FRITCH – Jack Dean Depew, 45, died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, in Fritch. No services will be held at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. Survivors include his wife, Linda Depew of the home; two sons, Jimmy Brew of Fritch and Doug Bumgarner of Borger; two brothers, Don F. Depew, Jr. of Fritch and John Depew of Amarillo and three grandchildren.

Reba Dale Laster Kelly
SHAWNEE, Okla. – Reba Dale Laster Kelly, 78, died Saturday, July 28, 2001. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel in Shawnee, Okla. Burial will be in Tecumseh City Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Raymond Kelly of the home; three sons, Jerry and Annie Laster of Tecumseh, Okla., Jim Kelly and Johnny Laster both of Shawnee, Okla.; four daughters, Louise Franks of Amarillo, Ruby and Farley Redfield, Cindy Kelly both of Tecumseh, Okla. and Velena and Scott Strudgeon of Moore, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

James W. Brister
James W. Brister, 79, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, in Borger. Services are pending with Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include his wife, Lois Brister of the home; four sons, Samuel Brister, James Brister and Jerry Brister all of Durant, Okla., and W.J. Brister of San Antonio; one step-daughter, Valerie Martin of Breckenridge; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

D.A. "Hap" Watson
GROOM – D.A. "Hap" Watson, 80, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, in Amarillo. Services will be held at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Groom Saturday with Rev. Bryan Knowles of Clarendon officiating. Interment will be in the Groom Cementery under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. Survivors include his wife, Vernie Watson of the home; one son, Mike Watson of Claude; three daughters, Lynne James of Happy, Jocelyn Hopkins and Shelly Watson both of Amarillo; two sisters, Jerrie Bolles of Plainview and Lela Lester of Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Wauline Tollett
SAN ANTONIO – Wauline Tollett, 85, died Monday, August 13, 2001, in San Antonio. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Church of Christ at Borger with Mr. Stan Mitchell, minister, officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. in Rowe Cemetery in Hedley under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include three sons, Allen Tollett of Houston, Jimmy Tollett of Plainview and Jeffry Tollett of San Antonio; one sister, Ione Barrow of Tyler; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mattie M. Stottlemyre
Mattie M. Stottlemyre, 80, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001, in Amarillo. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in "The Field of Honor" at Westlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Ron Ellington, pastor of Trinity Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include her son, Danny Stottlemyre of Borger; two daughters, Janice Scroggins of Clinton, Okla., and Janet Keeton of Springdale, Ark.; one sister, Vera Laman of Atoka, Okla., six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Ron Partain
Ron Partain, 56, died Monday, August 13, 2001, in his home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Brown’s Chapel of the Fountain with Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include his wife, Kathy; three sons, Ronald Partain, Jr. and Charles Partain both of Springfield, Mo., and Troy Shores of Houston; two daughters, Sherrie Partain of Amarillo and Alice Brown of Killeen; one brother, Fred Partain of Borger; one sister, Trudy Lundahl of Pueblo, Colo., and seven grandchildren.

Tommy Lynn Lewis, Sr.
STINNETT – Tommy Lynn Lewis, Sr., 57, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, one and a half miles south of Stinnett on highway 136. Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church in Stinnett with Rev. J.D. Young, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Stinnett under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include his wife, Margie of the home; one son, Tommy Lynn Lewis, Jr., of Stinnett; one daughter, Tammy Young of Stinnett; two brothers, Billy Lewis of Huntsville, Ark., and Jerry Lewis of Stinnett; one sister, Ethel Griffin of Borger; his parents, Raymond and Mildred Lewis of Stinnett and one grandchild.

Clara Rose "Sue" Houck
GUYMON, Okla. – Clara Rose "Sue" Houck, 67, died Saturday, August 11, 2001, in Memorial Hospital of Texas County. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Victory Memorial United Methodist Church with Mike Chaffin, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery under the direction of Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon. Survivors include five daughters, Mary Buchanan of Evans, Colo., Kim Leighnor of Guymon, Okla., Jinda Rice of Borger, Charlotte Manderville of Guymon, Okla. and Tresa Schneider of Houston; three sons, Eddie Van Dyke of Guymon, Randy Van Dyke of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Johnny Houck of Guymon, Okla.; two sisters, Birdie Walker of Keyes, Okla. and Mary Sturman of Saldotna, Ala.; two brothers, Bud Ritter of Guymon and Jack Ritter of Rock Springs, Wyo.; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren

Peter V. "Pete" Gutierrez
PAMPA – Peter V. "Pete" Gutierrez, 46, died Tuesday, August 14, 2001, in Lubbock. Vigil services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial chapel, and funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev. John Valdez, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie of the home; two daughters, Lee Ann Wilson of Pampa and Misty Brittain of Pampa; his father, Jose Gutierrez of Canadian; seven brothers, Joe Gutierrez and Bobby Gutierrez, both of Canadian, Jim Gutierrez and Thomas Gutierrez, both of Amarillo and Frank Gutierrez of Japan; four sisters, Dolores Cabrera and Amelia Gutierrez, both of Hurst, Juliana Gutierrez of Austin and Martha Wilson of Guam and three grandchildren.

Frances Elizabeth Fanshier, 74, died Tuesday, August 14, 2001, in Borger. Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Borger Church of God with Rev. Dennis Knight of Beaumont, officiating and Mr. Jack Miller, assisting. Interment was in "The Garden of Devotion" in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include two sons, Larry Fanshier of Borger and LeRoy Fanshier of Wichita, Kan.; one daughter, Lucille Dow of Borger; one brother, Walter Sowders of Elk City, Okla.; two sisters, Alice Martin of Elk City, Okla., and Delores Atchley of Lawton, Okla.; five granchildren and one great-grandchild.

McDonald "Don" LeRoy Barngrover
McDonald "Don" LeRoy Barngrover, 82, died Sunday, August 12, 2001, in Borger. Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in "The Garden of Devotion" at Highland Park Cemetery with Rev. Survivors include his wife, Eileen Barngrover of the home; one son, Melvin Barngrover of Kansas; four daughters, Nevilla Ownbey of Hurst, Gwen Parraz of Tucson, Ariz., Carolyn Ellis of Austin and Beulah Hampton of Ft. Worth; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Opal Wiseman, 92, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001, in Borger. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Sudan with Rev. Robert Roecker, pastor and Rev. Paul Anderson, Keeler Baptist Church. Burial will be in Littlefield Memorial Cemetery in Littlefield under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include three sons, Carroll Wiseman of Borger, Richard Wiseman of Mesa, Ariz. and Denzel Wiseman of Las Vegas, Nev.; one daughter, Lecia Ottajean "Jeannie" Reynolds of Ft. Worth; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Nancy R. Winkles
ANSON – Nancy R. Winkles, 65, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001, in Dallas. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Wood officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home. Survivors include her husband, L.R. "Shorty" Winkles, Jr. of Anson; one son, Ray Winkles of Wichita Falls; two daughters, Rebecca Garcia of Abilene and Jeanie Winkles of Anson; one brother, Bill Rittenhouse of Austin; two sisters, Alice Scully of Anson and Ann Alexander of Idaho Falls, Idaho and two grandchildren.

F.R. "Rusty" Nichols, 74, died Tuesday, August 14, 2001, in Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospice in Amarillo. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Friday at Albany Cemetery in Albany with Jim Cox of Breckenridge Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include his wife, Billie, one son, Kelly Nichols of Borger; two daughters, Sherry Hans of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Kathy Chapman of Burbank, Okla.; one brother, Wayne Nichols of Abilene; one sister, Rose Huskins of Breckenridge; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Wilda Faye Gray
CLARENDON – Wilda Faye Gray, 80, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001, in Houston. Services were held at Robertson Funeral Home in Clarendon at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Clarendon Cemetery under the direction of Robertson Funeral Home. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Gray Gonzalez and Wilda Gordon; one son, Harold Gray; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mildred Beals, 92, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001, in Amarillo. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Doug Koehler, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors of Borger.
