A.J. Carroll, formerly of Irving, died in Gilmer Aug. 10. He was 88. Born in Shirley, Ark. March 1, 1909, Mr. Carroll is survived by son James Conrad Carroll of Conway, Ark., Franklin D. Carroll of Scurry; daughter Melissa Klink of Gilmer; a brother; six grandchildren and serveral nieces and nephews. Services were held Aug. 13 at Restland Memorial Chapel, Restland Funeral Home, Dallas. Interment at Restland Memorial Park.

Hubert B. Johnson
Hubert B. Johnson of Irving died at Irving Healthcare System Aug. 11. He was 55. Born Jun 4, 1942 in Hugo, Okla., Mr. Johnson was a city employee of the Baptist faith and U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife Reath Johnson; sons Lonnie Jobe of Irving, Johnny Jobe of Vandarvart, Ark.; mother Fannie Crisp of Tulsa, Okla.; brothers Dink Johnson of Irving, Dubert Johnson of Bonham, Wayne Johnson of Atlanta; sisters Joyce Menkie of Hawaii; nephew Kevin Johnson of Irving; and two step brothers. Services were held Aug. 13 at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, McKinney, the Rev. Danny Buster officiating. Interment at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen.

Robert David Kenyon Sr.
Robert David Kenyon Sr. of Irving died Aug. 13 at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. He was 62. Born Nov. 30, 1934 in Midlothian, Mr. Kenyon retired in 1994 after 25 years as a computer specialist for ARCO in Dallas. He was veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces. He is survived by his son Robert Kenyon of Irving; son and daughter-in-law Matthew and Kimberly Kenyon of Irving; brother Kenneth Kenyon of Irving; sisters Jeanine Douglass of Dallas and Kathryn Jentz of San Antonio. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Aug. 16 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, the Rev. Ken Parlin officiating. Arrangements by Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home.

The Rev. Clayton Northcutt
The Rev. Clayton Northcutt of Irving died Aug. 15 in Dallas. He was 49. Born May 30, 1948 in Dallas, the Rev. Northcutt was pastor for First Baptist Church in Las Colinas and a former chaplain for the Irving police department. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served with the 101st Airborne Division in the Vietnam War. The Rev. Northcutt is survived by his wife, Nita Northcutt; his mother Juanita Sheppard of Red Oak; daughter Angela Northcutt of Irving; son Jeremy Northcutt of Irving; sister Ouida Fonteno of Red Oak; brothers Delton Northcutt and Bobby Northcutt, of Red Oak and Irving respectively. Services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Aug. 18 at First Baptist Church, 403 S. Main St. in Irving, the Revs. Bill Jividen and Joe Eaton officiating. Visitation hours are Aug. 17 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. at Brown's Memorial Funeral Home, 707 N. MacArthur Blvd. Interment at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. The family requests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, Las Colinas, Building Fund, 1930 Gateway Dr., Irving, 75038; the Clayton Northcutt Conference Center and Retreat, Beacon Hill Baptist Church, 110 Central Ave., Cheyenne, WY 82007; or the American Cancer Society. Leta Mae Shotwell
Leta Mae Shotwell of Irving died Aug. 15. She was 77. Born Dec. 16, 1919 in Crandall, Mrs. Shotwell was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband Robert Lee Shotwell Sr.; daughters Marcela Allen of Irving, Christene Cayanas of Southlake; sons Robert L. Shotwell Jr. of Mabank, Don Shotwell of Fort Worth, Mike Shotwell of Kilgore; brother Ross Kilgore of Dallas; 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Aug. 16 at Brown's Memorial Chapel, the Rev. Danny Chappell officiating. Interment at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Brown's Memorial Funeral Home.

Evelyn Marie Thomes
Evelyn Marie Thomes of Euless died at her home Aug. 13 of natural causes. She was 81. Born Feb. 17, 1916 in Rock Island, Ill., Mrs. Thomes was a former Irving resident and a member of Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church in Irving. She retired in 1978 from department store retail sales. She is survived by her husband Edwin Thomes; sons Dr. Richard Thomes of Irving, Paul Thomes of Euless, John Thomes of St. Louis, Toby Thomes of Arlington; daughters Pat Jubera of California, Mary Hall of Austin; 23 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Services were held Aug. 15 at the Holy Family of Nazareth Church, the Rev. Jerome Duesman celebrant. Interment at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. The family requests memorials be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 2824 Swiss Ave., Dallas, 75204. Arrangements by Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home.

Richard R. Duckworth Jr.
Richard R. Duckworth Jr. of Irving died at home of natural causes Aug. 17. He was 41. Born Dec. 29, 1955 in Flint, Mich., Mr. Duckworth was a driver for J.B. Hunt. He was a member of Open Arms Fellowship in Irving, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Compass Group in Irving. Mr. Duckworth is survived by his wife, Leah Duckworth of Lewisville; parents Richard R. Duckworth Sr. of Irving and Frances Hubbert of Michigan; daughter Kristy Duckworth of Lewisville; son Sammy Duckworth of Lewisville; three sisters and two brothers. Joe Cullen Dunegan of Irving died Aug. 15. He was 84. Born in Wade, Okla. Sept. 8, 1912, Mr. Dunegan was employed in sheet metal layout and was a member of Faith Temple Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Pauline Dunegan; daughter Rita Hutchinson of Irving; sons Joe D. Dunegan of Atlanta, Jack W. Dunegan of Irving; son and daughter-in-law Donald and Elizabeth Dunegan of Grand Prairie; brother C.B. Dunegan of Kingsville; nine grandchildren and 11 grandchildren. Services were held Aug. 18 at Brown's Memorial Funeral Home, the Rev. H.H. Frost officiating. Interment at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.

Twin infant sisters, two hours old, died at Irving Hospital Aug. 17. Survivors include parents Charles F. and Valerie McCarter Jones III of Irving. Interment at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Buena Vista, Ga. Arrangements by Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home.

Billy Gene House
Billy Gene "Midge" House of Irving died Aug. 16. He was 59. Born in Paducah, Ky. Nov. 23, 1937, Mr. House was a retired U.S. Air Force master sergeant. He was a member of Oak View Baptist Church, president of the Irving Umpires League and was inducted into the National Softball Hall of Fame as an umpire in 1991. Mr. House is survived by his wife of 40 years, Bonita House; son Carl G. House of Irving; son and daughter-in-law Bobby and Tammy House of Irving; sister Virginia Engleberg of Rockville, Md.; brother Roy House of Metropolis, Ill.; and grandson Aaron House. He was preceded in death by his son Richard A. House and his brother Fred House. Services were held Aug. 18 at Oak View Baptist Church, the Rev. Wallace Philpot officiating. Bobby Doyle McGraw of Irving died at home Aug. 16. He was 36. A 36-year resident of Irving, Mr. McGraw was born May 22, 1933 in Barry. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Anita McGraw; seven children, James, Bobby, Emily, Virginia, Willy, Joseph, Nancy; nine grandchildren; seven sons-and daughters-in-law; sister Jane Ryan and three brothers, Alton, Donald and Thurman McGraw. Services were held Aug. 20 at Plymouth Park United Methodist Church, Dr. Dan Hoke officiating. Interment at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. G.C. Morris
G.C. Morris of Austin died Aug. 17. He was 85. Born in Van Alstyne, Mr. Morris was a former member of the Texas House of Representatives and Senate who authored the Omnibus Tax Bill of 1941. He was a member of Tarrytown United Methodist Church in Austin and taught Sunday school for 40 years in a class now named in his honor. Mr. Morris is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy McClurg Morris; daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Larry Stephens of Irving; as well as grandchildren Michael and Rachel. He was preceded in death by his son George. Services were held Aug. 20 at Tarrytown United Methodist Church, Dr. James L. Mayfield officiating. Interment at Texas State Cemetery. The family requests memorials be made to Tarrytown United Methodist Church or a charity of choice. Arrangements by Wee-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, Austin.

Harry Wallace Newton
Harry Wallace Newton of Irving died Aug. 18 at Parkland Hospital, Dallas. Arrangements are pending with Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home.

Rosetta Reaves
Rosetta Reaves of Irving died Aug. 16 at Irving Hospital. She was 90. An Irving resident since 1925, Mrs. Reaves was born May 13, 1907 in Dallas. She was a member of Bibleway Chapel Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Johnnie Lindsley Reaves Sr. and her son Charles Ray Reaves. Mrs. Reaves is survived by her brother Thomas Irving Murphy of Irving; daughters Dorothy Louise Brazier of Irving, Naomi Ruth Day of Irving, Rose Marie Mills of Farris; sons John Lewis Reaves Jr. of Mesquite, Thomas David Reaves of Garland; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and two great, great grandchildren. Services were held Aug. 19 at Bibleway Chapel Church, the Rev. Wayne Landers officiating. Interment at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Chism and Smith Funeral Home.

Dorothy Wilna Sells
Dorothy Wilna Sells of Granbury died in that city Aug. 17. She was 78. Born March 10, 1919 in Midlothian, Mrs. Sells was a retired vice president of Southwest Bank and Trust in Irving, a member of Seroptist Club in Irving and a member of Pecan Plantation Country Club in Granbury. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Finis M. Sells, in 1993. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Aug. 21 at Laurel Land Burleson Memorial Chapel, Burleson. Interment at Prairie Springs Cemetery, Burleson. Arrangements by Laurel Land Funeral Home of Burleson.

Boyd Simmons
Boyd Simmons of Irving died Aug. 16 in a local nursing home. He was 90. Born in Paris, Texas Aug. 31, 1906, Mr. Simmons had lived in Irving for more than 20 years. He was an electrician, retired from Malone Electric in Paris after more than 20 years of service. He was a deacon at both Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving and east Paris Baptist Church in Paris, and also a member of North Irving Baptist Church. Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife, Dixie Simmons of Irving; sons Houston "Cliff" Simmons of Irving, George Simmons of Calif., sister Gladys Jackson of Dallas; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Services were held Aug. 19 at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home, the Rev. Ken Branam officiating. Interment at Restland Memorial Park, Dallas.

James Howard Yeager
James Howard "Red" Yeager of Irving died Aug. 17 of natural causes at home. He was 69. Born in Marlin Dec. 11, 1927, Mr. Yeager was a funeral director in Dallas County for more than 40 years, including service with Hughes Funeral Home in Dallas and Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home in Irving. He was a graduate of the Dallas Institute of Funeral Services, 1948. Mr. Yeager is survived by his wife, Mary Yeager of Irving; daughter Nancy Yeager of Irving; son and daughter-in-law Joe and Debbie Yeager of Coppell; sister Hettie Pearl Garcia of Marlin; three grandchildren; one great grandchild and an aunt. Services were held Aug. 20 at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, Art McNeese and Mrs. Jimmy Pitchford officiating. Interment at Hillcrest Cemetery, Marlin.
