William (Buck) Washerlesky
Former Princeton business owner Washerlesky dies
William (Buck) Washerlesky, 57, retired owner of the former Princeton Builders Supply in old downtown Princeton, died last Friday in North Central Medical Center at McKinney.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Wise Funeral Home Chapel at Bonham. Mr. Washerlesky was a former resident of Bonham.
The rites were conducted by the Rev. Don Gordoni, and interment was in Willow Wild Cemetery at Bonham.
Mr. Washerlesky was a native of Brenham. He was born on Oct. 13, 1942, the son of William E.and Pearl Adams Washerlesky. He was a graduate of Bonham High School and attended Texas Tech University. He married the former Janet Johnson in Lubbock on Feb. 8, 1964.
As a resident of Princeton, he was active in many community and civic activities. He had served as mayor pro-tem, was on the Planning & Zoning Committee, and was active in the Pee Wee and Little League Football organizations. He was an independent real estate agent and a deer farmer in addition to operating Princeton Builders Supply for a number of years.
Surviving are his wife, Janet Johnson Washerlesky of Princeton; his father, Willie Washerlesky of Lannius; three sons, Jeff Washerlesky and his wife Susan of Coppell, David Washerlesky and his wife Angie of Princeton and Bill Washerlesky of Corpus Christi; a sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Henry Coppini of Dallas, and five grandchildren, Makenzie, Ryleigh, Ashley, Dylan and David. He was preceded in death by his mother on April 22, 1992.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Mr. McCaughlin
Rondal (Mack) McLaughlin, 67, of Princeton, died Jan. 29 in Dallas from injuries he suffered in an automobile accident on Jan. 9.
Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel at McKinney with the Rev. Billy Combest officiating. Interment was in Ridgeview Memorial Park.
Mr. McLaughlin, an NC Programmer for Rockwell International for 32 years prior to his retirement in 1987, was born in Frankford, W. Va., on Feb. 17, 1932, the son of Ralph and Hattie Fuller McLaughlin. He married Joy Patton in Corsicana on Feb. 16, 1960.
Mr. McLaughlin served in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, was a Past Worshipful Master of the Princeton Masonic Lodge, was a member of the Eastern Star, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite and a member of the VFW.
Surviving are his wife, Joy McLaughlin of Princeton; three daughters, Patty White and her husband Norman of Princeton, Rhonda McLaughlin of Allen and Lisa Gibson and her husband Scotty of Allen; grandchildren Derek and Dillon Douglas of Princeton, Lauren McLaughlin and Addison Gibson of Allen, and a future grandchild, Avery Gibson; three brothers, Paul McLaughlin of Fort Pierce, Fla., Ray McLaughlin of Belize, Mexico, and James McLaughlin of Joshua; a sister, Mary Wiseman of Malvern, Iowa, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Cantu
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel at McKinney for Marcus (Marc) Abel Cantu of Princeton, who died Feb. 8 in Pottstown, Pa.
Officiating was Father Carl Vogel, and interment was in Princeton Cemetery.
Mr. Cantu was born in Lubbock on June 28, 1966, the son of Abel M. and Margarita M. Moreno Cantu. He was employed by AccuCom as a technician in telecommunications, and was of the Catholic faith. He was an avid golfer,and was involved in coaching and officiating in baseball.
He is survived by his son, Marcus A. Cantu Jr., and daughters, Schelbi Cantu and Astrid N. Cantu of Princeton; his parents, Abel and Margaret Cantu of Princeton; a brother, Mauricio Cantu and his wife Jill of Plano; a grandfather, Alberto S. Cantu Sr. of Mathis; the mother of his children, Lorie Cantu of Princeton, and several other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Gumencinda Cantu and Maria Moreno, and a grand father, Pablo Moreno.

MRS. NONA ARMSTRONG
Mrs. Armstrong
Nona Raye Armstrong, 58, a former long-time resident of Farmersville, died Sunday, Feb. 13, in Baylor Medical Center at Dallas.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, in the Lakeway United Methodist Church of Pottsboro with the Rev. Sam Caldwell officiating. Arrangements are being made by the Johnson-Moore Funeral Home at Denison.
Mrs. Armstrong was born on April 15, 1941, in Kopperl, Tex., the daughter of Thomas and Avis Pearl Caughron Sinclair. She attended Garland schools, and was married to Elmo H. Armstrong in Pottsboro on Aug. 4, 1990.
Surviving are her huband, Elmo Armstrong of Pottsboro; two sons, Billy Jack Baise of Pottsboro and Randy Baise of Westminster; a daughter, Vickie Lynn Willis of Richardson; a brother, Jack Sinclair of Pottsboro; two sisters, Tommie Squyres of Pottsboro and Bobbie Jackson of Denison, and two granddaughters, Shayla Baise and Amber Ritchie.
Mrs. Armstrong was a hairdresser for many years, and later retired as a warehouse person from Texas Instruments. She attended Lakeway United Methodist Church and was an active volunteer for the Resale Barn in Pottsboro.

Mr. Warren
Darryl Franklin Warren, 40, of Princeton, died Monday in North Central Medical Center of McKinney.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with the Reverends Malcolm Cave and Kenneth Whittle officiating. Interment will be in Ridgeview Memorial Park.
Mr. Warren was a native of Dallas. He was born on Oct. 23, 1959, the son of Gilbert and Dorothy Foreman Warren. He was a truck driver and a member of the Culleoka Baptist Church.
He is survived by his parents, Gilbert and Dorothy Warren of Princeton; a son, Darryl Franklin Warren Jr. of Princeton; his ex-wife, Judy Wiggins, and aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Nancy Mae Foreman and Arthur L. and Annie Warren.

Mrs. Quillin
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Hurst’s Fielder-Baker Funeral Home Chapel for Lois M. Quillin, 87, who died Feb. 17 in the Hinton Home in Farmersville.
Officiating was the Rev. Bart Barber, and interment was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Quillin was a native of Knoxville, Tenn. Born on Nov. 2, 1912, she was the daughter of Walter and Laura Rominger Fagala. She married Grady Quillin in Durant, Okla., on Aug. 29, 1931, and was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Farmersville.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Hill of Carrollton; a son, Kenneth Quillin of Farmersville; four grandchildren, Debbie Moody of Pike, Cindy Webb and Craig Quillin of Blue Ridge and Sheryl Jeffries of Grapevine; eight great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Thompson
Genevieve Hornbuckle Thompson, 82, died Sunday in Denton Community Hospital.
Graveside rites for the former Nevada resident were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Thompson Cemetery at Copeville, with the Rev. Jeff Moore officiating. Hurst’s Fielder-Baker Funeral Home of Farmersville was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Thompson was born in Whitewright on May 30, 1917, to Mary Emma Wade Hornbuckle and George Jabez Hornbuckle.
Her grandparents, George G. and Martha Ann Knowles Wade, came to Farmersville in 1890 from Tupelo, Miss. George T. Hornbuckle and Sarah Catherine Allison came to Copeville in 1880 from Huntsville, Ala. Great grandparents Rachel Ann Harless and William T. Allison also came to this area from Madison County, Ala., and are buried in Farmersville. William Martin and Alice Crow Putman Jr. also came here from Tupelo and are buried in Thompson Cemetery.
Mrs. Thompson was a member of the First Baptist Church of Copeville. She graduated from Nevada High School in 1934, and was a beautician for many years and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by a daughter, Joy Smith McCullough and her husband Dan of Copeville; a granddaughter, Amber Parks and her husband Shannon, and two grandchildren, Colton and Erin Parks of Denton; a sister, Georgia Hendrix and her husband Jim of Dallas, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dora Allen of Copeville.

Mrs. Calhoun
Evelyn Dorene Calhoun, 55, died Monday. She was an employee of the Community Independent School District Administration Department and lived in Nevada.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Royse City Church of Christ, with interment following in Dulaney Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Royse City Church of Christ, 215 Bell St., Royse City, Tex. 75189, or to Dulaney Cemetery, c/o First Bank of Celeste, P. O. Box 7, Celeste, Tex. 75423.
Rest Haven Funeral Home of Royse City was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Calhoun was born in Greenville on June 13, 1944, the daughter of J. E. and Bonnie Dorene Maples Thorp. She married Bobby Allen Calhoun in Marshall on Nov. 2, 1963, and was a member of the Royse City Church of Christ.
Surviving are her husband, Bobby Calhoun of Nevada; a daughter, Aimee Sandifer and her husband Kevin of Bogata; a son, Allen Calhoun and his wife Shawna of Josephine; grandchildren Colten Chapman and Cody Calhoun; parents, J. E. and Bonnie Thorp of Celeste; two sisters, Ruth Tillerson and her husband Joe of Albuquerque, N.M., and Ouida Craver and her husband Franky of Howe; three nieces, one nephew, two great nieces and one great nephew; her mother-in-law, Gladys Calhoun of Marshall; an aunt, an uncle and cousins of the family of Willie and Ruth Thorp, and other aunts,uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her niece, Elizabeth Tillerson, and father-in-law, Henry Edgar Calhoun.

Mr. Baker
C. H. (Bean) Baker Jr., 73, a long-time resident of Copeville, died Monday at his residence.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Copeville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Carder officiating. Interment was in Thompson Cemetery at Copeville under the direction of Hurst’s Fielder-Baker Funeral Home of Farmersville.
Mr. Baker was born in Emory on March 24, 1926. He was the son of Clifton H. and Mertie Williams Baker Sr. He married the former Betty Bumpass on March 30, 1946, in Farmersville, was a veteran of World War II Army service and was retired from Safeway. He was a member of the Copeville First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Baker of Copeville; three daughters, Brenda Sisk, Judy Galupps and Tina Hensley of Copeville; six sisters, Francell McEachin of Warren, Mich., Lee Stuart of San Antonio, Emma Arnold of Sachse, Neoma Quillin of Farmersville, Dollie Mae Hatton of Palestine and Janis Powell of Farmersville; a brother, M. A. Morris of Houston, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jina Baker; a son, Harvey Baker, and a brother, J. C. Baker.
