Eileen Ester Blount of Irving died in Seagoville Dec. 9. She was 54. Born in New York City Oct. 17, 1943, Mrs. Blount was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Chuck Blount; daughters JoAnn McWilliams of Irving, Connie Watkins of Dallas; son Marvin C. Blount; brother Jackie Siegel of Miami Beach, Fl.; and grandson Chad Ray McWilliams of Irving. Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Dec. 15 at Brown's Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Naida Wadsworth English
Naida Wadsworth English died Dec. 9. She was 87. Born in Dallas June 15, 1910, Mrs. English had been an active member of the community since 1932. A charter member of the Irving Hospital Auxiliary, Mrs. English was also a charter member and president of the Irving Garden and Arts Center, a president of the the Irving Garden Club, a member of the Irving Book Review Club, the Irving Heritage Society and a sponsor of the Irving Woman's Club. She had been a member of the First Presbyterian Church for 60 years. Mrs. English is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Neill Jr. and Dorothy English of Irving; brother Dick Wadsworth of Irving; three sisters-in-law; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Dec. 12 at First Presbyterian Church, the Rev. David Johnson officiating. A private burial service is scheduled for Sparkman-Hillcrest/Northwest Highway. The family will receive friends at the home of Neill English Jr. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Irving Healthcare System Foundation, the Irving Healthcare System Auxiliary, or a charity of choice. Patricia Marshall
Patricia "Pat" Marshall of Irving died at her home of natural causes Dec. 9. She was 55. Born Feb. 21, 1942 in San Antonio, Mrs. Marshall was a supervisor for five years with First American Real Estate Tax Service, Inc. in Dallas and a member of Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving. She is survived by her husband, David Marshall; mother Lucille Perry of San Antonio; sons Michael L. Marshall of Irving, John L. Marshall of Nashville, Tenn.; sister Susan Perry of Carrollton; and brothers Randy Perry of Beaverton, Ore. and Will Perry of San Antonio. Jesse E. Nutt
Jesse E. Nutt of Grand Prairie died at Irving Hospital of natural causes Dec. 7. He was 83. Born Aug. 20, 1914 in Winkler, Mr. Nutt retired in 1976 from Vilbid Construction of Dallas after 30 years of service. He was also a World War II veteran. Mr. Nutt is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Ruth and Dub Camp, formerly of Irving, now residing in Grapevine; Nathen Homel of Dallas; and several nieces and nephews. Joe Abb Wood
Joe Abb Wood of Irving died Dec. 6 in Dallas. He was 92. Born Nov. 20, 1905 in Collin County, Mr. Wood was a restaurant owner and a member of Miller Road Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and J.T. Hartness of Irving; son and daughter-in-law Bobbie Joe and Margaret Wood of Garland; five grandchildren, including Larry and Garry Hartness, both of Irving; and 11 great grandchildren. Kennth E. Yeater
Kenneth E. Yeater of Euless died at his home of natural causes Dec. 4. He was 76. Born Feb. 21, 1921 in Wabash, Ind., Mr. Yeater retired in 1987 after 16 years as the owner of Yeater-Laughlin Metal Products in Indiana. Recently, he worked as a part-time driver for AMR Services. Mr. Yeater was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Irving, a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp, 100th Bomb Group and a prisoner of war in World War II. He is survived by his wife, Carol Yeater; son and daughter-in-law Greg and Denise Yeater of Irving; daughter Cathy Yeater of Westminster, Colo.; granddaughters Jessica and Kelsey Yeater, both of Irving; and a niece. Services were held Dec. 8 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, the Revs. Dawn Hansen and Terry Germann officiating. Virginia W. Thompson
Virginia W. Thompson of Dallas died of natural causes at Irving Care Center Dec. 6. She was 97. Born July 16, 1900 in Charleston, W.Va., Mrs. Thompson lived in Dallas since 1919. She was a homemaker, a founding member of St. James Catholic Church, a member of Daughters of '98, and active in the community. Mrs. Thompson is survived by her grandchildren, Joy Parsons, Bill Thompson, Gini Gehrkin, Pat Thompson, Tommy Thompson and Norma Thompson of Irving; a grandson-in-law; 12 great grandchildren; a great, great grandson; and three great grand in-laws. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Scott Thompson Sr., son Walter Scott Thompson Jr., and grandson Walter Scott Thompson III. James Kenneth Hoofard
James Kenneth Hoofard died Dec. 4. A graduate of Texas Tech University, Mr. Hoofard was a veteran of the U.S. Marines with service during the Korean war. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann; sons and daughters-in-law Larry Morgan and Edna Hoofard of Irving, James Jr. and Dianne Hoofard, Ronald Lee and Maureen Hoofard; son Richard Kyle Hoofard; and seven grandchildren. William Hooper
William "Bill" Hooper of Irving died of natural causes Dec. 2 at Irving Hospital. He was 79. Born in Wichita, Kan. Oct. 6, 1918, Mr. Hooper was medical lab technician for more than 20 years. He served for six years in the Texas Army National Guard and was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Hooper is survived by his wife, Jessie Hooper of Irving; son Pierce Hooper of Benbrook; daughter and son-in-law Judy and Daryl Pokladnik of Highland Village; and three grandchildren. I.S. Jones
I.S. "Curly" Jones of Irving died of natural causes at Harris Methodist HEB Hospital in Bedford Dec. 3. He was 72. Born Feb. 10, 1925 in White County, Ga., Mr. Jones retired in 1980 after more than 30 years as an American Airlines flight engineer at D/FW International Airport. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and of the Methodist faith. Mr. Jones is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Tim DeVaney of Irving, Jackie and Ronnie Powell of Grapevine; son and daughter-in-law Tom and Judy Jones of Irving; sisters Vera Cape of Georgia, Wanda Crow of South Carolina; four grandchildren, including Lori Goodwin, Becky Rohrbach and Robert Slone, all of Irving; and two great grandchildren. Marguerite Bryant Parks of Irving died in her sleep after a long illness Dec. 5 in a Dallas nursing home. She was 78. Born in Dallas Oct. 6, 1919, Mrs. Parks was a lifelong Irving resident, formerly employed with the Irving Independent School District. She is survived by her son, Charles I. Parks Jr. of Dallas; son and daughter-in-law Milo W. and Brenda Parks of Dallas; sister Dorothy Mae Bryant Smallwood Marable Reed of Dallas; and five grandchildren. Richard D. Warmanen
Richard D. Warmanen of Irving died in an automobile accident Nov. 30. He was 51. Born in Northfield, Minn. Dec. 12, 1945, Mr. Warmanen was the chief financial advisor for Tenet Corp in Addison. A U.S. Navy veteran with service in Vietnam, Mr. Warmanen was a member of the Grapevine High School Band Boosters, and was active in the Boy Scouts of America, earning the Eagle Scout designation, Order of the Arrow, Order of Merit and the Woodbadge. He was also a member of the National Scout Masters Association. Mr. Warmanen is survived by his mother, Marjore Schaumburg of Wisconsin; son Jesse Warmanen of Irving; daughter Sara Warmanen of Lewisville; sister Judith Warmanen of Wisconsin; an uncle; numerous friends and other family members. He was preceded in death by his father, E.L.Warmanen. Services were held Dec. 5 at First United Methodist Church of Grapevine, the Rev. Richard Nelson and Dr. Timothy Walker officiating.
