DURANT, Okla. – Elwin James Grimes, 84, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001. Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Coffey Memorial Chapel in Durant, Okla. Burial was in Rosewood Cemetery in Achille, Okla. under the direction of Coffey Funeral Home in Durant, Okla. Survivors include his wife, Pauline of Amarillo; one son, Dr. Gary Grimes and his wife, Nancy of Wichita Falls; one grandson, Gant Grimes and his wife, Courtney of Arlington; one granddaughter, Reagan Grimes of Sacramento, Calif.; one brother, Lonnie Grimes and his wife, Nancy of Amarillo; two sisters, Medrith Grimes and Joyce Ladd and her husband C.B. Ladd of Bennington, Okla.

Carl Christian Luginbyhl
BETHANY, Okla. – Carl Christian Luginbyhl, 90, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, in Bethany, Okla.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene in Bethany, Okla. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Luginbyhl of the home; two daughters, Myra Schubert of Bethany, Okla., and Rosa McCroskey of Indonesia; one brother, Robert Luginbyhl of Borger and one sister, Carolyn Glover of Tucson, Ariz.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Roger C. Holcomb
BREMOND – Roger C. Holcomb, 76, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, in Conroe Regional Hospital.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Bremond with Bro. Stan Ortner, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Bremond Cemetery in Campbell at 3 p.m. Survivors include two sons, Roger Holcomb of Calvert and Jeffrey Holcomb of Conroe; daughter and son-in-law, Lauren and Dennis Creer of Conroe; three brothers, James Holcomb of Pampa, Billy Holcomb of Norfolk, Va. and Kenneth Holcomb of Trinity and three grandchildren.

Lester R. McKenzie
Lester R. McKenzie, 85, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, in Borger. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Panhandle with Rev. Aaron Groff officiating. Burial will be in Pampa at Fairview Cemetery. Survivors include one daughter, Paula (Jody) Grigsby of Abilene; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

James A. Griffin
GORMAN – James A. Griffin, 90, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, in Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Gorman with Rev. Bill Campbell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Home. Survivors include three sons, James Griffin of Columbus, Ms., Mike Griffin of Flower Mound and James Griffin, Jr. of Ft. Worth; one brother, Bill Griffin of Midland; one sister, Hazel Smith of Midland and two grandchildren.

Albert R. "Red" Parrish
FRITCH – Albert R. "Red" Parrish, 71, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, in Amarillo. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Fritch Church of Christ with Mr. Richard Kasko, minister, officiating, and Mr. Brian Boverie, assisting. Interment will be in "The Garden of Love" at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. Survivors include his wife, Pat Parrish of the home; two sons, Marty Parrish of Arlington and Rick Parrish of Amarillo; one brother, Raymond Parrish of Abernathy; three sisters, Lola Lampe of Lubbock, Etola Bunch of Houston and Mary Watson of Idabel, Okla.

Harold Davis Biggs
PANHANDLE – Harold Davis Biggs, 86, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, in Panhandle. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Panhandle with Rev. Kathryn Boren, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. Survivors include his wife, Vivian Biggs of the home; one son, Jerry Biggs of Panhandle; one daughter, Jean Walker of Panhandle; two sisters, Myra Mathias of Arlington, Virginia Pruitt of Odessa; one brother, Jim Biggs of Panhandle; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mary Wagner
COFFEYVILLE, Kan. – Mary Wagner, 90, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Mount Hope Cemetery with Rev. Jim Blocher, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Webb and Rodrick Funeral Home in Independence, Kan. Survivors include one niece, Josephine Willerton of Borger.

Ruby B. Palmer-Klawitter
STOCKTON, Calif. – Ruby B. Palmer-Klawitter, 77, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, in Stockton, Calif.
Services were held Wednesday, Dec. 5, at the Chapel of the Valley Mortuary with Rev. Daryl W. Wilson officiating. Special music was provided by her brother, Richard Hendrickson of Fritch and her nieces, Glenna Amerman of Borger and Mona Fannon of Fritch. Interment was in the Lone Tree Cemetery in Hayward, Calif. Survivors include her son, Gary Morris and daughter-in-law, Shirley of Pleasanton, Calif.; two grandsons, David and Jason Morris and a great-grandson, Shane Morris of California; her brothers, Richard Hendrickson of Fritch, Jack Tabor of Perryton, Ron Tabor of Portland, Ore.; a sister, Geneva Hadaller of Onalaska, Wash. and ten nieces and nephews, including Glenna Amerman of Borger, Danny Hendrickson of Abilene and Monna Fannon of Fritch.

Rev. J.H. Blakemore
Rev. J.H. Blakemore, 79, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, in BSA Hospital in Amarillo. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Greater Ideal Baptist Church in Midland with Rev. George A. Bell, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Midland entrusted to the care of Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include three sons, John Blakemore of Borger, Eddie Blakemore of Houston and Michael Blakemore of Katy; one daughter, Glenda Gates of San Angelo; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

H.F. Busby
FRITCH – H. F. Busby, 87, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001. Services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Amarillo with Rev. Carl Thovell and Rev. Dick Marcer, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Zola of the home; two sons, Dwayne Busby and wife Jerrie of Amarillo and Dale and Phyllis Busby of Fritch; three grandchildren, James Busby and wife Lisa of Amarillo and Katy of Fritch; Brent Busby Warner of Amarillo; two great-grandchildren; three nieces, Yvonne Kale, LaVerne Craddock of Amarillo and Jean Earhart of Duncanville and one nephew, Ray Busby of Sequin.

Beulah Elizabeth "Boots" Golladay
Beulah Elizabeth "Boots" Golladay, 88, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, in Borger. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Stratford Cemetery with Rev. Jim Terry, pastor First United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, in 1970. Survivors include one sister, Elma Bennett of Phoenix, Ariz.

Juanita Hodges
AMARILLO – Juanita Hodges, 75, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, in Amarillo. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Lamount Drive Baptist Church in Amarillo. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Survivors include two sons, John Hodges of Amarillo and Rick Hodges of Dalhart; three daughters, Becky Clark and Janette West of Amarillo and Lanette Rhoades of Arkansas; one brother, Buddy Bishop of Barrington, N.H.; two sisters, Helen Jowers and Shirley Bishop of West Monroe, La.; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Eugene "Duffy" James
Eugene "Duffy" James, 78, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, in Amarillo. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Bunavista Baptist Church with Rev. David Langen, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in "The Garden of Devotion" at Westlawn Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include one daughter, Tina James of Borger.

Lenora Martin
STINNETT – Lenora Martin, 82, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, in Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Stinnett with Rev. John Gran, pastor of First Christian Church in Borger, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Stinnett with arrangements entrusted to Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Survivors include two sons, Charles Martin of Pasadena and Dennis Martin of Graham, Wash.; one daughter, Vicki O’Gorman of Stinnett; one sister, Agnes Minton of Albertville, Ala.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Cora M. Strovas, 88, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, in Amarillo. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with Rev. Gregg Simmons, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in "The Garden of the Beatitudes" at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.Survivors include two sons, Gerald (Jerry) and Jacqui Strovas of Redmond, Wash. and Denny and Carolyn Strovas of Amarillo; one daughter, Fran and Don Braden of Borger and one sister, Josie and Jack Swink of Burbank, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Mike and Joy Braden, Steve and Cindy Braden, Stacie and Keven Hunt, Carissa and Deke Crews, Christopher and KrisLynn Strovas, Shawn Strovas and Scott Strovas and five great-grandchildren, Sabrina Davis, Colt Branden, Chase Branden, Braden Hunt and Ethan Hunt.

Edwin Jeral Werhan
SHAMROCK – Edwin Jeral Werhan, 73, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2001, in Borger. Services were held Saturday in the Church of Christ at Shamrock with Clif Werhan and DeWayne Thomas officiating. Burial was in the Shamrock Cemetery under the direction of Wright Funeral Directors of Shamrock. Survivors include his wife, Donetta of Shamrock; one son, John Werhan of Lindsey, Okla.; two daughters, Lanetta Werhan of Borger and Ileta Bailey of Maryland; one brother, Clif Werhan of Rush Springs, Okla.; three sisters, Laquita Bennett of Shamrock, Uleta Chandler of Sentinel, Okla. and LaVeta Thomas of Shawnee, Okla.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
