Rebecca "Beck" K. Gulledge, 58, of rural Lawrenceville passed away at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital on February 26, 2007. Born December 30, 1948, she was the daughter of Donald Ray and Norma Jean (Smith) Shidler of Lawrenceville. She married Glen Gulledge on October 22, 1972 and he survives. Besides her husband, she is also survived by her mother, a son Ryan Gulledge and wife Missey of Bridgeport, two grandchildren KateLynn and Colton Gulledge,two brothers Vic Shidler and wife Susie of Sumner, Jeff Shidler and wife Nicole of Lawrenceville, three sisters Kathy Boldrey and husband Robert of Olney, Donna Roosevelt and husband Randy of Clay City, IL, Nancy Greentree and huband Terry of Lawrenceville, eight nieces and one great niece.
She was preceded in death by her father.
She was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church. She was retired from the United Methodist Villege where she worked in the Medical Records Department.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL with burial in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 1, 2007 from 12:00 until the hour of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Douglas D. Pargin
February 21, 2007
Douglas D. Pargin, 35, of Lawrenceville passed away Wednesday February 21, 2007.
Born February 21, 1972 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Glyndon "Glen" Pargin and Carol Ann Thompson Pargin of Lawrenceville.
Along with his mother, he is survived by a brother Patrick and wife Mary Pargin of Lawrenceville, Paternal Grandmother Evelyn Pargin of Lawrenceville, maternal grandparents Harold "Candy" and Norma Thompson of Lawrenceville, step-grandmother Betty Rule of Olney, IL, step-mother Karen Pargin of rural St. Francisville, step-brother Chad and wife Samantha Perrott of Woodstock, IL, step-sisters Karla and husband Jeremy Glenn of Bridgeport, IL, and Mandi and husband Jon Fuller of Lawrenceville, IL, as well as 6 neices and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Glen and paternal grandfather Dale Pargin.
Visitation will be Tuesday February 27, 2007 from 5 to 8PM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Private funeral services will be conducted.
Memorial donations may be given to the Billett United Methodist Church or to the Samaritan Center Intervention.

Samuel D. Rigg
February 20, 2007
Samuel D. Rigg, 83, of Bridgeport, IL passed away at the Lawrence Community Healthcare Center on Tuesday, February 20th, 2007. Born November 7, 1923, he was the son of Donald H. and Mildred (Tarr) Rigg. He married Betty Smith on July 27, 1946 who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Diana Scherer of Bridgeport; one brother Donald Rigg of Decatur, IL; one sister Dorothy Frances Doty of Evansville, IN, three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Sam was a bartender at the Elks for 39 years. He was in the Army and served in WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of the Elks, VFW and the American Legion in Bridgeport.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Adams Corner Cemetery west of Allendale, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Linda Damer
February 19, 2007
Linda Damer, age 65, of Bridgeport passed away at her residence on Monday, February 19, 2007.
Born, December 7, 1941 she was the daughter of William York and Wilda (Perry) York. On February 24, 1962 she married Dennis Damer and he survives. She is also survived by her mother of Bridgeport, a son Dennis Damer of Austin, TX, a daughter Kelly Westmoreland of Caddo Mill, TX, two brothers Gary York and Mark York both of Indianapolis,IN, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and a son William David Damar.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 23, 2007 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM with the funeral service at 1:00 PM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL. Burial will follow at the Bridgeport Cemetery south of Bridgeport.

Marie Perrott
February 17, 2007
Marie (Fiscus)Perrott, formerly of Sumner, Illinois, passed away peacefully in her sleep with family at her side on February 17, 2007 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC after a brief illness. She was 99.
Marie was born on December 13, 1907 to Charles Luther Fiscus and Gertrude (Andrews) Fiscus on their farm south of Sumner, IL. She married J. Virgil Perrott in Sumner on July 12, 1924. She was a devoted lifelong Christian. She was a member of the Congregational Christian Church in Sumner.
She was preceded in death by her husband J. Virgil Perrott; her only son Kenneth A. Perrott; her parents Charles and Gertrude Fiscus; two sisters Irene (Fiscus) Poland and Mabel ("Amby") (Fiscus) Fife; five brothrs Ralph Fiscus, Raymond Fiscus, Herman Dale Fiscus, John Harvey Fiscus and Marvin Deyo Fiscus; one half-sister Charlene Deicher; and one half brother Burl Fiscus.
She is survived by her only daughter Bonnie L. (Perrott) Treece and her husband Doyle of Belleville, IL; her grandson Dr. James L. Kesler and his wife Jana of Wilmington, NC; her granddaughter Diana Sue (Treece) Zahner and her husband Steven of St. Louis, MO; four great grandchildren Jason Kesler of Winston Salem, NC, Jessica Kesler of Durham, NC, Emma Zahner and Jack Zahner both of St. Louis, MO; tw half sisters Eleanor Millman and Trella Clow of Olney, IL; one sister-in-law Lorena Perrott of Decatur, IL; and many more beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services celebrating her life with Christ will be held at the Congregational Christian Church in Sumner with the Rev. Doug Reed officiating on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 11 a.m. followed by a graveside service and a fellowship dinner at the church. Visitation will be at 10 am preceding the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Congregational Christian Church in Sumner or a favorite charity. Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home of Sumner, IL is in charge of arrangements.

Brucine T. Madding
February 13, 2007
Brucine T. Madding, age 90, of Mooresville, N.C. (formerly of this area) passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at the Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in Mooresville, N.C. She was born June 4, 1916, the daughter of Lee Tetidrick and Ida (Naylor) Tetidrick who are deceased. She married Charles Madding on July 20, 1946 and he is deceased. She is survived by one daughter Janey Madding of Cornelius, NC.
Before she was married and during WWII, she worked for the Cadillac dealership in olney, IL. At that time, she was the only female bookkeeper employed by General Motors. Her husband, Chuck Madding, had his own business and she was a great asset to his business by doing bookkeeping and secretCourier work and was always included in business decisions.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 17th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery in Lawrenceville, IL.

Inez M. Coffey
February 11, 2007
Inez M. Coffey, 93, of Lawrenceville passed away Sunday evening February 11, 2007 at the United Methodist Village North Campus.
Born March 1, 1913 in Lawrence County she was the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Ramsey) Easterday.
She was first married to Fred Mayberry. He preceded her in death. She then married Alfred Coffey. He also preceded her in death.
She is survived by a great-niece and caregiver Connie Griesemer of Bridgeport, IL and several other nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Friday at 11:00AM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Visitation is from Friday from 10:00 until the service hour of 11:00am.
Burial will be at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to Good Samaritan Hospice.

Leona Grace Shepherd
February 10, 2007
Leona Grace Shepherd, 62, of rural Lawrenceville, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2007. Born December 1, 1945 she was the daughter of Gorden and Leona (Lieb) Duck. She married Kenneth Shepherd in March of 1963 and he survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Kenneth Shepherd Jr. and Andrew W. Shepherd, both of rural Lawrenceville, a step-daughter Karen Lynette Fote of Quincy, IL, one granddaughter Kendra Elizabeth Shepherd of Lawrenceville, and three brothers Randy Duck, Gordon Duck, Jr., and Fredrick Duck all of Battlecreek, MI.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 16th at 2:00 p.m. at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL.

Mary Selby Robinson
February 3, 2007
Mary Selby Robinson, 80, of Lawrenceville passed away Saturday February 3, 2007 at her residence.
Born August 16, 1926 she was the daughter of Arnold and Leona Alford.
She was first married to Jim Selby. He preceded her in death in June of 1990. She then married Eugene Robinson. He survives.
Also surviving are daughters: Rachel (Dave) McCullough of Tuscola, IL, Cathy (Merle) Wells of Ft. Branch, IN, a step-son: Curtis (Tammy) Robinson of Wheatland, IN, 4 brothers: Ray Alford of Lawrenceville, IL, Don Alford of Jeffersonville, IN, Carl "Jack" Alford of Greenville, IL, Gary Alford of Lawrenceville, IL, 5 sisters: Mildred Proffitt of Granite City, IL, Shirley Woodruff of Lawwrenceville, IL Vera Stevens of Lawrenceville, IL, Edith Simmons of Lawrenceville, IL, Phyllis Darden of Long Beach, MS, 6 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:30pm at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Visitation is Tuesday from 5 to 7PM. Burial will be at Centerville Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to the Birds Free Methodist Church.

Cecil May Fiscus
February 3, 2007
Cecil May Fiscus, 98, of Lawrenceville passed away Saturday February 3, 2007 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital.
Born May 6, 1908 in Dunklin County, MO she was the daughter of Jim and Alice (Bass) Ilant. She was married to Lawrence Fiscus. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are a grandson: Joe Schellenger of Sullivan, IN, and a brohter Homer Ilant of Hammond, IN.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00am at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Visitation is Wednesady from 5 to 8PM.
Burial will be at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.

Arlene Sharum
February 2, 2007
Arlene Sharum, 68, of Lawrenceville passed away Friday, February 2, 2007 at her residence.
Born September 8, 1938 she was the daughter of Paul Norman and Malverda (Bechdel) Wright. On December 9, 1956 she married Philip R. Sharum. He survives.
Also surviving are a son: Grant Sharum of Lawrenceville, IL, a daughter: Wendy and Dusty Brinkman of West Salem, IL, 2 brohters: Paul Wright Jr. of Franklin, PA, Mark Wright of Franklin, PA, 3 sisters: Nancy Fultz of Milesburg, PA, Joan Haus of Milesburg, PA, Judy Tracy of Chambersburg, PA, 3 grandchildren: Melissa and husband John Cox, Audra Brown, Holly Brown, and 2 great grandchildren,: Wyatt John Cox and Marina Bell Cox.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 10:30am at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 pm. Burial will be at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to Good Samaitan Hospice.

Max E. Atkins
January 31, 2007
Max E. Atkins, 67, of Sumner passed away at 3:30 A.M., Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at his residence in Sumner. Born October 20, 1939, he was a son of Carl and Elsie (Clevy)Atkins. On December 6, 1975 he married Kay Myers who survives. Also surviving are two sons Tyler Atkins of Decatur and Terry Atkins of Lawrenceville; three daughters Vicki Blodgett of Lawrenceville, Venessa Atkins of Sumner, and Melissa Smith of Bridgeport, a step-daughter Lisa Ward of rural Sumner, and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Max Dean Atkins,two brothers, and two sisters.
The funeral will be held on Friday, February 2, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home with burial in the Sumner City Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Anna E. Fisher
January 31, 2007
Anna E. Fisher, 82, of rural Lawrenceville passed away at her home on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 8:48 A.M. Born April 8, 1924 in Russell Township, Illinois, she was the daughter of Henry and Julia (Catt) Smith. On May 16, 1942 she married Lyman Fisher and he survives. Also surviving are four sons Dave (Cindy) Fisher, Will (Janice) Fisher, and Lyman (Jeanette) Fisher Jr. all of Vincennes, IN, and Michael (Susan) Fisher of rural Lawrenceville, three daughters Patricia (David) Newman of Cypress, TX, Yvonne (Frank) Motteler of Newburgh, IN, and Tammy (Danny) Miller of rural Lawrenceville, IL, 19 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, as well as one sister Ada (Millard) Elder of Palestine, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and two sisters. She was a member of the Rising Sun Christian Church.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes, IN. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
Memorial donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice.
