim Perkins, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. Survivors include her parents, Darrell and Wanda Simmons of Panhandle; one son, Curtis Ray Ross of Mesquite and two daughters, Nivea Marie Ross and Lydia Ka Ross both of Mesquite.
