VIDOR Connie Gayle Welch, 61, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Del Rose Cemetery in Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, Inc.
Survivors include her father, John Potts of Enterprise, Ala.; her husband, Jim Welch of Vidor; four sons, Jack Welch of Nederland, Rick Welch of Amarillo, Allen Welch of Bridge City and Shane Welch of Saratoga; one daughter, Kathy Plunkett of Vidor; four brothers, Steven Ford of San Marcus, Larry Potts of Enterprise, Ala., Don Ford of Fort Worth and Max Ford of Clovis, N.M; two sisters, Jo Jones of Fort Stockton and Cindy Free of Enterprise, Ala.; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Ralph M. Rountree, 84, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, in Borger. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include two sons, Ralph Rountree of Orlando, Fla., and James Rountree of Foster City, Calif.; one brother, Raymond Rountree of Borger; three sisters, Bettie Smith, Marie Lewis both of Borger and Carolyn Hoskins of Pampa and three grandchildren.

Floyd Elting Newton, 94, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001, at Elkview General Hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Assembly of God Church in Hobart, Okla. His sons and grandsons will be officiating. Burial will be in Lone Wolf Cemetery under the direction of Peoples Cooperative Funeral Home in Lone Wolf, Okla. Survivors include four sons, Grant Newton of Frederick, Okla., Dale Newton of Hobart, Okla., Rev. Curtis Newton of Lawton, Okla., and Rev. Calvin Newton of Borger; one daughter, Vada Everhart of Lone Wolf, Okla.; one brother, Rev. J.W. Newton of Carlsbad, N.M.; 24 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

An additional memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Central Church of Christ in Amarillo. Survivors include his wife, Ann Wells of Euless; two sisters, Betty Womble of Morse and Scout Bergner of Grapevine; two daughters, Sheli Johnson of Grapevine and Robin Dye of The Woodlands, his mother and stepfather, Lucile and Roy Oakley of Amarillo and four grandchildren.
