Infant twins Benny Ray and Dakota Ray Burns died Sept. 23 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. Survivors include parents Ricky and Jennie Burns of Irving; brother Chase Coby Lally of Irving; grandmothers Lila Burns of Irving and Kathy Leija of Euless; grandfathers Jeff Burns of Irving and Randle Risner of Gainesville; as well as several aunts and uncles, including Josh Burns of Irving. Lena Kathryn Roiz
Lena Kathryn Rois of Irving died Sept. 30. She was 67. Born in Almyra, Ark. Oct. 24, 1929, Mrs. Roiz was a manager for the City of Irving Employee Credit Union for 18 years. She is survived by her daughter Vicki Roiz of Irving; son and daughter-in-law Chris A. and Andrea Roiz of Bedford; sister Francis Benson of Irving; and three grandchildren, Jenifer, Jesse and Travis Roiz, all of Bedford. Mrs. Roiz was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Roiz. Services were held at Oct. 2 at Brown's Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Wallace Philpot officiating. Interment

May Webster
May Webster of Irving died Oct. 1. She was 91. Born in Cottonwood June 6, 1906, Mrs. Webster was a homemaker and a member of 1st Methodist Church of Irving. She is survived by her husband, Tom Webster; brother, Herbert Ellis of Cisco; grandchildren Allen and Saronda Webster; and four great grandchildren. James R. Calvert
James R. "Pap" Calvert of Irving died Oct. 4. He was 70. Born in Terrell Aug. 11, 1927, Mr. Calvert was a Teamster for more than 25 years. He was a member of MacArthur Boulevard Baptist Church and had lived in Irving since 1957. Mr. Calvert is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley Calvert; sons and daughters-in-law James Jr. and Sue Calvert of Colleyville, Paul and Jan Calvert of Irving; daughters and sons-in-law Janis and John Eubanks of Colleyville, Mary and Stephen Humphrey of Grapevine; brother and sister-in-law Clarence and Nina Calvert of High Rolls, N.M.; sister Jean Teutsch of Memphis, Tenn.; mother-in-law Bertha Canipe of Irving; 14 grandchildren; a great grandchild; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Antonia Diaz of Irving died Oct. 3. She was 86. Born in Jovellanos, Cuba July 9, 1911, Mrs. Diaz was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Deudedis Diaz. Juanita Inez Farr of Irving died Oct. 6. She was 67. Born July 7, 1930, Mrs. Farr was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Fritz Farr and brothers Alvin and Jerrie Swindell of Irving; as well as six nieces and nephews. Private family services are planned. Bertha Florine Higbee
Bertha Florine Higbee died in Grand Prairie Oct. 6. She was 55. Born April 30, 1942 in Dallas, Mrs. Higbee was a pet groomer for 35 years, a member of the VFW Womens Auxillary Post 2494 and American Legion Post 424. She is survived by her parents Violet and Wesley Matthews of Lake Whitney; daughter Lisa Rae Gallegos of Grand Prairie; son Roger Craig Higbee of Grand Prairie; brothers Calvin Ray Mathews of Jacksonville, Fl., James David "Buzz" Mathews of Dallas; and one grandaughter. Frances Lindsey
Frances Lindsay of Irving died Oct. 6. She was 81. Born in Dallas Nov. 15, 1915, Mrs. Lindsey was a longtime Irving resident, a charter member of Kirkwood Methodist Church, a U.M.W. member, Order of Eastern Star #777, Daughter of the American Revolution, and a member of the Irving Garden and Arts Club. Preceded in death by her son David Michael Lindsey, Mrs. Lindsey is survived by her husband, E. Martin Lindsey Sr.; son and daughter-in-law E.M. "Marty" and Mary Lindsey of Irving; daughter and son-in-law Ginny and Lynn Peveto of Irving; daughter-in-law Vicki Lindsey of Irving; grandchildren David Martin Lindsey of Houston, Melani Lyn Lindsey, Kristi Lindsey Gonzales, Molly Suzzanne Lindsey, Lindsey Marie Peveto, all of Irving; and five great grandchildren; Alicia Gonzales, Christian Gonzales, Dakotah, Madison and Brigan Lindsey, all of Irving. R.E. Gene Lumpkins
R.E. Gene Lumpkins of Irving died at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas Oct. 6. He was 78. Born Dec. 9, 1918 in Bailey, Mr. Lumpkins was a retired education administrator and former principal of two local schools. He served as assistant principal at MacArthur High School and principal at Schultz Elementary School. He was also a member of Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving, Masonic Lodge Scottish Rite 32 degree, the TSTA, NEA, TASA, TPGA and THGBA. A former resident of San Angelo, Mr. Lumpkins was vice president of the Businessmen's Bible Class in that city. Mr. Lumpkins is survived by his wife Nina Lee Lumpkins; daughter Sandy Hillin of Irving; son and daughter-in-law Fonda and Nell Ann Lumpkins of San Angelo; brothers and sisters-in-law Cliff and Bobbye Lumpkins of Bonham, Jim and Betty Lumpkins of Bells; sisters Mozelle Fowler and Nell Vinson, both of Bonham; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Mr. Lumpkins was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Ethel Lumpkins and brothers Pete and Med Lumpkins. Lucy Matthews
Lucy Matthews of Irving died Oct. 6 of natural causes at Columbia Medical Center in Terrell. She was 93. Born July 23, 1904 in Jacksonville, Mrs. Matthews retired in 1972 after 30 years as the postmaster of Wicket, Texas. She was a member of New Beginnings Fellowship in Irving and a former Rebekah member. Mrs. Matthews is survived by her son and daughter-in-law James H. and Etoyle Lee Wright of Irving; sister Nora Bevan of Tulsa, Okla.; six grandchildren, including Wren and Sheila Whiteseven of Irving; seven great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandchildren Cindy and Walter Wright. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Oct. 9 at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Tim Hall officiating. Interment
