Glen W. Duke of Irving died Aug. 8. He was 69. Born May 12, 1928 in Pittsburg, Mr. Duke was a grocery store manager. He is survived by sister Louise Richardson, sister and brother-in-law Bille and Joe Pierce, all of Irving; two nieces and five nephews. Dorwin Kevin Malone
Dorwin Kevin Malone of Irving died Aug. 8 in Grand Prairie. He was 34. Born in Dallas May 15, 1963, Mr. Malone worked for Mattel Toys. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Malone; parents Vallie and Dorothy Malone; daughter Tiffany Malone of Irving; sons Kevin Malone of Irving, Trae Malone of Dallas; sister Lenise Malone of Dallas; and brother James Vallie Malone Jr. of Atlanta. Paul Mangum
Paul Mangum of Irving died Aug. 10 in Irving Hospital. He was 78. Born in Dallas Aug. 30, 1918, Mr. Mangum had been an Irving resident since 1951. He was a member of First Baptist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army with service during WWII and a retired carpet layer for Sanger Harris department stores. He was preceded in death by his son Larry Mangum. He is survived by his wife Irene Mangum; son Ricky Paul Mangum of Yale, Okla.; three granchildren, Ginger Lee Brumley Melissa Mangum and Amanda Lacey, all of Irving; three step grandchildren, including Kim Jones and Trevor Prather, both of Carrollton and step great grandchildren Lexie, Magie and Matt Jones and Torrie Smith, all of Carrollton. Services were held Aug. 13 at First Baptist Church Sanctuary. Interment

Ruth Ann Poynter
Ruth Ann Poynter of Irving died Aug. 8. She was 63. Born july 27 in South Bend, Ind., Mrs. Poynter was employed as a claims examiner. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Irving. Survivors include her husband, William Poynter; son Randy Poynter of Irving; and grandchildren Gary, Leslie and Ryan Poynter, all of Irving and Brian and Todd Poynter, both of South Bend. Arthur I. Reichart
Arthur I. Reichart died in Fort Worth Aug. 10. He was 92. Born in Kansas City, Kan. Jan. 25, 1905, Mr. Reichart is survived by grandchildren Kenneth Reichart, Susan Mahan, Kimberly McCullough, Allison Clanton and eight great grandchildren. Thomas Vest Statler
Thomas Vest Statler of Irving died Aug. 7. He was 81. Born in Sedgewickville, Mo., July 25, 1916, Mr. Statler was a communication engineer for Motorola. A ham radio operator at age 13, Mr. Statler was a Knights Templer Mason for 55 years, a member of Saint Marks Lodge, Cape Giradeau, Ms., a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII with service in the South Pacific, a 15-year member of Boy Scouts of America, a member of the National Rifle Association an Elder at First Presyterian Church in Irving and a Sunday school teacher in Carmi, Ill. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Estele D. Statler; daughters and sons-in-law Rebecca and Clark Armstrong of Irving, Jane Ellen and Chappell Wilson of Cadiz, Ky.; sons and daughters-in-law Kent and Marilyn Statler of Carrollton, Kirk and Jayne Statler of Grapevine; brother and sister-in-law Mark and Lou Statler of Cleveland, Oh.; and nine grandchildren. James M. Tatum
James M. Tatum of Irving died Aug. 11 at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. He was 45. Born in Dallas Feb. 24, 1952, Mr. Tatum was a plant manager for Humanetics in Carrollton. An avid hunter and sportsman, Mr. Tatum was a graduate of MacArthur High School in Irving. He is survived by daughters Hollie and Jessica Tatum, both of Irving and Shannon Nash of Dallas; sons Jordan James Tatum of Richardson; brother Jack Tatum Jr. of California; sister Frances Young of Richardson; grandchildren Adrian Casa of Irving and Taylor Warren of Dallas; and six nieces and nephews. Robert B. Cantrell of Irving died Aug. 6. He was 67. Born in Kings Mountain, Ky. June 10, 1930, Mr. Cantrell was a lead beater man and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Amos Cleveland Donica
Amos Cleveland Donica died of cancer July 30 in Arlington. He was 76. Born in Gorman March 30, 1921, Mr. Donica was of the Episcopalian faith and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was retired from his position as a bookkeeper for the Royal Business Forms Co. Survivors include niece Peggy Jean Gallagher McNeely of Irving as well as numerous great and great, great nieces and nephews. Mr. Donica donated his body to the Southwest Medical Center in Dallas for scientific research. A marker will be placed along with his ashes at the family plot in Cisco. The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
Jimmy Joe Gibson
Jimmy Joe Gibson of Irving died at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Dallas Aug. 7. He was 58. Born in Catlettsburg, Ky., March 3, 1969, Mr. Gibson is survived by sons Shawn and Jimmy Gibson of Irving, Danny Gibson of Michigan; and daughter Dee Dee Gibson of Michigan. Mayo Freeman, formerly of Irving, died Aug. 6 of natural causes at the Medical Center in Mesquite. He was 67. Born in Ada, Okla., May 17, 1930, Mr. Freeman was a welder and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife June Freeman of Quinlan; five sons; four daughters; two sisters; 17 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Oliver Savage
Oliver "O.J." Savage of Irving died of natural causes at Irving Hospital Aug. 5. He was 60. Born June 23, 1937 in Erath County, Mr. Savage was an inspector for S.W. Machine Shop in Irving for 10 years, a member of Calvary Temple and a 12-year U.S. Navy veteran with service during the Korean War. He is survived by mother and step father, Thelma and Homer Thompson of Palo Pinto; his wife, Dorothy Savage; sons Johnny Williams of Irving, Calvin Savage of California, Tony Williams of Dallas; daughter Cindy Meredith of Arlington; two brothers; three sisters; 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Daniel J. Sullivan Jr.
Daniel J. Sullivan Jr., formerly of Irving, died Aug. 1 in Union Hospital, Terre Haute, Ind. Born in Chicago Dec. 4, 1929, Mr. Sullivan lived in Irving during the 1960s. He served as the Grand Knight of the Irving council of Knights of Columbus and was involved with St. Luke's Catholic Church and Holy Family Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and an executive with CBS Records. He is survived by his wife Gail Gillespie Sullivan of Terre Haute; three daughters; a brother; a sister; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Nellie "Agnes" Thompson of Irving died of natural causes at Irving Hospital Aug. 7. She was 78. Born in Alleene, Ark.
